The Bears have given their fans a 7-2 win over the Canberra Knights in their first home game after four weeks on the road. The Bears were quick on their feet against the Knights, with defensive work that led them out of compromising situations and attacking power that constantly poked holes in the Knight's defense. The game showcased two prominent Bears players Michael Shchlamp and Tomas Landa who split 6 goals between them, earning both of them a hat trick.

Sydney have taken a 4-1 win against the Knights in Canberra. They opened the scoring in the first shift of the game when captain Mike Schlamp scored, and never looked back. Forward Vlad Rubes showed ageless class ripping a shot into the top corner, as his team built a 3-0 lead.

Sydney let Newcastle take an early lead, and the 3rd period comeback fell short

Sydney has fallen to Newcastle, most of the damage being done in the first period. The Bears allowed 4 goals before the first intermission, and it was an uphill battle from then on. They persevered, and in final push they showed what they are capable of, scoring 4 goals in 5 minutes.

Bears Coach Steve Austin said “the first period killed us". “Once you’re behind, it is hard to fight back,” he said. “But the guys came together and got some confidence after some goals.”

After beating the Dogs, Sydney were surprised by the Gold Coast for their first loss of 2012

The Blue-tongues scored early in the first period but the Bears soon levelled the score with a goal scored by Michael Schlamp and assisted by Vlad Rubes. However the Blue-tongues once again took the lead with their second goal. The Bears had some quality shooting but were unable to get past the Gold Coast goalie. Meanwhile the Blue-tongues managed to slip in three more goals before the end of the period, and the Bears only one through Vlad Rubes leaving the score at a disheartening 5 goals to 2.

The Sydney Bears have taken home a win against cross town rivals the Sydney Ice Dogs in a pre-season exhibition game

The Bears were without Captain Michael Schlamp and head coach Vlad Rubes but still managed to pull off a 5 - 2 win against the Ice Dogs at the Bears new home the Sydney Ice Arena.

The Bears were on the offensive early with the first goal scored by Czech import Tomas Landa within the first five minutes. The Bears extended their lead with Scott Clemie scoring on the rebound half way through the period making the score 2 - 0. The Dogs responded on the penalty kill with a late shorthanded goal by Joel Rhodes in the final two minutes of the 1st period.
