The Beanie League – Registrations Now Open

Do you feel that real ultimate is played outdoors on real grass (and mud) and in real weather?

Beanie league is for you.

Beanie league is a hat league (you will be allocated to a team) that is pitched at intermediate to advanced players and goes for 6 weeks starting from 28th of May

We are aiming to get 4 teams which means player numbers will be capped at around 40 so get in early! Special preference will be given to women and to any intermediate player who is looking to step up a level.

So please tell your friends and go to the registration page and sign up!

Nominations and Votes are now open!

At the Annual Dinner, the TUA awards players and volunteers in our community who have done something special. These awards are to recognise the contributions that many people make to our vibrant community. There are many different categories in which to nominate players or volunteers who you think deserve recognition, and you can even create your own fun category. These awards are community awards, so we need nominations and votes from the community. That’s you guys.So please, go to the Nomination and Voting form when you have two minutes to spare. It won’t take long and it will help the community out tremendously. Whether you’ve played one league or 100, your input is valuable.

And don’t forget, you need to purchase your ticket online for the Annual Dinner which is coming up very soon. Book your ticket on or before 3rd June to get the Early Bird discount! This is a huge night on the Ultimate calendar, and it will be great to get the community behind the event. You can do so by purchasing your ticket, and coming along for a delicious 3-course meal at The Duke. It’s great to see players and friends in a different atmosphere, so book your ticket now and get all your team-mates to as well!

2012 Annual Dinner tickets are now available…

Each year the TUA hosts an annual dinner to thank volunteers and players. It is a chance for the whole community to get together and socialise away from the fields. It is a great night of fun and frivolity, photos and awards, and a great chance to unwind with some friends you’ve made on the field.

This year the Annual Dinner will be held on the 9th of June and tickets are now available. The cost is $40 per person, which covers a three-course meal. There will be speeches and awards (more information to come!). This is the biggest social event on the TUA calendar, and it would be great for everyone in the community to be there. Partners and family are welcome too.

Autumn League is up and running!

Autumn league has started! The first game started last sunday and everyone had a blast!
It’s not too late to join, though, so if you’re interested in joining the indoor league, sign up at The Autumn League registration page.

Quoll win Silver at Nationals (Div 2)

Just a quick note to congratulate Quoll on an incredibly successful campaign at Division 2 Nationals. Held this weekend in Melbourne, Quoll played an outstanding tournament and made it through to the grand final against Heads of State. The wind was dominant during the grand-final with only a few upwinders scored. Quoll played an incredibly hard fought game but ended up going down 14-12. Still, coming home with a Silver is a wonderful achievement and we’d like to congratulate them on an outstanding achievement. The team was coached/captained by Steve Wright and Huddy Fuller, with assistance from Jase de Puit. Congratulations to the entire team on a fantastic performance, we can’t wait to see the photos!
