I’ve heard of Elizabeth Lowell and I’ve seen many of her novels when visiting Barnes and Nobles but I’ve never had the chance to read any of her novels until I was given this hardcover novel of her most recent release. Perfect Touch is a heart-racing tale in which a former soldier turned rancher and a beautiful designer race to stop a vicious killer—a battle for survival that threatens to explode in an intense and irresistible passion. The novel begins with the heroine who is an art dealer and owner of her own design studio, Perfect Touch. Sara Medina travels the world to find the ideal artwork for her clients and has a sophisticated comfortable life in San Francisco is light years away from the poverty of her family’s dairy farm. Sara will do whatever it takes to keep her business strong and as a dedicated urban career woman focused on her work, she doesn’t have time or energy for a family or distracting romantic entanglements.
Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series and so far there have 13 books published including the current release named The Shadows. We previously met the Shadow named Trez “Latimer” in previous books but he doesn’t really exist though it’s not just because his identity was created so that a Shadow could function in the underbelly of the human world. His parents sold him to the Queen of the S’Hsibe as a child, but Trez escaped the Territory. He has been a pimp and an enforcer in Caldwell, NY for years – all the while on the run from a destiny of sexual servitude. He’s never had anyone he could totally rely on...except for his brother, iAm. It has been iAm’s sole goal for most his life to always keep his brother from self-destructing – and he knows he’s failed but it’s not until the Chosen Serena enters Trez’s life that the male begins to turn things around...but by then it’s too late. The pledge to mate the Queen’s daughter comes due and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no negotiating. Trapped between his heart and a fate he never volunteered for, Trez must decide whether to endanger himself and others – or forever leave behind the female he’s in love with. But then an unimaginable tragedy strikes and changes everything because staring out over an emotional abyss, Trez must find a reason to go on or risk losing himself and his soul forever. And iAm, in the name of brotherly love, is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice...that will change both of their lives forever.
She has no desire to marry a man she does not love, which is where the runaway bride part comes in. Annie’s very controlling father has been calling the shots her entire life but this time he has pushed her too far that she hijacks the family limo, only to have it break down in small town Pinckney, Georgia. Then Annie meets small town lawyer and restaurant owner Sam Ballard who has been unlucky in love as well with his own runaway bride. So the last thing he expects is Annie coming into town in a short waitress uniform and breaking every dish in his Dixieland Café since she only graduated high school and then finishing school. Still, he can’t very well fire her because she has won the hearts of everyone in town and he starts to fall in love with her but he doesn’t know if she will stay or go running back to her rich father.
Well that day has finally come and it was time to finally see how the actors ended up portraying our beloved Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. I went to the 8:55PM show at College Point Multiplex Cinemas on Tuesday, February 17th (this theater has movie tickets at $7.50 for all ages on Tuesdays only) with my aunt, her husband, my other aunt, my cousin and her husband and three other family members. Since it was a workday after a 3 day weekend I was all excited and working was a distraction that I wanted done with fast.

C.H. New Romance Author Interview Podcasts with Phoebe Jordan on BlogTalkRadio

Today I have an RT BOOKlovers Convention special show for you because I will be chatting with romance author C. H. Admirand who will be talking about her upcoming novels. And she may even give us a sneak peek into some of her future books as well as any of her other novels that she may have in the works right now and any other projects. She will be telling us about her writing experience and what she has in the works writing wise.

C.H. was born in Aiken, South Carolina, but her parents moved back to northern New Jersey where she grew up, which if you’ve met her would explain a lot. She’s always had her nose in a book, has traveled the world over, and even tested the time-space continuum, thanks to the awesome power of the written word. One of her writing quirks is that she loves to include bits and pieces of her ancestors and ancestry in all of her books. Her family centers her and keeps her sane, which is why she enjoys adding elements of family, hearth, and home in all of her romances.

With 8 short stories and 15 novels to her credit, this award-winning, multi-published author’s books are available in paperback, hardcover, trade paperback, magazine, e-book, and audio book. You can find out more about her by either going to her Website, Blog, Facebook Author Page or Twitter.

Born and raised in the North East, PJ Schnyder spent her childhood pretending to study for the SATs by reading every fantasy and sci-fi novel she could borrow from the local and school libraries. She scored fairly high in the verbal portion. She was introduced to the wonderful world of romance a decade later by her best friend at an anime convention in Seattle. PJ recently received the Golden Leaf award for Bite Me, Book 1 of the London Undead series, and is one of the contributing authors to the Parsec-award winning Tales from the Archives Vol. 2 of The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences. In the past, she has also won honors from the Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal RWA PRISM awards for her novella, Hunting Kat, Book 1 of the Triton Experiment series. Today I'm reviewing the second book in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker. In the first book you met Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey the hero and heroine of this trilogy. They are completely different people who meet for the first time because Ana's friend had an exclusive interview with the elusive entrepreneur Mr. Grey. The first book left off with Ana and Christian having made love for the first time in what some people call in straight vanilla way without her signing the contract that Christian had original given to her before they started their relationship. But as Ana got to know Christian she wanted to please him in the way that he likes and even though he knew that in some part of Ana that she wasn't ready for it he gives in to her. Christian gives her a taste of the BDSM world he is a part of by spanking her and the experience leaves her both enticed and slightly confused. This confusion is worsened by Christian's extravagant gifts, and the fact that he brings her to meet his family. After successfully landing a job with Seattle Independent Publishing, Ana further bristles under the restrictions of the non-disclosure agreement and the complex relationship with Christian.

The tension between Ana and Christian eventually comes to a head after Ana asks Christian to punish her in order to show her how extreme a BDSM relationship with him could be. Christian fulfills Ana's request, beating her with a belt, only for Ana to realize that the two of them are incompatible. Devastated, Ana leaves Christian and returns to the apartment she shares with Kate. In this book Ana's desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades. While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life. Through this journey that both Christian and Ana take they both experience new feels that they've never had before because they have now found someone that they can see living out the rest of their lives. I really loved that both Christian and Ana start to realize that they need to change a little bit for one another if they ever want to make this a successful relationship.

Today I'm reviewing a book that I know that everyone has read since it came out a few years ago. And though this book isn't one that I just read recently but it's one that I really loved reading when I first heard about it and just had to read in 2012. I first heard about the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy from my aunt who heard about it on the Z100 morning radio show. I decided to give the first book a try so I downloaded the entire trilogy on my NookColor. I read the description of each book so that I would get a feel for the trilogy and I thought it was really intriguing since I've never really read books about characters who practiced BDSM. Also I don't read too many books that are written in the first person because I sometimes feel that they limit what the reader gets to understand about all the characters. So when I first started reading Fifty Shades of Grey I was hooked after getting thru the first few pages.

Anastasia Steele is a literature student who goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey because her roommate Kate was too sick to go though she didn't want to miss her only opportunity to get an interview with Mr. Grey. She encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating when she is first escorted into Mr. Grey's office and to read how they first meet was intriguing to read because Grey seems like a man who doesn't talk about himself to anyone. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. This instant attraction somewhat reminded me of the Twilight characters Edward and Bella but with a non-paranormal twist. And it was fun to find out later that this series was actually James previously writing the trilogy as a Twilight fan fiction with BDSM mixed in. Though I like Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele much more than I ever liked Edward and Bella since Grey and Steele's romance felt more real to me than Edward and Bella's romance and it's not because Edward was a vampire and there were werewolves mixed in. For me Ana and Grey have an instant attraction to each other but it's not like Edward and Bella's which I found was somewhat unhealthy because they were I feel obsessed with one another rather than in love with each other. Ana and Grey seem to have a somewhat healthier relationship but it's just the first book in the series so we have only gotten to see how they start to fall in love with each other which may change as they get to know how to deal with each other's emotions.
So it's been almost 2 years since I last posted on the blog but it's been a crazy two years since I've gotten a permanent office job in downtown Manhattan. When I last posted was about two months after I bought my 15" MacBook Pro and I am still loving it much better than my Dell laptop that I bought a few months earlier than my MacBook Pro. I still use the Dell once in a while when I need to use the Adobe Acrobat program to make fill-out forms for work. My MacBook Pro has been such a great purchase even though I had to spend almost $2,000 for it. It took me a bit of time to get use to some of the changes from my PC but in the long run I have had almost no troubles with which is the total opposite of my experience with all three of my previous Dell laptops.

Recently I got a message on my Facebook Fan page from Lisa Watson who works with RT Book Reviews about doing author interviews on my Blog Talk Radio podcast show. I wasn't too sure about doing it since I haven't been doing any author interviews on my podcast except for that one author interview with Susan H. Crowley in July of 2013. But I decided that this was an opportunity that I shouldn't pass up since I really need to get back to what I use to love doing which is reading book that I would post reviews about and interviewing romance authors of all genres about the books that they write. So I think from now on I will try to get myself back into the rhythm of writing book reviews on the blog but like I said it has been a long while since I've done it so bare with me please. I've also been updating my websites with new information but as you know maintaining a website takes a lot of time and mine hasn't been updated since I started it in 2010. I've done a few maintenance updates with the information that I have since changed but I'm using some of my free time from work to get it all done.

15" MacBook Pro

Well it has been almost about 2 months since I bought my 15" MacBook Pro and I have to say that though it's been a process to try learn how things work differently on it than on my Dell PC I'm having such a great time playing on it. I have actually stopped using my PC for now because it has come up with a problem with the Internet Explorer and I just don't have the time to waste to fix it. So now I'm using my MacBook Pro full-time and I'm happy since I have some really nice games which I downloaded thru the Mac store. I can basically do most of the things that I was doing on my PC and there has only been a few things that I had to get use to which is the key board and how to use some of the buttons that aren't on my PC.

It's a very slick 15" MacBook Pro though if I were to get it in a different color than the sliver color it might make it look interesting with that Apple logo that lights up whenever I have my MacBook on. I haven't actually taken my MacBook out with me because I don't have a cover or sleeve or case for it yet and even if I do get one for it I'm not sure I want to take it anywhere with me since it is a really expensive. I'm actually getting us to using Safari since I was able to download my Yahoo! Bookmarks and exported it to Safari with a few problems that I eventually fixed. Now I have everything that I need on my MacBook so I don't even really miss anything on my PC except maybe my Microsoft programs but that I could work around. I'm not going to buy the Microsoft Office for Mac since I've heard such negative reviews along with those positive reviews. Besides that if I really need to use Microsoft Office I can always do what I've been told might work out for me which is using Parallel or Boot Camp to use Windows on my MacBook.

It's been a year since I officially posted a blog here. I got a full-time job in an office last April 2011 and it really took all my attention to get the rhythm of doing my job on a daily bases. I am still reading my romance novels as much as ever but I haven't been reviewing them as I use to. I also haven't been taking any review requests from authors, though there weren't that many interested in the first place. I've been thinking about blogging again since I bought a new laptop recently that has been a real joy to use since it's more high-tech then my previous laptops. I bought an expensive 15" XPS Dell laptop with an Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB Memory with a 1TB Hard Drive that came with Windows Office 2010 Home and Student but also with Adobe Acrobat Standard X.

40" Class (40.0" Diag.) LCD 630 Series TV

I've watched Netflix on my new laptop and it's almost like watching the movies and tv shows on my 40" LCD flat screen Samsung tv which I also got recently before I got the laptop. I bought the flat screen tv to replace my old 27" tv that I bought with my uncle at a BJ's several years ago and that was taking too much space but also the sound wasn't all that great compared to my new flat screen tv. Since I've been reading print books as well as eBooks on my Nook Color and Nook Simple Touch I have a lot of books I could post reviews for on my blog Talk About My Favorite Authors. I just have been too lazy to get on my old and slow laptop to write my book reviews on my blog so that others could read them. But like I said since I've gotten my new expensive laptop I've been thinking about getting back to blogging and reviewing because I've been thinking of going to the BEA conference.

I'm going to try to post some reviews for the books that I've recently read but I can't make a promise of it since like I said I've been pretty lazy since I started my full-time job as a file clerk at NYCHSRO/MedReview in the Retro Review department.

Since I was working from 9AM to 5PM during the weekdays I wasn't able to participate in any of the panels except a few during the weekend but it was very much fun to join in the chats that were going on at night after all the panels were done.

Terry Kate of Romance in the Backseat hosted most of the panels with the help from Jackie of Literary Escapism as well as Jessica of Novel Reaction and Manda Kay of Manda Reads. There were many interesting panels that were hosted from Wednesday, April 13th to Sunday, April 17th which were 5 days packed with panels, live chats and lively discussions in the forum for all the bloggers, publishers and several authors.

The audio panels that where hosted on TalkShoe will be up for a month before they are taken down from the Ning but Terry may put them up exclusively for BBP members on a private blog. Well I had a wonderful time and I can't wait until next year when I hope that Terry Kate will be hosting the next Book Bloggers and Publishers Online Conference for the 3rd year in a row.

Book Bloggers and Publishers Online Conference

Bloggers and Publishers have the same goals, to bring in readers. This Conference is to discuss what is working online to promote books and what we can do better. How can we work together and with authors to bring readers online? What are Publishers goals in working with Bloggers? What are Bloggers and Reviewers looking for? Join us for panels, discussions and giveaways. This is the 2nd annual Book Bloggers and Publishers Online Conference that is hosted by Terry Kate of Romance in the Backseat as well as several other book bloggers.

How the Conference Works: This is a five day online event that will feature TalkShoe Discussion Panels and open Forums for more inclusive debate on subjects raised. Attendees can listen to panels live or using the links provided at a later more convenient time. The Forums will remain open and those speaking on the panels will be in the forums afterward to answer questions. The Forums will be held in a private Ning for the Conference.
Well I just needed to rant my frustation out to someone today about why I am seriously thinking of never ordering online from Barnes and Noble since they are now using this delivery service called Argix Direct which uses the USPS to deliver the packages. The USPS lately has been very bad in deliverying my packages from both Barnes and Noble as well as from other people which is not good at all. I use to get all of my packages delivered on time when it was scheduled to be delivered when they use to use UPS all the time to get their packages to their customers. Don't get me wrong I love Barnes and Noble but they are really getting horrible in their customer service since the Nook came out. I will be going to the post office and complaining about not getting my package when they say it was delivered with a notice left to pick it up. I never got a notice about picking it up and the time they said they delivered it my mom was at home and nobody rang the doorbell to deliver the package.

Well wish me luck about getting my books back from the post office because otherwise I will be asking for a full damn refund from Barnes and Noble who have already charged me for it.

It's a New Year and a New Me!

Can you tell the difference?

So I know that I have been a very bad girl and haven't been a good blogger or book reviewer since I haven't posted anything since October of 2010 and it's now almost February 2011. Ever since I got my first job at Modell's Sporting Goods store I have been very lazy about posting my reviews of the books I've read when I use to post them all the time previously. Also for the new year I dyed my hair a light blond color that most people say looks better on me than my natural dark brown hair did because this color makes me look like less pale so that it gives me a tanned look.

Now it's 2011 and I want to get back to being the book blogger and reviewer that I use to be so though it going to take some time I will be posting my book reviews on all the books I've been recently reading. I recently got a NOOKcolor for myself as a Christmas present so I've been reading a lot of eBooks as well as the print books that I can't help but still buy to read. I've also taken the 2011 Book Challenge that is going on Goodreads and I have set myself up to read a goal of 600 books this year.

I had submitted my website for review a few months ago when they started that section of their website and I finally got to read one of their reviewers feedback. I was excited to read it and see that the reviewer, Detra Fitch, gave me 4 Parrots in total with a lot of feedback on what she thought was good what she thought I needed to change a bit to make it better. Here is a quote from her review:

Phoebe Jordan’s website is very well done. It is professional and pleasing to the eyes. If her site is any example of how good her stories will be, then she has a bright future as an author!

If you want to read the entire review and maybe even leave a comment on what you thought of her review you can read it by clicking here!

I moved and now I'm adjusting!

As many of my loyal readers have guessed I haven't been very active with posting book reviews, author interviews or author guest blogs these past couple of weeks. I posted that I got a job during the summer and it's been taking a large part of my time that reading my books for pleasure doesn't. Then at the beginning of October my mom and me had to start packing all of our stuff because we were moving into a new apartment that we would be sharing with my grandmother and one of my aunts. So all this month I've been dreading moving because I have almost 2,000 books to pack and try to find out how I'm going to get them all situated into the new apartment with out getting rid of any that I couldn't live with out.

Well I'm finally moved into the new apartment and I know that it will take a very long time to adjust to it. I don't have easy access to the internet right now since I have to share the DSL with my aunt's desktop computer since we don't have wireless right not though we are trying to work it out. So I wanted to warn everyone that I'll try to post book reviews as soon as possible because I have read a few books that I need to review soon. I will also be keeping up wiht what I'm currently reading on Shelfari, Goodreads and Barnes & Noble if anyone is interested in following me on there.

Stroking a Brazen Lust

It's Here! If you liked book 1 and 2 don't miss the next installment in the Brazen Sister Series. Which do you prefer to write? Is one genre easier to write than the other?

I’ll say the male/male novellas are quicker because they’re not full-length novels. The erotic romance is almost always full novels. And there’s more research with the historical romance. I enjoy writing both because of the variety and the different lengths, but if you really pinned me down I’d have to say I’m really fond of reading and writing historical romance.

How did you start your writing career?

Dust and Moonlight
Keta Diablo

The first book I wrote was a sensual historical based on a real-life event in my family history. Not too long after that first book I began writing erotic romance and like I mentioned above added Gay fiction. Several years ago I wrote an erotic fantasy romance called Dust and Moonlight and I really enjoyed writing that genre too. I hope to do another fantasy/time travel one day. More information about Dust and Moonlight (Amazon Kindle) here.

What is the best book you've read in 2010? What upcoming 2010 book release are you most looking forward to reading?

I absolutely loved The Spymaster’s Lady by Joanna Bourne and hope to get to the other books in the series soon. I think she’s a wonderful writer with an amazing grasp of plot and character depth. Like many authors, I don’t have a lot of time to read so I have to be very selective in what I choose. I’ll often read the reviews and ask around if I’m on the lookout for a new book. My TBR pile AND TBR list is huge. I still have book sitting on my nightstand that I received last Christmas and haven’t had the time to open them yet. I know, pathetic.

What are your favorite genres to read?

When time, I do read in a wide variety. Right now, I have about three books going, which isn’t unusual for me. One is a fantasy, one is a historical romance and the other is a book on writing.

Tell us about your current release.

Thank you for asking about Where the Rain is Made. My youngest son is responsible for the inspiration behind the book. About six years ago he took a keen interest in American history, particularly Native American history. I can’t tell you the number of hours we spent at the library checking out books and reading about all the different tribes. For some reason, he loved the history on the Dog Soldiers and so we accumulated a lot of documents, research articles, etc. About a year later, his reading interests shifted, and here I was with all this information about the Cheyenne. It made sense that I would write a book about the Dog Soldiers.

Blurb:

There is something so damn sexy about a younger man.

Dumped by her husband of thirteen years for the younger model, forty-year-old Rachel Michaels needs to jumpstart her life. After years of fitting into her husband’s rigid mould, she’s ready to reinvent herself, and a fling with a hot younger man is just what she needs. Her sexy landscape designer is the perfect man for the job.

Twenty-eight-year-old Mark Beaumont is fascinated by the woman in her sexual prime. She's assertive and fun, with a vulnerable core. After giving Rachel her first partner-induced orgasm, he knows he wants more than just a brief fling—he wants to help her explore everything she kept suppressed during her boring marriage.

But can he convince her that there is more between them than just great sex or will she let her fears stand in the way?

Due to her father’s constant bragging, word of Anna Miller’s beauty and virtue piques the interest of King Thomas.

Upon taking the boasting of her father too literally, the king of Grimbros imprisons Anna and threatens to kill her and her father if she fails to spin straw into gold.

A mysterious and sensual magical being finds himself drawn to the castle—and the beautiful Anna. He offers his help in exchange for the most intimate, precious gifts she could possibly give. Soon Anna finds herself wanting far more than just his help. But he threatens to consume her and all she holds dear.

Kiki has been on the blog before for a written interview and guest blog but that is not all I got to chat live with her on my podcast show as well, TAMFA | Phoebe Jordan, which you all can enjoy listening to anytime you want by either going to Blog Talk Radio or the TAMFA Podcast's official website. Now onto Kiki's guest blog:

* * * * * *

I am a paranormal romance author, no if, ands or buts about it. It is mostly what I read, and about the only thing I write. I got this confirmation of that a few weeks ago when I finished writing my first story without any paranormal elements in it. I had to giggle that my heroine ended up into reading paranormal romance, and there were all kinds of references to that effect.

People ask my why paranormal romance though, and I am not sure I have a clear answer even in my own mind. It fascinates me, no it enthralls me—and I just adore the escape. Problems are different when paranormal or fantasy elements are added into the plot. As is sex, *clears throat* but that is a whole other can of worms there. LOL.

Another thing I like is that the lessons in life that we all learn, well they can become complicated by the supernatural. Just consider knowing right from wrong. If you had certain powers, the lure of using them to your personal advantage without regard to others…what a heavy weight to bear. My latest hero, a sorcerer, had to deal with that very issue on several levels.

I wrote The Sorcerer’s Songs using my husband's song lyrics to create the plot. Actually, this story started with one specific song called, The Road. Click Here if you wish to listen to the song. The lyrics had always touched me, and just scratched at me to write a story. However, there were no paranormal elements in any of the songs I used. And yet, my first thought was, what powers can I give him. Immediately I thought with music being so influential, capable of having such an effect on people, it could be used in spells too. A little research both in the psychology field and into Wicca gave me a wealth of knowledge to work with…to let my imagination run away with.

So when I got the chance to read her just upcoming Male/Male historical novella, Long, Hard Ride, with the new online publisher Decadent Publishing. I read a very intriguing excerpt on Keta's website that had me wanting to read the novel as soon as possible. The story starts off where we meet Grayson Drake and he has been sent by a covert spy agency from the South to break Marx Wellbourne out of Elmira Prison at all costs. Gray has been ordered to return Wellbourne to Richmond so the Confederate Army can pick his brain about the maps he’s memorized but Gray soon discovers Marx is courting death from malaria and pneumonia.

And don't forget that on Thursday, July 29th I will be chatting live with Linda on my live podcast show TAMFA—Phoebe Jordan about her paranormal and urban fantasy novels. She also has a written interview that I posted on Tuesday, July 27th if you want to learn more about Ashlynn. Now onto Ashlynn's guest blog about her 2 currently released novels:

* * * * * *

How I wrote Passion's Escape:

I love science fiction. My very first terrible novel that I wrote as a teen was science fiction and I’ve never lost my love of writing the genre. I love the freedom of creating worlds completely out of my own imagination. I also identify with the battle that women have been fighting since time began, to find happiness in a man’s world. I wanted Passion to be just as her name described her, a woman with heart who was not afraid to use that heart. She is the strength of every woman, that’s why I dedicated the book to women everywhere. She’s the kind of woman who can take on a life or death battle of impossible odds and still be desirable and unafraid to enjoy pleasure. She’s one of my all time favorite characters to write. This is one of the stories that I wrote this year. I started it at the end of March and I had it finished by mid-April. This story was so much fun I wrote every spare moment of the day.

My first idea came to me about a woman who had to escape her planet using skills that are not typically ones a woman has, there aren’t too many female mechanics today and in the future, I’m doubtful that this will change. I wanted Passion to be smart and brave and I wanted the men in her life to arrive during her greatest conflict. They present her a better option and she takes it. I love that about her, she’s not afraid to take a gamble. I also wanted to write a book where the girl has two simultaneous lovers, I’ve never written anything like that before and I felt that Passion was just the character to try it out on.

Now onto my interview with Ashlynn:

Phoebe Jordan: When did you know that writing romance was going to be the thing that you would do with your life? Which author inspired you to start writing romance?

Ashlynn Monroe: I started writing when I was thirteen. My cousins encouraged me (even if that first novel was awful) and I kept writing. I’ve written stories as a hobby since that time. When I turned thirty, I made a promise to myself actually to submit some of the stories for publication. Wild Horse Press was the first publisher that contacted me. Since February of this year, I’ve been writing like crazy and I’m currently contacted with six publishers and one magazine. My paternal grandmother gave me garbage bags full of romance novels in the summer and that was the root of my love for romance. I was reading them long before I should’ve.

Phoebe: Did you know what type of romance you wanted to write about or did you experiment with different genres before you chose the one that you felt was for you?

Ashlynn: I am not genre bias…I write everything! I have contracts out there for urban fantasy, dark romance, paranormal romance, science fiction romance, and contemporary romance. I even have a steam punk romance that is currently looking for a home.

Phoebe: What was the first fiction you ever wrote? And do you still have it with you?

Ashlynn: I sadly did not keep my first novel it was titled Arianna’s Circle and sadly, I can describe it as the blue lagoon meets star wars. My cousin drew me a cover for it for my fourteenth birthday, and I still have her lovely framed art, but I actually threw out all my teenage work about five years ago during some frantic spring-cleaning when I was pregnant with my youngest child.

Phoebe: How much research do you have to do for your novels and does it take you a long time to gather that research?

Ashlynn: It depends on the novel. I research places, if I’m writing about states or cities that I’ve never been to. I did a lot of research for my Templar vampire series, contracted by Keith Publications. I have a steam punk romance that is looking for a home. My steam punk romance as it takes place during the civil war. I also researched into the workings of steam engines and double-checked my historical facts about the civil war.
