+Anil Anvesh All these days we are browsing internet through browsers. There are many browsers available on the web. Today we are sharing a simple tip using which you can surf internet without any browser.

Tip to Surf Internet Without any Browser:

1. Open Run, type calc and hit enter as shown in below pic. It opens windows calculator.

2. In calculator click on Help and then click on Help Topics as shown in below pic

3. In calculator help window right click on Title Bar and then click on Jump to URL as shown in below pic.

4. A small popup window appears on the screen as shown in below pic, where you have to enter the url which you want to surf.

5. Finally after entering url hit enter. The requested website will appear in the side window of calculator help window as shown in below pic.

Note: If you want to browse another website follow the above steps 3 and 4. Type the full website address including http://

A Jammer Blocks or jams mobiles from receiving signals from base station. Jammers are of different sizes. Small hand held jammer blocks all bands within 9 meters range and larger jammer blocks mobile communication within 9kms/5miles. Small Jammer uses battery of mobile and large has to be charged. Jammer blocks not only calls but also internet, messaging and even emergency calls.

How Cell Jammer Works?

Jammers can work by either disrupting phone to tower frequencies or tower to phone frequencies. Jammer generally blocks signals coming from base station or cell tower because towers are placed far away and signals coming from that tower will have less frequency. Jammer sends radio waves along with same frequency that mobile uses causing enough interference with the communication between cell phones and towers making mobile unusable. Simply to say "Jammers block signal frequency by transmitting relatively high power signals (noise) on the same frequency. Because of this high power, a cell phone can’t identify the signal from tower and it keeps searching for signals".

Used - at places of worship, library to maintain silence, in Parliament to avoid disturbances and to prevent leakage of information, in Army to block calls by criminals and terrorists and in schools and colleges to blocks calls of students.

What is Bluejacking?

Bluejacking, a hacking method by which an individual can send bulk messages to Bluetooth enabled devices with in certain radius(normally the range of Bluetooth is 10metres for mobile phones but for laptops it is 100metres with intense transmission) without pairing.

This doesn't involve any hijacking as in the name. Bluejacker can only send unsought messages. Hijacking doesn't actually occur here because the attacker will not govern the victim's device. At worst, Bluejacking is a vexation.

How Bluejacking can be done?

This is very simple and is explained below:
1). Select an area with plenty of mobile users.
2). Go to contacts in your address book. Create a new contact.
3). Enter the message you want to send in the name part. Save the new contact.

4). Choose send via bluetooth.

5). Then it searches for any Bluetooth enabled device with in the range.

6). Choose one phone and send the contact.
7). You will get message like in below picture showing message is sent.

Bluejacking can be prevented by setting a device in hidden, invisible or non-discoverable mode. However through this Bluejacking we don't have any harm to data in our phone. But there are certain techniques which will look quite similar to Bluejacking and can gain control over the data in our phones. Bluesnarfing and Bluebugging however are the actual attacks that may result in user loosing control on his device. These techniques will be explained in coming posts.

Format Removable Disk from Command Prompt

Usually we format removable disks like pendrive and external HDD from windows interface by just right clicking on the disk and selecting format option as shown in below pic.

If your system is infected with virus sometimes it won't allow to format your removable disks by simply disabling right click on it. In such cases you can format your removable disks like pendrive and HDD from command prompt. Just follow below steps.

Step 1:
Open Run, Type cmd and hit enter.

Step 2:

In command prompt type format Drive Name: as shown below

Step 3:

It verifies for the contents of the disk.

After verifying it asks for the volume label as below.

Step 4:

Type the name of the volume or drive you want to format and press enter.

Step 5:
Now format has been completed.It shows the status as format complete with space available on disk.

In a world where alternative energy sources became very pivotal to preserve the ecosystem that have been cherishing us, one of the most serviceable technologies is the fuel cell.

what is fuel cell?
A fuel cell is a device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy, water, and heat through electro-chemical reactions. In the below picture you can see the fuel cell battery.

Fuel cell technology:
Every single fuel cell has two electrodes an anode and cathode basically. The reactions that take place between the two electrodes are the one which produce electricity in the end. Hydrogen is the fuel used but for the reactions to occur the cells also need oxygen. The below picture shows the reaction taking place in fuel cell.

No harm done to environment: One very interesting and positive aspect of fuel cells is that they manage to produce electricity with out polluting the environment, and that’s because hydrogen and oxygen – needed in the reaction combine to produce a neutral byproduct, which is water.

Fuel cell in car:

Single fuel cell will produce energy which is scanty. So, in order to produce a usable amount of energy lot of fuel cells are combined and the energy generated from this can fuel a car.

Fuel cell technology in smart phones and tablets: The fuel cell comes with a USB port and is the size of a thicker smartphone. The power comes from the cartridges filled with lighter fluid. Pretty ingenious. The below picture shows the fuel cell battery charger:

Though fuel cell technology Seems to be very small but the idea in it is very useful as it is environmental friendly. Certainly this type of technology will pave it's way to smart environment in future.

Every PC has a manufacture date. You can check your PC's manufacture by 2 simple commands, Just follow below steps.

Step 1:
Go to start menu. Click on Run. A dialog box will appear, in that type cmd to open Command prompt.

Step 2:
In command prompt type Debug as shown in below pic and hit enter.

Step 3:
After hitting enter the pointer will blink in the next line as shown above then type DF000:FFF5 as shown below pic and hit enter.

That's it the manufactured date of your PC appears as in the below pic. In my case it is 04/25/11.

What if it is turn off and there is no previous point from which you can restore? There is no option other than to repair or format the PC.

1) When file cant be opened windows will display error message like shown. In that click on Select the program from a list and click OK.

2) Next click on Browse

3) In this step goto C:/Windows/system32 and select cmd.exe

4) Select Windows Command Processor and then click OK

5) Run following commands in Command Processor
assoc.exe=exefile
assoc.lnk=lnkfile
assoc.reg=regfile

After this restart your PC and check if you can open all the files, applications or not. If your system is infected with virus these commands wont work. At this time run the following command

regedit

Press enter. You will get a registry window, as below.

Go to file>>import

Registry fixes can be imported as shown

6) Select linkfile_fix and click Open. Finally restart your PC

3. In the next windows select Output File where you want to save the image file, Output format to Standard ISO image file and finally click on ok as shown in below pic. It takes sometime to create ISO image.

How to create bootable USB drive from an ISO image?

First download and install Windows7 USB/DVD TOOL from here. If prompted install .Net frame work.
After installation Launch the tool.
In the SOURCE FILE box, type the name and path of your Windows 7 ISO file, or click BROWSE and select the file from the OPEN dialog box. Click NEXT.

4. Select USB DEVICE to create a copy on a USB flash drive or select DVD disk to create a copy on a DVD disk.

5. If you are copying the file to a USB flash drive, select your USB device in the drop-down list and click BEGIN COPYING. If you are copying the file up to a DVD, click BEGIN BURNING.

6. That's your bootable USB or DVD drive is ready.

Recently I bought a domain and hosting from Dreamhost. I linked my blogspot blog to the new domain. In this post we will see how to link your blogspot blog to a domain.

Steps to link blogger blog to a Custom Domain

1. First you need to change the CNAME. Go to your domain or hosting site, login to your account. Click on the domain you purchased and then click on DNS. Next in the Name Server type ghs.google.com

2. Next we need to change A records. Enter www in Name field. Since blogger blog is hosted by google you need to enter google IP addresses. Under A record there will be a field called Value enter following google IPs and create 4 different A records and then save.

While browsing the web sometimes you may come across some beautiful images which you want to keep as profile pic in your social accounts like facebook or twitter or google+. Sometimes you want to use the pic in your blog or website post. But unfortunately that pic or image has watermark .

A watermark is any recognizable text, logo or pattern that appears over an image to identify the owner of the image and generally used to prevent unauthorized reuse of the image. Watermarks are usually transparent and can be difficult to remove. The difficulty or ease of watermark depends on the content of the image and the position, color, size etc of the watermark. How to remove that watermark? Here comes the tip to remove watermark from images or pics.

Using Online Image Editor

#Step 1- Go to Pixlr Editor This is a free online image editor. You can upload images from your computer, create new images or specify the URL of the image you wish to edit. Choose either to "Open an Image from your Computer" or "Open Image from URL." Browse to your desired image or type in the URL of the image's location.

# Step 2 - Select the Clone Stamp Tool from the toolbox at the left of the screen as shown in below pic. The tool looks like a small stamp with an arrow in it and is located beside a pencil. You can also press "S" to select the tool.

#Step 3 - Select an area of the image that is comparable to any portion of the watermark you need to remove. For instance, if part of the watermark is on a dark green area of the image, choose a portion of the image that's roughly the same color as source point. The Clone Stamp Tool needs a comparable source point to replace the watermark with the colors from the source. Press "Ctrl" and left-click with your mouse when you have a source point.

#Step 4 - Position the center of the Clone Stamp Tool over the area of the watermark you wish to replace with the source point. Left click once to begin painting over the area. You may need to repeat the process two or three times to completely remove each portion of the watermark.

#Step 5 - Zoom in on your image using the Zoom Tool that looks like a magnifying glass. This will allow you to see if you've successfully removed all of the watermark. If you haven't, you can still use the Clone Stamp Tool while zoomed in to finish the removal process

Using Photoshop CS5

The new iteration of Photoshop, Creative Suite 5 or CS5 in short, includes some handy tools that really helps in removing watermarks. It’s called Content Aware Fill. For our example we will use an image from iStockPhoto and try to remove the watermark right across the face of the image.

Open the image in Photoshop CS5, and select the “Spot Healing Brush Tool” from the toolbar. You can also press J to select it.

Select the option Content Aware Fill on the toolbar at the top.

Press [ or ] to increase or decrease the size of the brush as required, and carefully paint it over the watermark.

Release it, and the line is gone.

If the result is unsatisfactory, undo it or go back in History and repeat. Use the smallest brush size as possible to get good results.

For larger areas we will use the lasso tool. Select the watermark to remove using the Lasso Tool (L). Notice that I selected only a part of the watermark. This is because the image behind the watermark is not uniform. To get the best results work with small areas of the watermark. In this example, I left out the horn of the skull since it has a different texture.

Now press D. Make sure “Content Aware” is selected under “Use” and press OK.

Remember, you can always undo and repeat the steps. Here is the final result with the complete watermark removed. Not perfect but passable.

OCR(Optical Character Recognition) is used to convert images or scanned copies of books into editable text. There are many free OCR(optical character recognition) tools available in online. Following are few free OCR tools.

Part1: Online OCR software

Online OCR software is available through the web browser and you don’t have to install new software on your computer. All you need is to get the image file using scanner or a digital photo camera, upload it through the online OCR web page and wait for the processed file to download.

1. Google Docs

If you have a Gmail or other Google account you might tryGoogle Docs first. Google Docs is not a dedicated OCR tool but it provides the OCR power Google uses to digitize books and process PDFs for their search engine.

To get text from image or PDF files you need to first upload and convert the files to Google Docs. Then you can do the further editing online or/and download it back as PDF, DOC, TXT etc.

In Google Docs to upload the files first you need to click Upload button, select Settings from the menu and check ‘Convert uploaded files to Google docs format’ and ‘Convert text from uploaded PDF and images files’ and then click Upload/Files.Another way is to check ‘Confirm settings before each upload’after clicking Upload/Settings so that every time you upload a file it is asked whether you want to convert the file or leave it intact. This gives also an option to select which language dictionary will be used in the text recognition process. The file is therefore converted to Google Docs document having both original image(s) and converted text in it. You can review the text and delete the original images afterwards.

Google Docs conversion works pretty good, especially with English texts. Over 30 different languages can be selected but if your language is not included in the list, the conversion may give an error and the file will not be processed. Of course – if you don’t have a Google account you can create one any time.

Part2: Desktop OCR software

Desktop software you need to download and install to your computer, and they usually have more configurable options than online tools. Some programs include the ability to acquire image directly from a scanner so you don’t need to use other programs to do that.

The following OCR software will be reviewed: Cuneiform, OpenOCR, FreeOCR, gImageReader, Puma.NET and SimpleOCR. There are some more free tools available, which are mainly meant for more specific tasks. JOCR is for getting text from screenshots, requires Microsoft Office 2003 or later to be installed and has been previously reviewed here. Also there is Nuance PDF Reader that is able to upload scanned PDFs to its online service for character recognition. Nuance PDF Reader is previously reviewed here. And finally, there is MyMorph, a program intended for converting document archive files from one format to another, like TIFF, PDF, RTF etc. MyMorph is able to convert image files to editable text files.
