This is when Tag Tag comes handy. This website allows you to create one’s own WAP site by URL “tagtag.com/username“. This is then specified under section as specified by the user.
Tag Tag not only offers free WAP site creating, but also allows you to get much more mobile content like Ringtones, Pics, Games, Apps and more.
It is one stop destination to all the mobile user needs, including a small personal WAP site

When you want to grab all the latest news from social networking sites, browsing them through all is a tedious task. It can sometimes become so boring that you might leaving some sites, when you access it everyday.
Now access PopURLs and see difference. It gives you the list of most popular posts from the top social networking sites, in the form of links. It gives you a small summary of the links when your mouse rolls over a link.

It can be really popular, we see the content easy to find and read.
The best part is that you can personalize it the way you want it to look, and another best part is that it accepts OpenID, Facebook, Yahoo, Technorati, AOL Aim, and thus can login via any of these login ID’s
So you need not to create any further accounts and manage those, which gives a boost to a person to use it with ease.
Go ahead and give it a Try

We all know how to change a sound when window starts. But what if we want to create a Custom sound event. What if we like to add a sound whenever a program is opened? Just imagine how good it would be to add a sound whenever Firefox starts, After all sometimes it takes long to open.
To add a custom sound effect, you need to open your registry, and please do not forget to backup your registry before making any changes.

Go to Start –> Run, type Regedit

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps

Right Click on Apps, New –> Key

Name the key with the programs EXE file, like Firefox for Firefox, Winword for Office word, without the extension

Now on right pane, right click Default, and click Modify and type in the same application name

Right click on new key and create a new key, and name whatever you want to

Go to Control Panel –> Sounds and Audio devices –> Sounds, there you should be able to see the Custom sound event you added.

You can now assign any sound event you want to.
Do try it, an great tip to personalize your system more

As said on Orkut Blog, Currently they have launched 12 themes, out of which 10 are active, including the basic blue Orkut theme.
You will see a new tab in your “Edit Profile” option. You will also see a “Change Theme” link on top right, from here you can see and change theme.
All the changes you make is not restricted you only, but will be visible to all others.
After launch of Orkut Apps, this is again a step ahead by Google to attract more Indian visitors.

ShowIP is a Mozilla Firefox extension which shows the IP Address of the current page in status bar and allows queries to different databases about it when you right click on it. The IP is colored red for an IPv4 address and green for an IPv6 address, making a clear demarcation between the two. If you want to change these colors, it can be done as well from the options menu.

With a left click one can get information about the hostname of the current page. These queries are fully customizable in the settings dialog. You can also run custom local programs, which I think is the biggest advantage and the main reason I installed this Add-on.
It might not be useful to all, but all web developers out there, working for server and configuration side, this can be really useful about getting some deep information about a site.

It’s been more than a year now, I have been using Powerpoint 2007 to create presentations, All thanks to my college faculties for giving us presentations to be presented every week. During this one year, I have learned a lot on how to use the features in PowerPoint 2007, and what all features are there not available in earlier versions. I have listed down these points which will be helpful to you if you ever intend to give presentation anywhere.

SmartArt :- WOW, this is truly a Wow feature by Microsoft. SmartArt got great designs and shapes to be used. The good part is that you can change colors, give pre defined color combinations, which may suite your presentation theme and your topic. They also provide you designs for special purpose like Hierarchy, process, Chain reaction and few more… It completely eliminates the requirements for those drawing tool, used to draw those flow charts.

Formatting Images :- Basic formatting did exist in earlier versions, but was not very interactive. The new version is much better and provides some more better and required features. Changes made to the images can be seen live, as soon as you make any changes, you do not need to apply those changes to see the effect of it. Another feature provided is to disable the image compression which in turn increases the size of presentation but also the quality remains intact. To disable image compression Go to Image options (Appears when you insert and select an image) –> Compress images –> Options, and untick “Automatically perform Basic compression on save“. From there you can also set the density of the image as per the requirements. The only problem which I came to know later on was that you need to do this again and again, for different images, as it is not a permanent change.

Page Setup :- It is not possible to give a presentation in a single style on all the Projectors. According to the device you are presenting on, you need to change the page setup, hence getting the most of it. We cannot present the same presentation on Plasma and on a projector, as both have different aspect ratios. To select the proper page setup, Go to View tab –> Slide Master –>Page Setup. From here choose the correct setup you want to. You can have customized sizes as well.

Custom shows :- We are used to give long presentations in short duration, and leave the deep understanding part. You have to insert that data so that everyone could read that. One way is to put notes in each and every single slide, But in notes to, everything cannot be expressed. The other way is to create a complete slide and present a Custom show. How ? Just Go to Slide show tab –> Custom Slide, and choose the slides you want to show. Simple enough.

Rehearse Timings :- Timings are very important for us. If we go beyond those time limits, we are bound to get reduced marks. This rehearsal tool comes in handy, where in you can practice and see if your speech matches with the presentation and time allotted. You can also set the time for slides to switch automatically when you have rehearsed, and save that rehearsal. This is one of my favorite tools which I think was needed but the there was no alternative to that.

Apart from all these, In past , we have also talked about Creating Auto Run presentation using PPPCD, Customizing the Quick access toolbar, Do check them out.

These days I am busy with my Summer project, and I must say that, i might not be able to learn the Technical part of my studies, but I have learned quite a lot about Word 2007 which I use to create and generate reports. Here is a quick look at my 7 tips which I have started using them recently more often.

Changing page orientation :- In Word’s default settings, the width of pages is shorter than the length. To change this, Go to Page Setup –> Orientation, select the Landscape icon. You are done. You can even have Customized size from the Size box.

Printing selected portions of document :- Sometimes you would like to print certain portions of a document. To do this, first select the portion of the document you want a print out of. Go to the Office button –> Print. In the dialog box, check the Selection box. You can also define the Page range.

Applying Subscripts and Superscripts :- To apply Subscript formatting to text in a Word document, press Control + Equal Sign. To apply Superscript formatting, press Control + Shift + Plus Sign.

Checking the Thesaurus :- Sometimes while writing your document, you need a synonym for a word, and might have no time to log on to the Internet. Word has its own built-in thesaurus. To access it, select the word for which you need a synonym and press Shift-F7.

Changing the case of letters :- One of the annoying things that happen to me is that I press the Caps Lock key by mistake, and not even realize it. The result is that words that need to be in lower case end up capitalized or vice versa. To fix this, select the text and press Shift + F3 to change the case of the words. This is a toggle key that will allow you to choose between block capitals, title case and sentence case.

Return Font to Default format :- You are working on a document in a particular font. You use Bold or Italics, etc to change the format for a word or a phrase. Now to get back to the default font format you were working with, press Ctrl and the Spacebar together.

Moving paragraphs Up or Down :- To move a paragraph up in a Word file, select the paragraph and press Alt + Shift+ Up arrow. To move a paragraph down, select it, press Alt + Shift + Down arrow.

Hope these may be helpful for you in future. I have some tips on Powerpoint as well, so Stay Glued

Hello guys, It’s Readers Query time again. This time one of our reader, Anju, faced a problem of missing Boot.ini file. The computer was not able to boot because it was not able to find the proper location of the boot files, thus creating a problem. But for this simple reason, you cannot format your computer, and when you know its just a small file. What can then be done?
Usually when this file is deleted, it automatically rewrites a new file, and this booting the system. But in this case, it was not. Whats the solution then ?

Well, to this problem what can be done is booting XP from a external device, be it Floppy, Pen drive or even a Disk. You just need to copy the booting files into these devices, and all is then controlled by XP.
You need to have a second computer, in case your computer is down too. But if it is healthy and doing good, prepare a copy NOW !!!

Firstly format your device like Floppy, or Pen drive in a FAT File system, and then copy “ntldr” and “ntdetect.com” files from the i386 folder of XP disk. Then you need to copy your Boot.ini file to the drive to make it bootable.
If in case you need to write the whole code of this file, Follow this small tutorial for the same.
That’s it You can then boot your computer from any external device.

PhotoSynth is a new concept introduced by Microsoft, which in reality change the way one think and feels about photos. This new software takes large number of images, and look for similarities in these photographs, to create a complete 3 Dimensional look. This technology allows you to

Walk or fly through a scene to see photos from any angle

Seamlessly zoom in or out of a photo whether it’s megapixels or gigapixels in size

See where pictures were taken in relation to one another

Find similar photos to the one you’re currently viewing

Send a collection - or a particular view of one - to a friend

Microsoft actually achieves by symbolizing each and every structure by series of dots, and then these are matched with other images, so that they can be compiled together to give that look. Photosynth can also identify the depth at which picture is taken, because each and every camera has different aperture and zoom. You can walk into 3D as well, and the best part being you can zoom into it infinitely.
This can completely change the way the 3D world is today. You must at least once try it out. To view the PhotoSynth in action, you need to install the software from here.

Improve Your Images is an online tool, that just asks you to upload your images, and rest is done by the tool itself. The results you get are stunning. You might feel sometimes that, there might be something missing in the photograph, and it not coming that lively, But this free online tool does it, and I don’t know how, No information has been given on the site as to how it works.
All in all, it is not a Photoshop replacement, but results are very much satisfying, Do give it a try
