Woman raped to death

A 21-year-old woman, Sarah Aduako, died a few hours after being seized, beaten and raped by an unidentified man at Kronom Botantia near Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital, at about 8pm on Monday, September 24, 2018.

The deceased, the first of seven children, who is a bridal stylist apprentice, had closed from work at Breman Abusuakuruwa and was returning home when her assailant assaulted her, leading to her untimely death.

Janet Fosua, mother of Sarah, who briefed DAILY GUIDE said tearfully that her late daughter left the house for work healthy in the morning of that fateful day.

She said at about 9pm, the young lady returned home half-naked, looking exhausted and depressed with bruises on her right hand and a swollen neck.

When questioned, she told her mother that on her way home at the Kronom Botantia area the unidentified man proposed love to her, demanded her phone number and started making moves to sexually assault her.

Sensing danger, young Sarah decided to flee amidst screams for help, but the nameless hoodlum dragged her to an uncompleted building where he purportedly raped her after a long struggle, leaving her unconscious in the dark.

Madam Janet Fosua claimed that Sarah regained consciousness about 30 minutes later before she got home where she vomited and oozed blood through her nostrils.

She was rushed to the Hilltop Hospital at Kronom Cementmu for medical attention, but was later referred to the Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Sarah’s body has since been deposited at the KATH morgue pending autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Afrancho Police who were called to the scene have commenced investigations into the matter. At the scene, the deceased’s dress and purse were found which can help the police in their investigations.

13 Dead, 2 Missing following rains in Northern Ghana

Eight people are reported dead while two others have been declared missing following the spillage of the Bagre dam in Burkina Faso and torrential rains in the Upper East Region. The spillage coupled with torrential rains in the region has affected thousands of farmers.

Many homes and properties have been destroyed, leaving scores of people with no place to lay their heads.

The Deputy Regional Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Paul Wooma, the in-charge of NADMO Operations in the Upper East, in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM said 110 communities in 12 districts in the region have been affected by the development.

He added that a total of 11,326 farmers have also been affected, explaining that a total of 11,556.6 hectares of land have been destroyed whilst 140 houses have been totally collapsed.

According to Mr Wooma, a total of 6,470 buildings are partially collapsed.

“Unfortunately we have registered some deaths too…they are eight in the region,” he said.

He explained that the main cause of the deaths was as a result of fallen buildings on the victims, adding that other deaths occurred while the victims attempted to cross the flooded areas.

Meanwhile another five people have been reported dead in the Sissala East Municipality in the Upper West region following days of torrential rains.

The five died in separate flooding incidents that have displaced over 5,600 residents and about 34 farming communities.

The NADMO Director in the Sissala East District, Mr Ishahaku Issah Bganhaa confirmed the incident.

A man has reportedly fallen from the fourth floor of a building to his death while fighting another man

The man called Dickson Samba is reported to have caught his wife in bed with another man after coming home unannounced

n his bid to attack the wife's boyfriend, Samba fell from his balcony and instantly died from his injuries

The alleged infidelity of a woman has caused the death of her husband under a very bizarre circumstance.

According to reports, a Kenyan man known as Dickson Samba allegedly caught his wife in bed with another man when he came home without informing her beforehand.

As the man of the house, he began fighting the man over what is his in a fierce exchange of punches at their home at Umoja Estate in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.

But he fell off the balcony of his house during the fight and died from the injuries he sustained from the fall.

According to Tuko.ke, eyewitnesses have alleged that his wife’s boyfriend overpowered him and threw him over the rails of the balcony of the 4th floor.

It was reported that the deceased husband fell down landing on his head and was said to have died on the spot because of the injuries he sustained from the fall.

Unfortunately, the wife’s boyfriend was able to escape before being caught. He was said to have disappeared from the scene immediately with his whereabouts still unknown.

According to the report, a co-tenant alerted the landlord of the house after noticing blood stains in the doorway of the deceased.

Police attacked, woman killed at Agbogbloshie

The Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu, has directed the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, to conduct an immediate investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of a lady, who is yet-to-be-identified, during an attack on a police team at Agbogbloshie on Tuesday, 4 September.

A team of police officers, acting on information that a robbery suspect, Nuhu Sule, was hiding at a ghetto at Agbogbloshie with items he had stolen during a robbery operation the previous night, were attacked by unknown assailants.

The team of police officers from the Accra Regional Police Headquarters were attacked when they retrieved the items believed to have been stolen by Nuhu Sule.

They called for reinforcement, leading to the arrest of 15 suspects believed to have masterminded the attack.

The suspects are currently in police custody pending further investigation, according to a statement signed by ACP David Eklu, Director General, Public Affairs.

Dancehall artistes Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, says he will begin to charge colleague musicians, especially Sarkodie if they need him on their songs.

According to Shatta, charging Sarkodie and his likes will put them on their toes to wake up from their slumber in the music industry.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Tuesday, Shatta said he was surprised that Sarkodie will shoot a music video with a Nigerian but refuse to do same with him when he was an up and coming artiste.

He told show host Andy Dosty that he will charge some colleague musicians and will ready himself to pay for their services should he want to feature them too.

If he charges me too, I will pay. When you are a man and you fear money, you will never get it…” Shatta said.

“I did a song with him but he didn’t shoot the video but with a Nigerian, he did; what is he talking about,”he queried.

Asked why he didn’t shoot the music video with his own money, Shatta Said “The time I did the dancehall commando, I had nothing. If Sarkodie had something small he could have,” he said.

Shatta Wale is currently promoting his album dubbed, The Reign which is due to be released on October 13, 2018.

Sarkodie has released a new song titled 'Black Excellence' and the song features the voice of President Akufo-Addo on it

Award-winning rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie has released a new song which features the voice of President Nana Akufo Addo.

The new song titled ‘Black Excellence’ (Ebibi Man) is a commentary on African (Ghanaian) mentality, corruption and financial security.

In the song, Sarkodie lashes out at politicians and public office holders who inflate the cost of contracts to their benefit.

He also admonishes the youth on the need for young people to properly invest their money rather than showing off to impress friends and people of the opposite sex.

Sarkodie touches on what is said to be the African mentality which has impeded the growth of the continent.

At the 2:09 minute of the song, the voice of President Akufo-Addo is heard on the song.

It is one of his famous speeches about Ghana and Africa weaning ourselves off aid from the world's superpowers.

He often uses his music to make commentary on important national and social issues.

It looks like he agrees with President Akufo-Addo's resolve to cut our dependence on foreign aid.

2018 SHS choices of BECE candidates released

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has completed and placed all the candidates who passed their 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examinations, into the various senior high schools, technical and vocational institutes for the 2018/2019 academic year.

Results of the 509,827 candidates who sat for the exams were released by the West African Examination Council last week.

The entire results of 2,061 candidates were withheld pending the conclusion of investigations.

Those of 83 candidates were cancelled “for bringing mobile phones into the examination hall and receiving external assistance”.

One hundred and thirty-four had their subject results cancelled for bringing foreign materials into the exams centres.

Others among the 134 had their subject results cancelled for collusion and engaging in irregular activity during the exams.

According to the Council, it is investigating the alleged malpractices after which a determination would be made on either to release or cancel those results, a statement by the Council announcing the release of the BECE results said.

Meanwhile the GES has asked the candidates who passed their exams to go to the Computer School Selection and Placement portal (www.cssps.gov.gh) to check the schools they have been placed.

Alternatively, candidates can check their placement by purchasing the CSSPS scratch card and texting the 10-digit code plus their index number to the short code 1060 on all mobile networks.

“Candidates can now print their placement forms and send them to their respective schools,” the GES said in a statement.

GES to recruit 8,872 staff starting September

The Ghana Education Service (GES ) is recruiting 8,872 staff in order to meet the demands of the double track educational system which takes off in September this year.

Applications for the classroom teachers is open to graduate teachers from the universities who have completed their national service and wish to be recruited by the GES as teachers.

Applicants who intend to apply for the position of classroom teachers will be required to log onto www.gespromotions.gov.gh to fill an online application form.

Regional breakdowns

The GES has done an audit assessment of the needs of the schools, with the Eastern Region requiring about 1,812 new teachers, representing the highest number, while the Ashanti Region follows with 1,203.

The Central Region requires 912 while the Northern, Brong Ahafo, Volta and Greater Accra regions require 683, 682, 634 and 525 respectively.

The Western, Upper East and Upper West regions follow with 534, 284 and 361 respectively.

Subjects

In an exclusive interview, the Head of the Public Relations Unit of the GES, Ms Cassandra Ampofo Twum, explained that all subjects taught at the senior high schools (SHSs) would be requiring new teachers.

She said for Core Mathematics for instance, about 819 new teachers would be required, while Elective Maths would require 276 new teachers. About 793 new teachers would be required for English Language.

For Integrated Science, 606 new teachers will be required, while 366 will be required for Social Studies.

Technical and vocation

Ms Twum said the vacancies also included teachers for technical and vocational institution subjects such as Applied Electricity, Applied Electronic, Architectural Drafting, Automobile Engineering, Basketry, Building & Construction Leather Workers, Metal Works and Motor Vehicle Technicians.

She explained that the deadline for the submission of the application would be September 1, 2018, adding that the recruitment process for non-teaching staff would be announced in due course.

Test and posting

Ms Twum said those shortlisted would be required to write a test to determine their suitability for the advertised positions.

“Applicants should note that the GES reserves the right to post them upon recruitment to places where their services will be needed.

“The GES has no obligation to recruit any applicant as that shall be determined by the Director-General of the GES,” she explained.

Heavy Downpour Collapses Bridge In Bontibor

In December 2017, nyewase897.com reported that a collapsed bridge has been abandoned in Bontibor in the Nkwanta south municipality leaving inhabitants stranded and unable to transport farm products out of the town.

The collapsed bridge was patched up through communal labour by the youth after the youth led by Emmanuel Nyavor and Fidelis Damba petitioned the assembly and did several follow backs on the petition but to no effect.

After about some nine (9) months, the wrecked bridge that was patched up has finally collapsed. On Friday August 24 2018, the bridge has collapsed after a heavy rainfall .

Motorists, cars, pedestrians/farmers are now handicapped.

Prince Lamptey, a 33-year-old father of a lady allegedly possessed by a river god, has narrated his ordeal to TV host, Kofi Adoma seeking support from well-wishers to get her daughter back.

A native of Santasi-Anyinam in Kumasi, Prince Lamptey says he has been through a torturous experience in the past few months in a desperate attempt to bring back his only daughter, a 14-year-old girl.

His daughter allegedly got possessed by a river god at age nine after being raped by her matrilineal uncle and forced to conceal the truth by her grandmother at the expense of her life.

The father of the girl detailed that his brother-in-law had compelled his 9-year-old daughter to have sex with him on two occasions against her wish. The first time he recounted happened in the room preserved for keeping corpse during funerals and the second time by the riverside close to their farm.

Prince disclosed that the river god entered the girl after she disposed of a tissue she used in cleaning herself after the act into the river containing blood.

As a result, she randomly takes certain actions to appease the 'spirit' in her against her own wishes including harming her classmates to suck their blood and on an occasion going naked in an attempt to seduce the father to have sex with her.

The disturbed father regretted neglecting his daughter and leaving her with the mother from birth as the incident occurred whiles she was under her care and only got to know this after visiting a fetish priest in Cote D'Ivoire.

"This issue has been ongoing for close to 5years. My daughter was with the mother and about a year ago, my wife called and informed me of my daughter's intention to come live with me and I agreed to it. I agreed because I thought to myself that if after years of legal tussle requesting you to give me the child, she willingly wants to come to me it must not be a problem at all.

I realised she wasn't schooling whilst living with my wife so I enrolled her in a topnotch school in Kumasi. After a few weeks, one of her teachers confided in me that there was something awkward about my daughter and that she possesses some attributes that are not human and strange.

Days after my wife called me informing me that our child is in the grips of the police for injuring her mate in the head. When I asked my daughter what transpired she told me the 'thing' requested for blood and I had no option" he said in Twi.

The distraught father explained that not until he visited the Fetish priest in Cote D'Ivoire, he didn't understand fully what was going on.

He disclosed that it was the fetish priest who revealed to him that his brother-in-law had courted the spirits to assist him to embark on those acts of sleeping with his daughter.

The said river god, a friend of the fetish priest when consulted, requested for an initial 25 cattle and a sum of GHC80, 000 but after incessantly pleading with the river god, the charge was brought down to GHC80000 and 15 cattle.

Additionally, he was instructed not to get involved in any way including using his money to pay for the cost of the charge but to let any other person preferably someone from the wife's family or herself to do so.

The cost of failing to adhere to the wish of the river god is imprisonment of his brother-in-law or the death of his daughter.

Explaining why he hasn't resorted to Christian priests and 'Men of God', father of the 'possessed girl' remarked in shock that all the so-called popular pastors who claim to deliver people from demonic attacks all kowtowed to her.

"The first pastor we visited was our very own Prophet one, Obinim's church in Kumasi. He asked us to go for counselling and right after that the things my daughter was telling Ebenezer is not something that should be said openly. She accused him of being a crook who plans with people to pretend to be sick so he cures them and then challenges Prophet One to a contest.

From there I went to Reverend Obofour. She manhandled him and dared to kill all those who were pretending to be sick in the church if they do not stop whilst insisting that Reverend Opambour was in the church because of money. He asked me to go and come but now even when I call he doesn't pick.

It was not until I visited Obinim's church in Tema that he told me at first sight that the solution is to return the water god to its rightful place adding that no priest can ever help us but declined to go further with the explanation" he continued.

At moment, Prince Lamptey is worried because his daughter has been carried away into the forests in Kumasi for weeks now and all searches conducted to trace her whereabout proved futile.

He notes that on the day she was carried away, all locks in the house were intact but the girl mysteriously vanished and was hinted about her whereabouts by the fetish priest in Cote D'ivoire he visited.

Prince Lamptey is seeking for help to bring his daughter back as he alleges that his wife and family have shown very little interest in helping to resolve the matter but joined several others to hurl insults and attacks on him.

[TIPS] LEARN TO BE YOUR OWN PERSONAL DOCTOR

NOTE: These Tips Are My Home Remedies From Personal Experience

1. *TYPHOID FEVER*: Get unripe pawpaw, unripe
pineapple, ginger, lime orange and Lipton tea. Cut into pieces, boil with fermented corn water for one hour. Take one glass cup 3 times daily for one week. The ailment will disappear.

2. *STOMACH ULCER*: Get 7-8 unripe plantain, peel them, cut them to pieces and pound. Put everything inside a plastic container, fill it with one gallon of water. Allow it to ferment for three days. Take one cup 2 times a day for one week. The ailment will disappear.

3. *ASTHMA*: Get some seeds of mango, cut it into pieces and keep under the sun to dry. Grind to powder. Put one spoon of
the powder into a glass cup of water, stir it and drink. Once in a day for 3-4 weeks .

4. *RHEUMATISM / ARTHRITIS*: Get 5 seeds of English pear (Avocado pear), cut into pieces and dry under the sun, grind to
powder. Mix with a glass of honey to form paste. Take one spoon, 3 times daily until the 6th day.

.5 *CHOLERA*: Take three teaspoons of salt and one teaspoon of sugar, add half spoon of dry gin. Drink all as a single dose. The cholera will stop immediately.

6. *HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE*: Get 4 seeds of English pear (Avocado pear), cut into pieces, dry under the sun and grind into
powder. Put a teaspoon of this powder into your prepared palp and drink. Once daily for 2 weeks.

7. *PNEUMONIA*: Get a handful of garlic, grind to extract the juice. Drink a spoon and use the juice to rub the chest and back.
That will close the chapter.

8. *SEVERE COUGH*: Get about 10 pieces of bitter cola, grind to powder, add half cup of original honey. Take 2 spoons thrice
daily for 4 days.

9. *TUBERCULOSIS*: Get 20-23 pieces of bitter cola, ginger of equal quantity and 3 bulbs of garlic grind everything and add a bottle of original honey. Take one spoon thrice daily for one
month.

10. *DIABETES*: Grind 6 bulbs of big onions, add one original bottle of honey. Take one spoon thrice daily for one month.
*alternatively*; get a handful of bitter leaf and scent leaves, squeeze out the water in them, add lime(orange)juice, grinded
garlic and small potash. Take half glass of it twice daily for one month.

11. *STAPHILOCOCCUS*: Get 2 pieces of aloe-vera, cut into pieces and put it in a container add one bottle of original honey and a glass of water. Take half cup of it 2 times daily for one week.

12. *WOMAN UNDER HARD LABOUR*: Get some leaves of Cochorus Olitorus(Vegetable Leaf) squeeze out the water and
give it to the woman under hard labour. She will deliver the baby instantly.

13. *INTERNAL PILE*: Get the leaves of pawpaw, scent leaves and bitter leaves, squeeze out the water take half cup twice daily for 4 days.

15. *MENSTRUATION PROBLEM*: Get 4-5 cola, ginger and garlic, cut them in pieces mix it with lime orange juice. Take 2 spoons daily for 3 days.

16. *WEIGHT LOSS*: Get some corn silk, boil with lime orange juice. Drink half cup of it daily for one week and also embark on
physical exercise.

17. *FUNGAL INFECTION*: Mix a native soap with ground potash, add lime orange. Apply the mixture after bath.

18. *GONORRHEA*: Get 3-4 pieces of cola, ginger and garlic, cutinto pieces. Mix everything with lime orange juice. Take 2
spoons daily until it is over.

19. *INTERNAL HEAT*: Get some quantity of dry pawpaw leaves and cashew leaves, boil with water and drink half cup daily for one week.

20. *INSOMNIA*: Add 3 spoons of honey into a glass cup of milk. Take all at bedtime for one week.

21. *HEART FAILURE*: Grind 12 bulbs of onions and 12 bulbs of garlic together. Get 3 bottles of honey, mix together. Take 2 spoons thrice daily for 2 weeks.

23. *TEETHING PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN*: Get a mixture of lime
juice and honey; let it be of equal quantity. The child should take one teaspoon twice daily until the problem is over.

24. *LOW SPERM COUNT*: Get large quantity of guava leaves, pound, add water and filter. Drink one glass cup thrice per day for 1 week. As you are taking that, eat carrot and cucumber daily for 2 weeks.

25. *QUICK EJACULATION*: Get 3 bulbs of Okro, slice them get the dry seed of it, ferment everything with soda water for 2 days. Take half cup daily for one week.

26. *WEAK ERECTION*: Get 6 bulbs of white onions, grind and extract the juice. Mix the juice with honey. Take 2 spoons thrice
daily for one week.

27. *VIRGINAL DISCHARGE*: Get 3 pieces of bitter cola, some ginger and garlic, grind and add lime juice .Take 2 spoons twice daily for one week.

28. *CHILDREN CONVULSION*: Get one onion, small garlic and
ginger, grind all. Mix with palm kernel oil. Give the child to drink and use the mixture as cream for the child.

29. *FIRE BURNS*: Rub the affected area with pure honey daily.

30. *HAIR BREAKAGE*: Get one bottle of olive oil and one bottle of honey. Mix together and warm it for few minutes. Use the
mixture to wash your hair.

31. *BALD HEAD*: Grind bird pepper, unripe pawpaw seed and mix with lime orange juice. Use the mixture to rub the head, hair will start growing in the affected area.

32. *FIBROID*: Eat about 20 pieces of unripe palm kernel seeds everyday for about two months.

33. *BLOOD BUILDING*: Get some quantity of pumpkin leaves and garden egg leaves, squeeze out the liquid, add milk. Drink it for
three days; your blood will be boosted.

34. *CATARACTS*: Apply the aloe-vera gel to the affected eyes every night until the problem is over.

35. *THROAT PROBLEM*: Eat small quantity of ginger continuously for one week.

[BREAKING] WAEC releases results for 2018 BECE candidates

The West African Examinations Council, (WAEC), has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).

In a statement signed by Agnes Teye Cudjoe, Deputy Director, Public Affairs at WAEC, the council said it is in the process of dispatching the results to the schools through the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education.

Last Monday, WAEC asked the general public to disregard reports that it had officially released results of candidates who sat for the 2018 BECE. But after officially releasing the results, WAEC said it has “hosted the results online, and candidates who so desire may access their results at the Council’s website”.

Results statistics

A total of 509,827 candidates sat for the examinations.

This was made up of 263,291 males and 246,536 females.

The figure is 8.92% higher that of 2017.

The candidates were from a total of 16,060 schools.

The examination was administered at 1, 772 centres,

Malpractice

134 candidates had their subject results cancelled for bringing foreign material into the examination hall; for collusion and engaging in irregular activity during the examination.

83 candidates had their entire results cancelled for bringing mobile phones into the examination hall and receiving external assistance.

2,061 candidates have their results withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into alleged examination malpractice.

The withheld results will either be released or cancelled as soon as the Council concludes its investigations.

In June 2018, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), released the provisional results of private candidates who sat for the 2018 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The Deputy Director of Public Affairs of the WAEC, Mrs. Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, in a release, said the results were on the council’s website and accessible to candidates.

The results of seven candidates were withheld over allegations of examination malpractice.

WAEC said the held-up results would be released as soon as investigations were completed, and there was no strong evidence to prove malpractice.

With massive trouble looming over his suspicious activities, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has approached the US Embassy in Accra to evacuate his family to the United States, Ghanaguardian.com can exclusively reveal.

The controversial undercover journalist is fearing for the lives of his immediate family and approached the US Embassy on Friday to grant his family special protection for them to be flown out of Ghana after his cover was blown this week.

Sources close to the family of Anas have told Ghanaguardian.com the journalist fears that he could be harmed by people he has investigated or blackmailed to receive their monies to drop investigations as they would be seeking revenge or refund.

While he has portrayed himself as someone fighting to root out corruption in society, a lot of people in Ghana have fingered him in corrupt activities with lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong leading the charge.

Anas is involved in several messy land grab issues mostly in the rich neighbourhoods of Tse Addo (behind Trade Fair) and East Legon in Accra after being accused of using his contacts in the country to threaten, intimidate and seize lands from defenceless citizens.

His latest investigation has ruffled a few feathers and some have already warned that they will take legal aganist him which has also sparked another concern.

On Friday, Anas' integrity suffered a major blow when a Tamale chief revealed that the undercover journalist took a bribe of $50,000 to drop an investigation he was carrying out on his activities.

Mohammed Hafiz Abdullah, the Dema Naa of Tamale, made this shocking revelation on Friday revealing how Anas demanded money to drop the investigation.

The Dema Naa said he was made to part with the money fearing that the investigation would bring him embarrassment so he parted with $50,000 to Anas while his friend also parted with $50,000 to complete Anas' demands of $100,000.

The revelation of his real face has set people on alert which makes Anas feel that people he has offended both rightly and wrongly are on the hunt for him.

He is said to have abandoned his home and resorted to sleeping in taxi to avoid been caught.

3 soldiers caught taking bribe from illegal miners

The Military High Command has placed three of its personnel in detention for allegedly collecting money from illegal miners.

The soldiers tried to extort money from some illegal miners in Wassa Akropong in the Western Region while on duty with Operation Vanguard.

The unnamed officers have subsequently been suspended from their duties with Operation Vanguard.

They have been placed under arrest at the 2nd Battalion of Infantry in Takoradi, a statement signed by Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, Colonel Eric Aggrey-Quashie has said.

According to the statement, “Detailed investigations are being conducted into the case and stern disciplinary action would be taken against them if found culpable”.

“The Military High Command wishes to assure the general public that under no circumstance will it condone such unprofessional conduct by any member of the Ghana Armed Forces.

“In the meantime, personnel on Operation Vanguard would continue to perform their assigned tasks to ensure that the mandate is achieved.”

Tema-based rapper, Yaa Pono has opened up on his collaboration with Stonebwoy on his hit song, “Obiaa Wo Ne Master”.

In an interview on Adom FM’s “Work and Happiness” with Ohemaa Woyeje, Thursday, the “Fake” hitmaker claimed he had penned the song long before Stonebwoy hopped onto it.

According to Yaa Pono, the assertions that the song is a diss song directed at Shatta Wale don’t hold.

“I wrote it [the song] way back; it’s not a diss song to anyone,” he insisted.

Yaa Pono is currently promoting his latest album dubbed, “Faster than Gods”.

Seven Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldierswere killed on Sunday, May 6, after their vehicle was blown off by a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

TUKO.co.ke understands two other soldiers sustained serious injuries in the incident which took place in Dhobley town, located between the border of Kenya and Somalia.

The officers are reported to have been part of a convoy which was conducting a routine surveillance exercise when their vehicle ran over the explosive.

Photos from the scene of the incident showed the vehicle which ran over the explosive extensively ripped off, with military sources indicating it was the only automobile hit by the IED.

TUKO.co.ke established the Land Cruiser which was part of the convoy patrolling from Dadaab to Dhobley, encountered the IED attack a few kilometres from Dhobley town.

Security sources on the ground indicated the IED attack was reinforced by an ambush from suspected al-Shabaab insurgents at Sheftuk between Dagalema and Dhobley areas.

However, the terror group is yet to claim responsibility for the attack, which bears the trademark of their assault.

Injured soldiers were airlifted to Nairobi for specialised treatment with the department of defence stating they will issue a detailed report about the occurrence after conducting a damage assessment.

The attack comes after several months of calm in the border area with Somalia based al-Shabaab militants strongly suspected to be behind the assault.

I had to wait a whole week to put up this piece or write-up. In my opinion, Shatta Wale’s ‘GRINGO’ is another big feat to him but to the black race, it is a total disrespect and racism.

Anyway, I would like to be brief as possible, probably just about four short paragraphs.

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, released a 7-minute music video for his song, GRINGO which depicted some level of creativity by the director and I was really enjoying it.

However, halfway through the video, a scene in which Shatta Wale arrived at a bar with his supposed white girlfriend got my attention.

The voiceover for that particular scene in the video clearly reads; “… And the devil just walked in with an angel”.

Mehn, I had to spend quality time to ponder over the statement day and night until I met another video director on set and we started talking about this “GRINGO” video.

It was through my conversation with this particular video director that I got more insight into that statement.

Yes, I must state clearly that the phrase can’t be ignored. Shatta Wale is being referred to as the devil while his white girlfriend is the angel in the video.

This is a canker we have been trying very hard to eradicate – the black man is always seen as the devil and white folk as the angel.

In the video, Shatta Wale was the devil because he’s a black guy whereas his supposed white girlfriend was the angel because she’s white.

Damn, this is a total insult to all black folks out there.

Thief surrenders to police after stolen bag got stuck to his head

An alleged thief was reportedly forced to surrender to the police after the stolen bag of goods got stuck to his head.

According to reports, upon stealing the bag filled with maize, the suspect discovered that he couldn’t place the heavy bag down and cried for help.

It was then gathered that the owner of the farm produce had made use of some voodoo charms in order to safeguard his property.

The suspect was then paraded by the police in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, after he surrendered to them and was only relieved of the burden he carried when he approached the said owner, in company of the police.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, 53, on his election as the new Chairman of the Church of Pentecost.

Mr Mahama also congratulated the Church of Pentecost on Apostle Nyamekye’s election and that of its Executive Council at the 43rd General Council Meeting of the Church.

"The overwhelming approval of the new Chairman who succeeds Apostle Opoku Nyinah is heartwarming and heralds God’s love and imminent blessings for Christians and all Ghanaians," the former president noted.

At the church's 43rd General Council Meeting, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, who is also the Koforidua Area Head passed a two-level electoral test to emerge the sixth leader of the largest Pentecostal movement in Africa.

He was presented to the College of Apostles and Prophets by the church's 15-member Executive Council for a vote. He pulled a convincing 147 'YES' against 4 'NO' in the 151-member College.

The former president also extended warm congratulations to Apostle Nyinah for completing his tenure with grace.

With over three million members in 99 countries worldwide, the Church of Pentecost over the course of more than half a century has not only significantly promoted the social, cultural and economic transformation of Ghana, but also has played and continues to play a leading role in Ghana’s enviable global recognition as a godly nation.

Popular Ghanaian media personality Akumaa Mama Zimbi has alleged that some Members of Parliament, Pastors and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in the country are deeply rooted in the practice of homosexuality.

Speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday, Mama Zimbi described homosexuality as satanic adding that it is a practice that must not be encouraged.

She told host Bola Ray that homosexuality must not be legalised in the country because God frowns upon the act.

“Homosexuality is satanic…God didn’t create man and man, but man and woman,” Mama Zimbi said Wednesday, adding “there are men of God, CEOs…and MPs who are into it.”

The popular sex educationist also advised women to educate their children on sex early so they don’t fall into the act of homosexuality.

Rex Omar calls for 'cultural warfare' to protect Ghana's identity

Veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar, has stressed the need for Ghanaians to preserve the country’s culture by protecting the music market.

According to him, Nigerians would never open up their market for easy penetration of Ghanaian music for which reason Ghanaians must judiciously guard its market.

Speaking on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z with Naa Ashorkor, the musician recalls an incident in Nigeria where Nakorex, a Ghanaian band at the time, was sacked from the stage in order to prevent the assimilation of Ghanaian music.

‘As far back as Nakorex time, I remember we went to Nigeria when one big journalist died…. I hit the stage, I sang one song. The way people were cheering, they stopped me saying this wasn’t a Ghanaian affair’, he recounted.

‘They sacked us…They wouldn’t allow us to win their audience. This was in 1995 there about’, Rex Omar added.

The Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) called for the setting of an agenda to protect Ghana’s music industry against dominance by foreign songs.

‘It is a cultural warfare out there, Nigerians will never open their market to you. A Nigerian businessman will never spend his money to promote a Ghanaian artiste, forget it….’, he said.

Rex Omar is urging all stakeholders in Ghana’s music arena to consider the ongoing protectionism of markets as a cultural warfare that must be treated with all seriousness.

The ‘Habiba’ hitmaker also supports the passage of a legislation to reduce the number of Nigerian music that can be played on Ghanaian media platforms.

He also stated that the usage of Nigerian pidgin language by young artistes in Ghana will in no way help them penetrate the Nigerian market.

How to Renew Your NHIS Membership and Subscriptions via Mobile Phone

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) says it has developed a dedicated NHIS [Unstructured Supplementary Service Data] USSD-based service for its members.

The service can be accessed by dialing short code, *842*10#, from MTN or Vodafone number, the NHIA said in a statement, promising the services would be available on all networks in due course. This will allow all active / inactive members renew their NHIS membership cards right on their mobile phone via mobile mobile

The code, *842*10#, can be used by NHIS members to check the status of their NHIS membership eligibility, NHIS benefit package and NHIS medicines list.

“NHIA is also testing the option to allow members to complete their annual membership renewals comfortably and safely from their mobile phones by using this code,” the statement said.

It said the NHIS mobile membership renewal service will be launched soon and rolled out in phases.

The NHIS has however warned its members to be vigilant against fraudulent attempts by scammers to capture their mobile money PIN code.

“Please do not share your mobile money PIN code with anyone purporting to be a representative of NHIS. (We will never ask for it),” it stressed.

NOTE : As at the time of this writing the shortcode *842*10# wasn’t working on the MTN network.
