How to do WordPress SEO like a pro! I decided to write this post on Wordpress SEO after I helped a client on Fiverr setup his WordPress site and taught him how to optimize his website for search engines.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is not really a big deal as tons of tools and web utilities are now available some being free while some are not. Wordpress is now becoming a hot favorite for anyone who wants to start a blog. Though, Wordpress's use is not only limited to only blogs. With new plugins for WordPress, it has been made possible to build a discussion forum or an e-commerce store.

In this post lets focus on the Wordpress SEO plugins. I researched quite a bit about what plugin to use for my client's WP blog. After looking around a few plugins, I finally narrowed down on Wordpress SEO by Yoast.

"WordPress SEO is a complete WordPress SEO plugin that exists today for WordPress.org users. It incorporates everything from a snippet preview and page analysis functionality that helps you optimize your pages content, images titles, meta descriptions and more to XML sitemaps, and loads of optimization options in between."

It provides the following important features for WP:
1. Post titles and meta descriptions
2. XML Sitemaps

Below I have attached the screenshots how exactly you can perform the SEO for your Wordpress blog:

1) Once you install the plugin, a column for SEO will show up beside your posts. Please have a look at the images.

2) As you see in the below picture, there is a snippet preview where you can see how your website will turn up in the search results provided correct keyword and meta description is used.

Type in the Focus keywords and it will show you if it is present in the content, page URL, article heading, and meta description.

When you type the focus keywords wait after typing each word and a list will open which shows what focus keywords others have used. So it is better to try your own combination which has not been used before.

3) SEO tick will be shown in different colors:
Green -> Good
Yellow -> OK
Red -> Poor

This is the thrid post in the "Earn more with Google Adsense series". Till now, we have discussed about the types of ads, how many ads can be placed on your webpage and what are the best Ad placement techniques for your blog or websites.

Now lets see what can we do to generate more Revenue from your Ads.

It is all a matter of good content I would say... Of course as a blogger you might always be on a look out for ways to improve your blog traffic and you yourself might be following certain blogs to get inspiration on what your next post will be.

Things you should take care of :

Quality Content : This depends on your niche, meaning , what your blog offers or what your blog is about . It is always good to have a certain style and topic on which you blog. In my case, this is a tech blog. But the problem here for me is that Technology is a very broad topic. I post a wide variety of things on different topics few might say it is just random. Yes and I agree to it . Having a niche like posting only about apps , phones, travel , food actually helps you gain more readership. Automatically, you will have recurring users to your website or blog. This can help you to earn some money from Affiliate programming (More on this later some day. Subscribe if you don't wish to miss this out)

Keywords : One of the most important things about getting a position in the top search results on Google is to use the right keywords. Selecting the right words in your posts makes it more easy show the corrects ads on your blog. This is very important in case of ranking and simultaneously indexing. So the next time when a user performs a google search about your niche it increases you chances to improve the your rankings in the search results.

Backlinks : Backlinks are the links that link back to your website/blog. To have great and quality backlinks from good websites improves your Page Rank. The Page Rank has a scale of 0 to 10. Higher PageRank -> Better position in search -> More Traffic to your blog -> Higher Bid from advertisers for your ads -> More Money ! Sound's Simple?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) : If you take care of the above 3 points then you have already taken care of most of the things important for search engine optimization.

Okay so now once you have read the above post I guess we are now ready to discuss about the ads placement on your web page.

There's a restriction on the number of ads you can place on a single web page. Obviously these restrictions are put by Google in order to ensure quality of the webpage and to avoid unnecessary spamming.

How many ads can you use?

3 Display/Text Ad units : If you look at this blog you can see I use in all 3 banner ads One above the title of the post , one in the sidebar and one inside the post! The most important thing to improve you earning is to place at least 1 Ad somewhere in between your posts. What happens here is while your users are reading the posts they will actually look at the ad as it is between the text they are reading. Naturally, it is more likely if the ad is relevant it might get clicked.

3 Link units : Most bloggers don't know that in addition to the above three ads you can use other 3 link units on the same page. It adds greatly to your earnings if the keywords that show up are relevant.

Custom Search Engine Ads : This is ads do add up to your earnings but I am a bit skeptical about it as users generally don't use the search on relatively small blogs. This is mainly important for people who have a large active readership o their blog/website.

Thus, in addition to the custom search engine ads you can add a total of 6 Google Adsense ads on a single webpage or each page of your website. Sound's cool ?

Its been quite a long time since I started using Google Adsense on my Blog. I would like to share with you my experiene and how you can use Google Adsense Ads more efficiently. In this "Google Adsense 101" series you will find the useful tips and tricks using which you can optimize your Google Adsense earnings.

I will cover almost all the things you need to take care to increase your CPC ( Cost Per Click) for Ads.
I will break this into multiple posts and will try to post new articles every alternate day. ( Can't promise :P )

Lets get started... The first thing you will need to do is decide what type of ads to use?

There are three types of ads :

Display / Text Ads
Link Units
Ads using Custom Search

Lets Cover each one of them :

Display / Text Ads : Display ads are nothing but Image ads or Banners which is most probably the most common an all the sites. May be you must be seeing one right now in this post too or in the right sidebar of this blog and above this posts heading. You should select Display / Text while creating the ad unit as it gives more fill rate. So whenever one type of ad is not available the other type of ad maybe Text takes its place. Doing this makes sure that your ad unit will show some or the other ad no matter what. Hence you do not miss out on even a single click on your ads.

Link Units : Link Units are ones which show only a set of 4-5 keywords which are basically ad link and when clicked you earn from them just like the below one. Don't go by their size ,even though these tiny units are not so visible but they sometimes generate more revenue sometimes then the image ads. ( I am not lying! Try it out)

Custom Search Ads : Monetize search results in your site, mobile site or mobile application just like Google. This for pro-bloggers. We will get back to this in the later posts of this series.

My Machine Learning Journey [Part 1]

Recently , I having been reading a lot on Data Science and Big Data and as i am currently a CS undergrad student it quite caught my attention . I read a lot about it on the internet , followed questions on Quora like "How to become a Data Scientist" and all , and then searching for courses to pursue masters in Data Science probably in the U.S , though I wasn't quite satisfied with the data i found .

Now , It was during my exams i found an online course on Intro to Data Science on Coursera , just another thing i found while searching stuff on how to dive into the data science thing ...

So on that site click on "preview lectures" and watch the first 2 videos , named :

After I watched these two videos , i really came to know what actually it is and what does a Data Science mean after all... For the first time i felt that this is something i would like to pursue (not really until i found what machine learning is.)

So i didn't really watch the videos further on that topic but simply saw the titles of the videos and simply googled those things ... Well .. what i find is Data Science is just another fancy term creating a Hype . It is an application of Machine Learning . Machine learning is the science of getting computers to act without being explicitly programmed. Wow! Sounds cool...

Data science is about predicting or finding patterns from the large data sets provided by the companies and organizations to people called Data scientist or Analysts who find useful information from that data by creating models and running algorithms on that data .

Well , now my interest is more inclined towards Machine Learning . I have started taking a course online on Machine learning by Andrew Ng (Probably the master in the field and founder of Coursera).

The course involves quite a lot of mathematics but Andrew Ng in his videos has really tried to cut down on mathematics and make it easier for the people not having a background in calculus.

My point here is if you really want to get into the Data Science thing I strongly suggest to first learn Machine Learning which is the foundation and i must say i have been doing the same .

This doesn't end here ...

I am still in the learning stage and i wish i will keep updating my progress and guide others via my experiences .

I would just say this : "Its a Great Buy ! The HD screen is just too good and your 1080p movies look Awesome. Though I am not a fan of its Secondary camera because the picture is too grainy and noisy but that's the only thing I didn't like about it . Otherwise, the tablet's really convenient to hold in the hand whether you are gaming or reading . High Graphic Games like Real Racing 3 and apps like Flipboard just makes you want to use them more and more as the fonts , even the smallest readable size is Super SHARP ! No Lag at all in any case till now . All this just makes it one of the Best Tablets in the Market . "

If you are looking for quick earning methods from the blog , you should trying the following two options :

1) Affiliate Links

Although affiliate marketing sometimes gets a bad rap, it’s a straightforward way to make money, and it creates a win-win situation for you, your reader, and the product creator.

Many digital products (like ebooks, software and membership sites) offer an affiliate program, where you can sign up to earn commission on any sales you generate.
Generally you get a cut ranging from 10% - 50% .

2) Gigs and Other Services

Well , this is something new . Hopefully ,you have a few skills related to your niche. For instance , you are an established blogger and simply know the procedure on setting things up like installing and tweaking themes , plugins and so on. You could offer blog setup to people who aren’t so techy minded.

Don’t underestimate yourself here. Skills that may seem second-nature to you could be very valuable to someone else

Tip: Offer your services for free to a few selected people, and get them to give you feedback so you can improve. Ask them for a testimonial that you can include on your website: this will be a big help in persuading potential customers that you’re reputable.

I haven't mentioned one of the most popular options out there – running adverts on your site. Many new bloggers want to monetize using ads – but it’s rarely a good way to make money.

(In My case , it took me nearly 10 months to get my first 100$ from Google AdSense)

As far as the sound goes, it was very difficult to find the perfect tune that is used in levels but i managed to find the appropriate one. Nokia to hold Sept. 26-27 event, likely to announce first Windows tablet and phablet.

Nokia has reportedly scheduled a press event in New York City on Sept. 26 -27. This could be when the company officially announces its first Windows 8 tablet and its rumored Lumia phablet.

WP Central, a website that solely focuses on Windows Phone, reports that the handset giant may host an event on September 26-27. However, details regarding the event are still uncertain, whether it's a public press event or an internal meet. The site has also revealed a screenshot which appears to be a registration screen for the event.

Windows 8-powered Nokia tablet just popped up on a bechmarking site that revealed some of the tablet's specs, including the operating system. It's not clear if this means that Nokia will use the full version of Windows 8 to power the tablet, or use Windows RT as had been previously reported.This would certainly help Nokia's first Windows 8 tablet get some great publicity as it coincides with Microsoft's next version of Windows 8. The tablets are expected to look similar to its Lumia smartphones, complete with bright colors and rounded poly-carbonate body.

Details have been surprisingly scarce about a Nokia tablet, though we did see an earlier prototype, few weeks ago suggesting that the company is indeed experimenting with the platform. What is not clear is if the project continued going forward and what the current status is, though we have heard that AT&T is testing one and they would be the US launch partner.

New Nexus 7 2nd Generation Unboxing and Review

The new Nexus 7 is still manufactured by Asus for Google and the improvements in specifications are quite impressive. To start with, the 7-inch display now has a 1920x1200 pixel resolution giving it a pixel density of 323ppi. The device comes in 16GB and 32GB storage variants but sadly there is no storage expansion option available. The Nexus 7 now has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 1.2MP front facing camera for hangouts.

Under the hood, the Nexus 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor, coupled with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The battery capacity of the tablet hasn’t been revealed but Google claims 9 hours of HD video playback and 10 hours of web browsing on the tablet. The new Nexus 7 runs on the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean straight out-of-the-box. If you are one who enjoys gaming on your tablet, then you are in luck as the device supports OpenGL ES 3.0.
