There is another cool tip by this you can run the linux operating system from your USB drive.So if you want to use the dual operating system in your PC or else in laptop, and you dont wish go with dual boot and you are annoying with the space related issues so don't worry there is a cool tip by this you can install and run Linux operating from your USB flash drive itself this is a Ubuntu live by this you can configure your wireless and you can use your internet or else you can do check the performance tuning with Linux. So by this we can reduce the space problem and other kind of stuff.
There are many linux flavours so are going to use the falavour of ubuntu with this for using this ubuntu we should have at least 1 gb pendrive.So lets see how we can install it in flash drive we can use it.
Step 1
Download the desktop 32 bit ubuntu ISO file installer and the universal USB installer from the internet.In this
the Ubuntu desktop installer for Operating setup and the USB installer for installing the ubuntu in the USB.

Step 2
Double click the USB installer and after accepting the licence aggrement select ubuntu 11.04 from the
drop down list box as shown in the picture below

Step 3
And after that click browse and select the path for the ISO image of the ubuntu operaing system which has been downloaded.

Step4
And if u want to select the particular drive letter for this USB drive then select the drive letter and check the we will format
dont forget to select the persistance file size as 0MB and click the create button

Step 5
And finally confirm the installation , after this the installation process for linux in the USB flash drive will be started.

Booting via Flash drive.
Before going to use the operating system in the Flash drive ensure that make the setting in the BIOS, that make the first boot device as removable disk and your USB must be 2.0 version or above.And then restart your system.And then you can move forward to use the operating system in flash drive.
Step 1 :
When the boot menu appears select the "RUN ubuntu from USB"
Step 2:
And then it prompts to the opening of Ubuntu and from here you can access the your system resources such as internet and so on.

Note:
While using the above trick you can just use the linux operating system you cant save anythings once the system gets restarted all the
the memory will be erased.So be carefull in saving the data.

So without installing the operating system in the laptop you can use cross operating system.Have Fun and enjoy

Most of you have came across the software which blocks the websites in your office or else in the restricted environment.For doing this there are more third party softwares available in the market most of them are paid and very few are free wares but when we move for free wares these will be less effective than paid ones.So most of them will prefer the paid one.In the very small company or in the home its very difficult to invest money in the paid one in this kind of situation we can make use of the windows inbuilt restriction. Actually there is no any such kind of facility provided by Microsoft but we are using this as a trick.This can be done by modifying the Host file

How it works
It is system file by editing this we can retrict the sites which is be to negleted.The information behind this is for example when you are browing the web page first it will search in the host file for the IP of the website if it not found then it will directly refer the DNS server so by this if we are going to provide some false IP for the website so the webpage cannot be diaplayed.So by this we can restrict what ever sites we want without any third party or freeware softwares. So lets see how to do this trick

1.Start ->run -> drivers and select etc and click on the host file

2.Or else Goto the the location c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

3.Open the file with a notepad and append the file below the 127.0.0.1 local host

4.Add the IP of your wish and the leave a space and the web address for example you want to restrict the orkut website means 127.0.0.2 www.orkut.com

5.Now the given webpage in the host file cannot be accessed.

Note:To edit the host file you need the admin right of the local system.

Some of you would have heard this word safe mode, If you don’t know safe mode this article would help you to know better. This is the console like thing for you operating system. Lets consider the scenario you have installed one software and its working fine and time later you faced some problem like you pc get hanged and it is occurring often so you want to find why this occurs. In this it’s very difficult to find the root cause for this problem so in this we don’t have any other option to check whether this problem has been occurred regarding that software so in this case we are only one way to find the solution is the safe mode.

Why SAFE MODE

The safe mode is the kernel or else another entry point for getting into the operating system. So the specialty this mode is no windows drivers and other media drivers will work and in this mode the operating system will run only with the very important files which is minimum enough to run the operating system. So I think the answer is very clear for the above scenario so if you don’t face any issue in your safe mode then you can confirm the problem is due to the new installed software or new application. Dont use same password
               For example you are having more than one account dont use the same password for all the thing,because if a person or hacker would found your password for one account he can access all your accounts so have the pool of passwords and use that from the pool so by this your password will be in memory and accordingly if anyone found one account password he may not access the all.
Dont keep the open minded security question

Few months back i have faced the problem that my OS has crashed at that time i dont have the os CD in my pouch too but i had it in the removable (ie)not the bootable one.So i suffered the lot due to this and after I bought the CD and then I installed the OS in my laptop at that time a question raised in me, why dont we can use our pendrive and load the OS i tried the lot to so do my it gave the failure in this after some tech forums guide me in this in this i am sharing my experience of making our pendrive the bootable one and by this we can load the operating system by using this.

Why can't in the Pendrive
The pendrive is the removabe media so by this we can use this for carring the data ,so what i think to do is copy the files from the OS cd and paste in the pendrive and do the installation it does'nt work. so for this we can do certain procedure by this you can do this easily.

Make pendrive bootable.

There is a freeware named make pendrive bootable you can download form the below link
Download.This will help you to make your pendrive as the bootable device.So this aplication
will install some bootable files to ensure that your removable device will also acts as the
bootable device.So after downloading the freeware connect your USB drive to your PC and
then execute the exe in your PC.After that the below window will appear in that select your
pendrive and click the button make bootable(Note : while doing this make sure that your pendrive may not be diconnected).And copy all the files from your OS cd and paste it in the USB drive.

After doing the above one your flash drive is now a bootable one.So after that you have do some changes in the bios settings.First restart your pc and go to the bios setup

.In this select the primary boot device (or) boot device as USB. Once you have done this change reboot your system and load the OS from your pendrive itself.

Note:

This make bootable will successfully on windows XP,98 and ME.

And before doing your flash drive bootable once make sure that your pendrive is not in FAT32 and NTFS file format because this make bootable will not support those file system so before going to proceed change your pendrive to the FAT(link) file system.

Understanding the concept of CDP.

It is the Layer 2 protocol which is only used in the cisco routers and switches. The CDP is known as cisco discovery protocol.As the name indicated discovery protocol this protocol is used to find the neighbour cisco devices.
This CDP information will be send to the entire network by using the layer 2 multicast and in this we can set the time period for the hold on timer and intervals if we don’t specify the time period the default time will be set.The default time for the CDP message interval is 60 seconds and hold on timer will be 180 seconds.This protocol is very useful to find the down link in the network by this the Route poisoning will be avoided.Lets consider an example the CDP information; will be send to the neighbour devices if the information will be received then the devices are connected in the network and the routing table will be updated if not it states that the devices are down so the routing table is updated as the link is down.

This can enabled and disabled by using the command. By default the CDP will be enabled if we want to disable that we can execute the commad.The CDP information we can viewed by the following command.
Command :

Router_2#show cdp

The interval timer and holdon timer can be set by using the following command
.Command:
Router_2#conf tEnter configuration commands, one per line.
End with CNTL/Z.
Router_2(config)#cdp timer 90
Router_2(config)#cdp holdtime 360

Though there are many security threats in enabling the CDP for this we can disable the CDP.Because the man in middle attack and the DOS attack can be occurred easily by using this protocol.For example if a hacker is in the network he can easily found the devices and componenets in the network and he can gain access and it may causes severe security threat.Because in the CDP protocol table it includes the interface number and device ID and holdon time and port ID. It can be disabled by using the following command.

Those who are using the windows 7 there is a great news Microsoft oficially going to release the SP1 for Window’s 7 and also for windows server 2008 R2.This is will be available for download from Microsoft by the month of July for public testing.But it is available now from many of the torrents.If you are using single computer it is advisable to update through windows update and it will notified as new update available.This update for Windows 7 and Windows 2008 server R2 is released with 796 bug fixes.And in this windows 2008 server R2 there are many new features included in this service pack as dynamic memory allocation for Hyper-V and Remote FX.

This dynamic memory will help to set the memory as dynamically and the feature of Remote FX is used for display enhanced rich media feature for virtual desktop (ie)you can experience the 3d feature in the virtual desktop itself and not only this there are many features included with this update.This update is coming with nearly 44 Mb to 1Gb according to installation method.

This is one of the coolest way to use the far computer or server in the network by using the remote desktop connection. This is feature which is inbuilt in the Windows XP version and also in servers. By this facility you can take the remote desktop without using any third party tools. To avail this first this is you have to activate the remote desktop connection in the system.
How to enable the remote desktop.

1.Right click on the My computer and go to properties and click on the remote tab.
2. In the remote assistance segment Check the option allow the remote assistance invitation to be sent from this computer.
3. And in the advanced tab select the time period.

4.In the remote desktop segment check the allow users to connect remotely to this computer and if you want to specify the users to access your computer via remote desktop select the users in the select remote users tab.
Note: Before activating the remote desktop connection disable the windows firewall(advice able).
If you cant able to take the remote session after enabling the remote desktop you should check where the remote desktop port status 3389 is open or not. Because mostly the port will close for security reasons.
If you are using the Broadband at your home if you want to remotely access your system by this you can’t able to take the remote desktop by this you have to use the third party software’s like.

A few decades back while trying to communicate and share the data with other computers they developed the concept of networking.In this they introduced Client server model. The difference between the client and the server is the client will send the request and the server will respond to it. Not only the above case, there is a separate operating for client and the server. The client server methodologies falls into the below categories
Centralized processing
In the centralized processing there is a Centralized server each and every request will be sent to the centralized server and the request will be processed and the in turn server will respond to the client.In this case more bandwidth will be utilized so they went for distributed procession.
Distributed processing
In distributed processing there will be distributed servers to handle each and every request .For example separate server for web application ,DHCP ,DNS ,ADS .In this methodology there are two classification

Peer to Peer
In the peer to peer computing all the system will be connected to each other there will not be dedicated server when the system responds to the request then it will acts as a server when it send the request that time it will acts as a client ( i.e.) each and every system will acts as a client server.
Client server
In this methodology there will be a server either it may be a Microsoft or Linux or else UNIX operating system server and each server will be having it own clients these servers will respond to their clients requests.

How to find the port status of the particular machine or a server wheather the port is open or not.It can be determined by using the third party software but with the third party software,but the question is how to find the status the port withour third party softwawre the answer for this question is obviouly yes.Without the third party installation we can find the port status of the particular machine by using the network protocol called telent.It is the protocol which is used to create a virual terminal connection in network.

The port number for this protocol is 23.Lets see how to find the port status
go to the particular machine open the command line.And type the fallowing command

telnet (machine ip) portno

In the above code the machine ip give the ip address of the machine which you want to find the port status and give the port number you want to find.

After executing this suddenly the comman prompt with fullof back will appear it seems that the port is open or else the error will appear it shows the port is in closed state.
