A widely known proverb “A drowning man catches at a straw” can be matched with a situation when a bankrupting company makes one last attempt to re–surface before drowning completely and the attempt turns out to be successful. Yes, sure you’re guessing the situation rightly; the straw here is the Angry Birds game and the drowning man is Rovio Inc.

However, when we come by the real situation, we doubt angry birds being a straw; in fact it has proved to be a boat by not only saving the company from bankruptcy and bringing home the revenue amounting in millions but also making it the proud owner of the internationally recognized, played and admired game that can never be developed again in ages.

The perspective here is different; for a player it is just admirable because of the game views, functionality, scoring, step – by – step challenges encountered as game advances and the most delightful, the unique powers possessed by the angry birds. These things are no doubt, far more admirable than other hundreds and thousands of games and their plusses and minuses. The situation in which the company has come up with this idea as the last resort adds more to its value. However, when an android developer or programmer plays it, he might admire it more and what is more, might be surprised. I’m also an android developer and had just heard good words about that game and what Rovio Inc achieved by it, but truly I must say, when I played it first time and advanced in it, I came to know what a masterpiece had been created by its developer. I also develop games for the market and have to ponder a lot before a game is developed completely and fix a lot before it is released. Keeping in view the code written, the graphics designed, the animations incorporated, the files compiled, the scenarios fabricated, the logics made, the calculations done, the formalities completed and lastly, the overall effort put into place, I just want to say one word “Matchless” for it and that should be enough for its developer as well because “Praising the creation is doing so for the creator”.

iFixit with the help of sources at MacRumors – who earlier this month has a hand on supposed iPad 3 display. They actually put it under the microscope to be sure about the Retina grade, but now iFixit come up with their own findings.

As you all know that iFixit is a famous repair firm, now they have revealed in their blog entry (I have shared the detail below) that there is something send to them by rumors site,

“a special little something in the mail the other day – the same purported iPad 3 screen with which they confirmed the existence of a ‘Retina’ display!”

But the iFixit says,

“Since they had no means of hooking up the LCD to an iPad 2, we investigated the issue a bit further and saw if we could get their LCD running on the current-gen iPad,”

“So, does the ‘iPad 3’ LCD work in an iPad 2? No. And here’s the reason why,”

If you watch the iFixit video below you will hear MJ explaining about the LCD cable on the iPad 3 display is totally different as compare to the cable used in Apple iPad 2 display. Moreover she says,

“Our efforts to plug it in – even partially, if possible – were unsuccessful,”

“But that didn’t stop us, no siree… We took out our USB microscope and double-verified that this display was indeed a ‘Retina’ display, and also noted some other interesting discrepancies between the two displays,”

This video is posted for all Apple fans anticipating the iPad 3 announcement by Apple, in which MJ points out the differences like iPad resolution, retina chips, and even the display weight. She also said that this hardware belong to an Apple iPad.

Not long ago when a social networking application name ‘Path’ was criticized for anonymously uploading user personal contact data to it servers, without asking for any permission. Well not just Path this is common practice these days for many popular Apps like Instagram, Facebook, Foursquare, and many more, these all iOS Apps use your data from your iPhone and to find other people you know who might be using this same iPhone Application.

But recently Path apologized for the uploading contact and also deletes them all from their servers, more than this they roll out an updated version which asks for permission before uploading your contacts to their servers, but this issue was getting hotter and hotter until Apple came to know about it.

Now for this reason Apple has announced an update for the iOS or new feature in the upcoming iOS version that will be asking for users permission by way of pop-up notification before someone want to share their personal contacts information with any iOS Application. Its kind a similar to location notification app, that pops up in those apps that are to use your current location information. Now, this is more like it, no app will be able to upload user contact information without permission.

Apple as well know has done so many great things, but till now, it didn’t able to make name in “Social Web Services” like Facebook. If we recall Apple launched ‘Ping’, a music focus service which was launched in 2010, that was Apple’s one of a rare failures.

I guess this time Apple is seriously thinking about availing this real chance of doing something social in a proper way, by using it already popular iOS user base – which is growing quite nicely, into a cool social platform, keeping intact all the appropriate privacy policies and security.

This need of social service has been highlighted in last few week due to some pretty pointing controversy, because several social iOS apps were found uploading the contents of phone’s address books to their service servers, even without asking for any permission, which is to make the friend-finding easier. And there is Feds even wants to know what is going on.

It is really embarrassing, that now there is a huge opportunity for Apple to come up with something new.

 

The Loop’s Jim Dairymple has squashed rumors about the Apple is planning to hold an unusual event, which will be in February.

A number of news outlets picked up on a rumor from a Japanese blog this morning saying that Apple would hold an “unusual” event in February.

This is not going to happen, according to my sources. Apple will not hold an event in February, unusual or otherwise. That’s it.
