This number set includes a page for each number 0-20. Students are given directions to color the number a particular color. Students are to make it a game of &#8220;hide and seek&#8221; as they look to find (tag) the directed number on each page. The numbers on each page are randomly placed for finding and coloring.<br>

To add more skills and to include different levels of activities, students can flip to the back side of their paper and write number 0-20.<br>

<p>This activity is connected to the CCGPS ELACCKL2a. Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I. This packet contains 10 pages. Each page has a simple story on it including five sentences. The ten stories are about Easter baskets, bees, egg hunting, butterflies, rain, Easter Bunny, Easter chick, ladybugs, hiding eggs, and painting eggs. The sentences are not written correctly. The first letter in each sentence has not been capitalized as well as I and Easter, and the ending punctuation is missing. Have your students rewrite each sentence correctly. Begin each sentence with a capital letter and add the correct ending punctuation. The sentences used contain frequently used sight words, decodable words that students should be able to read, and a few other common nouns that students see often. These activities are great for morning work, literacy centers, homework or for a quick mini lesson on including capital letters and ending punctuation in sentences. Students can read the story to a partner or to the teacher after correcting the sentences. Students could also add other details to the story using the back of their paper.<br>

This 13 page book includes a title page with bubble letters spelling the focused sight word for students to color, then 10 pages include a black and white picture at the top of each page with a sentence using the focused sight word. There are two more pages asking students to draw a picture of their own and write a sentence of their own using the sight word, and then the final page asks students to trace the sight word three times and then write it three times on their own on the blank line. After this, there are 13 additional pages with the exact pictures and words as the first 13 pages. The only difference is that on this second copy of the book, the sight word being focused on is dotted on each page for students to trace.&nbsp;<br>

This activity is connected to the CCGPS ELACCKL2a. Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
This packet contains 6 pages. Each page has a simple story on it including five sentences about pets. The six stories are about fishing, look at my fish, big fish, fishing hat, the pond, and worms.<br>
<br>
The sentences are not written correctly. The first letter in each sentence has not been capitalized, and the ending punctuation is missing.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
Have your students rewrite each sentence correctly. Use capital letters correctly and add the correct ending punctuation. The sentences used contain frequently used sight words, decodable words that students should be able to read, and a few other common nouns that students see often and should be able to figure out using the small picture clue and/or title.<br>
<br>
These activities are great for morning work, literacy centers, and homework or for a quick mini lesson on including capital letters and ending punctuation.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
Students can read the story to a partner or to the teacher after correcting the sentences. Students could also add other details to the story using the back of their paper.&nbsp;<br>

This 13 page book includes a title page with bubble letters spelling the focused sight word for students to color, and then 10 pages include a black and white picture at the top of each page with a sentence using the focused sight word. There are two more pages asking students to draw a picture on their own and write a sentence on their own using the sight word, and then the final page asks students to trace the sight word three times and then write it three times on their own on the blank line. After this, there are 13 additional pages with the exact pictures and words as the first 13 pages. The only difference is that on the second copy of the book, the sight word being focused on is dotted on each page for students to trace.&nbsp;<br>

<p>Picture prompts for writing provides students with the topic to write about. Picture prompts also provide students with other details to include in their writing. This packet includes 13 picture prompts to get writing ideas flowing for students. These 13 pictures are all types of transportation including airplane, cars (2), log truck, motorcycle, sailboat, hummer, battle tank, tractor (front end loader), train, rocket ship, bus (2). The bottom half of the page contains lines for students to use for writing about the picture. Writing pages may be used for narrative, informational, or opinion writings. 				        <div style="text-align:left; margin-bottom:20px; "><p><strong>This emergent reader, My Vv Book,</strong> is connected to several CCGPS listed below. This 12 page book is designed so that you can copy the book, cut in half, staple, and then it is ready for use. The 12 pages consist of a title page &#8220;My Vv Book,&#8221; eight pages including a black and white picture that begins with /v/ at the top of each page and a sentence under the picture. These eight pages include the sentence &#8220;We have a&#8230;&#8221; (then the word to match picture is shown, such as &#8220;We have a van&#8221;). The 8 pictures included are vacuum, vegetables, vest, volcano, van, valentine, vine, and violin. At the end of the book, there are three optional activity pages (for differentiation) which may be included depending on the level of your students. You may want to include all or some of these for intervention pages or extension activity pages. One of these optional pages requires students to circle the uppercase and lowercase letter being used in the book, one requires students to write 5 uppercase and 5 lowercase letters, and the last one requires students to write 5 words beginning with the letter. For an extension activity, students may also add a second sentence to each page giving more details about the picture. Students can benefit from this reader by tracking print, identifying spaces between words, identifying particular letters of the alphabet, recognizing sounds (beginning, middle, and ending) in each word, and reading sight words and grade level text. For extension activities, students could add another sentence to each page giving details about each picture shown. The black and white pictures allow students the opportunity to color the pictures. This reader is great for guided reading groups, homework, or literacy center activities.</p>

<p>Addition and Subtraction word problems in this packet are correlated to common core standard MCCKOA 2. There are 36 pages. Eighteen pages include one addition word problem to solve and eighteen pages include one subtraction word problem to solve. Each page has a number line for students to use to solve the problem. An empty box is available for students to draw the matching picture for the word problem. There is also a ten frame box for students to use for counters or for drawing or coloring in the boxes and an equation box containing blanks, a plus/minus sign, and an equals sign.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Graphics and titles for the 18 addition word problems are almost identical to the graphics and titles for the 18 subtraction word problems. The word problem titles for the 18 addition word problems are (School, Dad Likes Coffee, Mark Likes to Eat, Paula the Penguin, Valentine&#8217;s Day, Snowballs, Pam the Penguin, Lenny the Leprechaun, Easter Eggs, Chickens, Baby Chicks, Harry the Hungry Worm, Grandma&#8217;s Pies, Taking Out the Trash, The Weather, Ice Cream Stand, Swimming Pool, and Popsicles).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The word problems titles for the 18 subtraction word problems are (School, Dad Eats Breakfast, What Ate All the Bread?, Pete the Penguin (x 2), Valentine&#8217;s Day, Snowballs, Lenny the Leprechaun, Easter Eggs, Chickens, Baby Chicks, Bad Apples, Grandma&#8217;s Pies, Taking Out the Trash, The Weather, Ice Cream Stand, Swimming Pool, and Popsicles).&nbsp;<br>

This addition word problems pack is great for DIFFERENTIATING for your student needs. Having a variety of strategies to solve the word problems is great when conducting math groups of different ability levels. Lower level students may only draw a picture while higher level students may solve the problem using all 4 strategies.&nbsp;</p>

In this five page Fishing Read and Write pack, students will read the one page fishing story and color the pictures. Then there are two pages with five sentences on each page about the story. Each sentence has a missing word. At the end of each sentence, there are two words for students to choose the correct missing word. Students will circle the word that correctly completes the sentence matching the story on the first page, and then write the correct word in the blank. The next page is a cut and paste sight word activity. Five sentences from the story are shown with a missing sight word. The five missing sight words are at the bottom of the page for students to cut and glue the correct word to complete the sentence. For both of the above activities, have students go back and find the sentence in the story and underline or highlight the sentence to show where they found the answer in the story. This will help them complete the activities with the correct answer by going back to the text which is what close reading is all about (digging deeper). The last page is a writing activity that asks two questions about fishing: 1. What do you like to do when you go fishing? 2. Where do you go fishing? This writing activity gives students the opportunity to make self to text connections.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
This is a great reading and comprehension check for guided reading, a mini lesson, a literacy center, or homework. It is also great for introducing close reading to look back into the story to find the answers.</p>

<p>Subtraction problems in this packet are correlated to common core standard MCCKOA 1. There are 9 pages. Each page contains 10 subtraction problems to solve (from 10). There are ten pictures/manipulatives at the bottom of each page for students to use to solve each subtraction problem. Students can color the manipulatives and use them to solve the problems. The 9 pages include dinosaur manipulatives.<br>

This activity is connected to the CCGPS ELACCKL2a. Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
This packet contains 6 pages. Each page has a simple story on it including five sentences about summer. The six stories are about the pool, popsicles, ice cream, sandcastles, my pail, and watermelon.<br>
<br>
The sentences are not written correctly. The first letter in each sentence has not been capitalized, and the ending punctuation is missing.<br>
<br>
Have your students rewrite each sentence correctly. Use capital letters correctly and add the correct ending punctuation. The sentences used contain frequently used sight words, decodable words that students should be able to read, and a few other common nouns that students see often and should be able to figure out using the small picture clue and/or title.<br>
<br>
These activities are great for morning work, literacy centers, and homework or for a quick mini lesson on including capital letters and ending punctuation.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
Students can read the story to a partner or to the teacher after correcting the sentences. Students could also add other details to the story using the back of their paper.&nbsp;<br>

Each of the five readers includes this description:<br>

This 13 page book includes a title page with bubble letters spelling the focused sight word for students to color, and then 10 pages include a black and white picture at the top of each page with a sentence using the focused sight word. There are two more pages asking students to draw a picture of their own and write a sentence of their own using the sight word, and then the final page asks students to trace the sight word three times and then write it three times on their own on the blank line. After this, there are 13 additional pages with the exact pictures and words as the first 13 pages. The only difference is that on this second copy of the book, the sight word being focused on is dotted on each page for students to trace.&nbsp;<br>

The pages of the book are not numbered giving the teacher flexibility of removing pages not desired when using in small guided reading groups for differentiation.&nbsp;<br>

This 13 page book is designed so that you can copy the book, cut in half, staple, and then it is ready for use.<br>

Students can benefit from this reader by tracking print, identifying spaces between words, identifying particular letters of the alphabet, recognizing sounds (beginning, middle, and ending) in each word, and reading sight words and grade level text. In this three page Ocean Read and Write pack, students will read the one page ocean story and color the pictures. Then there are two pages with five sentences on each page about the story. Each sentence has a missing word. At the end of each sentence, there are two words for students to choose from to find the correct missing word to tell about the story. Students will circle the word that correctly completes the sentence matching the story on the first page, and then write the correct word in the blank.&nbsp;<br>

This emergent reader, &#8220;Chicks&#8221; is connected to several CCGPS listed below. This pack includes two &#8220;Chicks&#8221; books. The books are designed so that you can copy the book, cut it in half, staple, and then it is ready for use.&nbsp;<br>

The first &quot;Chicks&quot; book has 22 pages including a title page &#8220;Chicks,&#8221; and then each of the remaining 21 pages contains black and white pictures at the top of each page and a sentence under the picture.&nbsp;<br>
Each sentence says &#8220;I see (number words zero-twenty) chicks.&#8221;&nbsp;<br>
The PREVIEW shows every page included.<br>

The second 22 page book includes a title page &#8220;Chicks,&#8221; and then each of the remaining 21 pages contains a blank ten frame at the top of each page and a sentence under the ten frames. This book is interactive with students being required to fill in the ten frames to match the number in the sentence. Pages are not numbered so that the teacher has flexibility to either staple the pages in number order 0-20 or to mix them up to check to see if students correctly recognize the number words. Students can either draw dots or color in the ten frames to show the correct number or use the included chick manipulatives to cut and paste the correct number of chicks onto the ten frames. Two pages of chicks manipulatives are included for you to copy as needed for the book.<br>

<p><strong>Addition word problems</strong> in this packet are correlated to common core standard MCCKOA 2. There are 21 pages. Each page contains one addition word problem to solve. There is a number line for students to use to solve the problem. An empty box is available for students to draw the matching picture for the word problem. <p>This activity is connected to CCGPS ELACCKW1: Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell a reader the topic or the name of the book they are &quot;writing&quot; about and state an opinion or preference about the topic or book. These opinion writing activities are great to put in a writing center for students to choose which pictures to use to give their opinions about. Most packs include two picture choices. Each page includes two picture choices for students to choose between to tell which they think is the best. Students love telling which item they like better. This activity encourages students to give the reason why they think their choice is better. Teachers can also use these writing activities as a whole class activity. Assigning these activities for a homework assignment can include parents in helping increase their child&#8217;s writing skills. However you choose to use these activities, I hope your students develop a love for writing.<br>

This emergent reader for the sight word &quot;for&quot; is connected to several CCGPS listed below. This 13 page book includes a title page with bubble letters spelling the focused sight word for students to color, then 10 pages include a black and white picture at the top of each page with a sentence using the focused sight word. There are two more pages asking students to draw a picture of their own and write a sentence of their own using the sight word, and then the final page asks students to trace the sight word three times and then write it three times on their own on the blank line. After this, there are 13 additional pages with the exact pictures and words as the first 13 pages. The only difference is that on this second copy of the book, the sight word being focused on is dotted on each page for students to trace.&nbsp;<br>

This fun acorn number book for numbers 0-20 is great for introducing/reviewing numbers and math or literacy centers. Every page includes acorns. There are four pages for every number 0-20 (exception: 3 pages for number 0) and a cover page totaling 84 pages.&nbsp;<br>

The four pages for each number include the following:<br>
<br>
1. number in corner, number word at top, ten frame with matching number of acorns, sentence - I have &quot;number&quot; acorns - and students will trace the number word in the sentence and the number word at the bottom of the page<br>
<br>
2. five sentences - each of the five sentences are the same with a different word to trace until the student is tracing the entire sentence in sentence five - I have &quot;number&quot; acorns, number word to trace at the bottom of page<br>

3. trace number word, trace number, circle focus number in the box&nbsp;<br>
<br>

This emergent reader for the sight word &quot;is&quot; is connected to several CCGPS listed below. This 13 page book includes a title page with bubble letters spelling the focused sight word for students to color, then 10 pages include a black and white picture at the top of each page with a sentence using the focused sight word. There are two more pages asking students to draw a picture of their own and write a sentence of their own using the sight word, and then the final page asks students to trace the sight word three times and then write it three times on their own on the blank line. After this, there are 13 additional pages with the exact pictures and words as the first 13 pages. The only difference is that on this second copy of the book, the sight word being focused on is dotted on each page for students to trace.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
The nouns boy and girl are used because many teachers post these nouns in their classroom at the beginning of the year during graphing, writing, and other activities. The students are probably familiar with them.<br>
<br>
The PREVIEW shows all pages included.<br>
<br>
The pages of the book are not numbered giving the teacher flexibility of removing pages not desired when using in small guided reading groups for differentiation.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
This 13 page book is designed so that you can copy the book, cut in half, staple, and then it is ready for use.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
Students can benefit from this reader by tracking print, identifying spaces between words, identifying particular letters of the alphabet, recognizing sounds (beginning, middle, and ending) in each word, and reading sight words and grade level text. For extension activities, students could add another sentence to each page giving details about each picture shown. The black and white pictures allow students the opportunity to color the pictures. This reader is great for guided reading groups, homework, or literacy center activities.&nbsp;<br>

***This is the seventh of 100 emergent readers for popular sight words (high frequency words) in the works. The readers will build on the words focused on in the previous readers as much as possible.&nbsp;<br>

<p>This activity is connected to the CCGPS ELACCKL2a. Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I. This packet contains five pages. Each page has a simple story on it containing five sentences. The sentences are not written correctly. The first letter in each sentence is not capital and the ending punctuation is missing. Have your students rewrite each sentence correctly. Begin each sentence with a capital letter and add the correct ending punctuation. The sentences used contain frequently used sight words and other decodable words that students should be able to read. <p>This activity is connected to the CCGPS ELACCKL2a. Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I. This packet contains five pages. Each page has a simple story on it containing five sentences. The sentences are not written correctly. The first letter in each sentence is not capital and the ending punctuation is missing. Have your students rewrite each sentence correctly. Begin each sentence with a capital letter and add the correct ending punctuation. The sentences used contain frequently used sight words, decodable words that students should be able to read, and a few other common nouns that students see often.
