You have a collection of photos and want to merge your photos together. Well, if you have a camera, and you snapped them and wanted to join them using any photo editor software to do the panaroma effect.

For now TechieDan will be teaching you how to merge photos to create a panaroma effect with simple steps using Adobe Photoshop CS3 (yes.. CS4 would roughly work the same way). A year ago, TechieDan paid a heavy price for merging the photos one by one by sticking them together and cutting and paste using Adobe Photoshop CS. With the emergence of Adobe Photoshop CS3, the process is now made simple.

Here’s the expected result.

Impressive? Here’s how to do it?

Step 1

Select Photomerge and the next screen will come up in Step 2.

Step 2

Now you can play around with it, or just set it to Auto and search for files using the Browse… button. Do not overload with too many photos or you will face a very long downtime of joining the photos together. It takes up loads of memory.

Here’s the effect after joining 6 photos together.

So you have it, the above photo was basically joined by 6 different photos. Not bad? If you a better way or any other way to do panaroma with other softwares, why not drop a comment?

Mozilla is obviously improving to accomodate everyone’s browsing experiences. A few weeks or rather a few months ago, I was introducing the steps and looking thru Internet Explorer 8, now Mozilla Firefox came up with a new version a few days ago. The latter is know as Mozilla Firefox 3.5.

With the introduction of Firefox 3.5, users can start to tinker with lots of security issues being handled. Though it will take awhile before some plugins and add-ons to be compatible with Firefox 3.5, but it’s a start of a new browser adventure.

Based on the official site, firefox 3.5 now offers super fast improvements and so called 2x more speed than Firefox 3.0. The ability to watch ogg extension videos online is also a bonus.

Some other things to watch out though, is that if only the memory usage of Firefox could be lesser, but as usual with greater technology comes more responsibility.

I am downloading my Mozilla Firefox 3.5 now here, how about you?

Editor’s Note : After using Firefox 3.5, the performance and speed is really there. So far all my plugins worked well with this version.

Breaking News

TechieDan has finally made it past the Page Rank 0. A few months back, TechieDan.com was hit by the Google Ranking from a Page Rank of 2 to 1 then to 0. Realising the fact that due to insufficient updates these days, a few blog posts was released and TechieDan has now reached it’s Page Rank 1.

In a way though, Page Rank is still an amusing and complicated thing to comprehend. Believing that other than building links, the calculation would have been a lot more complex. Though suspicion of Google calculating page rank of a site seems a bit undefined. For example, if one owns a blogspot and that blog has not been updated for a very long time, (for instance one of my blogspot blogs), it still maintain it’s PR3 rank.

Some tools which TechieDan use to determine it’s Page Rank is from PrChecker, a simple direct PR display tool and PrCheckingTool, one that can determined whether there was any response to a banned PR ranking. TechieDan personally likes the 2nd tool, as it’s able to determine whether any one of my sites got banned for Page Ranking.

Well, anyway since it’s the mark of a new PR1 rank here, what about the rest of the people out there? Is this new update of PR something new to discuss.

In Adobe Photoshop we trust, though now I would like you to view a shocking true Adobe Photoshop capability which I think would be quite shocking even to me.

Now what do you think personally? Photoshop is used properly or used as a tool to cheat people right out there?

Twitter is the IN thing these days. Back then when there was plurk, now the hype is all about Twitter. Well, so to say that using my Firefox and having plugins to support twitter is what helps me to keep up to date to the people I am following.

Have been using TwitterFox as my personal twitter update with my FireFox 3, and it looks like that there is an upgrade to this remarkable tool. The interface has changed.

Well, it looks pretty normal on this, but wait till you see the next screenshot.

Yes, TwitterFox is now resizable and you can actually drag it all the way to envelop the whole screen (though the editor must be wondering why would one do that though). A very good improvement to my eyes as now one can read tweets in one single line.

Well, speaking of twitter, some amazing new features, would like to see is the ability to change more of it’s skin color. Sort of a minor update, but it sure will be good to merge the colors of it with the dashboard. So far there’s black color, wonder when all the other colors would be available.

EA Sports Fifa Online 2, finally a soccer game or rather a football game where it’s online and one can trade cards with each another. Well, the mechanics of this game is fairly different I must say. Yes, a game review of a game from EA Sports.

Considering one needs to login and create a user.

For EA FIFA fans, I am pretty sure some of it’s game mechanics might suit a few of those FIFA 98 and FIFA 2000 series due to it’s graphics and game play. Well, considering it to be an online game, details might be hard for some users due to slow internet connection.

Once login, one can create a team based on the certain approved teams EA has gotten permission to. Though there are no Malaysia Super League teams around.

To learn more about the gameplay, one can visit the game’s official website where it teaches one the basics of FIFA such as the A S D key. As always any game will usually have it’s own exploitation.

Looking from the screen, one can adjust the power level of a kick, a lob or even a pass. Well, this game do give challenges when the AI seems to be able to score from every corner when left unchecked. Beware of the AI. Of course if you just don’t want to play the game and quitting halfway, you can exit the match.

Just be warned, doing so will automatically set your team as the losing team with the score of 0 - 3. In a way it’s fair since the points are updated online.

My judgement on this game : Fair, addictive but for Super 11 fans, this might not be your game. TechieDan got addicted to this game when he has nothing else to do.

How would you know if your company blocked access to certain websites and urls. As a matter of fact, one of the ways a company are able to block is by using a router or through a proxy server.

Seemingly I tasted this feeling too, when the company I am working at is blocking Youtube, Blogspot (clueless as to why they block this), Friendster, Flickr (photos are not allowed??). Now if you’re still pretty unsure as to whether it was blocked or just a minor glith of a 404 error, this is the screen I see when I tried to access a blogspot address.

With technology moving at a fast pace, I wasn’t surprised when they can now have 32GB of storage in a super small thumb drive. Well, gone were the floppy discs and giant LDs. After losing both my 4GB and 2GB Kingston different generation thumb drives, I decided to compensate myself with a bigger storage of an 8GB Kingston Data Traveler Thumb Drive.

In the world of mini pen/thumb drives, Kingston still does it well with it’s different generations of drives and design. This current design though makes it all stylish and yes, it comes in pink in color too for those that love this color. To those who opt for the 8GB thumb drive, the only color is PINK and I must say it strikes a very good color matching with the silver outer layer.

It’s a sad thing though, it wouldn’t be like my recent 2GB thumb drive which is waterproof as it doesn’t come with a cap.

Recommendation

Go for this design if you love the different designs. As there is no cap, there’s no way it’s going to survive the washing machine this time around. With it’s compact size, it fits right into my wallet, thus I won’t go losing it like I used to.

In the digital world, lots of us are in need of digital storage. Gone were the days of gigantic hard disk to store our needed work. Now it’s all in memory cards, SD Cards even in Compact Flash cards. Though there are also bigger alternatives like the portable hard disk which can go up to a few Terrabytes.

Though, in the camera world, nothing beats having faster card to synchronise it together with the camera. Sandisk gets the nod for this with it’s popular Extreme series. For a storage card that reads 200x and 30MB/s, it will be a steal for camera and photography enthusiast. No worries of buffer time and this will at least give more time to the user.

Now after what seems to be a rumored model of Nikon, Nikon finally after few days of rumors, it’s now going to be out.

The Nikon D5000 is out now and what a new revelation to entry level DSLR users and those venturing into new DSLR models. It boast of HD capable video recording quality and most importantly, a different major appearance compared to the other Nikon sets is the swivel mode of the live preview.

Some specifications worth noted
Focal Point : 11 focus points (1 cross-type sensors)
Timer : 2, 5, 10, and 20 s
LCD : 2.7 ” TFT LCD
Bracketing
Uses the Multi CAM 1000 AF module, as with D90
4FPS continuous
viewfinder grid
720p/24

Click HERE to read more about the specifications

Author’s note

To me, I find it disturbing. It seems entry level deserved a boost but now it seems like it’s trying to be more like an all into one gadget. Now DSLR is not about taking photos but having more and more video functions like the swivel mode.

Nevertheless it still serve it’s purpose as a starting point for new users to DSLR and beginners alike. Thumbs up for Nikon and have your heads up for their rumored Nikon D400 upcoming towards the end of the year.
