TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES many stories i have read about this subject. About a piece of material - which keeps a soul bound to "Earth" - or to people. Yet true love lasts forever - this is so sure and fact. Watch the movie Ghost with Woopie Goldberg - Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze - there you see - our loved ones protect us even when they have "gone". Sometimes i have the feeling my grandma speaks to me. Okay, so I'm not used to ranting to people about my problems, and I always like to be the one to listen and give advice. But since this thing is kind of anonymous, why not? To you, dear reader, this may seem like a stupid meaningless crush and not worth my obsessing. Unfortunately, it means alot to me. So this is how it all started... So we were in the same class last year, and for some reason, our teachers made us sit next to each other in almost every class. He turned out to be really sweet, funny, and a bit clumsy at times which I found really entertaining. The more I think about it, the more I realize he liked me... at least, that's what it looks like in my head (i will NOT start telling you about the incidents that made me think this, because I won't be able to stop!) ... Unfortunately, I didn't realize this, and that I was falling for him until half the year had passed. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, as he got to know me as the REAL me, if you know what I mean. I wasn't trying to impress him, so it made me feel awesome that he liked me for who I was. We'd talk all the time, and I told him anything that came to mind, and he'd always listen like it's the most interesting thing he's ever heard, even though it might just be the lamest thing ever... sounds like heaven, right? That's what I thought. I really expected our friendship to last, but it didn't... I'm finding it hard to explain the next bit. So, this year (the school year that just ended) he wasn't in any of my classes, so we sort of just act like we don't know each other. Crazy, right? yeah, I know... This is where my question comes in... does he still like me? Does he even remember how close we were? Thing is, everytime I decide that I need to move on, I catch him looking at me from the corner of his eye, and acts kinda akward. Plus, he kinda looks jealous when I talk to my guy friend (who is a total geek!) So... help! I'm so confused! and please don't tell me to move on, because I really believe we have something special...

After 12 years cleaning care homes and private houses, Tereza Tosbell has a keen eye for a dirty room.

But the last place she expected to need her skills was in hospital - where she was a patient.

The sick 48-year-old was so disgusted at the conditions after three days on a 'filthy' ward that she grabbed the antibacterial fluid dispenser at the end of her bed and some hand towels from the bathroom.

She set about cleaning her four-bed ward, even going down on hands and knees to sanitise the floor as she dragged her drip trolley behind her.

The divorced mother-of-one said during her four-day stay there was just one brief visit from a cleaner who left dusty curtains, dirty bedframes and a messy floor.

'The nurses and other staff saw what I was doing but just left me to get on with it.'

The Patients' Association yesterday said what Miss Tosbell had experienced was 'nothing unusual'.

Its director Katherine Murphy said: 'Where there should be round-the-clock cleaners there will be one who is going round three or four wards and can only skim the surface.'

A Colchester Hospital University NHS spokesman said: 'In the annual health check ratings for 2007-2008 we scored maximum marks for safety and cleanliness and we have also been praised for our very low levels of infections such as C. difficile and MRSA.'

It was a peculiar day, or, perhaps a strange night. Strong gale was blowing with or, without rains. All the doors were open. But, I could not pass through them. I can not exactly remember whether I wanted to enter into the palace or come out of it. I was roaming around aimlessly. Suddenly, I found a lamp coming towards me through the long corridor. When it came nearer, I found no one holding the lamp. Queer enough, the lamp was lit, but it did not illuminate anything surrounding it. All on a sudden, it asked me,

“Are you looking for the door? Then come with me. I’ll tell you a story.”

I could not ignore it and started following it mesmerized.

“A king lived in this palace thousands of years ago”– it started. “He had seven hundred queens. There were 1400 doors and 2800 windows in the palace for them. But, there was only one door through which one could come out of the palace and one window through which one could see outside. The king proclaimed that anyone who could find out the door would be emancipated. He gave them an oblique hint saying ‘look for it throughout the day and night.’ Ironically, all the queens were drowned in luxury of life, abundantly supplied in the palace. They were forgetful about their emancipation and engaged in earthly pleasures. Sometimes, when they had some leisure time, they casually roamed around the palace in daytime to find out the door without any success.”

We were travelling through the palace while the lamp was telling me the story. It stopped for some time and then started again,

“But, there was only one queen who did not allow her to be swayed away by the earthly pleasures. She was young, tender, soft–spoken and exquisitely beautiful. She had a pre-marital love affair which she could not forget and she was living only for him. She searched for the door throughout the day and night. One night when she was passing through the corridor, she came across with a white dove like this.”

Saying this, the lamp pointed out to something and to my utter surprise, I noticed a dove sitting on a perch. It was dazzling white and so, it could be seen even in that darkness. The dove ushered us into a room where there were four windows. He took us to one of the windows wherefrom the outside of the palace could be seen. The lamp said,

“This is the window through which you can see the outside and the dove showed this window to the young queen.”

I looked through the window and found that the full moon was showering glittering flakes of soft light on the green valley which was flooded with moonlight. The distant hills were dancing with the tunes of the river flowing across the valley. It was ethereal to make me spellbound.

The lamp broke the silence and ordered me to follow him. We passed through different doors, rooms and corridors. It started again,

“But the door cannot be found unless you have light with you. She was sincere and honest and performed an arduous job to find out the way. That night, she got the light.”

I found myself standing near a door through which I could see the valley.

that was actually what i wrote to Tanuj: the door to freedom is in the biggest and at the same time the smallest it is inside of us...

Palin to step down, not seeking re-election

(CNN) — Gov. Sarah Palin announced Friday that she will step down as Alaska's chief executive by the end of the month. She will not seek election to a second gubernatorial term in 2010.

Palin, a Republican, was elected governor in 2006. She was tapped as Arizona Sen. John McCain's vice presidential running mate last year.

The report just aired on CNN said she will be stepping down at the end of July. I will keep my eyes open for more information.

Palin Quits, Transfers Power to Lt. Governor

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin shocked the political word Friday by announcing that she will step down at the end of the month and transfer power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.

Palin made the announcement from her home in Wasilla, flanked by her husband, Todd, and family and state commissioners.

Palin's decision now allows her to avoid the difficult task of running for president while serving as governor.

Palin gained national prominence when GOP presidential candidate John McCain picked her as his running mate last year. But her approval ratings in the state have skidded in recent months.

Palin has been dogged in recent months by ethics inquiries. Her office last month announced the 15th dismissal of an ethics complaint against her or one of her staff.

Palin defeated incumbent Gov. Murkowski in a primary in 2006.
