Two of the phones that have proven to be the standouts are Samsung’s Galaxy SIII and Apple’s iPhone 4S. so which of them is better than the other? Read on and take your pick (although you are bound to find the other to obviously have the upper hand in all the comparisons than the other).

Screen Size

The difference is very apparent, putting the iPhone and the Galaxy side by side. iPhone boasts of retina display but comparing it with the GSIII’s high resolution display on a 4.8-inch screen makes Samsung’s flagship the winner. People today are more into phones with bigger screens and Apple is yet to grant these wishes.

Weight

The iPhone is smaller with less hardware inside it and yet it weighs more. The GSIII has outdone itself in coming up with a smartphone that is light despite the bigger number of hardware that it houses. Samsung’s phone also allows you to remove the battery, allowing you to use third party batteries for added power. Its removable storage through its SD card slot is also something that gives it the edge over Apple’s offering.

Camera

When megapixels is the aspect being talked about, there is no doubt that the iPhone 4s wins hands down. However, further looking at their features, you might find that Samsung has some amazing camera attributes that is not found in Apple’s product. The SGIII has the Burst Shot, capturing 3.3 images per second and then choosing the best picture for you. There is also the Zero Shutter lag feature for quick snaps as well as its ability to identify the people that are in a photo.

S-Voice vs. Siri

Samsung’s S-Voice is no doubt a lookalike of Apple’s Siri, highly apparent in its almost similar interface design. Both of these services generally work just fine, although, of course, it does have its own slip-ups once in a while. Both manufacturers are bound to be doing more work to improve their respective services so we should find out soon enough how their tweaks fare out.

Add-Ons

Samsung have been pioneers in coming up with new features that have become the standards for other manufacturers of smartphones. These frills include a Pop-Up Play, which allows you to watch a video and surf the web simultaneously; S-Beam, a combination of Wi-Fi and NFC sharing with other compatible devices; GLONASS support in its location system; Eye Detection, which allows the phone to turn off on its own; Bluetooth 4.0; and a barometer.

The Verdict

Looking at the comparison on the various aspects of the phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III is surely steps above the iPhone 4s. It is far lighter, thinner, and provides you with features that will give you more for your money. Count in its fluidity of operation, user experience, and feature set, and the SGIII seems to be years ahead of the now surprisingly profitable iPhone 4S.

Most people are going to go to the internet when searching for something. The goal is to have them come across your website while they are completing their search. While it is fairly easy to get your own website, the only way that you are going to get traffic on your site is if you have an effective domain name. There are several ways that a domain name can be effective, but these are the three best ways to get people to visit your website.

Easy to Pronounce and Spell

This is essential to getting traffic on your website. If nobody knows how to spell your domain name, then it is nearly impossible for you to get a lot of visitors on your website. Word of mouth is also a great way to build a lot of visitors. If someone discovers your website and has a quality experience, then hopefully they will tell their family and friends about the website. The only way this is going to get more traffic on your website is if they actually no how to pronounce your website.

Make it Memorable

The only way you are going to get people to come back to your website is if you have a memorable domain name. The best way to do this is to keep your domain name as short as possible. A combination of several common words will also work to make your name memorable. If your domain name has a mixture of numbers and random letters, then there is no possible way that anyone is going to be able to remember the name. Nobody wants to spend five minutes typing in a domain name, so it is key to use common words and make it memorable.

Use Keywords

Using keywords in your domain name is a great way to get new customers to your new website. If you are selling baseball bats, then it is a good idea to have those two words in your domain name. Someone that is looking for a place to buy baseball bats online will generally type in the words “baseball bats” into the search engine. If you have these words in your domain name, then your website is going to be one of the first websites that the search engine pulls up. The only way that you are going to get new people to discover your website through search engines is to have keywords in your domain name.

The only way to have a successful website is to find a way to get people to visit. If you incorporate all three items that are detailed in this guide, then you should be able to easily come up with an effective domain name for your business. If you can combine your effective domain name with a quality website, then you are well on your way to building a great online business.

Jerry Adams is a website designer and frequents domain name auctions to find deals on domains.

When that day comes, you are faced with how to sell old BlackBerry models that was once loved and coveted. It can be a time of sadness, a time of confusion.

How will you unload that trusty companion that is about to be replaced, or already has? Giving it away has its own nobility and virtue, but you did pay a good chunk of cash for it. Selling it to a co-worker could have possibilities, but that co-worker whines about having to change cell service providers. Very little help there, it would seem. There is the opportunity to sell it through an online listing or auction, but you’re being frugal and the fees are something of a concern. What to do, what to do.

Selling Your Old BlackBerry

With reputable and dependable sites like CashforBerrys.com, the worry and confusion can come to an end. The company, founded 10 years ago and part of a greater group known as the Cash for Everything family, allows you to sell old BlackBerry for the best asking price available. With their years of experience and service, they have made the process of selling old, used and damaged BlackBerrys a simple and rewarding use of a customer’s time. Even if you think that the condition of the device makes it completely unattractive as a purchase, they will surprise you. The customer can know what their Blackberry has been worth in just under thirty seconds and with just a few clicks to provide information. Now that a price is settled on, the representatives take other steps to make your life easier. They send along the packing materials for you to use, and provide a shipping label with the postage already paid. One packed and dropped off at a UPS location, you, the customer, have only to wait for your money. At the company’s residence, they verify all devices that arrive to ensure that the condition described to them was correct. A single business day after this is completed; a check goes in the mail with your money. Should you possess a Paypal account and would prefer the funds be directly deposited; the staff at CashforBerrys.com will gladly acquiesce to your desires. With your transaction complete, you now have unexpected funds to use. It can go towards offsetting the cost of that newest BlackBerry model if you like, or an accessory or three. However you want to spend it, enjoy it. It’s your money and you earned it. You’ve just completed the easiest way to sell old BlackBerry.

What Happens to that Old BlackBerry?

Refurbishing is a matter of piecing together a whole electronic device from several incomplete ones. In the simplest jobs, all a device might require to be ready for a new owner is the memory being cleansed of all personal data and having all surfaces made dust free. More often than not, it’s a procedure of grabbing an intact case from one phone, a keyboard in pristine condition from another, a screen and hard drive from still another. They all get assembled together and viola, there is a working, complete phone. It gets sold to a new owner for a greatly reduced price. Whenever components of phones that cannot be used in any way are discovered, they are disposed of using proper waste management disposal techniques that are sanctioned by the government.

At Little History

In 1999, the first BlackBerry device was put into the market. It was a two-way pager called the 850. The name BlackBerry was created by the marketing company that represented the manufacturer of the device, Research in Motion. Their first mobile devices were called the RIM 857 and the RIM 850. They were the first devices to employ what is known as the QWERTY keyboard, which was designed for using only the thumbs to type. BlackBerrys are most popular in Latin America and the Caribbean, where 45% of all Smartphone users are carrying some form of Blackberries.

One of these is that using these gadgets can increase the risk of cancer.

In 2011, however, the International Agency for Research on Cancer placed mobile phones under their “gold standard” rating system. This means that such devices can possibly cause cancer in humans.

Evidences in Studies

The largest study ever published that looked into the relationship of mobile phones and cancer consisted of over 420,000 respondents. This Danish study found that there was no evidence linking these devices with leukemia and brain cancers. Another study, looking into 6,000 people from 13 countries with brain cancer also had the same results.

There were studies stating that those people with brain cancers have the tumor growing in the side of their head where they hold their phone to during calls. In such cases, however, their risk for brain cancer was not significantly higher. This effect was attributed to problems with the design of the research study. The information gathered in the study relied on the memory of the participants which is not always reliable.

Further researches in this field are currently on going in order to look for new evidences linking these two.

Cancer Incidence

Consumers have seen a boom in the manufacture, purchase, and use of mobile phones since the 1980s. And if mobile phones do increase the risk for cancer, there should be a trend of increased cancer cases today. However, studies in various countries around the world that then umber of people acquiring this disease has not changed much. Still, it is important to note that cancer takes years to develop so such a trend might rise over time.

Mobile Phone Radiation

It is the radiation that is emitted from these devices that are believed to cause cancer. However, the microwave radiation that they emit is very weak and is not enough to damage DNA. The small amount of heat they produce is also not enough for it to be considered a health risk, according to a number of researches.

Years ago, a set of international safety standards has been released as a way to limit the radiation level given off by phones. Such limit will be very beneficial for children and those who are sensitive to phone radiation.

Taking Precautions

Looking at the bigger picture, mobile phones are still new inventions. Although studies have dictated that using them for about 10 years is relatively safe; consumers should still be cautious of its possible long-term effects. Further, there have been no extensive studies looking into these devices’ effect on the health of children so this is another aspect to look into.

Unless substantial evidence is released offering definitive proof that mobile phones increase the risk for cancer or otherwise, the government and the people should still take the necessary precautions. Adults should minimize their exposure to the radiation and heat that it gives off by keeping call shorts. Children under the age of 16, because their bodies are yet to fully develop, should limit the use of phones for essential calls.

Even those things that seemed impossible to be done in a mobile phone are now very much possible. And just where are these various amenities obtained from? Apple has got this covered with their very own App Store.

Apple’s App Store is a boatload of apps that somehow contribute to give life a little more convenience and entertainment. And because it is a store, you will have to shell out some dollars in order to enjoy the benefits that they bring. Good news for those who are suckers for freebies is that the App Store does contain apps that you can acquire for free. PCMag scoured through the thousands of apps to look for those hidden gems.

Realize that just because something is free, it does not necessarily translate to being cheap, in a negative kind of way. Looking at it in a bigger picture, the App store really is relatively new in the marketing world. And while the business is still making it way into figuring out how to attract new users and make money, it would be best to take advantage of acquiring and using decent apps that do not cost anything.

Here are the 50 best iPhone apps that have made it on the list. These are those that have proven to show a good performance and have received good reviews from their users. Most of all, they are absolutely free without those gimmicks and required memberships.

Whether you are tired of your old provider or are just getting into the bandwagon of worldwide connectivity, looking for an internet service provider does not come as easy as most people perceive it to be. Aside from the choice on whether it will be best to get a DSL or cabled internet connection, you will also have to consider other factors to ensure that you get the best deal for your hard-earned cash.

If you already have a good background with the internet, then this should not be that big of a problem. If you are a novice in the realm of modern technology, however, you will need to be extra careful with your choice. There are so many internet service providers out there offering varied services at differing costs. You need to pick out the one that gives you exactly what you need in a price that you can afford.

Here are 5 helpful tips to keep in mind.

Make a list of the reasons why you need the internet. If you are only after the bare essentials that go along with it such as sending and receiving emails, chatting, and surfing the internet; it would probably be good enough a choose the simplest type of internet service. If you are after video streaming and all similar activities, you will need a service that offers a higher connection speed.

Perform some research on your own. Aside from actually connecting you to the internet, there are internet providers that provide added fancy features to make the entire experience a little more manageable and easier. Pay close attention to the payment plans that they offer as there are those that might charge you a little higher than all the others.

Determine the amount of time that you will use the internet. If you intend to use it for only a couple of hours a day, an expensive monthly subscription might not be the best thing for you. Perhaps you would get the best value for your money if you opt for a prepaid connection or a plan that only allows you to surf for a limited number of hours daily.

Assess their customer service. Even when you are still making queries, proper treatment and courtesy from their employees can give you a good idea on how they will handle any questions or problems that you might have in the future.

Grab opportunities for free internet connection. Anyone who is currently subscribed to internet service providers are allowed to use America Online (AOL) without any charge. You can also get free downloads of virus scanner as well as pop-up and spam blocker software.

It would be rather risky to subscribe in the first internet service provider that you come across that you barely know anything about. Remember that speed does not merely dictate how good of a deal you are getting into. You need to do your homework and know what each provider has to offer to their clients.

The more exclusive iPhone with its trademark iOS from Apple follows at 30% of that number.

Interface

First time smartphone owners will appreciate the easy navigability of the Apple interface—colorful icons set in rows of four on the screen. Everything is conveniently accessible at one swipe of the finger, and this is one of the iOS’ strong points.

On the other hand, Android may have more to offer in terms of interface. For instance, there’s a lot more you can do on the menu of a Samsung Galaxy SII than on an iPhone, allowing you to tweak settings at the same time from the menu, which is something you can also do on HTC Sense phones. Widgets on the Google OS, for instance, are so customizable that each user may have completely different experiences of the interface.

Still, simplicity may win more followers for Apple’s iOS, as Android can be confusing to non-aficionados.

Multitasking

It’s extremely easy to perform several functions at once on iOS. Simply double-press the home button and swipe from left to right. You can shut down applications without having to open them again on your screen by just pressing the X on the icon.

On the other hand, Android’s relatively complex interface allows you to view all running applications at once, but you can’t close them from a central location like in iOS. The latest Ice Cream Sandwich OS will offer a better multitasking function, but for now, it seems Apple has got the upper hand on this one.

Keyboard

The iPhone’s touch screen keypad is relatively accurate and works either for portrait or landscape mode, depending on your preference. Android phones have different typing reviews, depending largely on the specific model. HTC seems to have the best reviews when it comes to typing.

Camera

Apple has taken quite a leap with its camera feature on its iPhone 4S, featuring an 8 megapixel camera and fun related apps like Instagram. Still, Android has more to offer in that arena, as Android phones have several extra features that Apple cannot pull off, like HDR, color burst and a better flash.

Apps

While Apple may have had the upper hand over Android over the last few years, Android has finally gained some substantial ground over the number of iOS apps. Apple has currently 360,000 apps for its iOS, with Android at 320,000 apps—not far behind when you think about how far they’ve come. Android has also created versions of popular iOS apps that are compatible for Android phones, such as Kindle and Angry Birds.

However, Apple still has the same edge over Android in this area, most notably because of its selection of high-quality apps.

***

While it might seem like a battle that’s been waging for the longest time now, the decision between the two doesn’t have to be very hard. The trick to deciding between an Android phone and an iPhone is to determine first what you want out of a smartphone.

While the immediate problem is the fact that you can’t use it for whatever you needed it for, there is a much bigger problem. You begin to panic because your personal financial information is on your phone!

That means that anyone who finds it could get into it, view your information, and even spend your money. Luckily there are some great apps that allow you to store your personal information

Lockdown Pro App

This is a very convenient app that allows you to lock down your apps and settings. Even if a thief gets into your phone there is nothing that they can do, including taking a gander at your personal financial information. This app costs $2.99, but this is nothing compared to how much money you could lose if somebody got access to your information. You do have to enter a password to unlock the phone, but isn’t that worth some peach of mind? This app is affordable and convenient, so we recommend it for anybody who cares about their financial security.

Find My iPhone App

This app is a lifesaver. If you believe that your phone has gone missing or has been stolen, you can use the app to find it, no matter where it is. You simply log into your account on your computer and pinpoint its exact location. This is a free to use app, so even if you are on a tight budget you can use it!

MobileMe App

This last app is the most expensive, but it is one of the best security apps out there. As an Apple Product, it also enjoys a very trustworthy reputation. This app is very similar to “Find My iPhone”, except it has an added layer of protection. Since passwords are hack-able and finding your phone doesn’t necessarily protect it, you have the option to delete all the data on your phone from wherever you are. This can be used in the most desperate of circumstances. However, be prepared to pay $99/month.

By using these apps, you can make sure that your financial information is safe from intruders. MobileMe comes pre-installed, but is not usable until purchase. You can find the rest of the programs in the app store located on your iPhone. They are quick and easy to download, and provide you with the reassurance that your phone is safe.

The phone will stand apart from its competitors as the world’s first super-secure Android smartphone, rocking some serious security measures. Before you start pencilling the release date into your diary though, bear in mind that the handset will probably cost much more than those run-of-the-mill phones you get in high street shops, with competing phones selling around the $20,000 point.

Of course, the issue of security in smartphones is an interesting one; smartphones now contain much more personal information than their more basic mobile predecessors. If someone were to hack into my phone back in 2004, all they’d have found was a few flirty text messages and my mates’ phone numbers. Now, my hypothetical mugger could have access to any and all of the apps that I’ve set to remember my password. That includes my e-mail account, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, and Google. Aside from the fact that by reading my e-mails, it wouldn’t be hard to find passwords and information about bank accounts, while my Facebook messages contain personal gold. Crack into a high-profile figure’s smartphone and you could find yourself staring at thousands of pounds’ worth of blackmail material.

Not that I’m advocating mugging anyone for their phone of course, but it’s important to realise that smartphone security is paramount, whether you work in in the inner circle of the national government or are simply in charge of changing the cartridges in the office photocopier. Either way, our phones are tiny little keys to our lives; no wonder teenagers get so protective when they see their parents hovering around their precious handset. I don’t want my brother completing so much as a level of Angry Birds for me, never mind browsing through my images.

So it’s pretty unfortunate that no one’s thought of releasing a super-safe smartphone for us masses yet. Granted, Boeing’s isn’t going to cost as much as $20,000 (they say), but it’s safe to assume it’s still going to be out of my price range – and yours, unless you’re Richard Branson. There are security measures in place on most smartphones; if you haven’t already, you’d do well to set a password on your phone’s lockscreen, which only the most ardent criminals would bother getting around. I’ll also be pleased when face recognition makes it big – a few smartphones are being released with this technology in 2012, but it’s still a bit of a gimmick; frankly, the more security options we’re offered, the better. And hey, if you’re really self-conscious about having your mug stored on the phone, you don’t have to use it!

But seriously, it’s good news that there are some super safe Android phones out there for defence workers; I mean, I don’t want terrorists getting hold of our national defence secrets any more than the next person. But, it would be nice if phone manufacturers would recognize that – to me – my friends not knowing that I had a crush on my geography teacher in high school is slightly more important than the safety of our political leaders. Is that so hard to understand?

It has allowed all phones to share documents with other devices. This technology exercises radio waves to transmit data and it uses the high frequencies that can go up to 2.4 GHz. The technology support connectivity from several places. This is great as you can connect with several devices concurrently. It is saved; the hackers are unable to steal your computer data during the transmission. The transmission speed is superb and almost impossible to crack.

It is a communication channel used to send advertisements, promotional or informational, to cell phones via Bluetooth technology, where this type of access allowed by a short-range wireless connection, free and easy to use, connect a large number mobile devices such as phones.

What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is the common name for the IEEE 802.15.1 industry specification that defines a global wireless communication standard that transmits voice and data between devices using a radio frequency link secure, globally unlicensed short-range.

Open international standard for a technology that enables short-range wireless voice and data between computers and laptops, PDAs, cell phones, among others, through a band available globally and globally compatible. In other words is the possibility of communication between digital devices without using cables.

How far does it work?

The technology allows a wireless connection from up to 100 meters range.

What applications can be used to send messages to users?

Clip art (discount coupons, screensavers).

Animated images Gif

Promotional videos (adaptations of TV commercials, videos 2D or 3D movie trailers)

Music (jingles, songs).

Ringtones
Games mobile advertising – Mobile Advergames (games developed for the brand, eg change of color of a late model car).

Advertising in mobile games – Mobile In-game Advertising (in existing games to include the brand, e. g solitaire card game).

Does It works on all phones?

Works with most GSM phones, in addition the platform is constantly updating new models.

How many messages can be sent simultaneously?

Allows 21 simultaneous connections, ie., identifies 21 different cell phones that are within the range of coverage and does so randomly, without repeating the message of the identified cell sent.

How does proximity marketing?

The user with the mobile device enters the coverage range of an active space, this happens when near an access point for Bluetooth Area RACSA.

The phone is detected by the access point.

Once the user receive message to your cellular device, you may opt to accept or reject the message received.

If after reviewing the user decides to accept the request, the access point sends a file with the message to the phone via Bluetooth. The user can open, save, forward and / or discard the received message in any case.

What if a user rejects a received message?

The system identifies when a mobile device, and it issues the message is rejected, the same system recognizes the rejection of the message and send it back to another randomly without repeating cell unit cell declined.

How do you measure the effectiveness of the service?

The system provides detailed statistics properly plotted on the exact amount of downloads, many cell phones were identified, how many downloaded the message and how many also shows a detail of cell phone types identified.

Bluetooth is offering a lot to in an increasingly competitive market. Bluetooth helps to get freedom from cables and provide simple application.

Bluetooth is also use low power with low protocol overhead. It is ideal for integration into smallest battery powered devices. In short, the applications with Bluetooth are virtually endless. Bluetooth will be around for years to come.
