The most popular Christmas gift this holiday season and top-selling music player is Microsoft’s Zune. This is the Hot Item in Amazon’s where it is the “Bestsellers in Electronics” and beats its competitor Apples’ new iPod Nano and the 80GB iPod in term of sales.

A report by the Associated Press says there’s a shortage of new Zune media players on the web and in retail stores. Apparently, the new 80GB Zune player has sold out everywhere…

The first-generation Zune players sales are continuing to rise due to their heavily discounted prices? Compare to 4GB iPod Nano that cost $135 and a 30GB Zune for $134. The big discount is crazy and i wouldn’t pass this deal. I rather have a 30GB than a 4GB music player.

Is Microsoft’s Zune Still Fails against Apple’s iPod? oh well it’s picking up and since more consumers going the bait of the discounts of Zune, theres more users will have the opportunity and feel of Zune and the consumer will realize that the other competitor has still the value same as the iPod. This competition is a good thing for the consumers, the two big companies (Microsoft and Apple) vying for the top spot in the music player industry will put more value and innovations which is the best product and of course who is more cheaper and innovative product.

This will also drag the expensive prices of iPod to a more cheaper price that the music lover in the Philippines will surely love. When the prices down this items - iPod and Zune will not be a luxury items in the Philippines but will be more of a commodity like the mobile phones. Philippines is the Capital SMS or text in the world, will this bring the Philippines as the next Capital of music players? Filipinos just love music as everywhere theres a music box or karaoke box.

If this discount continues next year, i will probably get my own copy of Zune.

Myself is a fan and user of Apple’s iPod 80GB Video.

RoughlyDrafted has an article Why Microsoft’s Zune is Still Failing.

Microsoft failed miserably making Zune as a valuable product to consumer or have the value image of having this product makes you more cool. Apple still has the competitive edge and still maintining their share of the market.

Initially the electronics experts were modifying the tool of photography, that included the printers as well. Then it moved on to cell phones, ringtones and memories. Now we are on to home theater systems.

The Voice over IP (VoIP) saves us from the over expensive traditional phone service. VoIP give us more oppurtunities to call abroad cheaply. This new way communication promises more benefits. As number of phone service provider is moving to an IP network infrastructure to cost savings on equipments, but they don’t see the seriousness of VoIP threats as exposed by a UK-based VoIP expert, Peter Cox, who co-founded and was CTO of firewall vendor BorderWare.

Here’s the 10 minute podcast of Peter Cox, as he demonstrate the worst-case nightmares of VoIP vulnerabilities and released a proof-of-concept program to show how easy it would be for criminals to eavesdrop on the VoIP-based phone calls of any company using the technology.

Called SIPtap, the software is able to monitor multiple Voice-over-IP (VoIP) call streams, listening in and recording them for remote inspection as .wav files. All that the criminal would need would be to infect a single PC inside the network with a Trojan incorporating these functions, although the hack would work at ISP level as well.

Thought of using VoIP as far more safer than the traditional digital land lines from wire-tapping? This VoIP proof-of-concept hacks scares me and the rest of the world who gives priority about security and their privacy. I don’t want anyone lurking in my network sniffing my calls.

Ain’t you also scared?

Just like ringtones are a mere byline of cell phones, tools like printers and scanners are also just to go with photography.

I just upgraded some of my blogs from 2.1.x and 2.2.x to latest wordpress version 2.3.1. I have noticed that the Wordpress Dashboard “Incoming Links” at the sidebar has been replaced from Technorati to Google Blog Search.

Maybe the Wordpress Developer is not happy where Technorati is going. The Technorati search results is not that good and it’s losing against Google in Blog Search results. As of this writing the search results of Google returns are far more superior compare to Technorati. When i try searching same keyword in Google Blog Search and Technorati, the SERPs of Google Blog Search has more results and relevance against Technorati search.

One good thing i like about Technorati is the idea of authority and the numbers of backlinks linking to your blogs but this past months Technorati’s servers are down or broken. It can’t crawl all the blogs and can’t compute all the linkings between blogs in blogosphere. In this niche of weblog search engine the Google find a hole to compete against Technorati as Google Blog Search overtakes Technorati.

The blogosphere authoritativeness is mostly based on Technorati Authority algorithm. Like Ratified.org of Andrew where it uses Technorati as one of the bases or factors who’s the Top 100 Blogs in Philippine Blogosphere. If technorati losses eventually to Google Blog Search i wonder other site that ranks Blogs will also change their algorithm. Is there will be a Google Blog Search Authority?

Honestly i like more the results of Google Blog Search compare to Technorati.

Is Technorati Losing ground?

After Breaking Open Facebook with Free Open Source Software, TechCrunch reports Google plans to announce an open API for social networking tomorrow. “OpenSocial is a set of three common APIs, defined by Google with input from partners, that allow developers to access core functions and information at social networks: 1) Profile Information (user data) 2) Friends Information (social graph) and 3) Activities (things that happen, News Feed type stuff)” Says Om Malik: “OpenSocial attacks Facebook where it is the weakest (and the strongest): its quintessential closed nature…Even if you take Facebook out of the equation, the task of writing and adapting widgets for the every increasing number of social platforms was going to be turn into a colossal mess.

What do you think of this new development in social networking?

Ted Padova talks about Adobe Acrobat. Ted is an accomplished Acrobat PDF Book writer. He has around 26books published. He is one of the authority when it comes to PDF.

Chris Cubos tackles about Adobe Flex. He shows how easy to do scripting with Flex. Flex can also be installed in Linux. Flex is new to me. I’m kind of interested since i’m a linux user myself.
I’m looking forward for next workshop and more events about Adobe.
