Rebecca Wolfe has had a passion for the arts her entire life. From dancing for a studio to playing the banjo, Becca continually surrounds herself with creative hobbies and interests.

Her talents in design caught our eye in particular and Tattoo Projects has brought her on board as a Junior Art Director.

Becca graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Visual Communications and focus on graphic design. She has experience designing for both print and interactive having worked with clients including TEDxCharlotte, Napa Filters, and Fort Mill Magazine.

We are excited to have Becca join our Charlotte advertising agency. Her nickname “Chewbecca” has already won the “best nickname in the office” award. Just ask to see her wookiee Halloween costume sometime.

Next week, Tattoo Projects will be shooting a TV production for Sheetz right at home in Charlotte. We will also be tapping into local talent and are excited to be partnering with Nascar Media Group for production.

Nascar Media Group has been a longstanding part of Charlotte culture. They have produced unscripted and original series productions for networks including FOX, Outdoor Channel, CMT, SPEED, GAC and National Geographic International.

Working with local partners is a key way for us to become more engrained in the community and help bring credit to our growing city. The Queen City is home to many talented Charlotte ad agencies, production companies, and other creative personnel. When we have the opportunity to collaborate with other creative minds that are kicking ass in Charlotte, we jump on it.

We are pumped for this shoot and are looking forward to working with more Charlotte -based companies in the future.

In 2011, Tattoo Projects was named the 2nd fastest growing company in Charlotte by Charlotte Business Journal.

To celebrate our accomplishments and kick off 2012 in style, we were invited to attend Charlotte Business Journal’s Power Party. The event, held at The Mint Museum Uptown, brought together honorees of 2011 recognition programs including 40 Under 40, Women in Business, and Fast 50.

Our Creative Partners, Buffy McCoy Kelly and Rudy Banny, attended the party and enjoyed connecting with many others that are making a big impact in Charlotte while celebrating the successes of our Charlotte advertising agency.

Since Tattoo Projects was named the 2012 AAF Charlotte ADDY Creative Partner, our Charlotte ad agency has been busy crafting the campaign for the event.

One of our primary goals for the 2012 ADDY Awards was to increase professional and student submissions. To do so, Tattoo Projects created the “Achieve Rockstar Status” theme to celebrate all of Charlotte’s top dance, music, fashion, art and pop-culture rock stars. This year, the Charlotte ADDY Awards isn’t just THE show for the best ad industry talent — it’s a celebration of top influencers in the Charlotte creative arts scene.

To increase student participation in particular, Tattoo Projects established a student/agency partner program. This program enables local ad agencies to sponsor and cover the cost of student submissions. The partnership program relieves students of the financial burden of submitting work and helps agencies establish relationships with up-and-coming local talent.

Call for entries closed last week and the final tally yielded some powerful results.

This year, the Charlotte ADDYs saw a 200% increase in company/individual participation, 60% increase in total number of entries, and a 1,200% increase in student ADDY participation from 6 area universities.

The 2012 Charlotte ADDY Awards are shaping up to be a kick ass celebration, and the entry results are just a preview of the magnitude of this year’s event.

Our client relationship with the most kick ass convenience store, Sheetz, dates back to 1999.

During that time, our Charlotte ad agency has played a major role in driving the growth of Sheetz through a variety of branding campaigns. We are responsible for developing the “Feel The Love” branding that continues to be a recognizable and important asset to Sheetz.

This week, our latest Sheetz work will launch. This campaign includes outdoor, on lot, and in-store POS materials– all created to spread the love and drive sales.

Sadly, Sheetz has not yet made its way to Charlotte, but keep an eye out for our work at Sheetz locations across the east coast.

For our client, Scooperdude pet waste removal service, Tattoo Projects created a direct marketing piece that’s sure to hit home with pet owners. Our team planted piles of fake dog poop on the doorsteps of pet-owners’ homes in targeted Charlotte neighborhoods. After discovering that the pile on their front porch isn’t real (thank goodness), consumers are treated to a coupon affixed to the underside of the poop. The message? By enlisting Scooperdude’s services, this could be the last piece of poop Charlotte pet owners ever have to pick up.

If you are a dog owner in Charlotte, keep an eye out — because we may still have a creative advertising surprise coming your way.

Interning at Tattoo Projects is a big responsibility. You get hands-on experience working on multiple projects for local and national clients. We are constantly discovering new talents from our interns; which now include booty dancing.

Yes, our new interns (and a non-intern) recreated Beyonce’s Single Ladies video, with a bit of Tattoo’s kick-ass style thrown in the mix.

We don’t know whether to cry, laugh, or both. But we do challenge any other Charlotte ad agency to a dance off.

As the official creative partner for Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, our ad agency recently took on the project of designing the non-profit’s holiday card.

To capture the spirit of the holidays and Ronald McDonald House, we baked, built, and shot a custom gingerbread house and winter wonderland scene.

Technology is great, but it is tough to replace a hand-made look and feel. Often times we need to roll up our sleeves and make it happen to get that extra kick-ass creative touch.

Tattoo Projects has a history of producing stand-out work for UNC Charlotte. Charlotteans may remember the giant pickaxes we created as part of our full branding campaign for the University.

Recently, J. Murrey Atkins Library at UNC Charlotte came to us for a branding campaign. Although the library is on the University’s campus, it is way more than a ubiquitous “college” library. We took on a campaign to transform the perception of the library and showcase it as a state-of-the-art, information-rich social gathering place geared for inspiration, excitement, and comfort.

A piece from our campaign for the library was recently spotted on Break.com. Looks like it is exam season again.
