The 2017 Canada Summer Games will be in Manitoba and although these Games are 5 years away the Canada Games Council has announced participating sports as follows:

Volleyball - Indoor (Female)

Cycling - Road
Beach Volleyball (Female)
Beach Volleyball (Male)

PLUS
Taekwondo OR Sailing *

*The Games will be in Manitoba however the community has not yet been named. Bidding Communities will have a choice between Taekwondo and Sailing.

Erica Noonan's bronze this afternoon is not the first medal she's seen.

Hailing from Stephenville and currently a 2nd year MUN student swimming with the MUN swim team, Erica is a three-time 2009 Canada Games silver medalist. She won silver for women's SWAD (swimmer with a disability) in the 100-metre breaststroke, the 100-metre butterfly and the 200-metre individual medley.

Noonan was Team Newfoundland and Labrador's flagbearer for the closing ceremonies at the Canada Summer Games in PEI last August and was also selected to represent Newfoundland and Labrador as the province's official torchbearer during the 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay in Ottawa.
