Dr. Paul R. Fleischman M.D., psychiatrist, author, and Vipassana Meditation Teacher, will talk on "The Scientific World View and Vipassana Meditation" on Tuesday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the Morris Center, 10 East Broad Street.

This discussion investigates how revolutions in physics and biology, during the 20th century, have transformed our vision of the world and ourselves creating increased support for and insight into Vipassana Meditation.

GIS Day Savannah is an annual event to introduce geographic information systems (GIS) education to our local school children and promote the capabilities and use of GIS to the general business community. GIS Day is celebrated internationally as part of National Geographic’s International Geography Week. ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC STATE UNIVERSITY computer science students compete on campus to showcase problem-solving skills at regional competition of IBM-sponsored contest.

Teams from 12 universities are coming to the ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC STATE UNIVERSITY site of the Southeast Region of the ACM Intercollegiate Programming Contest. At the same time, two other universities in the Southeast—Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne and the University of South Alabama in Mobile—will simultaneously host southeast regional competition.
