We will be upgrading our core database server to increase system performance which will allow us to roll out further improvements in the system (including updates to the search tool).

The first stage of this will be moving the Tactile CRM database to a new server. To do this we will be taking the system offline at 06:00am (GMT+1) on 29/5/2011 and Tactile CRM will be unavailable for up to 3 hours whilst we perform this move. We will keep you posted on the progress at here (and we hope it will take less time than this).

Once the new database server is in place we will then be able to look at rolling out the new functionality in the coming weeks/months.

Bulk adding of activities is now live on all accounts and lets you easily add an activity to multiple Organisations, People or Opportunities.

This is a great way to schedule a number of phone calls or activities for members of your team or maybe you have another use – just let us know in the comments.

Multiple opportunity contacts is a great way to record all the extra contacts that are working on an opportunity with you. It might be you want to record the people who are ‘Decision Makers’ and ‘Budget Holders’, or the a certain company will be a ‘Supplier’ or competitor.

To allow us to do this we need to undertake some database maintainence prior to the upgrade. This pre-upgrade maintenance will take place on Sunday 12th December at 6.30am GMT for up to two hours.

Tactile CRM will be unavailable for this period.

Once this maintenance has been completed we will schedule in the full system upgrade.

We are pleased to announce that the import and export tools (you can find them linked on the right hand side on the organisations, people, opportunities and activities tabs) now allows you work with any custom fields you have setup.

The next stage is to add better search results and potentially look at including notes etc. in the search results. If you'd like to give us some ideas you'd like to see in the search, or elsewhere in the product, just visit our feedback forum and let us know.

But that’s not all – as this was a feature suggested by our users we also added the feeds to each organisation, person, opportunity and activity within Tactile CRM!

A really simple sales tool with RSS – how it works

If you’ve not come across RSS before it’s a neat tool to keep up to date with ‘feeds’ or lists of information. There are lots of tools that will help you read RSS, including many of the popular web browsers.

What this means for you – well now you can keep up to date with the information you and your team are keeping within Tactile CRM without having to login. Simple click the handy ‘Subscribe’ button on your dashboard or wherever you see a timeline and you will be kept up to date with the information being entered, it’s a really simple sales tool to help you keep up to speed with what’s going on.

Some of the most requested features on our feedback forum has been the ability to:

• Jump to a specific page in search results on the overview pages
• Change the number of items listed on the overview pages
• Jump to a specific letter in the items listed on the overview pages

All three of these features are now available within Tactile CRM. All you need to do is click on the new ‘Spanner/Wrench’ icon in the paging area and handy popup will appear to allow you to choose/set your options:

You don’t need to do anything to enable this new feature, as with all our updates they are applied automatically to your account, and remember – if there is a feature you would like to see in Tactile CRM, just let us know!
