Based on the teaser, it seems to be all about AI. So, I am not expecting serious upgrades to the hardware.

From the leaks, it seems we will be witnessing another upgrade of the flagship mobile phones. So, I am expecting an upgrade that might be named Samsung Galaxy S26 series (S26 Ultra, S26 Plus, S26). I am particularly interested in S26 Ultra (if that is the name they are keeping) because it always has something different from the current S25 Ultra (based on the many years of new iterations).

Looking at AI, I think this might be the talking point for Samsung. Hopefully, they do not label everything as AI. Not sure about the hardware though. There will always be some upgrades to cameras and a tweak or two to the material, chassis and even colors from what we have seen in the past so far.

This is not new news. The vivo V60 Lite 5G is available since late September. It is only recently that I looked at the pricing and its specifications. At S$499, it comes with 12GB RAM, up to 12GB extended RAM and 512GB of storage. That is very affordable considering the rest of its specifications.

And I am surprised that it comes with a decent camera setup.

Battery longevity is a defining strength of the V60 Lite 5G. Its 6500 mAh BlueVolt Battery^[14] is engineered to support 5-Year Battery Health^[15]. The device supports 90W FlashCharge^[16], enabling a full charge from one percent to 100 percent in 52 minutes^. With just a 1% charge in 10 minutes, it can support up to 6.6 hours of YouTube viewing or 3.6 hours of Free Fire gaming^[17].  Bypass Charging^[18] directs current straight to the display and processor to reduce heat buildup during demanding sessions, while a 24-Dimension Security Protection creates stable and secure power delivery. 

The V60 Lite 5G is supported by a Super Battery Saver feature which once enabled, greatly reduces power consumption and extends battery life. Additionally, the Battery life extender feature ensures essential calls can still be made even when the device is hits 0% and is about to shut down. I am one of the backers (backer #600) for the Rokid AI & AR glasses, Rokid Glasses. It was successfully funded on 10^th October 2025 (recently), and all backers are expected to get it by November 2025.

As a disclaimer, Kickstarter is NOT a retail platform. It is a platform where backers support interesting projects and put them to life. Some projects did not make it to the final product. Most of them made it after successfully funded. That means that backers must have some faith in the companies/person to support them (monetarily).

In this case of the Rokid Glasses, it is rare that the final product will be made available to consumers first instead of the backers on Kickstarter who had taken a leap of faith to support them in the early phase. To be fair, Rokid is a solid company with good track records on their products. And Kickstarter backers can get the product at a cheaper pricing than the RRP and usually with free gifts. It is just sad that their marketing strategy prefers consumers than Kickstarter backers (IMHO).

Here is a screenshot of the Kickstarter project for the Rokid Glasses. I am happy that they have exceeded their expectation by a big margin. They have collected more than USD 3.6 million from more than 5,000 backers.

I had a few chances to meet up with the Rokid team in Singapore but due to conflict of schedules, I am unable to meet them (they are public events, not media meet-up). I have not personally reach out to them to understand why they make this decision but for now, I just hope that they can deliver the Rokid Glasses on time before my end-of-the-year trip.
