Digging down further I discovered that the files are somehow corrupted as I had moved the files from one host to another. I uploaded files again and it solved the problem.

Also a lot of folders were not uploaded correctly.

Re-uploading all the files solved the problem.

This is a very useful feature in case you wish to write more than one post a day but would like to post them in future on regular itnervals.

To schedule a post in future, you can change the publication date from the Publish tab in right column in Admin.

While you are writing post (of if you have already saved the post then edit it) click on Edit in “Publish immediately Edit” line.

It will open date edit box. Change the date to be the one when you want to publish it and click on OK.

Next click on the Schedule to accept the changes.

Once it is done you will see that publication date is changed successfully.

Click on Update Post to save any changes and you are done.

However I could go back to the Admin and access other menus normally.

It happened when I moved my blog from one host to another.

First I thought it might be file permission problem but it turned out not to be a file permissions problem.

With Internet search and some debugging I discovered that All in SEO plugin was causing problem which I discovered by disabling all the plugin and enabling them one by one.

When I posted this problem I didn’t realize that there are many people out there facing similar issues. I’ve moved hundreds of blogs between hosts since then but I never faced this problem again.

But looking at the comments below it seems it is a common problem.

So I’m providing few more tips on solving this issue.

If you see the page goes blank after updating or posting a new post then the first thing you have to do is to do soul searching on what exactly you changed in the past.

1) Did you move your blog from one host to another?

If you have moved the blog from one host to another then the problem might be with the extra lines after the closing ?> tag in the php files.

To check it, open all the php files in root folder in any text editor/Dreamweaver place cursor after ?> and press and hold DEL key on your keyboard till you see nothing is getting deleted. This will clear out any extra spaces or lines.

Do it for the theme files as well.

If this doesn’t solve the problem then you need to find any script which can clear out extra spaces/lines after closing ?>

I don’t know any such script but you can find it easily by Googling

2) Plugins

There might be some plugin causing this problem, or some files in the plugin causing this issue. The actual cause might be moving blog from one host to another or some corruption during plugin update or WordPress update.

The solution is to disable all plugins and enable them one by one and check for the problem till you find the culprit plugin.

You can remove the culprit plugin and re install it.

To sump up this is not a very serious issue and it is more or less file corruption. So keep your head cool and sort it out with above instructions.

To do so go to admin->build->block

Enable the Navigation menu and attach it to left, right, header or footer wherever you want.

Then click on Configure against this and make it visible for authenticated user so that it shall be visible to Admin only.

You can specify which page you would like to be shown as home page from Admin->Settings->Site Information

In the Default front page: enter the node which you would like to make to be displayed on front page.

this value should be node/1 or any node which you wish to make home page.

I’ve been conceptualizing SwamiDirectory for past 6 months but I was not able to find out any free open source package to realize my dreams.

I’ve been playing with Drupal, phpLD (Paid), Wiki-type scripts and even I thought of developing it from scratch. After long search, research and trials I finally settled down for XOOPS with Web Link Module.

Time was important factor and I wanted to launch it asap. What could have been a better weekend break than Good Friday and Easter holidays which I utilized and churned out a great Directory.

I wanted SwamiDirectory to be different to be unique and stand out in the overcorwded jungle of link farms. XOOPS was an ultimate solution. Though XOOPS is not one of my favorite CMS but its Web Link module was the solution which I’ve been looking for.

Even though the website is complete, being perfectionist, I would keep it improving by adding more features.

I’ve decided to keep SwamiDirectory free and would be free in future.

XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run

when you try to move xoops installation from one host to another this error might happen as you have forgotten to modify the XOOPS_ROOT_PATH value.

To fix it, open main.php file from the root folder, search for XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and change the value to be the root path on your new host.
