The Microsoft Money Plus Sunset is a replacement for it previous version which include Essentials, Home, Business, Deluxe and Premium. This new version will convert older files into the Sunset format but will not have any technical support from Microsoft.

Microsoft Money Plus Sunset does not have any of the online features that the previous versions had. Previous users of the software will anyway loose access to the online features when the servers go down on Jan 2011.

Jailbreaking does not brick your device, any errors can easy be corrected using the restore function, so I feel it safe. Now for this test I was using an iPod Touch 3G 8GB. Other similar tutorials miss out on an important step which is the reason you can jailbreak but I’ll explain in detail.

First thing you need to know is SHSH blobs, you dont need to know the technical details, just need to know that you need these to be able to downgrade to a lower version. This is why most iPhone iOS 4.02 tuorials work just for a few people. If your SHSH was saved on Cydia (ie you had jailbroken the device before), the downgrade would work while others would get a 3002 error. This tutorial will work for everyone, including those who dont have their SHSH saved on Cydia.

First we need to download TinyUmbrella to view some details about the device and trick iTunes to allow you to downgrade versions. Download TinyUmbrella for your operating system. Right click on the downloaded file and “Run as administrator”. Connect your device using the USB cable. Now click on the save SHSH button. This will save your SHSH blobs to Cydia and you will get a confirmation.

Now start the TSS server by clicking the button, this is actually supposed to trick iTunes by sending the verification request to a dummy server. The software however does not work correctly, so we are manually going to change the address values.

Open My Computer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\

Here you will find a file named hosts. Unfortunately Vista and Win 7 users cannot modify the file directly. So copy this file to your desktop. Now open the file using Notepad (open Notepad, drag and drop the file into it).

Change the line 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com to 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

Save the file and copy it back to its original location (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\)

Now we need to download the firmware iOS4.0 for your device. Download iOS 4.0 firmware from felixburns.de. If you dont know which one you need, just enter the last 3 digits of your iPod or iPhones serial number and it will tell you what device you have. Download the corresponding firmware 4.0 for your device.

Connect your device to iTunes, while still connected to iTunes turn off the device by holding the power key and then sliding the power off option. Once the device is turned off we are going to restart it in Restoration mode.

Simply hold down the power and home button of your device together and it will start in restore mode. The device will boot up into restore mode. It will look like the image below. Incase you didnt press the buttons correctly, shut down and do the step again.

Itunes will now give a message that the device was found in Restore mode, click OK.

Click the Restore button on iTunes while holding down the Shift key. It absolutely important that you click it while pressing the Shift key on your keyboard.

Now you can choose the firmware you wish to install to your iPhone or iPod. Select the firmware you downloaded earlier and click OK. The device will now install the firmware and reboot.

Now the easy part, activate Wifi and start Safari. Go to www.jailbreakme.com on your device and follow the instructions (slide to jailbreak).

Congragulations your iPod iOS 4.02 is now jailbreak ed. You should see Cydia installed on the device. Have good time with it.

Just wanted to add that Cydia has its custom sources for getting additional apps but I’m not going to cover that in this tutorial.

Now Google is making its email service even better by adding a new feature called Priority Inbox. No this is not some paid service they are starting up !

Priority Inbox introduces automatic sorting of emails depending on it priority to you. So that you can read all the important emails before going through promotional or marketing ones. Gmail starts giving priority to people you reply to, this way emails you are waiting for a reply to will show up first in your Inbox.

The introduction video for Priority Inbox is really good and shows you what this is about.

The feature should be rolled out in a week’s time, hope you guys are looking forward to it as much as I am.

Metro 2033 Crash Black Screen Fix

The first thing you want to do if the game crashes is updating your graphics card. If you dont know what graphics card you have, right click on your desktop, go to display properties and click advanced settings. You should be able to see the model of your graphics card, head over to the manufacturers website and update the drivers for these.

Second most important thing to prevent metro 2033 crash is to install all the additional software that came with the game. Go to the games DVD folder, install all the additional software like Directx, Physx and Runtime C packages. It is important to install them even if you have newer versions.

This usually happens after the game worked once and you changed any video settings. It could also happen if the configuration file is corrupted. For this error we need to reset the user.cfg file on your system.

Open My computer and go to the following folder (the Appdata folder might be hidden)

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033

Delete the user.cfg file in this folder and run the game.

Metro 2033 no menu / escape key does not work / cannot move

Sometimes after deleting the user.cfg file it might not contain the keybindings for the game.

Start the game, go to options > controls > keyboard and click reset to default.

You should now be able to move around in the game, incase the Escape key does not work you will have to add that binding manually in user.cfg

Go to C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033 and open the user.cfg file in Notepad

Add bind changemenumap kESCAPE in the line after unbindall

The menu should work while playing the game.

There is a know issue with Alt+Tabbing, incase you cant alt+tab back into the game, just do it a few more times and the game will switch correctly. Also wanted to add that some people report that switching between Directx 10 and 9 can improve stability depending on your system configuration.

How to fix task manager has been disabled by your administrator error

Method 1

Click on start and type or paste the following (XP users need to go to Start > Run)

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

This will add the necessary commands into the registry to enable the task manager.

Thats it the task manager has been disabled by your administrator error will no longer show up.

Method 2

Windows Ultimate / Enterprise Users can also use Group Policy to fix the task manager disabled error

Open Group Policy by typing gpedit.msc into the run box

Now navigate to Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Template  > System > Ctrl+Alt+Del Option

Double Click on Remove Task Manager and choose “Not configured”.

Click Apply and OK.

In case it does not get fixed you can choose the “Disabled” option instead of “Not configured” in the last step.

Once pictures are uploaded to Flickr, it resizes them to fit viewing in different sizes on the site. Clicking on the all sizes button above a picture will show you the different sizes of the picture that can be downloaded. Unfortunately the max size is limited here. It does not give you an options to download the actual photos that was uploaded into Flickr.

Since the game was made way back in 2002 it does not support widescreen monitors which are common with todays gamers.

We found a way to force Warcraft to work in widescreen by changing a few values in the registry.

How to enable Warcraft 3 Widescreen mode

We will have to use a small Registry Edit to enable the widescreen mode. As always its recommended to backup your registry if you accidentally modify values not related to Warcraft. Just follow the guide and you should be fine.

Press Start and type regedit and press enter. (XP users need to go to Start > Run > type regedit)

You should see the Registry Editor opened. Now navigate to the values shown below

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Blizzard Entertainment >Warcraft III >Video

You should see the following screen.

Now before you make any changes, you need to know the screen resolution your computer is running at. Right click on your desktop and choose “Screen Resolution”. (Vista and XP users will find the same in “Display Properties”) Note down these values.

Change reswidth and resheight to the values that you noted down earlier.

Make sure you choose the DECIMAL option while changing the values.

Close Registry Editor and enjoy Warcraft 3 in widescreen.

How to Increase Warcraft 3 FPS

Do the same steps as above but change the value of lockfb to 0 (zero)

The maximum FPS that warcraft 3 gives no matter your computers hardware is 64 frames per second. If you feel the mouse is slower disable Vsync from your graphic cards control panel. Also note that if you check the video options in the game it will not show you the new values since the options doesnt exists. I recommend you dont check the video settings in game, if you do just cancel it.

Xtranormal is a text to movie service that allow you to make movies by just typing in text, choosing actors and emotions. Its really simple to use and comes as an online service as well as a downloadable desktop software known as State.

There are multiple actors to choose from as well as background sounds, expressions, camera directions and a host of other features. You can choose between a single actor or two actors speaking to each other. The online service is pretty basic and makes (what I felt) were low quality movies compared to the desktop client.

There is a lot to explore and honestly I did not take the time to test the service completely. I happened to see a few well made videos on Youtube that were made using this service and wanted to get the word out to my readers. There are tons of videos available on Xtranormal’s website as well.
