Facebook COO (Chief Operating Officer) Sheryl Sandberg would have remained another top paid executive, if she hadn't wrote a book on the struggles, aspirations of career women and advises them to "lean in" to reach their potential.. The book titled Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead , which came out this March, became an instant bestseller. Although it received mixed reviews. The admirers praised the book for articulating a new modern feminist vision; while the critics called the book coming from a person, who speaks from her lofty position, completely out of touch with the gruelling personal cost of combining career and family.

Two months after the book release, Sheryl Sandberg, who got $26.2 million in salary, bonus and shares last year from the US social networking giant Facebook, still holds the ground and says: It's OK for Women to cry at work.

Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, 43, said in a recent interview to an Indian media house, that it's ok for women to cry at work, share emotions and be honest about their femininity. She herself has cried at work.

Elaborating more on why it's ok for a a woman to show her emotional side at work, Sandberg, said that women are not one type of person Monday through Friday. They are not the same person during the workdays the weekend nights. That's why showing emotions at work is never a disadvantage for women.

Speaking of Disadvantage:

Sandberg has put an important fact here. Actually from the look of the things, Being emotional at work is never a disadvantage for a woman; unless she becomes an always crying drama queen. Actually timely and strategic emotional burst at work place helps a woman. This can be understood this way: Evolution-wise men are programmed to respond favorably to a baby's cry. Women who have a similar baby like voice pitch, when cries makes a man become protective towards her. Just as he is protective of an infant. This is evolution's way of compelling a man provide food and protection to the baby and female partner. Hence when a woman colleague shows distress emotions at work place; she gets a favorable response from the male colleagues. Over time it develops into bonding, which can be used by the woman in getting professional support, team building and further her career.

Showing emotions is not an advantage for men because males are schooled not to cry in public and a man who shows weak emotions at work hurts his/her career progression. That apart, even where the boss is a woman, man is expected to be in control; as evolution-wise a woman is not programmed to respond favorably to a man's emotions.

For these reasons, women are more prone than men to cry at work. And Sandberg's book rightly points to these subtle reasonings.

For a career woman, following the advice rendered in Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg's book is always better than listening to a feminist, who wants a career woman to behave like a man, that's remaining always in control.

And Sandberg, who is married with two young children, advises this:

The messages of believing in yourself and sitting at the table, getting compensated fairly, those can happen at any point in your career. Don't overlook gender-related issues in the workplace. If a woman is a complex person, be that way. If the work place overlooks the rights of a woman, demand those. Demand everything you need in terms of pursuing careers and raising families (if you're too tired too much to make the dinner; ask for the husband's help).

A career woman will need to do this, as men never face such questions because society assumes they can have both professions and children, she added.

A huge percentage of women globally have both children and work full-time, but to do so they must get the "support they need at the workplace and at home," Sandberg said.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, is Facebook's number two, and was named in Time magazine's 2013 list as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Foxconn Pegatronn January-April 2013 Numbers Comparison

The world is comparing the numbers of Foxconn and Pegatron for a reason. Pegatron, a Taiwan based LCD manufacturer, just like Foxconn; is gaining the Apple orders which Foxconn is losing. The two companies are distant apart in terms of revenue numbers; but the comparison is necessary as it tells how Foxconn feels about itself now. Foxconn is seen as the one behind Apple's iPhone and iPad success. Apple managed to sell the iconic devices at that price only because Foxconn was the manufacturer. That said, Foxconn now wants to build its own brand, rather than be seen as some manufacturer for Apple. In this direction, Foxconn bought a 10 percent share in Sharp Corp. Although Sharp Corp is under heavy loss, Foxconn's move is in line with its assertive plans, as Sharp's LCD technology still is among the best in the world. May be Foxconn moving out of Apple's shadow may prove good for Foxconn; the same way it proved good for another manufacturer for Apple - the Samsung.

Foxconn, world's leading manufacturer of computer components and systems, reported that Foxconn saw April consolidated revenues of NT$291.759 billion (US$9.82 billion) increasing on month by 12.05%, while Pegatron Technology reported revenues of NT$65.404 billion up 1.27%, according to the companies.

The sequential growth in April consolidated revenues was mainly due to significant growth in Foxconn's consumer electronics device shipments and Foxconn International Holdings', Foxconn's subsidiary handset ODM, shipments of smartphones, local market analysts indicated.

However, Foxconn's April consolidated revenues decreased on year by 5.08% and Pegatron's by 2.77%.

Foxconn brought in consolidated revenues of NT$1.101 trillion for January-April, dropping on year by 15.89%, while Pegatron's January-April consolidated revenues of NT$286.721 billion grew 20%.

Here it's to be noted that, the Conscious Brain or the logical/practical brain is not an Evil. It's there to logically weigh in the plans we make.It does this by acting on the data stored in our sub-conscious. The aim here is to prevent us from burning our fingers by acting on any ill advise or plan. For instance, if you failed in your every business project in the past; and now plan to mortgage your house for the next project, then the questions raised by Conscious Brain about the sanity of the plan, is understandable.

The researchers have launched a new public website, hedonometer.org, that shows daily global mood swings as expressed via Twitter.

As said above, the study looked at the negative words used by English-language users' posts. The negative words include "sad," "victims" and "tragedy," etc. The researchers found that since 2008, the most negative words were encountered on the day of the Boston Marathan Bombings. This also meant, on the day, there was a decline in positive phrases, such as "hahaha" .

The volume of Data Looked at:

The researchers use Twitter's Gardenhose feed to create their "hedonometer", which roughly translates to "happiness meter." This feed is a random sample of about 50 million tweets per day, which represents about a tenth of the messages posted on the site.

An important Observation:

The researchers behind the study, claim that although the Twitter data adjudged the Boston marathaon bombings as the saddest day on Twitter in 5 years, with a happiness score of 5.88 on a scale of 1 to 9; but it may not be the real saddest day, if other variables are taken into account.

These other variables, which the researchers see ever present, with a few major exceptions, are:

1) People are sadder on Mondays and happier on weekends

2) People are Happy on holidays, when they're off of work and with family.

3) Unhappy days, though, happen in response to unexpected events.

4) People respond to negative unexpected events more actively in a negative manner than reacting to happy events in a happy manner.

If these other factors are applied then, the saddest day of them all may be Dec. 14, 2012, the date of the mass shooting at a Newtown, Connecticut, Elementary School.

The reports were fueled by recent comments made by A-list venture capitalist John Doerr and some Tweets which some believe came through some Google Glass App for Twitter. Yes, this is some joke or gravity-less act (reminds one of extensive April Fool jokes Google rolls out every year). In short, Google Glass is being seen as having some potential.

That said, GlassTweet may be simple at present; but with time the world will demand video, audio and text tweets as well. Wearable Computer like Google Glass is a futuristic idea, but it has to surmount great challenges as human blinks and emotions most of the times are inaccurate.

Passwords with a lot of special characters are difficult to memorize for humans; but easy to crack for machines. Hence the right way to choose a password is to use a word phrase separated by spaces, which is so personal that you can never forget. Such passwords are difficult to get hacked.

3) Be Attentive while granting access to Third Part Applications -- Whenever any their party application tells you to authenticate, suing your Twitter username and password, make sure the authorization page is Twitter's (not some other domain, An example of such an authorization page is Here).
