Public Comment Period Ends for Proposed Rule to Create a Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver Process

Today the formal public comment period closes for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers of Inadmissibility for Certain Immediate Relatives rule. The proposed rule, published in the Federal Register on April 2, 2012, proposes a new filing process for certain immediate relatives of U.S. Citizens (i.e. spouses, children, and parents) who seek a waiver of inadmissibility for unlawful presence in the United States.

Gwinnett County Public Library is gearing up for this year’s Summer Reading Program: Dream Big! Kids and teens can enjoy free programs, activities, and a chance to enter into the 529 Plan for College sweepstakes now through the end of August. Last year over 38,000 kids enrolled in the library’s Summer Reading Program, and this year $400,000 worth of prizes and incentives have been donated by local businesses to encourage young readers.

The Hudgens Center for the Arts in Duluth will be the home for four exciting new exhibits this summer, all opening on June 5, including DRAWN: From Athens; Summer Sk8; the second annual Pulp Fashion: The Art of the Paper Dress; and the fourth annual Altered Books. Following an Exhibition Reception on Saturday, June 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., all four exhibits will remain on display through the summer, closing on August 25. The reception is open to the public.
