We'll discuss the health benefits of regular practice of Taoist Tai Chi Society® internal arts and methods. We'll demonstrate the 108 movements and how they are introduced, step-by-step, over the next three to four months. We'll be spending most of our time learning the first few moves, so dress for exercise! When the Open House is over, you should have a good idea of how our classes our taught, what it is like to be a member, and all of your questions should be answered.

There is no cost or obligation for the Open House.

What will you learn in beginner class?
Our beginner class offers a friendly environment to introduce students to Taoist Tai Chi Society® internal arts and methods. In the beginner class you will progressively learn the sequence of moves of Taoist Tai Chi Society® taijiquan, the art of longevity and health. One of our nationally-accredited instructors will demonstrate each move and give you guidance on how to perform them. Within 3-4 months of weekly classes you will learn all 108 moves of the set. In Arizona, beginner classes are offered in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Flagstaff.

Beginner class follows the Open House, each week, on the same day, at the same time, and at the same place. Beginners classes typically last about four months. The goal of the beginner class is to introduce the 108 movements of Taoist Tai Chi Society® taijiquan and begin to improve our health. While we welcome visitors at all of our classes, we encourage those that are interested to attend an Open House, because during the Open House, we have plenty of time to answer your questions, plus you will benefit from hearing the questions of others.

Visitors are always welcome.
</br\>

How should I dress?
Please dress comfortably. We will be introducing the first few moves of Taoist Tai Chi Society® taijiquan. You will be moving around, so please dress to allow comfortable movement.

No particular clothing needs to be purchased. However, we recommend that you wear comfortable loose fitting pants and comfortable shoes. Most people wear sneakers, gym pants and a t-shirt. Wearing shoes with heels is not recommended.

What happens after the beginner class?
Taoist Tai Chi Society® internal arts and methods are taught on a noncompetitive basis. After completing the beginner course, continuing classes offer an opportunity for more intensive practice and refinement. You will learn Foundation Exercises, and refine underlying principles and movements. Learning Taoist Tai Chi Society® internal arts and methods, including taijiquan, is a life-long process in which one discovers many layers of development. With diligent daily practice you will notice changes in your health and physiology. As you change, your instructor will guide you in adjustments in your practice to achieve further progress. In Arizona, continuing classes are offered in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Flagstaff. In addition to regular classes, we periodically offer Workshops and Intensives, which are led by experienced, visiting instructors.

Who attends our classes?
Our classes are attended by a diverse group of people of all ages, ranging from teenagers to seniors. We offer a friendly, welcoming environment for people of all physical abilities to learn and practice taijiquan at their own pace. Our classes attract people from the entire Valley area, including Cave Creek, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Mesa, North Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Surprise, Sun City, and Tempe.

May I visit a class?

We invite you to visit any of our classes to see the 108 movements of the Taoist Tai Chi Society® taijiquan. At our beginner classes, you can observe how students are introduced step by step to the moves. Visiting a continuing class will give you the opportunity to see the entire set performed by a group.
Drop in at any of our regularly scheduled classes in Phoenix, Scottsdale or Flagstaff.
What happens at the Open House?

During the Open House, we'll teach you the first few moves Taoist Tai Chi Society® taijiquan.

</br\>

Parking.

Parking at the Pima Inn will be very full. There are additional parking lots to the right, behind and around the building. Please use these lots if you can not find a parking spot in the front parking lot.

Registration.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Beginner's class will follow each Saturday for about four months. If you know that you would like to register for classes and become a member, we would like to invite you to arrive as early as 6:00pm to complete the membership registration form. However, we will also be available after the open house for those who wish to register afterwards.

Pre-Registration

If you are interested in trying Taoist Tai Chi, we recommend that you pre-register and attend the open house or the first class. If there is a last minute schedule change, we will contact everyone who is pre-registered by email. At the first class, we will teach the first few moves, talk about the health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi and answer any questions you might have. If class size needs to be limited because of room-size, priority will go to those who have pre-registered. However, pre-registration does not obligate you in any way. You may pre-register by phone or by email.
