Sweet Lauren Cake Pop Kits

We are so excited to share with you a new product that we have launched at Sweet Lauren Cakes…. DIY Cake Pop Kits!

These cake pop kits were truly the result of lots of deep thought- we wanted to make sure that we thought of everything you could possibly need to have the same great cake pop experience at home! What’s even better…each kit makes around 32 cake pops!

So we pulled together these fun items to get you started:

• Vanilla Bean Dry Mix (created from the very same Vanilla Recipe that we use to make our delicious baked-from-scratch cake pops).
• Creamy Frosting (also the very same delicious buttery-hint-of-caramel frosting that we use in every batch). Made from the famous Strauss Creamery butter.
• White Chocolate Melting Wafers (these are not your average Wilton or Merkens variety- these are far better tasting, and far easier to melt and dip, making your cake pop experience 100% better!)
• Cake Pop Sticks – 32 elegant 8” sticks for a sophisticated yet fun cake pop experience.
• Sprinkles, Sprinkles and more Sprinkles! 3 Different jars of sprinkles to decorate your cake pops: confetti sprinkles, multi colored decoretttes and pink sparkle sugar.

Intern with Sweet Lauren Cakes!

We have two awesome internship positions available at Sweet Lauren Cakes in San Francisco! 

We’re looking for two interns to come hang out and learn with us, one focusing on baking and decorating, and another focusing on business development and marketing. Here’s all the info for the Marketing and Business development internship, we’ll detail the bakery position soon.

We are looking for someone as unique and crafty as our product!

If any or all of the following apply to you, you should consider applying:

1. You find yourself on Pinterest, design blogs (of any kind: fashion, party, wedding) when you have a spare minute.
2. You feel like you are bursting with new and better ideas for the latest products. You believe you know what it takes to make the best product out there (or at least tell the world about it).
3. You spend your spare time on the latest DIY pretty project. Generally you could be found covered in glitter.
4. You are addicted to social media.
5. You are organized to a T.
6. You take great pictures! *Bonus: If you know how to use Adobe Photoshop.

Prove it: We want to hear about you and why you might be a great fit! Creative responses are encouraged.

1. What’s your favorite craft project?
2. What product can you not get enough of and why?
3. What is the best new product out there?
4. Favorite packaging that you have seen recently?
5. Make your own question (and answer it!).

Why Apply:  You can gain creative experience working with a start-up company in new product development, marketing development, and general biz dev. At the same time you’ll be honing your skills in event planning, blogging, accounting, crafting, editing, photographing, and designing!

Well it’s no surprise that we love all things wedding at Sweet Lauren Cakes!  So when Wedding Paper Divas contacted us for a collaboration, we squealed and jumped up and down and then said yes right away!

Many times, we have brides come to us unsure of how they’d like the cake pops to look for their wedding.  While we’re happy to show them images from all of our past weddings and make suggestions, our favorite is when we get to completely customize them for that particular couple’s special day!  One of the best ways to do this is by taking the invitation suite or colors and drawing inspiration from those designs.  Since the invitation or save the date will be your guests’ first look into your special day, it’s a great way to set the tone.   Reminding your guests of that initial impression with cake pops echoing the same designs at your reception, are a fabulous and yummy way to pull it all together!

The same could go for any event, birthday parties, baby showers, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, etc.  We can match any custom invite!

Have you heard about The Bay Lights Project? It’s a huge public art installation on the Bay Bridge here in San Francisco. 25,000 individual computer controlled white LED lights have been installed on the bridge to create mesmerizingly beautiful patterns of light that span the west side of the bay!

We’ve seen the lights being tested over the last few months, and tonight is the official grand lighting ceremony! We’re so excited that we made our very own Cake Pop version to celebrate!

Eat, Drink, and Get Married at the San Jose Museum of Art

Calling all brides!!!  We’ll be participating in the Eat, Drink, and Get Married event at the San Jose Museum of Art on Thursday, February 28th.  We’ll be there all night sharing our yummy cake pops with you and chatting about your upcoming weddings.

We received an example of our “Chocolate Lover’s” box last week and oooh’d and ahhhh’d for about an hour.  First of all, the box it arrives in is so beautiful (we’re suckers for well thought out packaging!)  Once we got over the packaging, we all enjoyed the yummy chocolate treats inside, salty sweet caramel toffee from Vosges, dark and smooth chocolate bar from Chocolove, Marich’s natural chocolate strawberries, and of course, our yummy and rich cake pops in chocolate and rich red velvet!  All perfect for Valentines Day!

The Romantic Foreign Cinema Courtyard

During our initial tasting, Lauren explained that their interests included writing, biology, Shakespeare and of course cake pops!  She wanted these elements, along with her rich fall colors to really come through on her dessert table.  So we got to work!  Exploring thrift shops for old books, test tubes, etc. we found our props for the dessert display that would come to be one of our favorites of 2012.

We contacted Foreign Cinema’s favorite florist Natalie Bowen to create a few bundles of flowers to decorate our three tiered natural wood cake pop stand.  We loved how the rich orange flowers brought out the burnt orange sparkle on our pops!  She was even able to match the bridesmaid’s bouquet and dress.
