Mark 16:15

The world is crying out for a Saviour today. Many of them are looking to men and financial structures to save them. We as The Church of God know that none can save but Jesus Christ. We have that message. It is our duty to carry it to the world. Will you help get the Word out? God wants our obedience and sacrifice. Perhaps the Lord has already laid on your heart something you can do for the March World Mission Drive, but it just seems like too much. Maybe you have thought, “There’s no way I can do that.” Consider the sacrifice of just a few of these Faithful Servants:

1. Jesus Christ – The ultimate Faithful Servant paid the ultimate sacrifice. Isaiah 53:4-6 -- 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

2. The Apostle Paul – Went through many hardships and trials while bringing the gospel to the world. 2 Corinthians 11: 24-28 24Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 28Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

3. St. Patrick— He didn’t really rid Ireland of snakes and he wasn’t even Irish. He was kidnapped by pirates from his home in Britain when he was just a teenager at the end of the 4th Century. He was taken by the pirates to Ireland, where he was sold into slavery. Patrick endured more than just the hardships of slavery. Ireland was almost entirely pagan. They worshipped nature and practiced human sacrifice. Patrick cried out to God to deliver him from this Godless nation. Six years later, God made a way for Patrick to flee Ireland. Patrick made it back home to his family in Britain. Then Patrick had a dream of the Irish people begging him to come back. Patrick knew that this dream was from God. Patrick went back to the land of his former captivity, Ireland. This time he came not as a slave, but as a missionary. Many times he faced death at the hands of the druids. He was even kidnapped again and held for two weeks. God delivered him each time. As a result of Patrick’s sacrifice, many in Ireland came to know Jesus Christ.

4. David Brainerd (1718-1746)– Missionary to Native American Indians. Throughout David Brainerd’s missionary work he was plagued with tuberculosis. He lived in the woods in a hut with straw for a bed. His diet consisted of mush, boiled corn, bread baked in the ashes and very little meat. He walked many miles just to preach to the Indians. He preached even while he was coughing up blood and in much pain. He was always cold and had no medicine. He was given offers to preach in places where he could have a house and comfort but turned them down. His love for God and the mission work overrode the need for comfort. He worked for the Lord until his body could take no more. He died from tuberculosis at the age of 29.

These few Faithful Servants sacrificed it all to further the gospel. Each of them did their work with joy even as they suffered. Has what God asked us to do for Missions even compare with these? Pray about what God wants you to do for the March World Mission Drive. It would be wonderful if each church could at least double what was given in the October Drive. May God bless each of you Faithful Servants for your obedience and sacrifice for Him!

Mission Prayer Focus for March:
National Overseer Patrice Tshitadi Kalamba, and the countries of Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, and Cameroon

National Overseer George C. There were around 62 in attendance. It was a great treat to hear of the mission travels of Brother Hawkins and Brother Ard. A video slideshow was shown of our beautiful people in several countries of Africa worshipping the Lord. We also heard of many people in other parts of the world that are asking for the Church to come teach them. It is exciting to see that the work of the Lord is reaching so many areas! The March World Mission Drive is near. This is an excellent time to take our place in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please be in much prayer about what you can do for Missions.

Other Mission News:

A sad report came from Bro. Paul, the National Overseer of North India. One of our ministers died while returning from one of their mission trips. Please pray for Bro. Paul and all those affected by this tragedy. Praise the Lord for the four souls who were saved during their mission trip! Our missionaries are truly sacrificing much for the Gospel’s sake. Here is the report from Bro. Paul:

“My dear Loving Brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in the name of Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

As you know that we went for mission trip to Boyapadu near by the sea. We started 20 members from our place. We saw bitter experience after the mission work. When we return from mission work we are ready to catch the train. The train came to the station it is full of crowed. Some of our members are get in, me and Brother Peter were stand at the door. We stand nearly two hours and it is not possible for us to stand more time we are very tired. Suddenly, Brother Peter loose his grip and fall down. I tried to hold him but I can’t. Some of our brothers pull chain ,train was stopped we went there………………………….. he died. It is very sad news in our mission work. After the postmortem they handover the body after two days. It is very expensive to shift the body to his place even though as per the request of His wife. We shifted the body to his place and buried the body. I went bitter experience. Brother Peter’s wife and relatives are blamed and abused me. I wept a lot, still I’m in depress. These verses gave me comfort. I Peter 4:12. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. I beg you all please pray for Brother Peter’s family. We lost one good evangelist. God did great miracle in the mission work. Four persons are accepted Jesus and were took baptism. Praise the Lord.

For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. Romans 14:8

My dear loving brother we need your valuable and loving prayers. Once again I’m very thankful to you all for your prayers and love.

Thanking you
In His Service
Bro.Paul”

Jesus, the Good and Perfect Gift

"Every good gift and every perfect girft is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

Don't know what to get that hard-to-buy-for stranger in a foreign land this Christmas? Give them the perfect gift taht will not only last a lifetime, but will last throughout eternity. Give the gift of Jesus t oday. By supporting Missions, you are giving the gift of Jesus to the world. Jesus is our good gift and our perfect gift. He is the gift that always fits, always satisfies, and never wears out. The whole world needs Him! There are many needs on the mission field at this moment. Not only do we have so many unsaved to reach, we have members of The Church of God in other lands that have little to no clothes or food. Also, our ministers have travel and other expenses as they take the message abroad. What better time than Christmas to see all of those needs met? Give to Missions today! Always remember to support our National Overseers each month by the Missionary Partnership Alliance. Another great way to give is by the Sharing Hands ministry (marking "Most urgent need" is bes). Not only will you be giving to hungry souls in need of the Gospel, you will be giving back to Jesus what He has given to you. Each soul that is won is a precious gift to our Savior. Jesus deserves Christmas presents too! After all, it is His birthday!

Merry Christmas!!

WMB Test Message

This is the first test for this Ministry's Blog.
