LAVA IRIS 504Q vs MICROMAX CANVAS HD Comparison

After so many requests we got, finally we have come with a comparison - this time between two most famous Android Phones LAVA IRIS 504Q v.s. MICROMAX CANVAS A116 HD. It will be very difficult to judge which is better so lets have some talk at glance about the two.

Micromax Vs Lava !

Display
MICROMAX CANVAS HD has got a very good display for both inside and outside doors. It has IPS LCD display with 294 Pixels Per Inch (PPI) density with 16 million colors and 720x1280 pixels HD display.

On the other side, LAVA IRIS 504Q loaded with same IPS LCD screen but with one more new OGS technology. It has 293 per pixel density, 16 million colors but with 720x1080 pixel HD resolution.

LAVA IRIS 504Q HAS A EDGE OF "OGS DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY" HERE , BUT MICROMAX CANVAS HD A BIT AHEAD BECAUSE OF ITS RESOLUTION AND PIXEL PER INCH DENSITY.

Screen Size
Both comes with same screen size so here no words to compare, we could say about screen material quality and its protection but not for size.

For Quality, MICROMAX CANVAS HD has a edge here with protection on the screen.

Android Versions
LAVA IRIS 504Q comes with latest Android version Jelly-bean 4.2 where as MICROMAX CANVAS HD comes with Jelly-bean 4.1 with an update of same that is Jelly-bean 4.2.

We would say that don't worry for the Android version because both are the flagship of companies so, Phones will get regular updates for Android Versions which are yet to come.

Processors and RAM
Both Quad-Cores Phones, LAVA IRIS 504Q loaded with 1.2 GHz MediaTek Quad-Core processor and with 1 GB RAM where as MICROMAX CANVAS HD loaded with same chipset but with different version i.e. MediaTek MT6589 1.2 GHz cortex A7 with same 1 GB of RAM.

Both companies assure that "You play any HD game, Phone will never lag" , We have tested CANVAS HD personally and yes it does not lag when playing many HD games on it.

Connectivity
With GSM 2G/3G, Dual SIM and dual standby facility in both the phone, The MICROMAX CANVAS HD has high speed HSPDA 21 mbps and WLAN - WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and Ofcourse USB v2.0 with On The Go, GPS (also A-GPS)

When topic shifts to LAVA IRIS 504Q, then this phone has a high speed of same HSPDA 21 mpbs and same WLAN - WiFi 802.11 b/g/n , WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 and USB with OTG. We are not sure for Bluetooth with A2DP and GPS (yes sure A-GPS).

Camera :-

When we talk about camera then, till we haven't tested LAVA IRIS 504Q but company assure for its good quality pics with 3264x2448 pixels and with LED flash and Autofocus.

LAVA IRIS 504Q has front camera for Video calling of 2 MP.

Now, turning to MICROMAX CANVAS HD, this phones captures photos of same 3264x2448 pixels with Autofocus. This phone also loaded with same 2MP camera for Video calling.

IRIS 504Q record Full HD Video of 1080p resolution where as CANVAS HD do a job of 720p only.

Battery
Both phones have a Li-ion battery of 2000 mAh.

The toughest part for this post, "Which is better", so according to us , feautures wise LAVA IRIS 504Q score more than CANVAS HD. It has a edge of HOVERING, display and Video recording. Also it is latest than MICROMAX CANVAS HD.

Final words will be that if you could trust LAVA company then go for IRIS 504Q otherwise we have MICROMAX CANVAS HD which today has better respect and resale value in the market and all depends on you.

One of the most awaited and suspended phone of this year, MOTOROLA SMARTPHONE X , got some specs. Accidentally today when TechDigged was surfing Twitter got a news about specification about this phone.
This is a Mid-Range phone with Mid-Range specifications. It has 720p display of some unknown Pixel Density. But we have heard that it is tie-up with Google so we are sure that display quality will be good to compete today's some Android beast's.

Getting a dual-core processor of 1.7 GHz from Krait which was among good competitor in making best chip-sets. It will have 2GB of RAM MSM8960 Pro Chip-set.

The phone is bulked up with 16 GB internal memory and we are not sure for Micro SD card, if it will available then we expected for 32GB expandable and if not then not a topic to discuss.

If we talk about camera, Video then you will be happy to read that this phone is loaded with 10 Mega Pixels High Definition camera which will be capable of capturing Excellent photos to make your Moment special and it will be able to record High Definition videos for sure but we are not sure about Full-HD recording.

Somehow, Phone has 2 MP front camera for Video calls and video recording and pics. Well Music, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC (not fully sure), 3.5mm audio jack are its obvious features.

TechDigged is dissapointed for its Android version, it is 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but we thought that it will have Android 5. From rumors, it is about to arrive.

In very starting of CANVAS series, People were not so sure about its strength and obviously they have a doubt "Will it be right to buy Micromax"? But MICROMAX CANVAS 2 A110 was a perfect phone then MICROMAX CANVAS HD and some others canvases all were very best at their place. I liked Canvas HD A116 very much from personel view cause first cheapest Quad-Core Android and really it was very good phone and no doubt to buy.

HOW TO: Connect to Tikona wifi on your Android phone , tab without router.

TDN - Tikona Digital Networks , is a trending internet provider in India , it has almost covered whole of INDIA , and hopes to expand its network abroad . The quick reply , assistance , remote help etc have led the company to great heights , Tikona usually have their network towers in a particular areas and they installs routers on customers terrace , the the process goes . the tower Routes (Sends) the WiFi Signal from the Main modem to user's personal computer through wifi.
The Problem starts here , though we get a really nice speed (provided the servers are up) , we can use it only on the PC through which the wire is connected . and if we want to use it on other devices , we again need to buy a MODEM (like Netgear , etc), to convert our router's signal to WiFi network . Which usually cost's 1.5 k or more . So if you don't have that much budget , or you want some direct method (That is without Modem) we have a solution for you .

First let me explain why we require a Modem and what can we do to get connected without it :-

The Modem you buy will convert the wired connection into WiFi Signals so that we can use it on our Android device or TV's etc .
So, to solve the problem we have to get on our terrace (yeah , it sounds funny but its the only way) after you go to your terrace your phone can receive the signals which your Router receives and get connected to the hidden WiFi .

So You need to Follow these Steps :-

Go to Your terrace .
Switch Of your Android Device , or Tab or whatever .
Go to Settings > Wireless Networks > WiFi > Add Network .
After you Click on Add Network you will get a window with options like SSID , security etc
Fill in these Details >

SSID > tikonawifi
Security > 802.1x EAP
EAP method > PEAP
Phase 2 Authentication > MSCHAPV2
CA certificate > unspecified
User Certificate > unspecified
Identity > Your Tikona User ID (e.g :110XXXXXXX)
Anonymous Identity > Empty (Do not fill anything)
Password : Your Tikona User Password

After These you can click on show password to check weather you entered the correct password or not , then save the settings .

Then after this click on the scan button and wait for "tikonawifi" to appear . after it appears , click on connect .

You will be successfully connected to your Tikona wireless network .

After that , go to your Android Default Browser (Pre-installed) , The Log in Page will open , or if it does not , Type "1.254.254.254" without quotes - this will open the Login Page , just enter your user details , and login . after that you are successfully online . now you can do Anything that Requires net.

After Sony Xperia's success Sony Xperia Z "The Best Of Sony" , Sony has shown that they are not back of any one and openly challanged Samsung and HTC.

After new innovations like being Waterproof, Dustproof, and Quadcore beast Snapdragon processor, Sony may launch another expected success for the company a phablet named "Sony Xperia ZU" rumored having Snapdragon 800 and 6.5" screen this time.

NETWORKING AND ITS WORKING: SOME BASICS YOU MUST KNOW

Well after so many request from visitors a.k.a TECHDIGGEDian, I have come across this post which is quite general but i bet will be very useful for all our special and precious visitors. Today i will be telling you about NETWORKING, how does it works and its small-small things.

Networking

What Is Networking

Networking is simply data-sharing or Information sharing or in the most way two or more computer connected to share resources, exchange files or allow electronic communication (Telephone).

ARPANET was the first network.

Server: A computer that facilitates the sharing of data, software and hardware resource ( eg. printers, modem etc) on the network.

Hub: A Hub is used in a wired network to connect Ethernet cables from number of devices together.
Switch: A device which is used to divide a large number of network in to sub-network.
MODEM: Breaking two words- Modulator-Demodulator. It is a device which convert analog signal into digital signals and vice-verse.
Bridge: A device which is used to connect two or more networks together. It is a intelligent device as it also make decision to which network data has to be sent.
Router: A device which is WAN based and decide the best possible route to connect computers like we use Routers to connect two computer's Internet connection.
Gateway: A device which connects two dissimilar networks together.
Repeater: A much needed device which amplify weak signals.

Data Sending Techniques

There are three types of techniques which is all over the world is used.

Packet Switching
Message Switching
Circuit Switching

Packet Switching: Very Very simple example of packet switching is Internet Download Manager (IDM) i hope all of you have used IDM, you may have observed that IDM download all thing in parts and then when downloading is completed, it recombines it and save it into our PC's.

Same is packet switching, It convert big file into small packets and then is transferred or downloaded in to required destinations and it is unidirectional.

Message Switching: Take an example of your mobile phone, you send a message to your dear one, and it is delivered to your receiver, how this is done, its main principle is store and forward i.e it will first go to your local exchange> Main Exchange> Receiver's Main Exchange> Receiver's Local Exchange> Receiver.

Data is not distributed into packets but sended into once.

Circuit Switching: In this technique, first complete physical connection between two computer is established and then data is transmitted. Not only computers, all wired telephonic network is a part of this switching.

Wireless Communication

Many of the International Network are only possible because of Wireless Communications.

Microwaves: Microwaves signals is used to transmit the data without use of cable. The signals are similar to radio and television signals and are used for long distance communications. It consists of a Transmitter, receiver and the atmosphere. It offers freedom from land acquisition rights that are required for laying, repairing cables. It offer easy communication over terrain.

Radio waves: The transmission making use of radio frequencies. When certain radio frequencies are allocated to private business for direct voice communications, they can make use of it for private business purpose. It consists of a Transmitter and A Receiver. In Aeroplane, Pilot make use of Radio-waves for communications with their base.

The transmitter takes some sort of message, encodes it into a sine wave, and transmit it with radio waves.

It can penetrate in the hilly areas.

SATELLITE: To avoid some of the limitations of microwaves earth stations, communications companies have added microwave "Sky Stations", communications satellites, Signals are sent from stations to satellite and satellite reflect the signal to the required destination of any corner of the world.

Some General Things You Should Know

Any page that we see on the internet is a "Website". When a website provides different/ multiple services it is termed as Website-Portal. Software which is used to access the internet is Web-Browser and which provide internet services is called Web-Server (eg. google server, WordPress ).

There are certain rules which governs the control of network, we say it Protocol.

TCP/IP: Transmission control protocol, it takes data and distributes it in to packets (in our computer the Internet comes in packet> Received and Sent), this is done by TCP/IP also it gives destination and address and serial no to those packets.

Individually, IP> Gives direction to the packets.

Security

VIRUSES: Software program that are executed on its own in the computer without admins permit and harm the computer.
WORMS: They are form of viruses which keeps on copying from folder to folder, PC to PC.
TROJANS: They are hidden codes when accessed, harm PC at a very high risk.
HACKERS: They are the people which tend to gain knowledge about computer system and use them for pranks.
CRACKERS: They are professional programmers used to hack accounts, have wrong intentions, and misuse it.
ANTIVIRUS: Softwares which are used to prevent VIRUSES in the computers.
ANTI-TROJANS: Same as anti-virus but work for Trojans. (Anti-Viruses Don't Work For Trojans.)
FIREWALL: It is a protection layer on network and checks all the incoming traffic & rejects unwanted IP's)

Hello there , Sorry For the Long Gap between the posts , i regret it . Actually there were many Factors - Exams, family Affairs etc etc . but now i'm back and will post regularly .
So , you are a Googler right ? or may be a binger , that doesn't matter , if you were searching for something - "how to turn off an device remotely" , you landed the right place !

The App is named - Remote Turn Off . and it is a very simple app that with the help of your Device's Root access , Shuts down the phone . By sending the Code 'power#off', as a text message from any other cell to your device .This app will not work as a simple Installed app , It would be either flashed using recovery, or have to be pushed to the system/app folder . And for Notice : this app will not work on non-rooted phones . Its a free App .And have features , which include to change the Code , So as to be prevented from your Prank Friends , you can'r download it from play store , as i earlier mentioned , its not a simple app . but a flashable ZIP .

How to use ?

Place the Downloaded File in your SD card , Directly in it and not in any folder.
Turn off your Phone in Recovery mode , Preferably Clockworkmod recovery (try googling for your device)
Choose the install zip from SD card.
Select the file.
wait for the Process to complete , and then reboot your device .
Then >
You Just need to send the SMS with 'power#off' to the device you want to turn off , From any mobile number.

REQUIRES A ROOTED DEVICE !

IMPORTANT :-

You can't change the Keyword .
You won't Find any icon in the App-drawer , the App runs Completely in Background .

Sometime you read an article on a website (say : Xda-developers) stating that they created a new app that Can make a phone a Flash light or a matchstick etc . You get exited and then get a sigh , the sigh being because you want to develop an app and the sign (of failure) because you don't know coding . But now there's no need to worry , Microsoft is Listening to you ! this post is for every Lumia user , who want to give a start to the development World ! WHY DO WE NEED OF APPLICATION COMPATIBLE LAYER

This year (2013) will are likely to see the launch of many new mobile platforms like Tizen, Web OS, Sailfish, Firefox OS. Do not insert your device .
In that command prompt Type 'adb wait-for-device'
The Cursor will start blinking , After that connect your device in USB DUBUGGING MODE enabled State . There will be some change in the Command Prompt , the cursor will stop blinking (If the Change Do not occur try switching off and restarting Android Debugging mode ).
Now you have to be carefull , There are 2 Methods .
First is :-

Type the Command Given below one by one (Each Line at a time) after doing above steps :-

adb shell
cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
sqlite3 settings.db
update system set value=0 where name='lock_pattern_autolock';
update system set value=0 where name='lockscreen.lockedoutpermanently';
.quit

Try restarting You phone After the Above is Done , Though the Lock will appear Still , you can draw any pattern and unlock .

2nd method:-

Insted of the Above Lines paste This line in cmd :-

adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key

After that restart your device ..!

Try Both the Methods , this is how one of our XDA members managed to unlock :-

he ran the First method .
Reboot
then he ran the Second Method
Reboot .

Note :- After running the above methods when you reboot your Device you may still see the Lock.....try Putting any Lock... it would Be saved for delault ! Cheers !

Thanks to all this extra power, Tegra 4 can handle resolutions of up to 2,560 x 1,440 (also known as 1440p or 4k) for encode and decode, which is the resolution found on 27-inch monitors like the ViewSonic VP2770-LED. It can also play 1080p video at 120Hz, meaning proper stereoscopic Full HD 3D is potentially on the cards.

Nvidia Tegra 4 offers world-wide, super fast 4G mobile broadband support through an optional fifth-gen Nvidia Icera i500 CPU, which is up to 40 percent smaller than “conventional modems”. I own a Micromax a52 Android 2.3 Device and it is Dropped by me every forthcoming day , Still its as Awesome as it is ! You Should Always Go For a reputed Manufacturer Such as Samsung , Lg etc

Processor -

Please make Sure that you get a device with a Good process , i Personally Recommend a processor more than 800 MHz , you can go above it , but below it our device will suck . If you have a better Processor probably , you can Play Better High End Games on it Including NFS , NOVA etc .

RAM -

If you want to have Complete Fun with your Android Device a RAM of 512MB is Recommended , If you Go below 512 you'll have to restrict yourself to a limited no of Apps being Installed in the Device . Moreover your Device Will Be Very Sluggish .

Misc :-

Camera :- Should Be Above 2 MP

Audio :- Should Have a 3.5mm Jack

Display :- Should be At least 3 inches ! or your eyesight will go !

Card Slot :- Should be there (Will Work if not there).

Though Google has already released Chrome For Android This is wholly a new Version and is Called Chrome Beta (testing State). The Description of the App by Play store is as follows "-

It also states that the Experience of this new Version may not be As Good as Expected as it is a testing (Beta) Version.
