Steps to Enable Secure Browsing and Login Notifications:-

Login in your FaceBook Account.
Click on Setting Button (Shown in Circle in picture).
Click on Account Settings.
Click on Security (On Left Side Column Below General).
Now your Security settings are open like in picture below

Now Click on Edit of Secure Browsing.
Check the Field 'Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible'.
Click on Save Changes.
Now Secure Browsing of your FaceBook Account is Enabled.
Now Check your Address Bar you will see Https:// instead of http://(which was default protocol).
Now For Enabling Login Notifications Click on Edit of Login Notifications.

You will see the Screen Like below
Now Select your option How you want to get notified. Either by Email or Text messages on mobile or both.

When you select Text message/Push Notification you will see a window Regarding Entering your mobile number( you can asked to enter your password again and If you had already registered your mobile number with Facebook then you may not be asked to Enter mobile Number Skip steps 15 and 16 if you don't have to Enter mobile number).
You will receive a confirmation code on your mobile as text message.
Enter that code in Enter Confirmation code field And Click on Confirm.
Now Click on save Changes.
Now your Secure Browsing and Login Notifications are Enabled.

You are much secure now :)

MS DOS commands

In older post Run commands for Windows I had listed some important run commands. Now I am listing commands for MS DOS. MS DOS ( Microsoft Disk Operating System) is Microsoft's operating system based on CUI (Commandline User Interface). Here I am giving the list of some important MS DOS Commands and in last i will tell how you can explore all the DOS Commands within the Command Prompt.
These DOS commands works with window too.

First open the command prompt. This you can do in any way you like. I like to open that through RUN Command .Type Window logo + R from your keyboard, this will open RUN dialog box on your screen. Type cmd in it and then run. This will open Command Prompt window as shown below.

Now you are ready to use Dos commands in that window.

List of MS DOS Commands:-

ATTRIB:- To view attributes of one or more files.

CD or CHDIR:- To View or change the current directory.

CLS :- Clear the screen.

CMD:- Opens the command interprater

COLOR:- Set the default console foreground and background colors.

COMP:- Compare the content of two files or set of files.

CONVERT:- Convert FAT volume to NTFS volume.

COPY:- Copies one or more files to the another location.

DATE:- Displays or set the date.

DEL:- Deletes one or more files.

DIR:- Displays list of files or subdirectories in a directory.

DISKCOPY:- Copies content of one floppy disk to another.

DISKPART:- Displays or configure Disk Partition properties.

Erase:- Deletes one or more files.

Exit:- Exits the command window.

FIND:- Searches the text string in a file or files

FOR:- Runs a specified command for each file in a set of files.

FORMAT:- Formats a disk.

HELP:- Provides help information for windows commands.

MD or MKDIR:- Creates a directory.

MOVE:- Moves one or more file from one directory to another directory .

PRINT: Prints a text file.

RD or RMDIR:- To remove a directory.

RECOVER:- Recovers readable information from a defective or bad disk.

REN or RENAME:- Renames a file or files.

REPLACE:- Replace files.

SHUTDOWN: Shutdown of machine.

SYSTEMINFO:- Displays system properties and configuration.

TASKLIST:- Displays all currently running tasks.

TASKKILL:- Kill or stop a running process or application.

TIME:- Display or set the time.

TITLE:- Title for MS DOS Window.

TYPE: Displays the content of text file or files.

VER:- Displays the window version.

VERIFY:- Tells the window to verify weather the files are written to disk correctly.

VOL:- Displays the disk volume label and serial number

XCOPY:- Copy files and directory trees.

This is the list of some important DOS Commands which everyone can use technical or non-technical person. you can see the syntax and options related to each command by using help command. for this you have to write like below.

C:\ Users\ Administrator> help [command name]

C:\ Users\ Administrator> help attrib

Window 8 Consumer Perview features.

Window 8 is Microsoft 's new Windows based on Windows 7. Window 8 has many new features like Metro- style interface for touch screen , supports the ARM(advanced RISC machine) processors along with Intel and AMD 's x86 microprocessors. Set video as Desktop Background.

For Setting video as desktop background you will need VLC media player. VLC media player is available free. If you don’t have this then you can download it from here.

Steps for setting video as desktop background:-

If you don’t have vlc media player then you download it and install it as you install any other program.
Now open the VLC media player and select Tools-> Preferences.
Then a window will open as shown below. select video from left side column.
Now in output drop down list select DirectX video output and click on save.
Close the VLC player.
Now open the video which you want as desktop background with VLC media player.
Right click on the video playing in VLC media player and select Video-> DirectX Wallpaper.
That’s it!!! Now your video is playing in your desktop’s background.

How to trace an Email.

By tracing a email you can know the location from where the sender had actually sent that email. By knowing the sender’s IP address you can easily trace his location. Here is the procedure to trace the gmail. Rest of emails you can trace in the similar way.

Steps to trace an Email:-

Now you ready to trace that IP address. for that you can open any of the following two sites. First Open your gmail account and open the mail you want to trace.
Now in that mail on top right look for more option. click on it and than select show original. as shown below.
Now a new tab will be opened which will show the full details of the message. you can note the sender’s IP address from there.
Now you ready to trace that IP address. for that you can open any of the following two sites.

By visiting these sites you can easily find the location of that IP address. Some sites provide satellite location for these IP addresses.

Now in similar way you can trace other mails also. You just have to find the sender’s IP address from the mail. For yahoo mail you can find sender’s IP address in Header details.That’s it.

In this post I am going to discuss about passwords, their types, building strong passwords, Password cracking techniques and how to protet your password from cracking. After reading that post you will know your password is safe or unsafe.

Today Every one is connected to Internet. Almost everyone has email accounts and accounts on social networking sites like Facebook, Google+, orkut, Twitter etc. All these accounts are protected by passwords. So it is really important to choose a strong password so that you can remain safe.

Passwords for your account (on some website) or document are like key to lock. You can access your account or document only when you have right password (Like lock can be open with right key only). Passwords generally control access to your document or account. They let you access and keeps others away.

Types of Passwords:-

Collection of characters (Strings):- Combination of alphabets, numbers and special symbols (generally above the numbers in keyboard). The range (length) of these is either of user’s choice or of range defined by that website.
String + a Token:- This type of passwords requires a string as well as a token of some special type. For example automatic teller machine (ATM) for this you require ATM card and PIN (personal identification number). If either of them is missing your access will be denied.
Biometric Passwords:- These passwords use non-reproducible biological features like fingerprints or retinal scan. These passwords are considered to be safer. But I actual it is more safe to carry a strong password in your brain than which you carry on your body.
Build a strong Password:-

The Strong passwords:-

can’t be found in a dictionary
contains numbers, letters and special symbols
contains upper and lower case letters
are longer

The longer passwords are always safe. You can find many password generators on internet but they generate the passwords which are very difficult to remember. Instead you can try the random characters which you can remember easily. Like

JJPL2c1d (John, Jill, Paul, Lucy, 2 cats, 1 dog – the members of your household)

Password Cracking:-

Password cracking is basically done by these methods:-

Just looking around:- for example if you had wrote your password somewhere. If someone else had found that then he can use it to access your account.
Brute Force Attack:- In this attack attacker try each and every possible combination until he founds the correct password.
Automated Dictionary Attacks:- In this type of attacks each and every word of dictionary is used until one works.

Protection from Password Cracking:-

Use stronger passwords that can’t be determined by dictionary attack.
Don’t past your passwords near your computer.
Change password regularly.
Use different passwords for different accounts. There is no need to create same password for every account. By this you can save your other accounts if one got hacked.
Limit the attempts of wrong passwords to your account. After the limit you account will automatically locked.

How to Hide your Drives in Windows.

In this post, I am going to tell you about how to hide drives of your computer. If someone else use your computer and you don’t want that, that person see your particular drive or drives. Then here is a solution for you. By using these simple steps you can hide your particular drive(s).

Steps for Hiding Drive(s) in Windows:-

Open the Run or Press Window logo + R, In run type gpedit.msc .a new dialog box will open like shown below.
Then go to the following path in left hand side column: User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer.
Then go on right hand side and there is an option “Hide These specified drives in My Computer” . Open that option.
Select Enable by default It’s mode is Not Configured.
Select the option accordingly you want to Hide or restrict the Drive(s).
After okay or Apply your work is complete.Now That particular Drive(s) will not show in your my computer.

You can try other options too in that gpedit.msc Dialog Box.

By using this you can hide all of your drives too. If you want to see them again then you just choose not configure or disable option in 4th step and skip the 5th step.

How to create Backup for your FaceBook Account…

What is the option you have if your facebook account got hacked !!!

One of the options provided by facebook in that case is to make Backup of your account. Here are the simple steps by which you can create Backup of your account and you will be safe even if your account is hacked….

Steps for Facebook Data Backup:-

STEP 1 :- First of all login into your Facebook account and then click Account Settings.

STEP 2:- Then at the bottom, you will find Download your copy of Facebook data as below.

STEP 3:- Click it, and enter your Facebook account password in the box provided to you.

STEP 4:- Now you will see something like that below-

STEP 5:- Now click on Download Achieve and wait for 1 hour for the Facebook backup data file to be sent to your Email account( In this 1 hour facebook will prepare your all data from the first time when you sign up at Facebook).

STEP 6:- Once you will be emailed with your Backup data from Facebook, click on the link provided in your mail and download it and place at some safe place.

STEP 7:- Complete….

How Backup file will help you :-

If your facebook account hacked and you are not able to got access to it again then:-

create a new account with your same name, date of birth and other such information as on the previous hacked account and then upload your backup data file on Facebook. Note- Backup data file will contain all your updates, pics, videos, comments and other personal information from the date of account creation to the date of creation of backup file.
