Hailing from Mexico, Nórdika, the electronic Synthpop project of Alejandro Marin return with its third studio album to date since the start in 2008 and only one year since the previous one “Espectro Electro Magnetico”.

Nórdika deliver a very melancholic sound by mixing strong beats and catchy melodies to a moody and distinct structure. “Neurotransmisor” keep a mid-tempo approach through out the entire album, but even though it can seem repetitive, the band manage to strike with very interesting constellations with a strong atmosphere and the differences in heavier or smoother sound has its edges. Tracks like “Alas Como Lagrimas” or “Endorfina” keep a darker tone with heavier beats.

Most songs feature Spanish vocals and Alejandro definitely deliver a strong voice during its journey the band also have a couple of guest appearances. Most known is probably the US act Carved Souls with vocals from Suede F. The band came to my attention just a couple of months ago with the featured track “Dime” on the “Synthematika 4″ compilation that was released in December. It’s not often you hear Synthpop from Mexico as it more or less is the promised land of Harsh EBM. “Neurotransmisor” is definitely a very solid and strong album and Nórdika will for sure be to count with.

Synthematik presents Neurotransmisor, the brand new album of Mexico’s finest synthpop project Nórdika!
Nórdika was formed in 2008 by a talented musician, Alejandro Marin, better known under his alias Alex Nórdika. The project has quickly gained recognition in the Mexican independent electronic scene with its own vision of synthpop music in the vein of Depeche Mode, Visage, Pet Shop Boys. With a dozen of releases including two full-length albums and numerous shows played across the country, Nórdika is now a known name not only in the Latin America, but also in the USA, Russia, Germany and other countries.
On Neurotransmisor, the project’s third album, Nórdika continues to develop its own signature sound and presents the listener with lush synthpop melodies, melancholy moods and the lyrics in Spanish. The album also features collaborations with guest vocalists Alfonso Pichardo (Moenia), Suede F. (Carved Souls) and Luna Violeta.
In addition to the digital version, the album will be released on CD in the nearest future. The CD version will be the result of collaboration between Aquo Rec (Mexico), Synthematik (Russia) and Section 44 (USA).

After three long years of silence, one of Russia’s most well-renowned dark scene acts, Purple Fog Side, returns at last with Reality Awaits.

Founded in 1996 and led by Pavel Zolin, a talented musician and sound producer, the band has evolved with various line-up and stylistic changes, yet has always maintained its signature feel and sound.

Reality Awaits delivers an elegant blend of synthpop, dreampop and gothic rock, with deep melancholic lyrics performed with a captivating combination of male and female vocals. Reminiscent of artists such as Cocteau Twins, Bel Canto, Escape With Romeo and The Eden House, the album has already received many positive reviews from well-known musicians in the European scene such as Ronny Moornings (Clan Of Xymox), Martin Bowes (Attrition), Darrin C. Huss (Psyche), Robert Rich, Daniel Myer.

The album is to be released on March 26, 2013 in collaboration with two Russian labels – SkyQode (digital version) and Shadowplay (CD version). The CD version will be available in a 4-panel digipak with a solid 24-page booklet that includes a collection of unique photographs by the talented artist Sofia Skobeleva.

By the way, it features sequences taken from the band’s official music video of Crystal Castle off the Project:Rentgen album that we released back in 2010.

Четвертой частью компиляции SYNTHEMATIKA нетлейбл Synthematik открывает новую страницу своей деятельности. Если положить рядом с тремя предыдущими выпусками сборника новый, то на лицо заметен более зрелый серьезный подход к подбору материала и четко сформировавшаяся концепция. При всей успешности предыдущих выпусков на фоне этой части они выглядят приторной солянкой, сумбурным нагромождением, имевшихся в распоряжении составителей, треков, число достойных внимания среди которых было весьма незначительным. Теперь же, видимо сказалась популярность серии и число желающих принять участие увеличилось, что привело к появлению выбора у составителей, благодаря чему количество проходных треков здесь совсем не велико. Особенно лично меня порадовало практически полное исключение бездумного «долбилова», которое имело свое место в ранних выпусках. Dark electro вниманием не обделено, но в этот раз такая музыка более взвешена, и, за счет некоторой фильтрации, представлена вполне достойными экземплярами.

Так что я оказался очень доволен новой главой в творчестве Synthematik. И считаю, что из всех четырех новый сборник получился лучшим.

Отмечу несколько треков вызвавших у меня бурю восторга и надолго закрепившихся в моем плейлисте.

Открывает компиляцию уже привычно проект, к которому причастен Rush, на этот раз это UNITY ONE с уже порядком поднадоевшим, но все еще горячо любимым хитом “Tomorrow”. Честно говоря, ожидание дебютного альбома проекта становиться уже не выносимым, а попытки убавить предвкушение такими SNTK4 версиями уже начинает возмущать.

В очередной раз порадовал одессит GINGER SNAP5 своей эксклюзивной вещью “Butterfly is a fish”. Эта аллегория въелась в сознание не только мне, но и моей супруге, не разделяющей моих музыкальных вкусов, причем в ее случае помимо ее воли. Редко встретишь такой удачный пример «джага-джага» в синтетической музыке. Кстати этот проект тоже зарекомендовал себя как кузницу хитов, в очередной раз подтвердив данное утверждение.

Отличным примеров synth-pop в его классическом понимании становиться песня немецкого проекта NOTOY (своеобразного написания которого я повторить не смогу) под названием “Feelings drowned”. Это мой личный фаворит, и на мой субъективный взгляд лучший трек на сборнике. В данный момент нахожусь в активном поиске альбома “Proxima”.

Еще одним примером хорошего synth-pop является британский коллектив SPACEBUOY (я думал, что на фотографии парни с аккордеоном) и американцы MEND. Лично меня их песни подкупили очень красивой фортепианной мелодией, выведенной на первый план.

Ну а любителям future pop а-ля VNV NATION следует обратить внимание на американцев RUINED CONFLICT.

Кстати, есть тут еще и MENTAL DISCIPLINE со своим ремиксом на “Crossroads” с дебютной пластинки FROZEN PLASMA. Не смотря на одинаковый подход к аранжировке музыки, в исполнении российского музыканта, песня получилась совсем другой. Хотя, на мой взгляд, хлесткий и резковатый оригинал был более интересен. Но работу Александра нельзя не отметить.

Как я уже и говорил вторая часть компиляции, где по задумке авторов собраны более агрессивные стороны темной сцены, тоже умудряется сконцентрировать на себе внимание. SHADOW SYSTEM, TERROTEK X и SLEETGROUT как будто подхватывают под руки и заставляют притопывать в такт. А такие серьезные и мрачные вещи как треки SIN.THETIC SQUAD и еще одного моего фаворита SYNCRAFT, сказать по правде, я вообще не надеялся здесь услышать.

Итак, в очередной раз выражаю искреннюю благодарность всем, кто принимал участие в работе над этим релизом. Ребята, вы делаете большое дело и находитесь на пути заметного прогресса. Надеюсь, что на достигнутом вы не остановитесь и никакие внешние факторы не нарушат ваших далекоидущих планов. Даешь хорошую музыку!

The album will be released in collaboration with Russia’s oldest gothic label Shadowplay Records – they will take care of the CD version. SkyQode will manage the digital version. Release date to be announced soon.

Synthematik presents a redux version of Decaying Society, the debut album of the Siberian EBM / industrial band Nexus VI!
Decaying Society was originally self-released by the band in 2006. It was comprised of tracks written by Neuromancer, the mastermind of Nexus VI, during 2001-2006 under the influence of such electro-industrial gurus as Velvet Acid Christ, Haujobb, Front Line Assembly. The album received generally positive feedback from listeners.
For the redux version of the album all the original tracks were remastered, some of them were completely reworked and rerecorded.
The paid version of the release features two bonus tracks: a remix from Freaky Mind and the instrumental version of the track Behind Enemy Lines.

Synthematik представляет обновленную версию дебютного альбома Decaying Society одной из старейших российских EBM / industrial групп Nexus VI!
В оригинале альбом Decaying Society был выпущен силами группы в 2006 году. Он состоял из треков написанных мастермайндом проекта Neuromancer’ом за период с 2001 по 2006 под влиянием таких electro-industrial грандов как Velvet Acid Christ, Haujobb, Front Line Assembly. После выпуска альбом получил много положительных отзывов и на данный момент стал достаточно большой редкостью.
