Ecommerce web hosting is a specialized web hosting package to meet the needs of online retailers. A good package will include all the tools and services you need to successfully grow an online business. There are several important factors to take into account when choosing an ecommerce service, so make sure you do plenty of research and choose the right package that fits your needs.

If you are new to online business, you will especially want to understand the ecommerce hosting packages available, and which one will be best for your needs. The following information will should help you make a more informed decision when it comes to selecting the right ecommerce service for you.

What are your expected sales?

The package you choose will depend greatly on the scale of your ecommerce operations. Some ecommerce hosting services place a limit on the number of transactions which you can process in any given month, and going over this limit may lead to additional charges on your hosting account. Be sure to forecast your monthly sales expectations and ensure that your ecommerce hosting plan will support the volume of your business.

Know your Budget

The next step is to understand how much your business can afford to spend on an ecommerce hosting service. The price of web hosting services can vary greatly, so do some research and make sure that you choose a package which represents good value for your ecommerce operation. One important thing to remember is that ecommerce hosting accounts are generally more expensive than standard hosting; this is because of the extra services which are usually included such as shopping carts and online billing software.
Some providers will offer a limited, free trial period for their ecommerce web hosting services. This is a great way to try out a new provider and save money.

Specialized Merchant Services

Most ecommerce hosting packages include a variety of special services to be used with your hosting account. In addition to a shopping cart feature, which will save and total your customers’ purchases, you will also need some kind of payment system to process their orders and accept their payments to your business. Many ecommerce hosting providers offer specialized services such as credit card processing, these may be part of the hosting package or can be added at an additional charge.

Ease of Use

Find an ecommerce host with a simple and easy to use control panel. It is important that your web hosting service is not too technical and can be easily configured to meet your needs. Do some research and find out which providers offer user-friendly interfaces for their ecommerce hosting services.

Ask an Expert for Help

Choosing an ecommerce hosting plan need not be difficult and finding a provider who meets your business needs should be a priority for any online business owner. Always look for recommendations or ask friends in the business to advise you on which ecommerce hosting services they would recommend.

Finding the right logo designer for your specific needs isn’t always easy. With so many designers on the market, how do you know which one is right for your requirements? There are several important factors to consider when choosing a logo designer, including experience, qualifications, design process, recommendations and sample work. Selecting the right designer to create a logo for your business is an important task for any business. Your logo represents your brand and communicates with your customers, so make sure you take your time and choose carefully.

Experience

When choosing a logo designer find out how long they have been in the business. Explore how much experience they have of similar projects and how successful their results have been. Although experience can’t guarantee the quality of the designer’s future work, it’s a pretty good indicator.

Qualifications

The next thing to pay attention to is the designer’s qualifications. Did they qualify as a graphic designer from a reputable college? Have they won any awards or prizes? A high quality logo designer will have a wide range of documented skills and achievements, so find out more about the designers background before committing to the project.

A Good Design Process

Ask your potential logo designer how much time they will spend on idea generation and the design process. It is important that they are willing to spend as much time as possible, considering alternative logo themes and designs, before embarking on the final logo design. Only with a thoughtful and creative designer will you be able to achieve the best possible design for your business. A well-planned design process is a good indicator of the quality of work which will be produced.

Recommendations

Another great way to find a credible and trustworthy logo designer is to seek out recommendations from friends and co-workers. Further, many designers will include testimonials from reputable sources on their websites. Reputation is a great indicator of the quality of service you will receive from a logo designer.

Sample Work

Taking a look at sample work from a logo designer can be a useful way of deciding if a particular designer is suitable for your needs. Does their portfolio of past work reflect the kind of quality you need in a logo? Does the designer’s style fit well with the brand image you are trying to communicate? Look for signs of flexibility and creativity in solving designs problems, both of which are the hallmarks of a great logo designer.

Value for Money

For many businesses this will be the most important factor to take into consideration when choosing a logo designer. However, it is important to remember that designers range from very cheap to very expensive, and price is often an indicator of the quality of their work. You should always remember to look for the best value designer you can afford, taking into consideration the other factors when choosing a designer. Remember, a designer who spends time and resources to create ideas and design alternatives will spend more time, and definitely be more expensive. The results produced by a high quality logo designer will be worth the investment, and you will end up with a logo which you can use for years to come.

That’s because an update to Microsoft’s security software Security Essentials and Forefront, which has mistakenly been given the two programs to perceive Google.com as a site with malware, writes security expert Brian Krebs’s blog.

The update was sent out to users on Tuesday as part of Microsoft’s usual patch tuesday .

Brian Krebs updated even a Windows XP machine to see if there were teams in the first reports of the problem.

Microsoft Tuesday released an update that should have corrected the error.

Contrary to Apple’s rules, Google and several other companies slipped around the settings in the Apple Safari browser, which normally blocks the monitoring of users on the network.
This means that Google has been able to track people’s Internet habits and use that knowledge to serve them targeted advertisements.

This kind is usually blocked in the default settings for the Safari browser used on the popular Apple products like Macs and iPhones.

Google has now removed the code that makes it possible to escape the Safari settings, writes the Wall Street Journal. Google’s code for this purpose was discovered by a researcher at Stanford University, Jonathan Mayer.

Google: newspapers are on the wrong track

However, Google believes that the American newspaper has misunderstood the matter:

“The Wall Street Journal comes with an incorrect interpretation of what happened and why. We use the known Safari functionality to offer functionality that Google users who are logged in, have enabled. It is important to emphasize that these advertising cookies do not collect personal information, “Google wrote in a statement to the Wall Street Journal.

A spokesperson from Apple told the newspaper that the company continues to work to stop the companies that circumvent Safari’s privacy settings.

Video conferancing systems all look fairly similar, when the entire set up is a camera and a monitor you could be forgiven for thinking there isn’t much variety. It would make sense to think then that picking a video conferencing system would be a breeze but, in actual fact, this is far from the truth. With the number of suppliers, all with wildly different claims on quality and price, choosing the correct set-up can actually be a bit of headache.

There are a few things to contemplate before implementing your video conferencing system that could have serious ramifications for your venture. Here are 4 main questions you will want to consider before choosing the right video conferencing system for you.

Is it HD?

Video conferencing has come a long way since it was first attempted in Germany during World War 2 using mechanical televisions with poor resolution; and it is exactly this improvement in resolution that has made video conferencing so popular today. HD video conferencing will make text on reports readable when held up to the camera or product demonstrations during the conference crystal clear. There is also better scope for gauging body language with a clear picture; you don’t want to have an innocent hand gesture misinterpreted by clients, customers or your boss.

Will it integrate with other products I already have?

If you are already in possession of software such as Microsoft Lync, previously Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), having your video conferencing system integrate with this software will be cost effective so it is worth checking this out. Also, by integrating your set-up with software, you will have access to a number of functions that would be absent from the basic software provided with the technology; making your set-up more useful at no extra cost.

Is it Reliable?

There is no point in having a video conference system if it is buggy and error prone. Look out for systems that have Adaptive Motion Control and Forward Error Correction. These two functions can predict various problems that may occur during your video conference and make behind the scenes adjustments accordingly; making sure you are unlikely to loose connection midway through a conference.

Is it Easy to Use?

Ease of use is vital. Video conferencing is all about efficiency, if every conference is a battle with an awkward keyboard set-up and vague instruction manual there is no point in having the system at all. Think about how long it will take a new member of staff to learn how to operate the system? Will members of staff avoid using it if it is cumbersome? Make sure you consider this before purchasing.

It will soon end production of mobile phones from Nokia in Finland, where the entire Finnish mobile adventure began. Nokia has just announced that all production is concentrated in Asia, which means that the company’s production facilities in Finland, Hungary and Mexico no longer has to produce mobile phones. 4,000 people lose their jobs, according to Nokia in a statement. The three plants will be required to produce customized phones in certain markets – primarily in Europe and North and South America.

According to Nokia, the decision to move production to Asia a desire to become more competitive in the market for not less than smartphones, which for example Apple’s iPhone has recently gained significant market share. But Nokia is also challenged by manufacturers who base their smartphones on Google’s operating system Android. Nokia has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Microsoft to use Microsoft’s mobile operating system for Nokia smartphones.

“By moving production to Asia, we improve our time-to-market . By working more closely with our suppliers, we believe that we can bring innovative products to market faster and more competitive, “says marketing director of Nokia Niklas Savander in a Communication on restructuring.

The 4,000 employees, now fired, can be added to any 10,000 employees, mobile phone manufacturer fired last year. Nokia still has over 100,000 employees.

Calculating employee taxable benefits and Class 1A NIC’s accurately and efficiently is an important aspect of any business. P11D software can complete these chores quickly and efficiently. While larger corporations have been using P11D softwarefor a long time it is now affordable enough to be used by small to medium sized businesses. Below are five reasons P11D software may be of use to your business.

P11D software improves efficiency by making the payroll process more streamlined. The software can make individual tax calculations for your entire staff in a few mouse clicks; manually this would require several spreadsheets and hours of effort. By eliminating the need for all this manual entry, the risk of error is also reduced; making run-ins with the taxman over misleading payments less of a worry.

P11D software offers a variety of methods of forwarding data. You can submit your tax information to the relevant authorities by paper, disc or electronically. Web-based interaction with external agencies is also possible with P11D software.

“Canned Reports” available within the software make report building a breeze. All the information required to summarise your monthly/quarterly accounts is stored by the software and presented in a template report at scheduled times. The report templates are customizable though, so don’t worry if you want to add a unique flair to your reports, the opportunity is there.

Tax forms also have customizable templates within the software, so there is no need to have store cupboards filled with reams of empty forms. Having the ability to print off your forms, when required, saves resources, storage and money whilst being more environmentally friendly.

If you own more than one small business you can use a single P11D application for all of them. The software licence does not restrict the number of business it is used with.

P11D small business software increases productivity by streamlining the accounts process within your business; giving your business more time to attract new customers.

Using one uniform ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system can allow different departments within one company to communicate without confusion. When Human resources, the accounting department and the main office staff are all using different systems and software, time will be wasted and productivity harmed.

ERP systems work by allowing each department access to a common database. Each department also has its own ‘module’ to access the database with. Even though the various departments throughout the company will be performing different roles the modules are designed to function, and look, the same way. This makes transferring data from one part of the business to another simpler and more streamlined.

A massive advantage to having all departments operate through one ERP system is a reduction in duplicate information. When each department can access and retrieve data from a common database information only needs to be entered once. By avoiding a situation where one department has to transfer another department’s data into their own system, response times improve. This extra efficiency filters right through the company and eventually improves response time to customers; allowing opportunities for the company to take on extra business.

ERP systems can also incorporate your external vendors. This improves response time in the supply chain and even more efficiency is produced.

There are a couple of things to bear in mind, however, when taking on an ERP system. ERP can be initially expensive in both technology and training.

Full ERP training is vital and departments who have been used to doing things a certian way may find it difficult to adapt to a complete system overhaul. It is also worth remembering that not every department in a business operates in the same way. So, despite making everything uniform, each department’s ERP module may need some individual tweaks.

ERPs are usually technologically advanced pieces of software. Your business will need a sufficient technological infrastructure if it is to operate the software at maximum efficiency. It also helps to have staff on hand that can deal with any technical issues the software may have. ERP systems are generally reliable but having someone on board should there be a problem provides piece of mind. That said, this sort of tech help can be outsourced.

Overall ERP systems are of significant worth to a growing business. So by making sure your company is ready to implement an ERP system you are taking the first step towards more efficient, cost effective and profitable business.
