I am starting off December 2025 themes and plans on a totally different note, starting off from my some personal updates that would give more light and context on my personal, technology, business, writing and content creation segments.

Facing Personal and Family Situations Head On

Two key personal administrative and planning matters were recently officially settled and completed. While it’s a huge relief, this is not the end, a start of more personal things and matters to handle in the months to come.

It’s going to be private and most likely not sharing more about it.

In a nutshell, this is something that we all have to face eventually, as an individual, family, as a society and country, facing an increasing aging population challenges and difficulties.

Getting more Stressful and Pressurising

The amount of stress and pressure can be overwhelming at times, affecting both my professional and personal life. In the areas of technology media news coverage and writing, that got really affected.

Technology

For the month of December 2025, I would just concentrate on clearing my backlogs to the best of my ability, time, constraints and priority handling of my personal family matters and administrative matters that I would need to attend to first.

Business

It’s the final quarter of 2025, while it’s not time to do the year 2025 in review, I would be using this  last month of the Year 2025 to consolidate, wrap up, handle administrative work, and prepare for the coming year 2025.

Photography Business

On my TGH Photography and Travel portal/blog writing about my photography / visual storytelling / content creation themes and plans, I am keeping it more personal and on the areas of creativity, and personal works instead of my photography business side of things.

For month of December 2025, I would try my best to handle whatever photography business opportunities that might be available while I spend more time settling my family and personal administrative matters.

Content Creation / Social Media Marketing

For December 2025, content creation and social media marketing side of things would slow down, concentrating on more personal photography as my therapy, submitting photos for contests.

Personal Photography as a Therapy

Working on my personal photography would definitely be even more important as I need an avenue to let out my immense stress and pressure. From trekking in nature areas, birding photography, documenting history, heritage and culture, getting more involved in performing and contemporary arts.

As well as working on personal photography projects/zines/books, personal photography is going to be a form of therapy. This might be an ideal time to explore, open up or ignite new inspirations on my personal photography segments.

Writing as a Therapy

Personal quiet time to write articles, whether it’s on the subject of technology, business, photography or personal, is now precious and invaluable. Looking for local kopitiams and cafes nearby my home or when I am out for appointments or media events or photography assignments.

Almost all Singtel 5G+ plans across the board, both Phone plans and SIM-Only, now offer unlimited local data for the same price. With unlimited local data, you can now stream, game, download and hotspot to your heart’s content.

Unlimited roaming in Malaysia

No Wi-Fi when out and about? Not a problem anymore, not even when you are enjoying your weekend in JB, KL, Penang, Ipoh and just about anywhere up North. Singtel has just announced massive upgrades for roaming in Malaysia. For the first time ever for consumers here, you can now get unlimited data roaming in Malaysia bundled into your monthly phone plan.

Unlimited in Malaysia applies to all five of Singtel 5G+ Priority Plans. This is a huge shift from Singtel’s existing 50GB Malaysia roaming bundle (which itself was just increased in July) to now unlimited data roaming in Malaysia – the first for any telco plan in Singapore.

For its 5G+ Priority customers, Singtel has also upsized its bundled data roaming by as much as 7X. For many travellers who want a peace of mind, this upgrade means never having to pay for a travel eSIM ever again!

Even the Singtel 5G+ Enhanced M plan has upgraded data bundles, including unlimited local data, 50GB Malaysia, 10GB Asia plus 1GB worldwide.

Singtel’s 5G+ Priority Plans are its top-tier plans that offer 4x speeds, a dedicated express lane on the cellular network through cutting-edge “network slicing” technology and a real-time, always-on security solution called Mobile Protect.

Network slicing works by carving out dedicated lanes within the cellular network that let Priority users enjoy priority connections instead of sharing the entire highway with all other traffic.

Mobile Protect is an advanced scam-fighting service that automatically scans the Singtel cellular network to weed out malware, ransomware, scams and other online threats. It blocks access to malicious sites before you click and can even stop the downloads of infected files.

Do we really need unlimited?

It is true that the previous generous data caps were already sufficient for many mobile users. Why pay for buffet when the set meal was hearty enough to fill our bellies? The answer is simple, why wouldn’t you get a free upgrade to buffet when it costs nothing extra?

In addition, you can now share your buffet spread with friends and family. Previously, only the top-tier 5G+ Priority Fam Phone plan allowed the main subscriber to share the minutes and data bundles among three lines. Now that limit has increased to 4.

And three other plans – the 5G+ Priority Pro Phone plan and both SIM-Only 5G+ Priority Ultra and Plus – now lets you share your hearty local minutes and unlimited data bundles with another user. Not only do you get your set-meal upgraded to buffet, you can now also bring a friend for that 1-for-1 buffet deal at no extra cost!

And when you start talking about overseas roaming, the proposition is even stronger. No more worrying about busting data caps or phishing sites when enjoying your cuppa in KL’s Petaling Street or shopping at JB’s Mid Valley Southkey mall.

Peace of mind anywhere

When you are out and about, the connection should feel as dependable and predictable as the one you trust at home — no worrying about the legitimacy of unfamiliar foreign cellular networks and Wi-Fi or hesitating to livestream a once-in-a-lifetime moment because you’ve been conditioned to ration your data.

Over the past year, Singtel has been strengthening its 5G+ experience step by step — expanding coverage with the 700MHz layer earlier in the year, rolling out network slicing across the base, increasing data allowances in July, before finally introducing unlimited data and enhanced roaming in November. Each update progressively added capacity and stability so the network would be ready for heavier, more constant usage.

Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) by National Environmental Agency (NEA)

More than 200 water heater models have been registered since then, and they are rated from one to five ticks for energy efficiency. These include gas instantaneous, electric instantaneous, and electric storage models. To date, the highest rating achieved among the 3 models is four ticks, with 16 out of 21gas instantaneous heaters reaching this benchmark, compared to just 2 out of 68 electric storage models.

A higher tick rating indicates more hot water produced for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy consumed. By switching from a 1-tick electric storage to a 4-tick gas instant model, households can save up to $1,200 over the gas water heater’s lifespan based on a stud by NEA (1).

The calculation assumes three showers a day per household. Families who use more hot water may enjoy even greater savings, and possibly more if their current heater falls below the 1-tick efficiency benchmark.

Carbon Emissions

A research study (2) by Associate Professor Lee Siew Eang, Honorary Fellow, Department of the Built Environment, College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS), indicates that gas water heaters emit about 0.1913kg of CO2 per kWh, compared to 0.4085kg for electric water heaters.

The higher emissions from electric storage water heaters stem from the fact the electricity must be generated, mainly by burning natural gas (3) in Singapore. In contrast, town gas can be used directly for heating, without the extra conversion step that causes additional energy loss and emissions.

Electric storage water heaters not only emit nearly twice the carbon per unit of energy, they are also less energy efficient, as they experience higher standby losses from keeping large volumes of water heated over extended periods.

Electric storage water heaters are estimated to emit about 400kg of carbon per user each year, that is five times more than gas instant models at 80kg. By switching to gas water heaters, it could therefore cut emissions by up to an estimated 320kg annually per user.

If every household in Singapore uses an electric storage water heater and collectively switches from using electric storage water heaters to gas instant water heaters, we could offset carbon emissions equal to planting about 1.4million trees or removing more than 300,000 cars from the road annually.

How many homes in Singapore use gas water heaters? Over 210,000 homes

City Energy, Singapore’s sole provider of piped town gas, observed growing uptake among condominium developers in the past 3 years, with 70% of newly built private homes with town gas connections opting to install gas water heaters.

How many homes in Singapore use gas water heaters? Over 210,000 homes nationwide to date, representing roughly 14.3% of all homes in Singapore. Across completed projects, installations are up about 210% in 2023-2025 versus 2020-2022, driven by stronger efficiency messaging, updated designs, and the promise of on-demand hot water.

Soh Guan Hong, Senior Vice President, Residential Sales Group Head, City Energy said: “As households become more conscious of their energy use and taking an active role in choosing lower-carbon choices, we expect City Energy to play an even bigger role in Singapore’s sustainability journey starting with raising awareness of gas water heaters. With NEA’s labelling scheme raising awareness, more families and developers are now prioritising efficient appliances. We will continue working to make gas water heating even more accessible for modern homes.”

Koon Wai Leong, General Manager, Hoi Hup Pte Ltd said: “In planning new developments, we look closely at what adds long-term value for homeowners. Gas water heaters stand out because they are more energy efficient, and space-saving. With the national labelling scheme now in place, we see more buyers asking for appliances that meet higher energy standards. Installing gas water heaters gives our projects an edge, while also aligning with Singapore’s broader sustainability goals. It’s a choice that benefits both residents and the environment.”

Tony Wong, homeowner at The Waterview Condo, said: “For us, choosing a gas water heater was about ease of maintenance, comfort and conscience. We liked that it heats water quickly without wasting energy, which keeps our bills down and means we never run out of hot water, even with back-to-back showers. Knowing that it also reduces our household carbon footprint is just icing on the cake. It feels good to know that our daily routines can be both convenient and environmentally responsible.”

Why are more Singapore households choosing gas water heaters? If you have an electric storage water heater at home, you would know that it has to reheat an entire tank of water to about 60 degrees Celsius each time before use.

It’s the final quarter of 2025, while it’s not time to do the year 2025 in review, I would be using this final quarter to consolidate and work towards finishing year 2025 on a good note, taking into considerations the difficult and challenging economic conditions in the past three quarters.

Photography Business

On my TGH Photography and Travel portal/blog writing about my photography / visual storytelling / content creation themes and plans, I am keeping it more personal and on the areas of creativity, and personal works instead of my photography business side of things.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I would be get more photography assignments and shoots leading up to the end of year 2025, ending the year on a good note, considering the slow and difficult period especially in the earlier part of the year.

Content Creation / Social Media Marketing

On content creation, it’s an ongoing presence, whilst getting slower at times due to workloads and commitments. Just as competitive as the photography, videography and creative industries, keeping fingers crossed for future opportunities and projects, combining content creation, photography, videography and social media marketing.

Social media marketing side of things, working towards building new partnerships and working relationships when there are opportunities. The local content creators / key opinion leader (KOL) industry has its own quirks and expectations from both sides of the demand and supply side of things.

It’s been quite a long time since I attended a gala dinner event, during the recent Australian Alumni Singapore (AAS) 70th Gala Dinner, I attended together with fellow alumnus from my University of Queensland (UQ) alumni association of Singapore and UQ Business, Economics and Law (BEL) Council.

Made new friends, caught up with old UQ alumni friends, and I won a lucky draw prize! Winning a lucky draw prize is like a blessing since I don’t have much with lucky draws, and maybe a small reward for my years of alumni networking, support and organisation with UQAAS and UQ BEL Council.

Stress, Pressure and Mental Exhaustion

The struggles are real, society is under a lot of pressure with costs of living and job security, the amount of tense up pressures can be seen in our daily life and what’s happening in our society. Taking on a caregiver role also adds a lot of stress and pressure, the heavy burdens on the shoulders of caregivers as society ages in greater numbers, our very own family members and relatives.

Many a times, we don’t know what others might be going through, our relatives and friends also might not know what we are going through, the challenges and pressures we are facing.

There were many times the screams, anger, cries, it’s all internal, or behind closed doors, people outside don’t see or know what I am going through.

Writing my articles in my areas of technology, business, photography, travel and content creation had been significantly affected. I am trying my best, most articles content are of personal interest, it’s taking much longer than I would like. Hopefully, I hope those PR folks that I am working closely with, they can empathise, the struggles that I can’t talk about openly affecting my writing.

Repeating myself like a broken recorder again: Everyone of us has our own battles, family matters, personal matters, on top of work or business related battles to fight. Let’s be more kind, understanding, and not judge without the stories behind them.

Dell Technologies APJ AIIH Announcement at Dell Technologies Forum 2025 Singapore

In my earlier article, I mentioned about attending Dell Technologies Forum 2025 Singapore, as well as for the announcement for the launch of its new Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) AI Innovation Hub (AIIH) in Singapore, – driving AI Transformation, Enablement and Leadership in Singapore and Region.

With my strong interests in digital transformation, AI technology, as well as on training and education, I prepared a list of questions for an in-depth interview with Dell Technologies Singapore on the Dell APJ AIIH announcement.

AI Transformation

“Organisations in Singapore and APJ are adopting AI but vary in AI readiness”. The topic of data is well known as one of the key challenges and difficulties. What are some of the other  difficulties, challenges and fears that different types of organisations, from big size companies/MNCs, to medium sized organisations and small organisations are facing?

There is no disputing that whilst AI adoption is accelerating across Singapore and the region and really, the world, readiness levels do differ quite widely across organisations. A key reason is that AI transformation goes far beyond just having data, it requires the right mix of infrastructure, talent, skills and governance maturity to scale effectively.

Amongst these challenges, a shortage of AI talent is a critical barrier for most. According to a recent IDC Infobrief, in 2023, 20% of AI projects in the Asia Pacific failed because of factors like skill shortages and high costs for acquiring talent, data management, model training and infrastructure.

Nearly half of businesses in Singapore report struggling to find qualified AI professionals, which can hit smaller businesses especially hard because they can’t compete with large corporations for specialised talent.

Yet, whilst larger organisations might have a slightly easier time with talent, they are more likely to grapple with integrating AI into complex legacy IT systems, navigating the associated governance, compliance and security risks and dealing with organisational inertia.

Conversely, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) face different constraints. While they are often more agile and less burdened by legacy systems, they often struggle with limited budgets and a lack of dedicated IT or analytics teams. This can hamper strategic AI planning and data-driven decision-making. For SMEs, AI adoption is often driven by the need for immediate operational efficiency and a competitive edge, focusing on automating repetitive tasks and enhancing customer experiences.

This is why there has never been a better time than now to introduce the Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub (AIIH). By facilitating collaboration between organisations and partners to validate use cases and create and test prototypes, enterprises can now seek to bridge the gap between AI ambitions and successful deployment.

Are there industries that Dell Technologies AIIH need and can do more for their industries to better assist them in adopting and implementing AI technology to their work environment?

Prior to its official unveiling at the 2025 Dell Technologies Forum Singapore, our team at the AIIH have been hard at work with clients and industry partners, developing around 50 AI engineering solution prototypes, workshop modules and data science demo models. In fact, since 2024, over 100 proof-of-concepts, workshops and demonstrations on AI engineering, generative and predictive AI have been conducted — all tailored for enterprises in the APJ region.

Driven forward through a single-minded collaborative spirit, the AIIH operates in an industry-agnostic manner, focused on three key objectives: AI transformation, AI enablement and AI leadership. This has already allowed us to see some success across different sectors, with several initiatives progressing toward full deployment. For example:

• Energy sector: Strengthening critical infrastructure resilience to ensure seamless and reliable operations for leading energy providers. Additionally, leveraging digital humans and chatbots to enhance customer engagement and improve customer experiences.

We are delighted to be contributing to the success stories across our region, but there remains much more work to be done. Other industries such as healthcare, financial services and manufacturing still face complex regulatory, operational and workforce challenges that require more specialised AI enablement and governance support. These sectors stand to gain significantly from AI-driven efficiency, risk management and innovation when AI is responsibly scaled with industry-specific expertise.

Our AIIH aims to bridge these gaps by co-creating and validating AI use cases with industry partners, delivering end-to-end solutions and upskilling talent in line with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0. This ensures AI adoption is responsible, scalable and creates real-world impact across diverse work environments.

Data is well discussed topic, it’s the key challenge to AI technology adoption and implementation. How can Dell Technologies AIIH play key roles in teaching/helping an organisation on their data strategy?

A robust data strategy is the bedrock of any successful AI initiative. Without it, there can be no meaningful AI strategy, as bad data will cripple it before you can get started. Organisations must maintain a clean data platform with properly labeled, updated and accurate information. Clear accountability should also be established. For companies to adopt AI, a solid data management plan is essential.

Our AI Innovation Hub plays a crucial role in guiding organisations to build this foundation. We provide expertise to help them validate AI use cases, create prototypes and conduct proofs-of-concept, ensuring the organisation’s data is of high-quality and relevance. Through our open ecosystem model, we collaborate with industry partners to deliver scalable and secure data management solutions.

Furthermore, we are deeply invested in talent development. Our focused upskilling programmes, run in partnership with local institutes, are designed to build a pipeline of professionals skilled in AI engineering, data science and cloud-native architecture. This is complemented by our leadership in responsible AI governance, where we help organisations navigate data security, compliance and ethical deployment in line with Singapore’s national AI strategy.

By combining cutting-edge technology like our Dell PowerScale and ObjectScale data platforms with strategic advisory and skills development, we empower organisations to move from simple data collection to generating actionable insights with a trusted, AI-ready data foundation.

AI Enablement

Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub (AIIH) is working with 10 local institutes of higher learning to integrate essential skills as part of their current programs. Are the AI technology courses/curriculum going to be taught at Dell Technologies premises or they would be taught at respective IHLs premises? Would Dell Technologies AIIH be working with secondary schools too?

While the AI courses are conducted largely at the IHL premises, the curriculum is designed to be flexible and impactful. Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub experts do participate in guest lectures to provide industry insights and expertise. This ensures students receive a strong theoretical foundation within their academic environment, enriched with practical knowledge on the latest cutting-edge technology.

Regarding secondary schools, while we are currently focused on tertiary and mid-career professionals, we are always exploring future opportunities. Given our commitment to expanding the AI ecosystem, future initiatives could certainly include outreach programmes aimed at inspiring younger students.

“By the end of 2025, Dell will have trained around 10,000 students and mid-career professionals”. What would be the breakdown of students versus mid-career professionals? Is there an emphasis on students over mid-career professionals?

We do not have the breakdown in terms of no. of students trained versus mid-career professionals.

Our goal is to foster a balanced and robust AI ecosystem, which requires nurturing talent at all levels. Therefore, we place equal importance on equipping the next generation of leaders and empowering mid-career professionals to upskill and pivot into new roles. Both groups are absolutely vital and we do not have a rigid quota but focus on ensuring our programmes meet the distinct needs of both students entering the workforce and experienced professionals seeking to adapt and grow.

Beside teaching the technology, computing and technical skills and knowledge on AI technology, would Dell Technologies AIIH be teaching non-technical related skills such as soft skills to complement the curriculum that they are conducting?

While the technical curriculum such as AI engineering, machine learning operations and cloud-native architecture is core to our mission, we embed critical non-technical skills throughout our programmes. This approach is reflected in the design of our workshops, training modules and innovation challenges, which are designed to encourage project management, creative problem-solving and effective collaboration alongside technical proficiency. For example, events such as the annual Dell InnovateFest and the SCDF and Dell Innovation Challenge provide a platform where participants must apply both technical and soft skills to solve real-world problems, preparing them to be well-rounded and impactful leaders in the industry.

AI Leadership

In the recent National Day Rally 2025 speech by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, he placed great emphasis on AI technology to propel Singapore forward, urging Singaporeans to adopt AI, up-skill and upgrade. The government and major technology companies are advocating and pushing forward on AI technology.

Does a gap still exist between governments, technology companies and the business and public sectors regarding the roles, potential and outcomes of AI adoption—between what is advocated and how it is actually perceived and used in work and daily life? Has this gap narrowed over the years, or has it grown wider?

From our perspective, what we are seeing is a strong and encouraging alignment between the government’s vision and the readiness of the business sector.

There is a clear and ambitious path with the National AI Strategy 2.0, to utilise AI as a force for public good and backing it with a significant investment of over $1 billion. Key initiatives such as the Enterprise Compute Initiative also show a clear commitment to providing the resources needed to create value from AI.

What is exciting is that businesses are stepping up to meet this vision and are actively preparing, with over 90% planning to increase AI funding and 80% prioritising comprehensive AI strategies. This is where that partnership between the public and private sectors becomes so critical. For the national strategy to succeed, enterprises have a vital role to play as the engines that will drive this transformation on the ground.

That is precisely the vision that we, from a technology partner’s position, have for our AI Innovation Hub. We see our role as working alongside the government and local enterprises to help them move from ambition to execution, to work hand-in-hand with businesses to build the right data strategies, develop and scale AI use cases and upskill their talent. Therefore, it is about a collaborative ecosystem taking shape and various stakeholders working in unity to accelerate that journey, ensuring the transformative power of AI is realised across the entire economy.

How can Dell Technologies AIIH play key roles in alleviating the fears of AI technology replacing people in their work, as well as myths and misconceptions of AI technology?

Our approach is fundamentally people-first and we believe that technology, no matter how advanced, requires human expertise, creativity and collaboration to truly make a difference. This philosophy is at the core of how we work and innovate with AI.

One of the most important ways we do this is through our comprehensive training and upskilling programmes that prepare the workforce to work side-by-side with AI systems that serve as a powerful tool that complements and augments human expertise. We have committed to training approximately 10,000 students and mid-career professionals by the end of 2025, covering technical fields like AI engineering and machine learning operations, as well as soft skills crucial for effective human-AI interaction.

Furthermore, we actively engage in thought leadership and collaborate with industry and academic partners to promote the responsible and ethical development of AI. Through panels, workshops and practical project examples, we showcase how AI is being used to strengthen infrastructure, boost research and enhance customer experiences, all while creating new opportunities for people. Our active participation in policy development, including initiatives such as the AI Verify Foundation, underscores our commitment to ensuring AI’s safe and ethical use, which helps build public trust and mitigate fears.

How can Dell Technologies AIIH play key roles and in which areas for IMDA’s CTO-as-a-Service movement?

IMDA’s CTO-as-a-Service is a vital initiative for Singapore, it plays a critical role in democratising strategic digital expertise, especially for SMEs, which are the backbone of our economy. Helping these businesses get on the right track for their digital and AI transformation is essential for the nation’s progress.

For us, supporting enterprise digital transformation is also an important priority for us and we understand that the biggest barriers to adopting AI are often the initial cost and the risk of the unknown. Our AIIH is designed to directly address this, by helping them focus on use cases, develop and deploy tailored AI applications that enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. Our expertise in end-to-end AI deployment can help businesses overcome implementation barriers and align their AI strategies with organisational goals, without risking significant capital investment.

Personal Thoughts and Views from conducting this Interview about Dell APJ AIIH

From my past few years learning more about AI technology, covering the developments, the pros and cons of AI technology, the non technology side of AI, the impacts, its potentials and drawbacks, I am still learning and understanding more about AI technology in general (from an umbrella perspective), to specific industries, and how AI technology is already helping them to change and accelerate the growth, changes and adoption.

From this interview with Dell Technologies on its APJ AIIH, I got to learn and understand more about AI technology in the areas of AI Transformation, AI Enablement and AI Leadership, for organisations and for the younger digital natives generation that are growing up in mostly (or everything) digital and social media.

Personally, I feel the areas of AI Leadership and AI Enablement are more crucial than ever, compared to the past few years when the boom in AI technology started. This interview also showcase how technology companies such as Dell Technologies can help organisations to train, adopt, change and implement AI technology, beyond the technology and technical aspects of software and hardware, in the other areas of leadership, training and education, the human side of AI that I am talking about in my AI related articles.

Covering and writing about AI technology developments and changes are lengthy and can be heavy, from both technological, technical and intangible human perspectives. I would continue to write and share more insights about AI technology, developments and changes, in smaller and easier to digest bite sizes down the road.

Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub (AIIH)

The Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub (AIIH) is dedicated to advancing AI for Singapore and the region, this is an extension of the Dell Technologies Global Innovation Hub (GIH). Since 2019, Dell has invested over US$50 million to the GIH to drive key areas of growth in digital transformation, improving financial services delivery, enhancing healthcare, optimising energy efficiency and expanding access to quality education through innovative technology solutions.

The AIIH has three key objectives – AI Transformation, AI Enablement and AI Leadership, aligning closely with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0.

AI Transformation

Organisations that are planning to implement AI Transformation, they would definitely be looking at more than just digital transformation and deployment in AI technology.

Dell Technologies understand there is a critical need for support beyond infrastructure, Dell’s AIIH provides end-to-end capabilities bridging the gap between government and enterprises AI ambitions and successful deployment.

The demand for holistic support is supported by a recent research, where 62% of businesses in Singapore cited a preference for third-party AI partners that are capable of managing projects from strategy to implementation.

The Dell AIIH team will facilitate collaboration between organisations and partners to validate use cases, creating and testing prototypes out of Singapore for the region.

This hub has developed around 50 AI engineering solution prototypes, workshop modules and data science demo models. Since 2024, over 100 proof-of-concepts, workshops and demonstrations on AI engineering, Generative and Predictive AI have been conducted – all tailored for enterprises in the APJ region.

Many organisations have used Dell’s resources to drive innovation, with several initiatives progressing toward full deployment across various sectors. For example:

• Energy sector: Strengthening critical infrastructure resilience to ensure seamless and reliable operations for leading energy providers. Additionally, leveraging digital humans and chatbots to enhance customer engagement and improve customer experiences.
• Telecommunications sector: Assisting a leading telecom provider to improve AI development and deployment across their infrastructure, enhancing agility, resilience and overall operational efficiency.
• Education sector: Harnessing AI cloud technology to empower leading education providers, enhancing their research capabilities, fostering innovation and driving growth across their ecosystem.

The Dell Technologies AI Centre of Excellence Lab is at the forefront of innovation, advancing research and development in the AI PCs and edge computing designed for AI-specific use cases and workloads.

Complementing Dell AIIH, the lab is committed to delivering exceptional user experiences while collaborating closely with academic institutions and hardware partners. Together, they conduct AI research and validate proof-of-concepts, ensuring scalable AI solutions can be seamlessly deployed across edge and hybrid environments.

AI Enablement

Singapore is putting efforts and focus on skilling in the technology and digital sectors. Dell’s AIIH is working with 10 local institutes of higher learning to integrate essential AI skills as part of current programs. Some of these skills include AI engineering, platform engineering, machine learning operations, cotainerisation and cloud-native architecture.

All the efforts align with Singapore’s big push towards growing AI talent and expertise. According to Deel research, 47% of organisations in Singapore reported a lack of local AI talent to meet business needs.

By the end of 2025, Dell Technologies experts, through Dell AIIH, will have trained around 10,000 students and mid-career professionals from Dell’s customers and partners, equipping them with valuable technology skills to thrive in the future.

Dell InnovateFest and SCDF and Dell Innovation Challenge are two annual events that brings together ecosystem partners and students, providing a platform to showcase their creativity and harness technological innovations for social good. Some of theses solutions are showcased at Dell Technologies Forum Singapore event.

The National AI Strategy (NAIS 2.0), guided by the vision “AI for the Public Good, for Singapore and the World”, seeks to empower individuals and communities to use AI with confidence, discernment and trust.

Dell Technologies Forum 2025

Attending Dell Technologies Forum 2025 in Singapore, it’s always an eye-opener for me, keeping up to date with new technology developments in both hardware and software side of things by Dell Technologies.

I would visit and check out Dell Technologies in action from both hardware and software perspectives (unable to cover everything though), learning more about their new AI powered computers, and one segment that was of interest to me was on where Dell Technologies works, support and play crucial roles in the areas of training and education.

There was also a media session on Dell Technologies AIIH announcement. With my strong interests in digital transformation, AI technology, as well as on training and education in technology, I prepared a list of questions for an in-depth interview with Dell Singapore in relation to Dell AIIH announcement, understanding and learning more about AIIH three key objectives in AI Transformation, AI Enablement and AI Leadership.
