Error 183: Solved

Forget about the cause of the problem. in my case this error always came up whenever I tried to install a version of IVT bluesoleil.

This is how I managed to get it solved:

step 1: Uninstall all previous versions of bluesoleil in your computer.

step 2: Go to start>run>regedit delete all register key that is set to IVT bluesoleil. Be careful to do just that. I suggest you back up your registry first before you do this.

Use the edit>find>bluesoleil to see all bluesoleil keys as above.

Delete bluesoleil keys and folders only. In the picture above delete only the bluesoleilCS keys. Leave the key with data –service. If the whole folder (on the left is named bluesoleil then you can delete it.

step 3: Go to start>disk cleanup and delete all temporary files possibly stored by your installer for previous versions of IVT bluesoleil.

step 4: Restart your computer and reinstall bluesoleil. Pronto. It will run and finish right now.

If it does not then the likely problem is that you are running a x86 installer on a x64 bit computer or vice versa. Just make sure you have the right stuff. And follow the steps above it worked for me. It can work for anybody, trust me I am no IT guru and I can make this work. Enjoy.

How to recover your Google App password

As a freelance web designer you may find that you have lost the url Google sent you through which you can open and set up mail boxes or for some reason you find that you have lost your Google Apps password here is a simple way to reset it without contacting Google Support directly.

In this case I set up a domain purchased through Google checkout for someone. Google normally sends an introductory or welcoming email to you admin email box used during the checkout. This email contains links and support information on how to open and configure several Google Apps bundled with the domain purchase. If you loose this mail it could be hard for you to get access to your Google Apps email set up. A simple way to gain access to and set up you Google Apps email is as follows:

Go to Google Apps homepage www.google.com/a
Enter you domain name in the space for returning users
Select manage this domain from the drop down
hit go
Because your domain is set up to use Google Apps but is not yet set up, the page will display a link to reset your password if required.
Select to reset your password and hit enter
Google will now automatically send a reset user name and password to the default admin email for that domain
Log to your email and follow the links to reset your password
For blogger the username is by default “bloggeradmin”, however, you will find that the email for bloggeradmin will not work properly. You may never be able to access the mail box for bloggeradmin. Google would have to figure that one out.

If you are the domain admin and you forgotten your password the same process would also reset your password and send a new password to the default email. Only this time you do this from the sign on page by clicking the ‘cannot access account’ link.

How to Set up Aircrack-ng for Windows

Aircrack-ng works well on Linux environment but for Windows many cards are not supported. See project home page: http://www.aircrack-ng.org for wi-fi cards/chips supported in windows.

To set up aircrack-ng for windows: Download code for aircrack-ng for windows from tinyshell

The latest code should have all you need to run aircrack-ng on windows. But you may need to download the following files: cygwin1.dll, Peek.dll, Peek5.sys and msvcr70.dll These you could get from anyone of the following locations dll-files. Also you can get the files here:

Unzip your download of aircrack-ng codes to C:\aircrack-ng-[1x]. And then Download cygwin1.dll, Peek.dll, Peek5.sys and msvcr70.dll from the links above; unzip and copy them to the folder C:\aircrack-ng-[1x]\bin The aircrack-ng for windows install is done.

To run aircrack-ng Go to C:\aircrack-ng-[1x]\bin and double click on aircrack-ng GUI

For supported cards and chips the airdump-ng tab can be used to capture packets as well, otherwise, find another program for capturing packets save the files in .cap, .pcap, .iv, or .dump file format extension and them dump the capture into aircrack-ng.

How to Set up Dial Up Network Connection over Bluetooth Modem

This is one of those techie stuff that anyone set up with a little help. Just follow the directions below. For purposes of illustration the systems I have used here is the windows 7 laptop with a pre-installed bluetooth device and Nokia N78. Again any bluetooth enabled cellphone would work similarly. You may not even need to install the cellphone software in the computer to get this to work. If you have any problem drop me a line on the comment column.

To use the bluetooth enabled cellphone or smartphone as a modem to connect a computer to the Internet. The modem over bluetooth wireless connection between the phone and your computer can be made using Bluetooth® technology as follows:

Step 1 – Make sure your phone bluetooth is discoverable

Press the menu button
Go to tools
select bluetooth
Make sure bluetooth is on and “my phone’s visibility” is set to “Shown to all”.
Note the name of “My phone’s name”
Exit

Step 2 – Set up the bluetooth connection

Select start>all programs>bluetooth>bluetooth settings
Add new network connection. If your device is not present select refresh or repeat step1 above. Select Next>
If passkey is required enter any four numbers and repeat the same four numbers in Nokia N78 when asked. When connection is accepted the following screen will appear.
Click Advanced modem settings and enter the following extra initialization settings. This is for South Africa: at+cgdcont=1”ip”,”your internet apn”,””,0,0
Your internet apn for virgin mobile South Africa is vdata. Select Next>
The network profile screen appears. Enter your internet apn as the connection name, enter *99***#1 as the dial up telephone number.
Check “set connection as default”. Leave the name and password fields blank.
Select finish.

Step 3 - Dial your connection and happy browsing

Select the network connections icon on your notification area>Select your connection>connect>dial (no username and password)
Go to your browser you are connected to the internet.

Virgin Mobile is great for prepaid. Good connection speed on EDGE with mostly 50-99% signal strength across the board. My usage at the moment is at 279.4mb/month. On other South African networks that gives me at least R558 on prepaid per month. But with Virgin Mobile I pay just about R140 for the same amount of data. And this is prepaid – no contracts, if I do not use anything I do not pay a cent. Mind you about half of that 279mb/month goes to updates (especially Norton live updates).
