“As you may all be aware by now, our school went under 8ft of floodwater that easily devastated the whole school.  Our library, in fact, is almost bare with a good 99% of our books washed away in the flood.

Thus, in line with our book month in November, we are urging everyone to HELP IN RESTORING OUR LIBRARY BY DONATING BOOKS ON 13NOVEMBER09, FRIDAY.

For this purpose, our principal, _____________, specifically REQUESTS FOR NOVELS so our kids can start reading their favourite titles again.  As a book donor, you will be provided book stickers where you can put your child’s name and these shall be placed on the books you will donate. For starters we are enclosing 3 book stickers but you can donate more than three books, of course.  There will be more stickers available during the book donation activity on Friday, 13NOV09.”

The school suffered some major damage when Typhoon Ondoy ravaged the country. Classrooms were submerged in flood waters, library books and school supplies left in classrooms were deemed unfit for use.

If there was something positive about this, it was that the deluge happened on a Saturday afternoon morning and not when the children are in school.

No need to order Amazon books, too little time to do that. I plan to scour bargain book stores on Wednesday or Thursday to get books for the drive.

Congratulations to Chats and Bambie who finished 5k. Woot!

I didn’t chicken out, I just didn’t want to further do damage on the shin that hurts like crazy.

The fact that I was not able to get my shirt and number packet from the Izod store in TriNoma where I registered despite going there several times last week (including Friday afternoon) is probably a sign that I am not ready yet should go easy before going to my rounds again. If I got my packet, that would be another story.

I have prepared for this run (not so that I have to take thermogenic fat burner, lol), oh well, maybe it was not meant to be. Yet.

I know I still have to do better or  maybe even should not over do things and NOT jump over those excavations on the streets. Gah.

Now, about that run with Piolo…

This is Bonifacio High Street, a high end place to shop and to be seen.

This place used to be Fort Bonifacio, a military base. I don’t really know how it came to be that this vast government property became a developers’ haven with expensive retail stores and restaurants, corporate offices and high rise condo units.

Oh well.

I am contemplating on getting a Globe Tattoo Broadband which I can use just in case we can’t have internet connection during our sessions. I have been meaning to get one especially when the price for a dongle was slashed by more than 50%

Of course there are apprehensions about getting one. When I talked to a blogger friend during an event we both attended, she told me she uses Globe Tattoo and is quite satisfied with the service.

The ideal setting for me, I found out, would be time-based browsing. PhP5 for 15 minutes is good enough especially during sessions because I can always say we have to stop because I may run out of load credits. To maximize my connection, i must need to use WCDMA setting for the best connection possible. If in case one uses a mobile phone with a Globe Tattoo SIM, this setting is also the preferred one to use (or make sure the phone has this spec).

And if I need to just quickly check my email, charges will only be PhP0.15 per kilobyte as long as I text KB to 1111 using the Globe Tattoo SIM.

Hmmm… I still had to do a little research and found these!

I don’t know what has gotten into me but I did. I signed up for the shortest distance though it seems like a full run for me, lol.

I guess I had to take the first step, blindly if it seems like so, in my quest to find a fitness program for me.

Sure, I am not that prepared in terms of stats, stamina and even the proper gear but then again, when will I be if I didn’t take this risky step?

I know this developing affinity to walking (and uhm, ok, something that resembles running in between walking) may seem too late to come but I am feeling the good effects. I see the same results with the fit-looking and happy guys (ok, senior citizen guys) who walk faster and cover longer distance than me.

I seem to feel lighter maybe because I sweat a lot when I do my rounds. This is probably one of the best fat burners one can have.

I hope I will be able to finish and not be a DNF. Did.Not.Finish

This particular bag of used coffee grounds can be had for FREE. Just go to the nearest Starbucks Cafe in your area and asked for those used coffee grounds.

Proper storage is encouraged. Yes, bags like these should not be left lying on tile counters. These should be used as soon as possible (two weeks from when these were used for maximum effect, especially when mixing with garden soil.
