It’s true! Ryan Lochte is on the cover of fashion bible, Vogue, with soccer star Hope Solo and my favorite tennis player, Serena Williams. And here’s the behind-the-scenes video from the cover shoot with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

So, it looks like this issue of Vogue is going to start off my 2012 Olympics magazine collection. This is serious business. I have sets of magazines from 2004 and 2008 still. Olympics nerds unite!

We would take so many pictures that it would completely drain our camera batteries. We’d need to keep spares or recharge, and sometimes even that wasn’t enough! A site like Battery Heads can help any of you, who might find yourself in a similar situation as us!

Natalie’s new TD Ameritrade spot does what almost all Olympic marketing efforts do: pull at your heart strings. It gives you a sweet look at a very young Natalie accompanied by a delicate piano tune. It’s almost as heartwarming as the new P&G Mom/Best Job film (No, seriously. Watch that one too. I dare you not to tear up!)

Also, Matt Damon did the voiceover on Nat’s commercial. How you like them apples?

It’s just so wonderful, yet so very, very unnatural! Forever, we’ve associated B-Han with Nike Swimwear. He was one of the faces for their line, which, if I recall correctly, often pissed us off. Usually when it came to marketing. But that’s neither here nor there. Nike bowed out of the competitive swimwear world a while ago. It is now a new day, and in this new era Brendan is Team Speedo!

Here’s a throwback to the Nike days. Feel free to pour out a little liquor.

I’ll admit it. I get cocky when I call football game after football game correctly. I always think to myself “man, if only I knew how to bet!” Because, let’s be honest, it aint the easiest to understand for your average sports fan. Why should betting junkies be the only ones to be in on the fun? So what if I don’t know what “take the under” and “take the points” mean?

I know people who are so into betting that they study lines and are on the phone every day trying to set themselves up for the best bet. I’m not about that life. But sometimes I just want to place a simple bet saying Team A is going to beat Team B without dealing with the big betting sites. They scare me.

I’m not above getting a little assistance, because, when it comes to betting, I need all the help I can get!

I will make my first sports bet this year. I don’t want to worry about Team USA’s outcome because of some bets. So, I’ll save it for football season, because if you know me, you know I’m beyond obsessed!

And since there are so many sports to choose from, usually overlapping in air times, you’ll need a lot of channels in order to watch all the action. I’m sure Direct TV can help! (Be sure to set up some DVR/TIVO as well!)

The last time Ohio State hosted a Grand Prix was 2010, and it was practically a ghost town. It took place over Easter Weekend and was so sad. I was there, of course, covering the event for SwimStars.org, and was the only full-time media member in press row and 1/3 total. Seriously. No one was there!

This time around, the list of National Team members attending is much higher, headlined by Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin. No sign of Mr. Vanderkaay, but we’ll be graced with the presence of familiar names such as newly engaged couple Matt Grevers & Annie Chandler, Jason Lezak, Kim Vandenberg, Whitney Burnett (née Myers), Allison Schmitt, Chloe Sutton, Mike Alexandrov, and even international star Kosuke Kitajima. Adam Ritter, who trains at Tuscon Ford, is a Columbus, Ohio native, so it should be a nice homecoming for him as well.

And stopping our presses, the Austin Staab fanclub will be back in full effect as Mr. Staab’s name is also included! We haven’t seen him for a hot minute, and we’re not sure what happened to him, but YAY!
