Author Interview  Damiano de Sano Iocovozzi: Restoring Sanity to your End-of-Life Care

Damiano de Sano Iocovozzi is a world traveler, linguist and family nurse practitioner and works with hospice care. From an early age, growing up in upstate New York, he was fascinated with languages, the spirit of giving and knowledge of other cultures and countries.

I interviewed Damiano recently to find out more about him and his new book, ‘Sooner or Later: Restoring Sanity to Your End of Life Care‘.  We discuss hospice care, and how to care for a loved one in your home.   You can watch Damiano’s interview here.

About the Book…

In large print for easy reading, the book includes pertinent questions to ask specialists. It is written in accessible language which empowers patients and their families to seek the appropriate level of care.

To date, no other book offers the information and tools to take control of this situation and make informed decisions about gaining the best possible care. Damiano has applied his knowledge of the caring environment to produce a breakthrough text dealing with these sensitive issues. His book covers ethical issues, treatment, psychological coping strategies and how to go forward having been diagnosed.

About the Author

Damiano de Sano Iocovozzi completed years of language study and work in Italy, France and Germany. Later, he became a Peace Corps Volunteer and served in a small high school in Meknes, Morocco

After the Peace Corps, Damiano traveled to San Francisco, California where he worked as an international tour director, leading organized tours around the world. However, Damiano found his true calling becoming a registered nurse and clinical nurse specialist upon earning his degree from the University of San Francisco. During the AIDS epidemic, he specialized in caring for the very sick on a local AIDS hospital floor.

Damiano completed a post-Master’s certificate as a family nurse practitioner from Samuel Merritt University, where he worked as an instructor for nine years. He also worked as a clinical nurse specialist and educator for Summit Hospital in Oakland. He served veterans as a family nurse practitioner for a number of years in Vallejo, California. Damiano worked in a number of small clinics in primary care and cardiology in Palm Springs, California, where he currently lives.

As an ordained minister, Laura has been performing spiritual ceremonies for over fifteen years, and speaks publicly on issues including human rights, sexual abuse, teen suicide, homelessness, depression, healing the past and learning to ‘thrive, rather than survive.’

Well, now we have! I interviewed DeDe Murcer Moffett recently, and she told me about the inspiration behind her slogan ‘Snap out of it’ – a personal mantra which is the cornerstone of her whirlwind of motivational speaking, radio talk show hosting and music recording.

DeDe shares her story with us, and explains that she had a ‘Snap out of it’ moment a few years ago, when she had suffered from alcoholism for 24 years. DeDe runs a radio talk show which features some superb motivational and inspirational messages. She has also recorded a CD of inspirational music designed to awaken us all to our personal capabilities when it comes to achieving our dreams.

Live the Life You Want Not by Doing, But by Being…

About Edward Jones

Edward was born in to a difficult family, and experienced a number of traumatic events including neglect and bullying. He joined the navy, got married and had a child. Through events such as losing his job and getting divorced, Edward gained a vast amount of life experience which informs his current work.

Edward has developed a way to approach the action of self-transformation by using truth as the springboard. We each have the ability to be 100% responsible for ourselves thereby creating a new way of being. By observing our thought processes and making no thought invented changes, we move our self out of the known and into the unknown. The Chance To Host a TV Show

Oprah Winfrey - offering the opportunity to host a TV show

Oprah and reality TV super producer Mark Burnett (who came up with Survivor and The Apprentice) are joining forces in search of the next big TV star. They are looking for someone with a big personality, who will be chosen to host their own show, on their own. Oprah is offering people the opportunity to audition online or in person, and pitching a great idea. It has to be creative and fun, and have the potential to rock the world.

My Pitch for the Show

You know how I am, by now and what I stand for. Talking Purpose is all about exploring life’s purpose, and providing resources for the spiritually-perplexed to make sense of their life. Over the time I have been running this site, I have come in to contact with some incredible people ranging from authors, spiritual thinkers, gurus and philosophers. My role has been to search out amazing ideas and concepts, and bring them to you, to broaden your knowledge (and my own at the same time).

I am interested in consciousness, the relationship between creativity and your life purpose, and how we use that relationship to inform our choices and get to a place of spiritual satisfaction and peace. My aim is to get people to make a living doing what they love, and explore metaphysical ideas and psychology to help answer some basic questions. These questions are:

• How are we?
• Why are we here?
• What happens when we die?
• Can we create our reality or is it all pre-destined?
• What is the relationship between creativity and entrepreneurship?
• Do you have to be spiritual to invoke intention?

By finding extraordinary voices in the universe that throw light on these questions, I hope to provide a valuable resource for us all to help us find our own spiritual path and promote individual happiness and fulfillment.

The concept of Divine Coalescence.

Divine Coalescence is the process Tom uses to describe how people achieve their ideal place in the world, and discover their true calling. By interviewing Marlise, I got to find out much more about the person behind the product, and gained a great overview of who she is and what she does.

A brief biography of Marlise Karlin…

Marlise’s own spiritual journey was fueled by the limitations of her dramatic childhood circumstances – growing up with an alcoholic parent, becoming a teenage runaway, substance abuser and then a young single mother.

She later transformed herself into a successful entrepreneur and award-winning film producer. In 2001, a series of profound experiences completely shifted Marlise’s perception of life forever.

After a period of integration, Marlise was then guided to start sharing The Simplicity of Stillness with the world. Identified by SheKnows.com as an inner-peace expert, Marlise is also an ongoing contributor to The Huffington Post and Malika Chopra’s Intent.com Wellness blog.
