There are some WordPress plugins to enable this re-direction viz., <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feedburner-plugin/" target="_blank">FD FeedBurner Plugin</a>, <a href="http://www.google.com/support/feedburner/bin/answer.py?hl=en&amp;answer=78483" target="_blank">FeedBurner FeedSmith</a>, etc. But why use a plugin when you can do the same set of things without it? Yes, in this article we will talk about<strong> how to re-direct WordPress Feeds to Feedburner Feeds without a plugin but with <em>.htaccess</em> file.</strong></div>

<h2>How to re-direct WordPress feeds to Feedburner through .htaccess file?</h2>
<div><strong>1.</strong> Open <em>.htaccess</em> file which is located in the same folder where the <em>wp-config.php</em> is located (Note: If you&#8217;re accessing your blog directory through FTP, remember to enable &#8216;Show hidden files&#8217;).</div>
<div><strong>2.</strong> Paste the following code in your <em>.htaccess</em> file and save it.</div>

In his opinion, this was the cheapest way to backup all his hard drive data since the monthly costs of most of the web hosts are in the range of $3.95 to $7.95. In addition to this, most of these web hosts provide unlimited storage and bandwidth transfer along with heavy discounts on the base hosting prices.</p>
<p>My conversation with this friend of mine made me realize that it’s not only him, there might be many other people out there who shall be thinking on the same lines– use a web hosting space to store and backup personal data. And with the help of <a href="http://personalweb.about.com/od/ftpfileuploadprograms/a/01ftp.htm">FTP (File Transfer Protocol)</a>, it would be quite easy too to manage the stored data.</p>
<p>However, hold on if you too are planning to do the same. Storing your personal data on to a web hosting space  runs you into a huge risk of losing it! The terms and conditions of all the web hosts prohibit the use of hosting space as data storage and backup drive. Even if a user does so, the web host reserves the right to delete all the user’s personal data and/or terminate your account without any prior intimation.</p>
<p>This is what the Terms and Conditions of two of the major web hosting companies clearly specify:</p>

Needless to mention that Google Adsense is the primary source of revenues for content-driven web pages like blogs and knowledge portals.</p>
<p>I created my first Google Adsense monetized website in the year 2005 and till this date, I firmly believe that if you want to start a blog or a knowledge portal, always make a balanced choice -<strong> (a)</strong> choose the topic that  interests you the most and you have a certain level of expertise in it <strong>(b)</strong> check out the &#8216;revenue-generation&#8217; potential of that topic. Money will gradually follow then!</p>

Long gone are those days when there existed just a few hundred thousand blogs and the probability of a blog picking up were amazingly high. Blogospehere today is exploding with millions and millions of blogs and if you are a beginner, you ought to be prepared for a tough road ahead. Having said that, I would like to stress that blogging is still an exciting and lucrative choice no matter you want to take it up as a career or just as one of your part-time interests.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re a newbie blogger, following are the <strong>5 simple tips that shall help you sail through the initial phase of blogging</strong>:</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Read a lot</strong> &#8211; They rightly say that &#8220;<em>Man should always wear on a learning cap</em>&#8220;. You might be an expert of the topic you have started to blog about but there is always more to learn from others. So, read a lot on the topic you are blogging about. If yours is a tech blog, read a lot of tech articles and stories. If it&#8217;s a blog on travelling, read a lot of blogs which talk of travelling tips, destinations, etc. And not only that. Read books and interact with people related to your topic of blogging. Reading a lot never lets you stay short of ideas. Based on your reading, you shall be able  to connect to new ideas and blog about them, stay updated on your blog topic and interact with different people.</li>
<li><strong>Keep things simple</strong> &#8211; No matter how vast your vocabulary is, no matter how many jargons you know, no matter how much expertise you have in your area of blogging, it all drills down to one thing &#8211; are you able to simplify things? No one likes to read an article stuffed with vocabulary or an article written in a way as if it&#8217;s a doctorate thesis &#8211; it does no good except making it difficult for your readers to understand what you have written. <em>You&#8217;re not an expert of a topic if you just know all aspects of it; you&#8217;re an expert if you are able to make your readers understand what you know and let your writing make a place in their </em><em>minds</em>. And for that, you need to simplify your blog content.</li>
<li><strong>It&#8217;s always Content+Quality</strong> &#8211; Yeah, I know this might make things look a bit different for you. In all these years that have passed by, you have always been told that what matters is quality and not quantity. I would say that no longer this is completely true! In a highly competitive blogging space, there are millions of other blogs out there similar to yours. And if you don&#8217;t publish content, someone else might and you might loose your readership. Super-successful blogs like gigaom.com, techcrunch.com, mashable.com publish more than 5 articles a day. The point to be noted over here is not that you&#8217;ve to post atleast 5 articles a day but that people love to read loads of good content. If not at your blog, then on others. So, strive to strike a balance between quality and quantity.</li>
<li><strong>Build a community around your blog</strong> &#8211; Don&#8217;t just keep publishing posts. Engage your blog visitors. This can be done by replying to comments of your readers, actively interacting with your fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter respectively, crediting commentators in your blog posts, inviting feedback and suggestions, writing posts in first person (using &#8220;I&#8221; instead of &#8216;we&#8217;), etc.</li>
<li><strong><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-483" title="blogging-requires-passion-and-perseverance-techlisher" src="http://www.techlisher.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/blogging-requires-passion-and-perseverance-techlisher.jpg" alt="Blogging Requires Passion and Perseverance-Techlisher" width="240" height="180" />Patience and Perseverance</strong> &#8211; This one of the most important tips I have to share. Blogging is undoubtedly a space where you can carve out a name for yourself and make a living. But remember, that won&#8217;t happen in a fortnight or in 2-3 months. I have seen many bloggers who start out blogging with amazing enthusiasm but then slowly that enthusiasm and zeal dries down when they see that not enough visitors are coming to their blog. The frequency of publishing content daily shifts to weekly,  then monthly and finally the blog dies down. This typically happens because newbie bloggers don&#8217;t set their expectations right &#8211; they assume that right from day 1 or week 1, their blogs will be experience enormous traffic and they will be succesful. When you&#8217;re a beginner in the blogging space, remember to see the distant picture &#8211; keep publishing the content without worrying about the traffic and money over a period of 6-12 months. Patience and Perseverance are sure shot keys to  success in blogging.</li>
