Being a HiShop Beauty Ambassador, one of the item I've gotten for review purpose is Touch In Sol Natto Mask Pack.

Touch In Sol Natto Mask Pack

The Natto mask is supposed to help my skin retain its natural moisture levels as it exfoliates and replenishes dry skin. Proteins and fatty acids from fermented soybeans provides intense hydration, with lotus flower extract leaving skin silky smooth.

After opening the packaging and took out the mask, I immediately noticed that the texture of the mask is quite thick, it makes wonder if its a good thing or not. Smell wise, it is mild and pleasant =) Size of the mask is very important for me since most of the masks I've used cannot cover my whole face. Glad this one covers the whole face.

After a few minutes though, the mask started to fall off due to the texture. The mask sheet also dried up but luckily my face is still hydrated.

How to use:

After cleansing, pat face dry and put on toner.
Take the mask out from packaging and unfold it.
Gently spread over face and pat gently.
Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and remove the mask.
Gently pat remaining collagen essence until fully absorbed. No need to wash.

I was so busy taking care of grandma in hospital last month that I don't even have the time and mood to apply moisturizer. Yes, I'm serious. But at the same time, I felt guilty for abandoning my skin like that so I decided to open a pack of O'slee Rosehip Whitening Mask to try.

I'm surprised that the mask is wider than those I've tried before, which is a plus point because my face is wider than most girls so now the mask can finally cover my whole face! Haha!

With Rosehip extracts and Papain which helps to whiten my skin and eliminate imperfections, my skin feels smoother and moisturized. Malaysia 13th General Election #GE13

As all Malaysians know, today, 5th May 2013 is Malaysia's 13th General Election Day aka #GE13. Many Malaysians including me have been feeling very nervous since yesterday night! I purposely woke up at 8am to prepare myself and a browse through Facebook in early morning gave me a shock! So many friends of mine already voted and many of them reported long queue everywhere!! I hurriedly ate my bread and dash out from Cheras to Sekolah Rendah Agama Kampung Puah (Sekolah Rendah Bilal bin Rabah). KIASU!

But by the time I reached, the queue already very long T_T

Luckily my dad brought me an umbrella from the car (Thanks dad!). I waited for around 30 minutes in the queue. Suddenly, everyone moved into the school quite fast and then it hit me. WE DON'T NEED TO QUEUE WAN! =.=" Yeah, we actually don't need to queue into the school... we can just walk in. The place became crowded because people go check their voting channel (Saluran) and No. Siri only. Those who already knew these info can proceed to queue up according to their Saluran.

Ahhhh what a long queue! And can you see how sunny it is?

Seriously, I almost fainted from the heat as I've been standing near the window for more than 30 minutes! The flow should be more in control and police should guide us instead of just looking and watching. The voters around me were very friendly though, chatted with quite a number of them. That's a very good environment =)

Warga emas queuing to vote but... where's the line?

My father was lucky because he's considered as warga emas so he doesn't need to queue up much. Or so I thought. Turned out that the police failed to make the voters queue up in one line! See the photo above! My dad also said there are some impatient voters who push around and insisted to vote together with their gang =.= No bangla spotted at the time I voted though, which is a good thing.

After the long wait, finally done my role as a voter! *proud*

Used tissue to wipe off as much indelible ink as possible after taking photo using my phone camera outside the school. Time taken definitely more than 1 minute lor... who said it was supposed to dry completely in 3 seconds?

Anyways, tapau-ed Ayam Goreng McD home for lunch to reward myself. Don't dare to use left hand to eat cos scared the indelible ink is poisonous. But still, it's very hard to eat chicken single-handedly so I still use it to hold the chicken bone. To my horror, the ink came off when in contact with the oil! :O

See? Almost no more ink already!

I saw that the person from SPR said that he's not worried that the indelible ink will come off quick because we cannot vote tomorrow and our names have been crossed off. Yes, I know. But the thing now is, why you spent so much money buying some inks that we can wash off easily? Use marker pen only la!

actually braised rice cake. I got to know about it when watching Running Man!

After curing my stomach, continue to pamper myself again hehe! The queue for manicure is kinda long but it's totally worth the wait! Product Review: Avène Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser

After attending Avène's beauty workshop some time ago, I started to grow interest towards their products. If it's good enough for sensitive skin, it should be good enough for non-sensitive skin like mine right? Thanks to OnlyBeauty, I had the chance to sample Avène Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser!

I've had oily skin since young, severe acne since Form 3 and now still got some breakouts here and there occasionally. Normally my face will turn shiny 1 hour after washing (yes, it's that fast) so I'm finding ways to decrease the secretion of sebum.

Smell: Mild fresh scent like ocean breeze. It gives a therapeutic effect to the mind~

Color: Light ocean blue

Results: I'm surprised that Avène Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser can control oil really well and not drying at the same time! As Avène focuses on mildness and is soapless to ensure that their product doesn't aggravate sensitive skin, be prepared that the lather produced is quite mild. It wasn't a problem for me though, I pour a bit of the cleanser on my damp hands and add some water if it doesn't lather enough =)

One of the destinations during Eat, Play & Drive with Nissan Almera is Pantai Klebang! Honestly, I've never heard of this place before... I wished I knew it sooner! The view was simply amazing, I felt so excited when I saw the beach and can't wait to get down and have a stroll along =)

I have not met some bloggers since last year, can you believe it? Thanks to Careen, I was invited to this event and catching up with everyone was fun!

WeChat is a mobile app for text and voice messaging developed by Tencent in China. As at January 2013, they now boast a 300 million user accounts!

With WeChat, users can communicate via text messaging, hold-to-talk voice messaging, broadcast (one-to-many) messaging, video-chat, photo/video sharing, location sharing and contact information exchange. So cool!

Nadeje Patisserie Cafe is one of the most-visit places in Melaka that is famous for their sinful and delicious Mille Crepes. I was pretty excited as this would be my first time visiting Nadeje! My friends have been posting photos and their food adventure here which made me want to come here someday and try all the Mille Crepes!

Flying Experience with Aeroline

Normally, I would drive down to Penang and back but it's only economical if you're fetching more people cos you can share the costs. Further more, it's really really tiring to drive around 400 km!! How can you enjoy the trip when you're already so tired from driving? >__<

So, le boyfie and I decided to take a bus back to KL from Penang since my friend who drove us there went back earlier... but all the news about bus accidents kinda freaked us out and therefore, we only select trusted companies like Aeroline. Before this, I only knew that Aeroline provides bus service to/from Singapore but a friend in Penang informed us that they do provide transport to/from Penang too! *joy*

As we're tech savvy people, we kinda like to do everything online LOL! So we booked and paid for our seats via https://www.aeroline.com.my/ and print out the confirmation page in order to redeem the exact ticket on the actual date. Later on, we got to know that we actually just need to save down the Reference No. so we can save some papers next time!

Update on Grandma's Condition (Part 3)

Continuing from Update on Grandma's Condition (Part 2)...

2 March 2013
I went home last night to get some rest while mum stays there. Nose is bleeding quite frequently now so I decided to see doctor before going to visit grandma. Apparently, it's nothing serious and is quite common. Doctor said it needs 2-4 weeks for the tissue to repair. That explains why it always recur. I always stop touching my nose for 1 week max only.

Waiting to do the procedure in late evening felt like a long wait. We were glad that it was successful but still need to wait 3 days more only know whether it did help the bile to flow or not. Doctor was worried that the bile is too thick and might make the metal stent stuck as well so there's now a tube on grandma's right stomach, just in case if they need to remove the stent or what, then they don't need to puncture again. She was shivering badly when she came out from the procedure room. We tried to cover her with 4 blankets but to no avail. She also said that it was very painful since the doctor didn't use much anesthetic on her, considering the risk based on her age. I overnight here to take care of her. When she needs to pee, I need to help her slot in the bed pan and throw away the urine after that. The arms on my muscle also felt pain cos I've been supporting her up from the bed too many times.

Went home to sleep last night and when I reached grandma's room, mum told me her wound is bleeding. DAFUQ! Apparently, grandma lowered her body while passing motion, making it bleed. They didn't know it was bleeding until they saw blood on the attire. Luckily the blood stopped by itself and now hope that there won't be any infection. Instead of using bed pan, we opted adult diapers instead but we need to help her change and clean ourselves.

At night, mum tried to pick a fight with me. I really really can't stand her. No matter how I ignore her, she still won't give up in picking a fight with me. Imagine there's an annoying fly that keeps bugging you. She's supposed to be there to take care of grandma but all she did was walking back and forth with no clear purpose, fiddling with her plastic bags and opening the tap to max which made a lot of noise! How can the patient rest with so much noise? It even annoyed me until my chest is hurting. Out of frustration, I stomped out from the room. Seeing us arguing, grandma cried and mum started to blame everything on me instead of blaming herself for starting it first. And she still continue to mumble in front grandma while I just kept quiet. It's actually my shift today but mum said she's worried so she insists to stay overnight as well. But tell me, did she helped or worsen everything?

Doctor is going to scan the metal stent to see if it performs as intended and if everything is OK, they will remove the plastic tube outside. I accompanied my grandma until outside of the procedure room. While waiting, I was browsing through a magazine provided there when suddenly, emergency light and beeping sound was heard from my grandma's procedure room. I got panicked when I heard an announcement saying it's "Code Blue" and requested all imaging department staff to rush in. My heart totally sank, not knowing what's happening inside. After a while, I got to know from a staff that she experienced respiratory arrest and they had to help her do CPR. Luckily she managed to regain conciousness. However, she is suffering from low blood pressure, her diastolic reading is only 40-55. Due to this, the nurses would need to come in and check her blood pressure every 1 hour - which means no quality sleep tonight.

One of Tung Shin Hospital's physician, Dr. Kuan came to grandma's room to check the cause of grandma's low blood pressure. He said cancer will affect the blood pressure and if her blood pressure suddenly drops a lot or her heart suddenly stops beating then she might pass away anytime so we must be prepared and he said he thinks still got another few months left only (!!!). When I said Dr. Nandy mentioned he estimated 2 years more, I said he don't think so T__T

He asked us to discuss with family members whether to resuscitate her or not if this happens. I said we sure wanna try to save her first ma... if she feels suffer and can't take it only let go la... but he said by that time maybe she can't talk and unconscious already so she won't be able to decide herself and this will only prolong her pain. In the meantime, he will give her some medication to increase her blood pressure. Went home for a while to change and planned to take a nap but at the end no time to take nap. I can't help but to cry while praying. I only wish that grandma can have another 2 years to spend. I'm willing to give her 2 years from my life. Anyone knows where to do this?

So doctor has confirmed from the result of ultrasound and CT scan that there is a tumor at the common bile duct. In order to know the exact location of the tumor, endoscopy must be done and finally they gave in. If possible, doctor will insert a plastic tube in the common bile duct to let the bile flow. Nothing will be done today as endoscopy will only be done tomorrow. I had a really rough night. It's very uncomfortable to sleep on a lazy chair since my legs are very long and the metal made my ankles uncomfortable.

What a long wait. Endoscopy was at 4pm. The nurse asked one of us to wait outside the room just in case if the doctor needs to ask anything and mum volunteered. After the endoscopy, mum said doctor mentioned that the space left in grandma's common bile duct is too small to even insert a plastic tube cos the tumor is too big and the only option left now is to do a stenting procedure whereby a metal stent (or more) need to be inserted from her abdomen and connect to the liver (something like that) in order for the bile to flow. Through mum, I also knew that doctor said she won't be able to last long. Mum seemed to disagree to undergo this procedure cos she said that the doctor mentioned there is risk and she's afraid grandma might not be able to wake up again after injected with anesthetic. So I asked her "won't be able to last long means how long?" and "got risk means high or low?". All also she said dunno. I kinda regret letting her follow grandma along. If I was there, I will surely ask him very clearly. She also assumed that when doctor said "If she is younger, then things would be easier" as a sign that the doctor doesn't recommend her to undergo the procedure. I insisted to see the doctor again and ask clearly first before deciding. I just couldn't trust my mum. Mum said that the doctor will not be back for consultation anymore cos if we wanted to do the procedure, another doctor (visiting doctor from UMMC) will be doing it. I nearly lost my mind. Luckily I confirmed with the nurses and they said Dr. Nandy will be coming tomorrow morning (now you know why my mum is untrustable). And when she discusses with my uncles, I said I want to be there also cos I'm scared she might simply convey false information to my uncles and persuade them to disagree with this procedure. To me, I'd rather take the risk (if it's not too high) than to wait die. Don't you agree?

I felt extremely sad and it's really hard to act tough in front of grandma. Thinking that I might lose her soon makes me wanna cry.

Dr. Nandy finally came. Armed with the questions that I've already prepared in Evernote, I fired all the questions to him and I'm glad that he has cleared the air for us. All questions were answered professionally. Apparently, stenting is recommended and the risk is not high. All procedures and surgeries also sure got risk, it's just whether the risk is high or low. The example I gave my mum is: Doing revision doesn't guarantee that you will pass your exams. Will you not study? There's a risk you might fail even if you do revision! Luckily my grandma agreed to do and my mum also gave in after listening to doctor's clarification. I can go home to rest tonight while mum spends the night at hospital. Update on Grandma's Condition (Part 1)

Mum asked me to drive grandma to Tung Shin Hospital and consult the Chinese doctor there. They have previously went to Gleneagles Hospital for ultrasound and X-Ray at the abdomen/liver area and doctor confirmed that something has blocked her common bile duct but not sure it's tumor or gallstone unless she do endoscopy. When they were there, I didn't follow but according to them, doctor said need to undergo surgery (I highly doubt that, maybe he was saying a procedure but mum thought it is surgery) and they didn't want it cos mum is afraid grandma might not be able to wake up again after sedated. They didn't even wanna do an endoscopy that requires a mild sedation. In the end, the Chinese doctor said it's gallstone by just looking at the X-Ray (I doubt it's accurate). He said he wouldn't be able to help much since this requires a procedure so he told us don't need to look for alternative anymore and straight seek medical help from Western doctor instead.

Since we need to wait 2.5 hours for the Chinese medicine to boil, they decided to go over to the Western department for a second checking just in case the first one isn't accurate. From the information counter, we were referred to Dr. Ashim Nandy, a specialist in General Surgery, Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and G1 Surgery. He recommended that grandma to be hospitalized and go on IV drip since she always feel nauseous and has no appetite to eat solid food. Within a month or two, she has became very very thin. It hurts to see that all that was left on her is skin and bone, no more meat nor fat. Besides, she also has jaundice that made her skin and urine turned yellow.

After waiting from 1pm til 6pm, it was finally grandma's turn. I accompanied her until the outside of imaging room for her to do ultrasound and CT scan. Since it's already so late, we will only know the result tomorrow. Going to overnight in hospital tonight.

Great food is never enough! Don't you agree? That's why I always feel excited when there are new eateries opening around me! It just gives everyone more choices and with competition, the food scene can be improved! That being said, I'm here to announce a great news to all ramen lovers in Kuala Lumpur - HAKATA IPPUDO ramen is finally here!

If you haven't known, IPPUDO was founded in 1985 at Japan by Shigemi Kawahara, the internationally renowned Ramen King and CEO of Chikaranomoto Company, which encompasses some of Japan’s finest restaurants. Today, there are over 65 stores in Japan, and globally in places such as New York, Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea and Shanghai. IPPUDO has become the most popular ramen restaurant over the years.

Goma Q is a refreshing and cold appetizer made of fresh cucumber slices topped with sesame and chilli flakes. The special sauce gives it a sweet flavor, enhancing the taste of this crunchy appetizer. Great choice for health concious people!

Fried Young Corn

Curry Cheese Haru Maki

Fans of fried food might wanna try Fried Young Corn, a garlic-flavored deep-fried young corn with seaweed seasoning and Curry Cheese Haru Maki, deep fried spring rolls with a plate of curry cheese sauce to dip in. The Japanese curry cheese sauce is very addictive and the cheese blended very well in the sauce. Definitely a great snack!

Pork Bun

From the time we saw the menu, Pork Bun is the most anticipated appetizer of all! Apparently, it's an all-time favorite in IPPUDO! It certainly didn't let me down as the steamed bun was soft and fluffy and most importantly, the succulent braised pork tastes very good coupled with IPPUDO’s original sauce.

Spicy Shrimp Mayo
Price: RM 15

The lightly battered shrimps in Spicy Shrimp Mayo was deep fried and eaten with their home-made spicy mayonnaise dip. I love the texture of the succulent and fresh prawn oozing with sweetness although the mayonnaise doesn't really tastes spicy.

Hakata-style Soup Gyoza

Hakata-style Soup Gyoza is a great alternative to the dry pan-fried gyoza as this one is boiled gyoza that comes with IPPUDO’s original tonkotsu broth plus some added ginger! Perfect for soup lovers, it's smooth and flavorful!

And now, let's head to the ramen department, shall we?

Shiromaru Motoaji
Price: RM 26

The most classic Hakata-style ramen, Shiromaru Motoaji is definitely a must-try especially if you're a first timer because I believe that the classic one should be good enough or else you can forget about the rest. They're serving ultra thin noodles in IPPUDO’s original tonkotsu broth with belly chashu, bean sprouts, kikurage & spring onions. The tonkotsu broth was flavorful but yet not too thick, making it less salty compared to other ramen chains like Yamagoya ramen. Belly chashu has a good balance of fat, some to melt in the mouth and some to chew.

Akamaru Shinaji
Price: RM 28

Akamaru Shinaji is known as the refined, modern-style ramen as they have enhanced the IPPUDO original tonkotsu broth with special blended miso paste, chilli and fragrant garlic oil to suit local taste that demands mild spiciness in their classic recipe. I'd certainly choose this as tummy warmer on a cold rainy day!

Karaka-men
Price: RM 28

Karaka-men was the spiciest among all 3 ramens that I've tried since it is categorized as 'IPPUDO Spicy Tonkotsu' in the menu. IPPUDO’s original tonkotsu broth was mixed with special spicy miso and served with ground pork and spring onions. As a person who has low tolerance towards spicy food, I think it is still tolerable but I would prefer Akamaru Shinaji more.

The one thing I love most is their service. Noticing that we took quite a long time shooting the ramen, they offered (and insisted) to change a new bowl for us because they wanted us to try it as soon as it was served because leaving it for too long will affect the texture of the ramen to become soggy and coarse. Although customers are allowed to choose whether they want the ramen to be soft, normal or hard, but the staffs strongly recommend that we order the hard one. The reasoning is because normally Malaysians will take some photos, cool off our food by blowing on it, etc. so after all these gestures, the texture of ramen will be in best consumption condition if you order it hard.

Maggi Goreng @ Restoran Yunus Khan aka Jiao Sai

Many Penangites have been raving about the Maggi Goreng here at Restoran Yunus Khan. Among the Chinese, it is better known as 'Jiao Sai' which means bird shit. Why bird shit? From the story I've heard, the restaurant is called 'Jiao Sai' due to their old location at Jalan Phee Choon where birds always poo poo there! LOL! As they've moved to this new location, you need not worry about the poo poo anymore!

I think besides the awesomeness of the Maggi goreng, the super smooth fried egg is the real bomb! I'm not sure how they did it, but this is the first time I've ever eaten a fried egg with such texture!

Product Review: Hada Labo Air BB Cream

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!! Most of my friends started to 'hoi gung' today so the atmosphere is a bit blue, right?

And I'm sure many of you are in half asleep mode now. Don't worry, I'm sure my ugly face will be able to wake you up! LOL!

So I was at the launch of Hada Labo Air BB Cream few months back and I got myself one to try too! The shade I've got is Ivory Beige, the fairer color and luckily the shade suits my skin color well!

Hada Labo Air BB Cream

Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion

My ugly face before applying anything.
I have uneven skin tone and occasional breakouts.

How I applied Hada Labo Air BB Cream:

Apply Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion, the much hyped moisturizing lotion that is sold 1 bottle every 4 seconds in Japan on palms and gently pat onto skin in order to prep the skin with moisture.
Squeeze some Hada Lado Air BB Cream and distribute it to different areas on face.
Instead of pushing, gently pat the BB cream on your face to even it. As the BB Cream is matte formula, it is difficult to push because it's not so watery.

After applying Hada Labo Air BB Cream

Results:

Skin tone became more even and radiant.
Pimple became less visible although the redness could not be concealed 100%.
No breakouts after using Hada Labo Air BB Cream. Some brands claimed to be non-comedogenic but still clogged my pores and new pimples surfaced.
Face is protected with SPF 50/PA+++.
Great oil control, suitable for oily skin.
