Everyone wants to know - does it hurt?

Of course it hurts a little to get a tattoo. But most people find tattooing to be more irritating than painful - its just not that bad. Some people hurt more than others, but about 90% of our clients don’t think it is such a big deal.

Body piercing feels like a hard pinch. Before you can say ouch - its over. Neither tattooing nor piercing hurts afterward.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/tat2me/~4/r9CtgulB8w8" height="1" width="1"/>

Yellow Winged Fairy - Free Tattoo Art

Traditionally Tattooists like hairdressers are tipped at 15-20%. Tips are an important way of expressing extra appreciation for a job well done.

Artists don’t make as much money as the price of the tattoo suggests. A tip usually means a lot to the artist. Even a small one of $5 will be appreciated.

The more generous you are the more the artist will remember you with fondness and will be happy <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/tat2me/~4/QP8lbRXRdDk" height="1" width="1"/>

Question: "Can I bring a friend with me for support?"

It depends on the studios.

Some places don't mind a few friends and others allow none. Be sure to ask before you make an appointment.

We have found that it is best if you only have one person with you. When things are loud and crowded it can distract your artist. Don't be surprised if your friend is offered a seat and expected to stay in it.

Tattooing and piercing is not a good place to bargain for a cheaper price or to play big wheel. Many tattooists are not worth seeing at all and charge very low prices. The really good ones can charge just about anything.

We have found that the really good tattoo artists are charging about $100 per hour. This means that a small tattoo will cost around $50 to $70.

Professionals also often have <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/tat2me/~4/A-eldZ836Rg" height="1" width="1"/>

Tribal Dragon

Wear loose comfortable clothing. Don’t wear your best outfit, despite our best efforts to protect your clothing tattoo ink can splatter in an uncontrollable way and does not wash out of clothing.

Be clean. No one wants to work on skin that has seen 8 hours of grime and dirt or have muddy boots tracking into their work area.

A professional studio will use full hospital sterilization and disposable items for your safety.

There are virtually no health problems related to professional tattooing. There has never been a single reported case of tattoo related HIV transmission. Signs of Normal Healing

At first the tattoo looks shiny, swollen and the colors are extra bright. Within 24 hours the scab forms, this should be very thin, looks like the tattoo and with proper care is slightly flexible.

After about 4-5 days the tattoo will go through a period of peeling. This looks similar to a sunburn peeling. Do not base your shopping on price. There are no bargain tattoos or piercings - just good ones and bad ones.
