CNET has mentioned about a cool and unique Facebook app called “Whopper Sacrifice”. It will give you a coupon for a free hamburger if you delete 10 people from your friends list. It has been created by fast-food chain Burger King. One interesting fact of this app is that it shows your sacrifices in your activity feed and a note is also sent to your deleted friends informing them that they have been sacrificed for a Whopper.

It’s a very new concept for advertisement which lets you to be more engaging and fulfill your social networking obsession as well.

We had reported earlier about P-Series VAIO specification which was said to be accidently released on SonyStyle. Now, the Sony VAIO P-Series gets official and the specification of the official release matches with the previously released specification.

TechCrunch recently published an article about the worldwide traffic stats published by ComScore. The stat is from November 2007 to November 2008. Blogger rules the chart with 222 million unique worldwide visitors with 44 percent rise as compared to November 2007. MySpace is steady with 126 million unique visitors. Windows Live has declined by 22 percent. Wordpress has a rise of 68 percent with 114 million unique visitors.

The greatest rise is of Facebook. Its unique visitors count has increased by 116 percent. It is near the 200 million figure and will cross pass it soon.

Facebook had announced the beta testing of its payment system. The Facebook Platform Payment System would allow the transaction to happen within Facebook applications, i.e. Facebook would accept payment from users directly inside Facebook applications without the use any third party payment like Paypal. The Facebook payment system would allow users to purchase and sell both virtual and physical goods and services inside the Facebook apps.

But the payment system is still on hold. It seems that Facebook is not yet willing to come in the middle of third party payment systems. InsideFacebook writes:-

When asked directly about the future of a Facebook Platform payments system this afternoon, a Facebook spokesperson said, “We’ve been excited by advertising and payments solutions provided by the market, and we currently do not have anything to share around a Facebook Payments system at this time.”

Microsoft is planning to release Windows 7 in mid January 2009 but DownloadSquad has written about a leaked version of Windows 7. The Beta ISO file of Windows 7 can be obtained via torrent. The ISO includes Windows 7 M1 build 7000.

A new Facebook application called Voicetag lets you send voice message to your friends and groups. This is not the first application of its kind but the specialty of this app is that its SMS commands will call you back on your mobile to record your message.

TC explains the workflow of this app as:-

“The app is very simple. You select a Facebook contact you want to leave a voice message for (or you can set up group aliases), and add an optional text message. Then, instead of using a computer microphone, you enter the number where you are at and Voicetag calls you. After leaving your message, the recipient gets a notification via Facebook and can play the Voicetag from his or her browser. You can also leave messages to groups from your cell phone by texting Voicetag. It will then call back your cell phone and you can leave a message. The service is free for now.”

Jkontherun found the specification of Sony Vaio Netbook said to be accidently released on SonyStyle. It is said to be a “P-Series” VAIO. Among the Sony portable computers, the P will have a high-resolution screen.

The Sony Vaio Pocket features a 1.33GHz Intel processor, a 1600×768 ultra-widescreen 8-inch display, a 60GB hard drive or 128GB SSD and uses Windows Vista as the OS. It wil be available in three different colors: Crimson Red, Champagne Gold, and Black Silk.

Twitter has announced that its Profile search is back. It had the profile search feature before but the service was removed due to some technical problems.

You can search twitter accounts of people and organizations by their name by clicking ‘Find People’ present in the navigation bar at the top of your twitter page. According to twitter – “the new name search is much faster, more relevant, and it even has a phonetic similarity algorithm which is basically fancy talk for spell check on names.”
