Team One Donates to the American Cancer Society

Team One Credit Union held its Annual Donald Pilon Commemorative Golf Outing benefiting the American Cancer Society on Friday, July 16^th. This year, golfers and volunteers at the event helped Team One donate over $2,000 to the American Cancer Society.

According to Jocelyn Hall from the American Cancer Society, the money raised from this year’s golf outing will enable the organization to:

Pair 20 breast cancer patients with a survivor trained by the American Cancer Society who can provide emotional support and answer questions while that patient is undergoing treatment.
Offer 664 hours of toll-free access to the National Cancer Information Center, a 24-hour service available to anyone seeking answers and help on cancer treatment options and local cancer resources.
Provide 51 cancer patients with eight round trips to their treatments.
Allow two patients and their families to stay for 10 days at the Hope Lodge while the patient is undergoing treatment.
Give 10 women the opportunity to be a part of the ‘Look Good...Feel Better’ program.
Supply researchers with 6,500 test tubes for research involving promising anticancer medications and the study of tumor growth.

Team One is pleased to have been able to donate over $8,000 over the last four years from its annual golf outing to further the American Cancer Society’s quest to cure cancer.

Team One Credit Union’s Walk MS Team Raises $15,000!

Team One Credit Union employees participated in the Multiple Sclerosis Society Walk MS event in Frankenmuth last month. Out team, comprised of employees, family and friends, volunteered or walked raising approximately $15,000 towards the fight against MS! In all, Walk MS in Frankenmuth has raised over $140,000 so far this year! The funds raised will go toward helping improve the lives of people with MS and most importantly will fund research projects to find a cure.

The MS Society is just one of the great causes that Team One’s Community Impact Team supports throughout the year.

Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2010

When the call went out for volunteers for Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2010, we answered with enthusiasm. We’ve been involved with Habitat on several projects in recent years and we were excited to be able to help out during the Women Build event. Outfitted with tool belts and hammers, we helped lay flooring, paint walls and install vinyl siding to the house located at 1602 S. Harrison in Saginaw.

The mission of the Women Build program is to recruit, educate and nurture women to help build-and advocate for-simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities.

Habitat for Humanity is one of the many organizations that Team One’s Community Impact Team volunteers for in the communities that they serve.

Suspicious CU@Home login - "TDSS rootkit"

In an effort to keep our online services convenient and safe for our Members, we want to make you aware of a potential security issue regarding your PC access to CU@Home.

Recently, a few Members have reported a pop-up message prompting them to enter their credit card information for verification because CU@Home failed to authorize their PC for login. This is a “phishing” attempt most likely caused by a virus and/or malware. In particular, through our research, it may very possibly be a rootkit known as “TDSS rootkit.”

A rootkit is like a virus that consists of one or more programs designed to hide the fact that a PC has been compromised. It can’t always be readily detected or removed by standard anti-virus software and typically requires special removal tools.

If you are receiving suspicious pop-up messages when logging into CU@Home, or any other secure websites, that ask you for personal information such as your credit card number, please do not provide it. If you have suspicions regarding the log-in process, please contact us.

Team One strongly recommends having your PC checked routinely by professionals for possible virus infection or system compromise. We also recommend that you change your CU@Home PIN and password as a precaution should you encounter issues with your PC being infected or compromised.

We want to once again remind our Members to never give out your personal account information over the phone or via email /website. They're asking for your account number and your checking account routing number. The imposter could possibly have your full name and address also.
