Michael Jackson's funeral cost more than $1 million

While celebrity medium Derek Acorah was busy pretending to contact Michael Jackson in a seance late last week -- the King of Pop was singing Heal the World when he started complaining that he wasn't buried near Marilyn Monroe -- the L.A. Times was busy parsing out the fact that MJ's funeral cost more than $1 million. So much for feeding starving orphans.

Records show Jackson's crypt at Forest Lawn cost his estate $590,000, the Times says. Security for the September event, including the luxury cars to ferry his family around, ran $30,000. Flowers cost $16,000 and the funeral planner earned a cool $15,000. The "funeral repast" at an Italian restaurant in Pasadena was so good, it fetched a $21,455 bill.

Jackson was well dressed, with funerary attire ringing in at $35,000. Invitations for "guests" like Elizabeth Taylor, Macaulay Culkin and Quincy Jones totaled a mind-boggling $11,716.

The records were released by a probate judge who appointed entertainment attorney John Branca and music exec John McClain as executors of MJ's estate. We're assuming that's because the family made such horrible financial decisions at the funeral.

Fergie says she's faithful to Josh Duhamel, despite her bisexual past

Let's steer away from tales that Josh Duhamel was cheating on wife Fergie, since we've found out that the Duchess is also one to enjoy a roll in the hay with another woman. We woulda never guessed it.

"I've had a lot of fun with women, and I'm not ashamed of it," she tells the Advocate. "But just because I enjoy women doesn't mean I'm allowed to have affairs in my relationship."

And what brought on this confessions? Professional help, of course.

"I learned through talking with my therapist that it is still cheating even if it's with girls, so there is a rule there," she says, noting that there's another thing keeping her from walking away: "The problem is that I also love a well-endowed man."

She doesn't understand why this confession on bisexuality is such a big deal, though. She says she's been honest with Josh "from the get-go" and it has been brought up before.

"Go back four or five years, people, and you'll see the same answer," she says.

But even with such a sordid past, don't plan on seeing a sex tape of Fergie with Josh or anyone else.

"No, that's not happening. We're too smart for that," she says. "We've done some filming but with no tape in the camera." Yeah, that's what Josh told her, anyway.

Celine Dion is no longer having a baby

Sad news for Celine Dion: Her husband, Rene Angelil, tells Canadian newspaper Journal de Montreal that her latest in vitro fertilization to have a second child is unsuccessful. She had announced the pregnancy back in August.

"We're living the reality of the majority of couples who face these procreation techniques," Angelil said, noting that she had undergone another treatment in October and is planning a third.

"The road can be long and difficult. It doesn't always work as was the case the first time with Rene-Charles," meaning their 8-year-old son, who was conceived via in vitro fertilization.

America's Next Top Model's Miss J Alexander is a dad

Juice*heads know we're big fans of America's Next Top Model, so we were really surprised to hear that judge and runway diva Miss J Alexander (a.k.a. Alexander Jenkins) is a daddy. At least that boy will really know how to work it in heels.

Alexander explained on The Tyra Banks Show that he and his ex-boyfriend, whom he only identifies as Alex, were asked to help a woman get pregnant. The result is a 7-year-old boy named Boris.

"A French lesbian had asked if we would be sperm donors," Miss J said on the show (watch the clip above). "So we thought, 'Okay, you want me to do you?' And she was like, 'Oh, I'm not that talented.' So I said, 'Okay fine.' So we did a little test tube."

It took three tries, and the big mystery was whose sperm the woman actually used the third time (it's a charm, you know). Since the kid was light-skinned, Miss J knew he wasn't the dad.

"I said, 'Oh, Lord. Thank God. No child custody hearings — he's yours," he said. The model trainer said he is still active in the child's life, even though he and the biological father have broken up -- who else would he watch the CW with?

Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie are speaking again

It must almost be time for the holidays, because what else could explain the heartwarming tale that Jon Voight has reconciled with freaky daughter Angelina Jolie? Well, besides peace on Earth and the end of world hunger, we mean.

"We're in touch, but not regularly," Voight told Us. "We love each other and that's the most important thing."

Okay, so it's not quite the breakthrough Hallmark reunion we had not cared about, but it's something. The 70-year-old hadn't spoken to his daughter since he went on Access Hollywood in 2001 and told her to get help for "serious mental problems" (that was around her brother-kissing, Billy Bob Thornton blood-wearing phase).

A family friend says "they met face-to-face back in February, and are again on speaking terms:"Angie made the initial contact," the source says. "Brad (Pitt) has been supportive -- a key factor in her reaching out."

Of course Brad pushed her to be nice -- they need all the babysitters they can get!

Report: Lindsay Lohan, Heath Ledger secretly dating at time of his death

File this under freaky: Us is reporting today that Lindsay Lohan was dating actor Heath Ledger back in January 2008 at the time of his death.
The romance was a closely held secret, but was somehow discovered through a recorded phone call between her mother, Dina, and father/ex-husband Michael Lohan.
News of Ledger's death was devastating to Lindsay, her mom says.

Ledger died at age 28 on January 22, 2008 from an accidental but toxic overdose of prescription drugs. The way he died made Lindsay's mom nervous.
"When she's drunk or takes an Adderall with it she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking," she tells Michael Johan on the tape, according to Us.
It's not immediately known who released the tape of the phone conversation. Lindsay had recently criticized her father for leaking other tapes. "He's disgusting to do this," she wrote on Twitter. "It really hurts my mom for me and my siblings."

Jon Gosselin to counter-sue TLC

Jon Gosselin and the TLC have some major league issues. Already being sued by the cable network for breach of contract over his publicity stunts in the wake of the demise of his TV show, now the reality dad is counter-suing TLC for $5 million.
Gosselin "is likely to argue that TLC is preventing him from earning a living with a contract that is too restrictive," says Radar. TLC had originally been arguing that the father of eight violated his contract by taking money for unauthorized interviews and business deals.

If the American public just raises $5 million and gives it to Jon, would he just go away?

Chris Brown thinks Rihanna should shut up

Rihanna has had her say on national TV for the last week or so. So now it's poor Chris Brown who gets his turn to spout off. And his message?

His former girlfriend just needs to clam up.

Way to show remorse, Chris.

According to the Sun in the UK, Brown has released a statement through his record company that reads:"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us."

By "events of February 8," we guess he means beating Rihanna until her face was swollen and bleeding. And by "a private matter," we suppose he's referring to himself, Rihanna and the criminal justice system that sentenced him to six months of community service, a year of counseling and another five years probation.

'Twilight' star stinks. Really.

Robert Pattinson says fans -- and potential "lady friends" -- wanting to get a whiff of the Twlight and New Moon star might be in for a surprise.
He smells.
A biological disorder? No. An allergy to deodorant or cologne? Try again. It's because he rarely changes his clothes.
"These jeans are a few days old," Pattinson told UK's New! magazine during an interview, according to a report on Us. "But the top is probably fresh because it gets to the point where even I can't stand the air around me. I don't know, my personal hygiene – it's so disgusting!"
Uh, yeah. We're in consensus on that verdict, Edward! Just because your character is "undead" doesn't get you out of knowing how to work a washer and dryer.
Also, he blames his dysfunctional love life on his movie career.
"Acting ruined my seduction techniques because you start to think everything is a 'method,' " he says.
Personally, we think the stench is what ruins his seduction techniques.

James Cameron's 'Avatar' cost $500 million to make?!?

James Cameron's upcoming sci-fi epic Avatar has a pricetag of about $500 million, according to pieces in the L.A. Times and New York Times. Needless to say -- but that's what we do here -- that makes it the most expensive film ever made.
But it's not like the studio -- 20th Century Fox -- is footing the whole bill. (Because that would make them certifiably crazy and stupid.) Luckily, Cameron got some help along the way:

Technically, the production budget was a paltry $230 million, the LA Times says. But that number doesn't include Cameron's own financial contributions or the marketing budget.

A pair of private investors -- Dune Entertainment and Ingenious Media -- are said to be picking up 60 percent of the tab.

The film picked up $25 million in aid from New Zealand, because much of the digital work was done there.

All for a movie that frankly doesn't have half the buzz of New Moon or even 2012. That's the real sign of the apocalypse.
Avatar is set for release on Dec. 18.

“We are over the moon!” the drama-free couple said in a statement. “It’s something we’ve wanted for a long time and we are thrilled that it’s actually happening.”
Theissen's best known for Saved By the Bell and the original Beverly Hills 90210. These days, she can be seen on USA’s drama White Collar. Theissen, 35, and Smith have been married since 2005.

Ringo Starr's face seen in water droplet

Researchers at Duke University have allegedly captured images of former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr -- in a droplet of water on a lotus leaf. Click here to see this possible planet-changing phenomenon.
James Dacey, a reporter for Physics World, is taking the credit for this incredible event. according the Telegraph in the U.K.
“Bizarrely, everybody’s favourite mop-topped Liverpudlian seems to reveal himself in the high-speed photo images of water-droplets being ejected from the leaf surface,” Dacey writes in his publication.
Of course, his discovery is not without the skepticism of some nay-sayers.
"There is some argument over whether the image is actually of George Harrison, rather than Ringo," the Telegraph reports.
The lesson to be learned in all this: Stay away from moonshine in North Carolina ... and the tea in London.

Kelsey Grammer vows to live to 140 years old

Kelsey Grammer has the acting chops of a classic thespian, and he's determined to live long enough to tell the next 10 generations of actors.
The former Cheers and Frasier star had a near-deadly heart attack back in May 2008, but the 54-year-old boasted to the New York Post that his number isn't nearly up yet.
"One day I asked: How old am I going to be when I die?" Grammer told the Post in a short interview. "And I had the Bible in front of me so I just closed my eyes, opened it up to a page in the Book of Job and I pointed. There was a reading that said when I die I am going to be 140 years old. And I like that."
The actor says he doesn't go to church much, but reading the Bible has helped through his failed marriages and other of life's little challenges.
"I'm fine with the Book of Matthew because there's a lot in there about working out your own salvation."
We'll drink to that, Kelsey.

Britney Spears gets 'thumbs down' Down Under

Poor Britney Spears. Just when the pop star gets her personal life together, leave it to those hateful Australians to give her a complex over her live shows.

"Hundreds of fans stormed out of the Burswood Dome concert -- some as early as three songs into her set -- furious with her lacklustre performance," Perth Now reports as Spears continues her Circus tour in Australia. "One security guard said he had never seen so many people walk out of a concert."

Hmmm, maybe there's more to Australia than Outback Steakhouse, Paul Hogan and really big cans of Foster's beer.
"Barmaid Amanda Hawlet, 22, drove two hours from her home town of Northam, and spent nearly $500 on her weekend to see Spears. She left little more than half an hour into the action," the paper said.
"I want my money back or I want her to sing properly," Hawlet told the reporter.

Sing properly?!? She did know it was a Britney Spears concert she bought a ticket for, right?

"Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it," tour promoter Paul Dainty said Monday, according to a report on PopEater.com. "She's a human being. I'm embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting."
What's inaccurate ... the part of the lip-syncing? The Australian government even addressed the issue last week, issuing a statement to ensure fans knew what a Brit-Brit show was like.
"It is Britney's 'prerogative' to lip-sync, and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front," the nation's minister for fair trading in New South Wales said in an an official government statement.
Wow. We love all the drama. And common sense! Why can't the U.S. be more like Australia?

Sarah Jessica Parker let son name one of her daughters, loves diapers

We have to say, Sarah Jessica Parker is one indulgent mom; She tells Elle that she's so supportive of her son James' interactions with his new twin sisters, she even let him name one. That could be dangerous -- imagine introducing DJ Lance Rock Parker-Broderick to your friends.
"He told me he really wanted Marion to be in the mix," she says. "We thought, 'Are we crazy? Do we let our son name one of the girls? Is that the right thing to do? Is it important for him?' And then he goes, and I want it legal."
But just to keep the tyke in his place, she and hubby Matthew Broderick call that girl by her middle name, Loretta, something sister Tabitha probably wishes she could get them to do for her. But what do you expect from a mom who has odd fascinations with dirty diapers?
"I love the smell of diapers," she says. "I even like when they're wet and you smell them all warm like a baked good." There have been a few tiny tots at stately Juice* Manor over the years, and not once have we compared them to crullers and bagels. Perhaps we're just Scrooges.

Joe Francis gets plea deal in tax evasion case

Girls Gone Wild mastermind Joe Francis wormed his way out of trouble yet again, as a judge let him off with time served and a year of probation for filing false income tax returns and bribing Nevada jail workers, the AP reports. Letting him off the hook for savagely manhandling Playboy Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole just wasn't enough legal luck for him, apparently.
U.S. District Judge S. James Otero accepted a plea deal that Francis would get credit for 301 days served after prosecutors learned a key witness, Joe's old accountant Michael Barrett, had withheld information about hundreds of e-mails that Francis was using to sue Barrett for alleged fraudulent billing.

Under the deal, Francis pleaded guilty in September to two misdemeanor counts of filing false tax returns and one count of bribing Nevada jail workers in exchange for food. He acknowledged omitting more than $500,000 in interest income on his 2003 tax returns and said he gave more than $5,000 in goods to the jail employees. He has to pay $250,000 in restitution to the IRS. It's so great to hear that the justice system works, don't it?

Oprah Winfrey may be moving her talk show to cable

We've long since established that Oprah Winfrey is starting her own network -- literally OWN, as in the Oprah Winfrey Network -- but questions have swirled about what would happen to her immensely popular syndicated talk show. Well, if you believe Deadline Hollywood, she's taking it with her.
The site says sources whisper that The Oprah Winfrey Show may make the jump to the new network in 2011, since she's under pressure from Discovery Communications to make it an anchor of the fledgling network. This would all be bad for CBS Television Distribution, which syndicates the show, but don't believe the hype just yet.
"In all honesty, we have not heard she's made a decision yet whether to continue," a source tells Deadline Hollywood, noting CBS expects a one- or two-year extension. "We think we're still in the talking stages. To our minds, it's a non-decision."
Still, moving the most popular talk show on TV to a tripl-digit network? We have a hard time believing Oprah would turn that into an exclusive based on syndication fees alone.
