I bought my truck had a bad motor than I bought another used one dead too. So I trade some 17″ rims from my neon at the time for a solid sbc block, got it machined and rebuilt it. I had never completely rebuilt a motor but I would give it try. So for a year or so I read everything I could and asked a lot of questions. Than this spring guess what was done? The truck!!!! I had some trouble timing it at first/180 out found TDC whoa it worked it’s alive lol. I was so proud I did it all by my self. I felt it was a rewarding project.

So I had a 1983 Toyota pickup that was totaled in a head on collision. Being my second accident and second head on collision I have been in pain ever since due with neck and back injuries and also getting laid off from work. I wouldn’t be able to keep the truck even though it was past down from my dad to me. He was the original owner since he bought it brand new when it came out in 1982. So being sad about all the work I had to rebuild it because it sat in our drive way for 12 years since it got stolen in front of our house and stripped out from all the custom work my dad put into it. He was depressed and just let it sit there for 12 years, so when I turned 18 I got a job and all my money went into this truck to fix it up with a 2″ body lift KC lights 31″ BFG km2s that i havn’t installed yet but were destroyed in the accident. So sold the back 2 for money but they gave me a settlement for my truck being it wasn’t my fault I was able to go out and buy a 1989 Toyota pickup hilux extra cab. Once I saw it I fell in love and it reminded me of my 83 pickup, it was red just like my other truck but this one had luxury unlike my old truck. It had cold A/C, a radio fuel injection v6 to my old carb 4cyl also working radio and extra seating for friends power steering working interior lights and working speedometer and fuel gauge. Since I’ve been out of work for almost a year and a half now I haven’t been able to do some of the upgrades I’ve wanted to do on my 83 which I still wanna do now with my 89 Toyota but what I have done so have is put on a roll bar with 2 KC Daylighters 31″ Goodyear A/T brand new distributor starter and alternator due to the 1st time going 4wheeling I blew out all those and installed them myself also just put in a 1500 Rockford fosgate amplifier with a R2D4-10 10″ Prime R2 4-Ohm Dvc Rockford Subwoofer with a XD1222 Dual Deck. My new projects are installing but still looking for a cb radio and to get a 6″ lift kit installed with 31″ super swampers with a warn front and rear bumper with a warn winch haven’t decided which one yet also I blew out my cv boots and that’s my newest project is to install new cv boots.
