Next we travel to Grand Island, NE for the Husker Harvest Days.  I know we will once again have a great time and meet a lot of new and interesting people while showcasing the FarmLogic product.  When we get a moment to catch our breath we will post some of the more interesting stories we have collected during our first string of farm shows.  I anticipate Brandon will have some great posts detailing his adventures in Boone and Grand Island!!  Until then, turn it off, wait thirty minutes and restart (inside joke in regards to my tech support to my wife during the trip to Boone).

So, this blogging stuff is a great diversion for all of us.  When our web design guy, Steven Sanders, came up with the concept of TeamRugged we all thought it was great.  Now, we’ll blog on this site regularly about the things we like to do - hopefully things you like to talk about as well.

For me, I’m a sports guy - heavy into baseball and football.  Baseball on the pro level and football on the college level.  Our whole office is basically St. Louis Cardinals nuts.  Go Albert, go Cards!  But, our office staff is very diverse with opinions and thoughts on everything from farming to old cars to backpacking to this new crazy game we’ve discovered - cornhole.

     “Other than the birth of my kids, that there Cornzizzle for the winner is the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me,” Watters said after the feat.  “It took us plum near a whole nother game to get our heads back in the contest!”

     After the tightly fought first contest, the Warriors regrouped and thumped B&G in Game 2 by a 21-7 score to set up the rubber contest.

     In the deciding match, the two talented teams traded punches and were deadlocked at 15 before B&G pulled away for the win.

     “My unfortunate incident and run-in with the US Forest Department in Wyoming may have had a bit of impact on my performance today,” said Kevin Knotts.  “I just wasn’t myself.  And, I was used to the cooler climate after a week out west.   I think that we’ll get the title back next week once I’m acclimated to the heat again,” he added.

     Knotts’ teammate, Tab Brockman, left immediately after the games and was uncharacteristically unavailable for comment.

     “You know, I’ve been told that all I do is chase trophies at The Big Apple,” said Brandon “Gus” Cavins.  “But the TapLogic traveling trophy is by far the prettiest thing I’ve ever got at the Apple,” he said.

     This win by Black&Gus was the first tally over the Rainbow Warriors since sanctioned league play was instituted for TapLogic in May.

     In a formality, the Warriors dispatched the Bad News Bears in the seeding game that followed the chamionship contest.  The straight set scores were 21-10 and 24-3.

     “The Bears have definitely improved their game since week 1,” Watters observed.  “We wanted to help them conserve on their gas money for next week so we put them out early,” Watters added.

(Kevin wasn’t really arrested.  This story was made up.  And no geysers were hurt in the process.)

"But is was a cornzizzle," was the reply of Kevin Knotts upon his arrest in Wyoming.

     Kevin Knotts, one of the ACO’s emerging stars in West Kentucky, was arrested this afternoon for “destruction of a national treasurer” after tossing four bean bags into the Old Faithful Geyser during a family outing at Yellowstone National Park.  The bean bags immediately stopped up the immensely popular geyser and sent thousands of visitors to the park ranger stations identifying Knotts as the culprit.

     When park officials asked Knotts what he was thinking throwing bags into the famed geyser,  he responded  “I saw a hole over there and had to throw a bag in it”.  Knotts later commented:  “Where I come from, you don’t get arrested for nothing if a cornzizzle is involved”.

     Upon reaching Knotts’ teammate, Tab Brockman, he stated:  “If the man threw a cornzizzle, he should be let go.  In fact, he should receive even more points in the power ratings.  That’s quite the accomplishment.  Especially in altitude.  That’s my man!”

     Bail was posted at $25 and he was released on his own recognizance.  His court date in WY is yet to be determined.  The impact of his arrest and status in ACO competition will be determined by league officials when he returns to Kentucky.

     “Those youngsters need to practice a bit more before they move up to the big boys,” were the words of Brandon “Gus” Cavins.  “Not bad for first-timers, but they just need to work on their game before they come back.”

     According to Derek “Black” Watters, the Bad News Bears should consider entering the Mixed Doubles division and work their way up.  “Their performance reminded me of something out of Blades of Glory,” he said.

     With the win, B&G retains the rights as top-ranked challengers to the reigning Rainbow Warriors tandem of Kevin Knotts and Tab Brockman.  Knotts will be on vacation next week in the western US and Brockman is on rehab from a doctor’s visit today.   So the Bows will be out of action and retain their title for at least one more week.

     “I’m looking forward to some fresh air out west,” Knotts said.  “Who knows, I might get a chance to get in a couple of rounds.  I’m told everything out west is bigger.  Guess I’ll get to see firsthand.”

     It was a seesaw affair that so big swings throughout two of the three matches.  The Bows were within one point of “skunking” B&G in Game 1 before the big rally.  In Game 3, B&G held a 9-0 lead before the Bows made their rally to retain the coveted traveling office trophies.

     TapLogic’s Steven Sanders, an impartial onlooker and scorechecker, said he was amazed by the competitiveness of the two teams.

     “Knotts and Brockman kept their cool and looked quite comfortable in their signature luau shirts.  Black & Gus went to a new Larry-the-Cable-Guy motif that was effective, but just not quite enough,” Stevens observed.  “It was lots of fun – quite the exhibition of Cornhole talent.”

     “I can’t believe that we lost again to those flaming luau turkeys,” said Cavins, the most experienced player in the TapLogic League.  “I’m just waiting to get them under the lights for a night game that involves adult beverages.  Then we’ll see who’s the best,” he said.  “I’ll get that beautiful trophy yet.”

     With the win, the Hawaiian Rainbows are now 3-0 in TapLogic League play.  The ceremonial office hardware has already been exchanged.
