CaoCao, a leading mobility service platform, and May Mobility, a global autonomous vehicle technology company, today announced a strategic partnership to jointly explore the large-scale commercialization of robotaxi services in international markets, beginning with Europe.

Under the agreement, the two companies will conduct joint feasibility studies and commercial exploration of robotaxi deployment, and advance pilot programs in key markets, including Europe. The partnership will also deepen collaboration in market expansion, operational model innovation, and commercialization pathways, with the objective of progressing from pilot validation toward scalable deployment.

CaoCao will leverage its strengths in ride-hailing operations, fleet management, vehicle support and maintenance, and large-scale commercial operations, serving as the fleet owner and operator of robotaxi services. May's autonomy as a service offering will power the fleet at scale. The in-situ autonomous driving system reasons through unfamiliar road environments, allowing it to adapt efficiently to new international markets.

Notably, on June 18, CaoCao officially unveiled its RoboX strategy, marking a full-scale AI transformation and its evolution from a mobility service platform into a physical AI mobility technology platform for the AI era. CaoCao believes that as AI becomes increasingly capable of task execution, real-world mobility and fulfillment networks will become critical infrastructure connecting the digital and physical worlds. This strategic partnership with May Mobility will further advance the overseas implementation of CaoCao's RoboX strategy and accelerate the development of a global robotaxi operations network.

Due to DMA, Siri AI delayed in EU for iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

Apple introduced Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence. Unfortunately, due to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple will not be able to ship Siri AI in the European Union with the release of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Over the past several months, EU regulators did not accept any of Apple’s proposed solutions to bring Siri AI to the EU while safely supporting other virtual assistants.

“We’re deeply disappointed that our EU users won’t have Siri AI on iPhone or iPad when we share our new software releases later this year,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “Our hope is to eventually bring Siri AI to the EU, and we will continue to engage with EU regulators on a path forward. However, their refusal to engage constructively on solutions that preserve privacy and security means we do not currently have a timeline for Siri AI’s availability on iOS and iPadOS in the EU.”

When iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 launch later this year, users in the EU1 will not have access to Siri AI and its advanced capabilities — including the new dedicated app to revisit conversations, an expanded Visual Intelligence experience, integrated tools for writing, Siri mode in Camera on iOS, and other Siri AI capabilities announced at WWDC26. Because Siri AI on watchOS 27 requires a paired iPhone with Siri AI, EU users will not have access to Siri AI on watchOS 27.

EU users will be able to access Siri AI on macOS 27 and visionOS 27. Developers located in the EU will not be able to test or use the new Siri AI features for their apps on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27.

Siri AI is private by design and deeply integrated across Apple’s platforms using on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute, which extends the privacy and security of iPhone into the cloud. However, under EU regulators’ extreme interpretation of the DMA, Apple would have to give any virtual assistant direct access to users’ private data — and the ability to directly control other installed applications — as soon as Siri AI is made available in the EU, without the essential protections necessary to keep users and their data safe.

According to EU regulators, the DMA requires Apple to give any AI system nearly unlimited access to a user’s device, as well as the ability to act on that access autonomously without a user’s ongoing visibility and control. That includes the ability to read and send messages, make purchases, access files, and execute actions across any app. Security researchers have already shown that AI systems can be hijacked to steal personal data — like passwords and photos — and to permanently alter files and account settings without a user’s consent. As AI systems gain more capabilities, these risks are quickly increasing in frequency and scope.

Given the serious risks to users, Apple designed a solution called Trusted System Agent — an intermediary that would allow virtual assistants to safely access the same features and capabilities as Siri AI for devices in the EU. Apple also shared a plan to launch Siri AI in the EU while gradually rolling out this new solution over an 18-month period. The European Commission said no. In fact, the European Commission did not agree to any of Apple’s proposals.

Apple will continue working to bring these features to the European Union as safely as possible. However, given the clear dangers to EU users and the regulators’ failure to acknowledge these risks, there is currently no timeline for Siri AI’s availability in the EU on iOS and iPadOS.

Electra Unveils Turbo-Electric Aircraft Concept for Next-Generation Airliner as Part of NASA AACES 2050 Program

Electra, the global leader in hybrid-electric aviation, today unveiled a new conceptual aircraft design for next-generation airliners developed as part of NASA's Advanced Aircraft Concepts for Environmental Sustainability (AACES) 2050 program. The study explores how targeted electrification, advanced aerodynamics, and integrated airframe-propulsion design can transform the efficiency and competitiveness of aircraft with 100+ passengers by mid-century.

Electra's work is rooted in the company's view that aviation is entering a third era of flight, one defined by the ability to use new electric propulsion technologies to unlock transformative, yet achievable aircraft architectures. In Electra's nine-passenger EL9, that approach enables ultra-short takeoff and landing and a new model of Direct Aviation. In the AACES 2050 concept, it enables a future airliner configuration designed to improve efficiency while remaining compatible with real-world airline and airport operations.

The conceptual aircraft uses a wide "double-bubble" fuselage that allows the body of the aircraft to contribute more lift, while two underwing turbofan engines produce thrust as well as electricity to power electric tail fans that ingest and re-energize slower-moving air over the fuselage, a technique known as boundary layer ingestion. Electra's analysis found that the configuration could deliver up to a 17 percent efficiency improvement beyond gains expected by 2050 from advanced structures, engine technologies, and aerodynamic improvements.

"The value of electrification in this concept is that it lets us put the propulsion where it couldn't go before but does the most good," said Dr. Parker Vascik, Director of Product Strategy at Electra. "We can radically improve how the airframe and propulsion system work together while keeping the aircraft grounded in real airline and airport operations. The goal is not just efficiency on paper, but concepts that we can actually build, certify, and use."

Electra's concept is designed to fit within existing airport gates and airline operations, use standard jet fuel or sustainable aviation fuel, and avoid reliance on airport charging infrastructure or untested fuel types. The configuration also supports a twin-aisle cabin layout within a narrowbody aircraft class, unlocking improved passenger comfort and more efficient boarding and deplaning.

The work was led by Dr. Alejandra Uranga, Electra's Chief Engineer for Research and Future Concepts. Dr. Uranga previously co-led NASA-sponsored research at MIT that helped advance the original double-bubble aircraft concept and D8 aircraft design. Electra's AACES 2050 work revisits that architecture with new capabilities enabled by electrification and distributed propulsion.

"This concept builds on years of research into how airframe shape and propulsion placement can work together to improve aircraft efficiency," said Dr. Uranga. "What is different now is the ability to use electrification and distributed propulsion to more deeply integrate those systems. Designing the aircraft as a whole system is essential to realizing the full potential of future commercial aircraft."

In addition to the concept, Electra developed 11 technical papers documenting the models, methods, and findings behind the study. The company also adopted NASA's open-source Aviary multidisciplinary design and optimization tool and developed an electrified aircraft design suite intended for public use. Together, these contributions are intended to help advance the broader aviation research community, not just push forward a single aircraft concept.

Electra's AACES 2050 team brought together leaders across industry and academia, including American Airlines, Honeywell Aerospace, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, Hinetics, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the University of Michigan Department of Aerospace Engineering, and the University of California, Irvine's Aircraft Systems Laboratory.

"Through AACES, NASA is pushing the industry to think boldly, to use our novel propulsion technologies to unconstrain design thinking for the next generation of commercial aviation," said Marc Allen, CEO of Electra. "Electra's aircraft concept gives American industry a chance to lead now by combining decades of research in lifting-fuselage design with breakthrough electric propulsion," says Dr. Vascik. Pushed to the Limit to Challenge the Nürburgring

In response to Morizo's directive that "if it bears the GRMN name, it must be able to run the Nürburgring properly," the GR team developed the GRMN Corolla through intensive Nürburgring testing. The Nürburgring – often called the world's most demanding circuit – exposes inputs and surface changes that do not appear on ordinary test tracks and brings a car's weaknesses to light. The team tuned the car so that, from low speeds to full racing speeds and even on rough surfaces, it should respond more in line with the driver's intentions.

GRMN Corolla development included not only Nürburgring testing but also participation in Japan's Super Taikyu endurance racing series and extensive verification using the latest driving simulators. Through this extensive testing came unexpected issues. By pushing the vehicle to its limits, the GR team was able to address each issue one by one and pursue a high level of vehicle-driver harmony so the car and driver can continue to communicate even at the limit.

The insights gained during GRMN Corolla development have also been applied to the evolution of the base GR Corolla. For example, the GR Corolla, announced in September 2025, extended the application of structural adhesive on the body by 45.6 feet to a total of 107.2 feet to strengthen the body structure, and it was equipped with a cool air duct to reduce intake air temperature under high-load driving – both measures born from Nürburgring learnings.

Aerodynamics refined in Super Taikyu and at the Nürburgring

In Super Taikyu Series races and at the Nürburgring, cars run at high speeds and under high lateral G-forces. To maximize performance in such conditions, it's essential to keep all four wheels firmly planted.

The GRMN Corolla features exclusively developed aerodynamic performance parts for enhanced road holding. Its hood duct, fender ducts, front side spoilers and rear wing incorporate know-how gained from racing, tested on the hydrogen engine-powered GR Corolla that competes in the Super Taikyu Series.

Based on all-inclusive Super Taikyu Series trial and error, fine-tuning came at the Nürburgring. This effort included adjusting the rear wing angle, which features a five-step adjustment mechanism, in 1-degree increments during driving tests with professional drivers to verify effectiveness and determine the optimal specification.

Dedicated Suspension Tuned through Nürburgring Development

The GRMN Corolla's suspension employs exclusive front and rear monotube shock absorbers with rebound springs for improved inner-wheel traction during cornering and for enhanced high-speed cornering performance.

The Nürburgring road surface includes environments that induce significant vertical suspension travel beyond that experienced on typical circuits. To ensure high stability for confident driving even in such conditions, extensive Nürburgring test runs facilitated optimization of bump-stop characteristics. The exclusive shock absorbers were developed by adjusting their stroke down to a millimeter at the front and rear for optimal balance.

To improve cornering stability and braking performance, high-grip Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires were added.

The EPS (electric power steering) control program was also to generate the required amount of assistance torque even during cornering under high g-forces. The exclusively tuned 4WD control system provides optimal rear torque distribution during straight-line driving and enhanced stability at the onset of steering input at extremely high speeds.

Internal Combustion Advancements Informed by the Hydrogen GR Corolla

GR has been gaining valuable lessons for the evolution of the internal combustion engine by competing in the Super Taikyu Series with a hydrogen engine-powered GR Corolla, as extended, high-load endurance racing helps heighten not only the potential of hydrogen technology but also that of fundamental internal combustion engine components.

Based on insights from Super Taikyu, the GRMN Corolla's peak engine torque was increased to 302 pound-feet. The development team optimized the GRMN Corolla's engine characteristics by analyzing the range of engine use during circuit driving, focusing on increasing torque in the 4,000–4,600 rpm mid-speed range, which is crucial for accelerating out of corners.

The GRMN Corolla includes an intercooler spray system to help maintain stable engine output during continuous full-throttle driving, along with the cool-air duct added to the 2026 GR Corolla.

Also, in pursuit of an even higher level of performance and an "untamed energy that captivates customers", the GRMN Corolla has no rear seats as part of an effort to achieve thorough weight reduction. The power-to-weight ratio has been improved by reducing weight by 66 pounds compared to the base vehicle, providing customers with an unparalleled driving experience.

Cockpit Designed for Higher Performance

Beyond driving performance, the cockpit is specially crafted for the GRMN Corolla. To allow drivers to fully exploit the car's potential, seats and the instrument panel were upgraded.

Texas Southern University Expands Elite Flight Training Fleet with New Twin-Engine Aircraft

The momentum continues for Texas Southern University's aviation program. The program made Houston aviation history again Friday with the delivery of a brand-new twin-engine Diamond DA42.

"We've had some great days at Texas Southern Aviation," said Dr. Terence Fontaine, Executive Director of Aviation. "This may be one of the pinnacle moments of the program. We've had a twin-engine airplane in our fleet, but nothing like this. The other one was a 1980 Seneca II. This one is a 2026 brand-new Diamond DA42 with the latest technology."

This twin-engine plane will allow our students to earn their multi-engine rating, which is the final significant step before they attain their Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating. All pilots must earn their ATP in order to fly for the airlines. The new plane is one of the most advanced multi-engine trainers in the world.

"In the last eight years since I've been at Texas Southern, it's been like finishing a puzzle and there were just a couple of pieces left in that puzzle to make it what I refer to as the best program in the country," Dr. Fontaine said. "There are universities that are rated higher than Texas Southern because they've been around more than 50 years. But I will promise you we've done everything possible to elevate our program. We've dotted every 'I' and crossed every 'T' with what's necessary to become a top 10 university in aviation in the United States. This is one of the final pieces of the puzzle and we're elated."

The delivery of the new plane comes on the heels of several major milestones. The University cut the ribbon on Texas Southern University at the Houston Spaceport in April. The 20,000 square-foot hangar houses our newly acquired fleet of 12 Cirrus SR20 aircraft purchased in 2025. The facility also includes 3,800 square feet of classroom and office space to support expanded on-site instruction, as well as future coursework tied to Texas Southern's developing aerospace engineering program.

The program also entered into its fourth airline pilot pathway affiliation this spring after being named a Collegiate Partner in Delta's Propel Pilot Career Path Program. This expands on ongoing career pathway partnerships with United's Aviate Program, Southwest Airlines' Destination 225°, and Republic Airways Pathway Program.

Genesis Magma Racing expect a tough challenge as it makes its 24 Hours of Le Mans debut. Despite promising results in the first two rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), including a first points finish at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the team has reset expectations for its first start in the centerpiece of the season.

Team Prepared for Milestone Event

The team, which is entering a pair of GMR-001 Hypercars in the race, will become the first South Korean manufacturer ever to compete in the famous endurance race. To mark the occasion, the team's two cars will run in a special livery returning to the Magma Orange to red gradient design first shown at Le Mans last year on the GMR-001 Hypercar show car in the manufacturer village.

Recognizing that the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a rigorous test of any team and car, and even more so for a squad in its position — going into just its third-ever competition — Genesis Magma Racing has set humble ambitions for the race. The team's immediate aim is for both its cars to be recorded as classified finishers, requiring the cars to complete 70% of the total distance completed, as well as be running at the end of the race. This goal requires not only reliability from the cars, but also a mistake-free performance from the pit crew, making the race an all-round test for the team.

For the race weekend, Genesis Magma Racing will also host guests from the growing number of Genesis markets around the world, along with the senior leadership across its global organization. FREE ISN'T FREE: NEW REPORT BY WEB3 FOUNDATION FINDS BIG TECH AND AI EARN UP TO $831,000 IN LIFETIME VALUE FROM THE DATA OF EACH U.S. INTERNET USER

A groundbreaking new report published today revealed that Big Tech and AI companies earn up to $831,497 in commercial value from each American internet user over a digital lifetime. This equates to a staggering $268 trillion across the combined population over a period of 60 years.

The study by the Web3 Foundation calculated the companies earn up to $6,565 per year from USA internet users, up to $1,605 per user in the United Kingdom and Europe and $265 in the rest of the world. Globally this equates to an annual amount of up to $694 per internet user.

Over a lifetime that means the commercial value for a user in the USA is a huge $831,497 in the USA, $189,470 in UK and Europe, $47,435 elsewhere and $124,184 globally when inflation-linked.

The report titled 'The Hidden Price of Free: What Your Data Is Really Worth', shows that the modern internet is not free but paid for through personal data. Searches, clicks, locations, purchases, prompts, messages, images, preferences and behavioural signals are collected, analysed and monetised by some of the world's most powerful companies, usually without users having meaningful visibility, bargaining power or participation in the value created.

In relative terms, the amount being earned from a US internet user over their lifetime when inflation is not being factored in ($393,785) is close to the Q1 2026 median sales price of a new US house, which was $403,200. On an inflation-linked basis, the US lifetime figure of $831,497 is roughly equivalent to two such homes.

Elsewhere, the lifetime figure is equivalent to three years of full-time employment in the UK, using the latest British government benchmark of $52,328.46 per annum. Amazon, Alphabet (Google), Anthropic, Microsoft and Meta are explicitly listed in the report, each earning up to $1,000 annually on a single internet user.

Gavin Wood, founder of the Web3 Foundation, explained: "For too long, the internet has operated on an implicit bargain that users do not fully understand: convenience in exchange for surveillance. This report helps expose the scale of that imbalance. The modern digital economy is powered by human data, yet the people generating that value have little visibility, control or participation in the upside.

"Web3 technology can offer a path toward a more equitable internet, where individuals have genuine ownership over their digital lives rather than simply being the raw material for someone else's business model."

Unlike previous attempts to estimate the value of personal data, which have focused mainly on advertising revenue per active user, Web3 Foundation's methodology takes a broader view of how human data is monetised in the modern digital economy. The study examines advertising, AI subscriptions, enterprise licensing, API access, data brokerage, marketplaces, algorithmic recommendations and AI-driven cost savings.

This allowed the findings to account not only for social media and search platforms, but also for emerging AI firms, hardware-linked digital ecosystems and data brokers whose business models increasingly depend on collecting, analysing and reusing personal data at scale.

The report stresses that the figures are not presented as precise valuations or direct cash entitlements owed to individuals. Instead, they are intended as a benchmark for understanding the scale of commercial value associated with personal data and the extent to which that value is captured by companies rather than users.

Web3 Foundation argues that artificial intelligence makes the imbalance more urgent. Personal data is no longer used only to target adverts. It is used to train models, improve recommendations, power enterprise systems, build behavioural profiles, create predictive products and generate new forms of machine intelligence.

Every search query, location signal, online purchase, social interaction, uploaded image or chatbot prompt can become part of a wider data economy. As AI systems become more capable, human-origin data becomes more valuable, while users remain largely excluded from the economic upside.

The report says Web3 offers a fundamentally different vision for the internet. Rather than relying on centralised platforms that collect and monetise user data behind closed doors, Web3 technologies are built on decentralised digital infrastructure that can give individuals greater control over their identity, assets and online activity.

In a Web3-enabled internet, users could decide what data they share, with whom and on what terms. The report argues this could shift power away from dominant technology platforms and towards the individuals who generate the underlying value.

Bill Laboon, Vice President of Technical Operations at Web3 Foundation said: "The internet does not have to work this way. For decades, digital platforms have been built around centralised control, where users hand over their data, identity and value in exchange for access to services.

"Web3 represents a fundamentally different model, one where individuals can own their digital assets, verify their identity without surrendering personal information and participate more fairly in the online economy. As AI accelerates and data becomes even more valuable, building a more transparent, user-led internet is becoming increasingly urgent."

The study screened 150 companies drawn from the first 100 companies in Forbes Global 2000 2025 and all companies in Forbes AI 50 2026. Of these, 129 qualified as Big Data companies under the report's seven-criterion framework. They included 65 AI-first subscription or API companies, 31 ad-funded platforms, 14 hardware-bundled companies and 19 data brokers.

The model produces Conservative, Central and Expansive scenarios to reflect uncertainty around revenue attribution, regional monetisation, user numbers and AI-driven uplift. The report uses PDAV as its headline benchmark because it is designed to capture the broader commercial value associated with active user participation, data generation, behavioural signals and AI-driven revenue growth.

In the USA, the annual PDAV Central figure of $6,563 is equivalent to almost a full month of median household income. Median US household income was $83,730 in 2024, making the annual PDAV figure about 7.8 per cent of that benchmark.

Over a lifetime, the US PDAV Central figure of $393,785 is close to the Q1 2026 median sales price of a new US house, which was $403,200. On an inflation-linked basis, the US lifetime figure of $831,301 is roughly equivalent to two such homes.

Set against retirement savings, the US lifetime figure is larger than many people's entire pension pot. Vanguard reported an average 401(k) account balance of $148,153 in 2024 and a median balance of $38,176. The US lifetime central figure is about 2.7 times the average and more than ten times the median.

The report uses Personal Data Annual Value, or PDAV, as its headline benchmark. PDAV estimates the annual commercial value associated with personal data across multiple types of company and revenue model, including advertising platforms, AI subscription businesses, API providers, enterprise software providers, data brokers and hardware-linked digital ecosystems. It goes beyond traditional ARPU analysis by recognising that value is created not only from active users, but also from non-users, scraped data subjects, inferred profiles, public-corpus subjects and content contributors. This gives an estimate of both extraction value – the revenue firms earn or save through the monetisation improvements driven by human-origin data – and the raw resale value, meaning the market price of isolated data points or identity bundles traded through data brokers or exchanges. Over the course of a digital lifetime, a single user may generate thousands in platform value, while fragments of their raw identity may individually sell for little more than the price of a coffee.

The paper does not claim that PDAV is a precise cash entitlement owed to every individual. Rather it is a vital benchmark for understanding the scale of commercial value associated with personal data. It shows that the current internet economy depends on a vast transfer of value from individuals to companies, usually without meaningful visibility, bargaining power, compensation or control.

The Switzerland-established Web3 Foundation supports the development of a decentralised and user-led internet.
