Last year the a the Reserve bank of India finalized few sighs for Indian Rupee and were open for public voting in order to select the most meaning full and unique sigh for Indian Rupee.

The jury finally has selected this Symbol which had been designed by a IIT Post graduate D Udaya Kumar.

The sign includes ‘Ra’ of Devnagiri and the Roman ‘R’ There is a parallel line which denotes the equal to sign.

The Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni in New Delhi saif-
"With this India will join an elite group of countries which have a distinct currency symbol. It denotes the robustness of Indian economy. I will now hold up the design that was finally selected. This was sent in by Udaya Kumar,"

Indiatimes had started a new service called HiBuddy, which lets you record messages from your mobile phone by dialing a number and and create a channel which you can share with millions of people.

The service is pretty cool as it does not require any internet connection and browsing through various pages to publish your content. All you have to do it, call the number, follow the IVR and record you message. You channel’s subscribers will get a notification via SMS and they can listen to your message over the call.

We already talked about the Mobile Subscriber base in India is around 600 million, so this is a huge opportunity for a service like this.

Facebook is the number one social networking site in the world and India it is growing at a tremendous rate. This move will benefit both the parties as the mobile subscribers base is around 600 Million and the Internet Subscribers Base is 60 Million.  Mobile Internet play an important role here.

Currently Airtel offers Unlimited GPRS Plan for Rs98. And there are regular charges of 10Paise/50Kb if you don’t take this plan.

They are going to invest around 150 million US Dollars in Indian Office which will be set up in Hyderabad and they will be hiring around 500 people for it. Currently Facebook has around 8 million Indian users and growing at a fast rate, people are leaving Orkut and Joining Facebook as they feel it’s faster and in fashion.

Qualcomm recently bagged spectrum to offer broadband services to few circles is going to sell 26% stakes to a telecom networking company called Tulip.

The deal is said to be done with in a week, and everything else is not yet out. Qualcomm, which is a US based mobile chip making company, said that there was a legal requirement to sell at least 26% stakes to a local company in order to provide Wireless Broadband services.
