Caught you doing...something?

Top of the World! Well, Boulder, sort of.

It was a lot of work. Take a load off!

We stayed up top for a bit. Busy place. Girls signed the log book, of course.

Sydney spent time on the descent with Kim, who's knee was acting up. Sydney got to play rescue volunteer as Kim used Sydney on the big steps to ease herself down a bit. It got Sydney thinking totally differently and it was fun to watch. It used to be about her. Now, she was helping someone else. And she liked that.

Thanks for getting out with me today, ladies! We had some challenges but we made it just fine. I hope you will go again in 6 months. Or maybe sooner.

Sydney was playing with Kayla and showing her what to do at the beach...in case she forgot.

But apparently, Sydney got distracted and a big mean ole wave came and got her. She came walking up soaking wet crying. The tradition continues of Sydney falling into some body of water on our trips!

Kim went and bought her a bathing suit and the crisis was smoothed over at my expense. Castles?

Uh oh, the castle destroyer just showed up.

Good. Just take a nap.

So that's it for Spring Break 2012! I hope that they all had a great time. I enjoyed spending the week with them. Its good to get away and spend time together.

Our flight was delayed but we arrived back home at 3:30 AM. Everyone quickly ran to their beds and was glad to be home once again.

Finally ran into these two furballs.

We made another pass through the Princess Fair for Kayla but the big girls didn't object to going since they missed the first trip through. It was the same ladies as last time which was a bit of a bummer for our autograph book goals but oh well. We focused on the meet instead. It worked a bit better since the big girls could play middle man for Kayla to the Princess.

We spent the rest of the day re-riding a few more favorites. Kayla fell asleep so Kim opted to take her back home while I got one last Space Mountain ride in with the older two. It was a nice yet painful wait in line as we were all tired. Sydney started to bonk hard so I had to hold her. I never hold her anymore so that was weird. First off, she is heavy. But second, she is my first big girl and she has grown up quick. I remember bringing her for a 1/2 day years ago on a conference when we were in town. We met Mickey Mouse that day and life was grand. Here we are years later closing the park down. And I guarantee we will be back again soon.

Thanks, Disney. Its always worth it.

This was Sydney's boyfriend! The biggest walrus you ever saw. He was over in the corner by her. He had a mouth full of chewed fish and he would repeatedly spit them out onto the glass and suck them back in. 100 times. Weirdest thing.

Or maybe this guy was her boyfriend. She watched him for a long time too. Guess there is snow in southern California.

"Dad, can I have more money? They are hungry!" I heard that over and over as I forked out money to feed the sea lions. She has her mother's genes. So we fed the sea lions one by one.

You had to perform to get the fish. Literally.

The final stop was Shamu. Kim and I won't forget Syd's first Shamu show where she stood on her seat yelling "woo hoo" with a fist in the air whenever anything happened. This time was more subdued. She was too worried about being soaked by the big giant.

Instead, she got soaked on the water ride when she had a raincoat malfunction. You have to cinch it down and tuck it in. Learn from Reagan!

In the parking lot, Syd had a melt down because Reagan got something and she didn't. I explained about all the stuff she had gotten already. She was way in the lead. Didn't matter. It always sucks to end the day on a note like that but she popped back shortly after. Finished the day by hitting up Ghirardelli in San Diego's downtown. Yes, it was ice cream for dinner! Then we made the longish drive back to LA. We ate a later dinner at Denny's next to our hotel. So then that was breakfast for a late snack? I think the kids enjoyed that crazy parenting style. Last day at Disney tomorrow. Rest well!

We finished the night by going back over to California Adventure to hit a few rides we missed. We didn't get to ride many of them because the new water/light show was going on. But we did score some giveaway FastPasses to the best seats in the place so we enjoyed that show all together then headed home. The days are starting to wear on us but the end is in sight. The kids are troopers though. All I have to remind them is that Monday is back to school and they quickly ramp up to party more.

But of course, an old favorite that we have seen here before was still around. Shrek!

We took Kayla to this Curious George ball arena thing but the big girls probably had just as much fun there.

The big girls spent the later part of the day on some of the bigger rides like Jurassic Park and The Mummy. We ended up with a dinner on the brightly lit CityWalk before everyone melted down for the day. But they saved it by doing some shopping. Then everyone passed out in the car on the drive back to Anaheim from Hollywood.

Sydney took time to get a photo op with Woody. Still one of her favorites.

We saw this impromptu street show featuring The Incredibles. They were searching for new super heroes and Sydney got picked out of the crowd to join in. She was deemed a super hero for the day I guess. Better watch it.

We ended the night back over in Disneyland running through lots of rides with virtually no lines. But Kayla made us slow down and do a classic to top off the night.

Then the rains came and cut our day short. But we have much more to go for the week.

We got on the chairs and headed up for a day of powder! Or slush. It was in the 40s and the snow was wet and slow. Kind of sucked. Plus, it was a Monday and there were lines. They moved quick but geez. Oh well, the girls had fun with the 4-wide chairs so we could all sit together. Natalee could help one kid and I help the other with them in between us.

Being somewhere new confused Sydney right off the bat and she started falling and claiming her "skis were not working". As if somebody needed to start them or something. She found her legs shortly after. Reagan was nervous about the scale and never knew where we were headed so she was much more comfortable on the ropes. And I didn't mind much. Rather have her have a good time than spend the day teaching.

We did a good number of runs and I had the GoPro cam on for the whole day. Its a long video but nothing really stood out other than the beauty of mountains and being out there all day enjoying it. So I just posted it all for posterity. I can't believe my kids will someday be able to show their kids HD quality video from their first few seasons of skiing filmed on the slope!

The bad news...she skis like me. Self-trained and not proper but can make it down anything. I need to put her in lessons now. She thinks that is crazy. I have been explaining that she doesn't need lessons to teach her to ski. She needs lessons to take her to the next level. She knows everything Dad knows now. I have no more to teach. She's 8.

So we got there to the busiest night ever. Nice. Its just a small local place so its nice when its busy and there is some life on the ice. Some college kids came on the ice and were goofing off. Sydney thought they were nuts and hilarious at the same time. We talked a lot about college and what choices she might have there some day. Good times.
