Enjoy the pictures (if at all possible) and this simple recipe for spaghetti and meatballs by Jamie Oliver while I try to unlock this particular Pandora's Box with a Rubik's Cube shaped enigma inside.

Other food bloggers can empathize with me on this one and these 2 assumptions are of course...false. I'm not eating fancy, complex or Keller-esque stuff every single meal. Heck, most of the stuff I make for the site isn't that complex to begin with!

I'll be honest - chicken can get a little boring.

...and let me finish before you start throwing tomatoes, eggs and coconuts over this way! Even though I much prefer pork and beef over everyone's favorite (eating) bird, I actually like roast chicken - a lot! What's not to like about roast chicken? It's easy, it's fast, it's tasty and it's cheap.

There won't be a Wordless Wednesday post today.

February 24th is a special day for me. One filled with sorrow, memories and unfortunate regrets. Because on this day last year, my friend T - my very first friend growing up in Canada - passed away.

I don't have the answer to all of your questions and I won't pretend to know something when I really don't. But given the opportunity and time - I will find you the answer and I'm damn good at keeping my promises. Determination and integrity aside, the other thing I'm pretty good at is multitasking.

It can get pretty challenging trying to find ethnic food that's not slutty Chinese, bad Tex-Mex or $1 maki rolls in Athens. So when that inevitable craving for juicy, slow-roasted meat descends down to your stomach, you head over to Keba Spitfire Grill on the East side.

With respect to the Atlanta food blogging scene, there are 2 people in particular who I'm really thankful for. Gene from Eat, Drink, Man... and Chloe from Chow Down Atlanta. Through Gene-hyung, I was able to meet Chloe and through Chloe I was able to meet a lot of cool food people in this city. French onion soup.

It holds a special place in my heart. This soup...this wonderful, rich soup was the first non-Korean food I tasted as a little boy growing up in Korea. I still remember sitting down at TGI Friday's at the naive age of 5 and being told (more like forced really) to eat this by my mother.

"Here, eat this." she said as she pushed this odd looking concoction in front of me.

meal for one: moules marinières - les halles

This post shouldn't be going up now.

...but it is. Because if I don't write this now, I'll forget about what I wanted to say (sometime next week) and I'll end up hating myself for procrastinating.

I can't really recall how I found Sophia's blog but I was hooked by her passionate posts about overcoming her past of ED (that's eating disorder not...the other thing). Late last year, I started my Les Halles series - my adventure to cook through Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles Cookbook. It's been awhile since I last updated my series so I decided to cook a recipe out of the book on Monday for a new episode of No Reservations.

On this particular night, my stomach led me to Bourdain's côte de porc à la charcutière. Sounds fancy and intimidating doesn't it?

wordless wednesday

I love my french fries, hash browns and mashed potatoes but most days out of the year, I prefer sweet potatoes instead. Maybe it's the fact they're healthier for you, the delicate sweetness or the diverse varieties of sweet potatoes. Whatever the reason, it's one of my favorite vegetables to eat.
