Cobb Performaing Arts Centre looking good in May.

Bonnie Raitt, Yanni and Trace Atkins highlight May’s schedule at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The residents of Smyrna, GA flock to the centre for world-class entertainment close to home and this lineup will keep them coming back for more.

Bonnie Raitt released her first album in seven years recently and this is your chance to catch a true legend of music live in the beautiful 2,750 seat John A. Williams Theatre. She takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. on May 9.

Yanni brings his amazing live show to Atlanta on May 13-14. He has dazzled audiences around the world for decades and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Legendary artist, Trace Adkins hits the stage with his one-of-a-kind country voice at 8 p.m., May 17. Trace Adkins hit the road intent on visiting America’s most beautiful theaters. These performances will incorporate stories, both humorous and meaningful, that pay homage to Adkins’ working-man roots and rich musical heritage.

If you’re looking for fun things to do with your kids near your family community in Vinings GA (Smyrna), mark your calendar for Saturday, April 28^th! The Jonquil City Jog 5K Run/Walk is a great way for your family to spend time together while getting active and meeting people in your community.

Registration for the race begins at 7:00 AM on the day of the event, or you can register online until April 26^th and pick up your race packets during the registration hour. The 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:00 AM, and all first-place winners will receive a key lime pie. With 15 age categories and awards for the three top male and female finishers in each, there’s plenty of fun to go around! After the race, the Fun Run and Tot Trot (for kids 5 and under) follow.

Proceeds from the Jonquil City Jog benefit the Campbell High School Education Foundation, Inc., which provides financial and community support to students at Campbell High School. After the race, stick around for the Jonquil Festival, and enjoy the live music, delicious festival foods, Friends of the Smyrna Library book sale, arts & crafts booths, and all sorts of activities for the kids!

The CDC reports that 8.3% of all Americans live with Diabetes and of the people who have it, 27% don’t know that they do [1]. Organizations like the American Diabetes Association, host lots of community engaging events the help promote prevention of the disease amongst households.

New Store Coming To The Jubiliee!

Cafe at Pharr is a low-fat, health-conscious restaurant that is well-known in Georgia for its healthy chicken sandwich and invention of the “yogurt roll.” Mike Liu, one of the founders, came up with the idea of using leftover croissant dough to make a roll filled with a yogurt mixture that pleases the palette with its balance of buttery croissant and tart filling.
