These days, the spread of wireless Internet is occurring so quickly that it can almost be difficult to keep up with. As few as five or ten years ago, it was a new technology to be able to connect to the Internet without any cords or cables… now, it is almost strange to see someone using a cable, whether at home, at a café, or practically anywhere. This is of course due to expanding wireless technology, the invention of 3G and now 4G networks, and the spread of smart phones and tablet devices. If you are considering joining in, or if you simply want to switch your wireless provider, visit wirelessinternet.net for some information about different wireless Internet providers.

Many people are under the false impression that only major cell phone distributors offer wireless service. Because Apple products are such a large part of the wireless phenomenon in that their devices are very popular and are wireless-capable, people seem to sometimes assume that AT&T and Verizon (Apple’s partners) are the only widespread wireless providers. However, while these companies do indeed support widespread wireless networks, there are also other options out there when you are searching for a wireless provider. More importantly, however, there are multiple emerging leaders in the 4G market, in terms of types of service:

LTE Wireless: LTE is essentially a version of 4G that is mostly attributed to Verizon, and which covers an extremely broad range, allowing its customers to access the 4G network from an ever-increasing number of locations.

WiMax: WiMax is another 4G service, offered chiefly by Clear Wireless, as well as Sprint. WiMax is the main competitor with LTE for 4G supremacy, as both networks bring you fast and reliable 4G service all over the country. While Clear is less well known to some people than its main rival, it is respected as an innovative and dependable wireless option.

Of course, there is more to know about the above listed services, but these are a few details to help get you started. Choosing the right wireless service is important, as you will likely depend on it quite often. So, before switching networks or even trying wireless Internet for the first time, do some thorough research and find out which network and which specific wireless package is best for your situation. Before long, you will be able to connect from just about anywhere, at any time, on a variety of wireless capable devices.

Printing and suddenly the printer stops responding…err! Let me print that file again but Print jobs have clogged up my printer queue and hang my printing process!

The answer looks easy to cancel a print job in the queue – you simply right-click it and select “cancel,” after which the print job status says “Deleting”. So now you can go ahead and print that document! But wait.. the system seems to have hanged and the jobs won’t delete!

Sounds like a common problem isn’t it?

How to force delete print jobs? Print Jobs- stuck/won’t cancel/won’t delete? Let me share a easy tutorial to Delete all pending print jobs from printer spool.

1) Go to Control Panel

2) Select System and Maintenance

3) Select Administrative Tools

4) Double-click on Services

5) In the list of services, scroll down until you find one called “Print Spooler”

6) Right-click on “Print Spooler” and select “Restart”

7) The “Deleted” jobs will disappear and any queued jobs in your print queue will print

When every other International IT company is establishing its branch in India, why should Hostgator be left behind?

Hostgator on May 24 2011 officially announced its operations in India promising top notch performance servers hosted locally in India.

The advantage for sites mainly with Indian traffic would be low latency and access time. With the network path being very short and the one that never travels out of India, an international broken backbone will never affect traffic/access to your sites.

The access times for sites hosted on such low latency network from within India and the Asian region is very fast. Also other account functions such as access to Cpanel/WHM, Emails, FTP etc see very fast speeds compared to overseas hosted websites.

Hostgator Plans for India are same as those offered by Hostgator US just that one needs to pay service tax charged @ 10.30% as imposed by Indian tax authorities.

Hostgator also offer 24×7 localized support for the Indian Operations via helpdesk, live chat and phones.

Hostgator India is offering a 7 day beta test of their shared hosting accounts on their Indian servers for people who want to test the speed and access times of their Indian servers. You can email them at sales@hostgator.in to request a beta testing account.

Visit: Hostgator

Coming to the actual facts and my review towards Hostgator India would be:

Why on Earth will I want to pay 10.30% more than what I pay to Hostgator US?

Why should I pay the INR to USD difference to my bank/credit card company to pay for their plans on their Indian hosting?

Their setup is still in the initial stages with the affiliate system not in place.

Hostgator India can be a big blow to other Indian Hosting companies since they have entered their space now moreover Hostgator is known for eating up their competitors!

With an office in Nashik – Maharashtra, I’d love an invitation to their space to check out how secured is their server space with our data!

I am sure every ‘normal’ internet user does know about static ip. For all those who still don’t know what a static ip is:

A static IP address is one that is bound to a particular interface on a server and is persistent between reboots. This means that a server with a particular static IP address bound to it will always use that IP address for whatever services are being used on that interface.

A fixed (non-dynamic) IP address. Your IP address and host name are recorded in the DNS tables, and remain unchanged each log in.

I had a call recently from Tikona Wi-Broadband guys (no idea from where they got my mobile number from!) telling me about their mind blowing plans and super-sonic speeds, I asked the sales-guy to come up at my place and explain their plans in detail.

Finally he is at my place, I see the plans they don’t seem any different from Airtel Broadband, MTNL Broadband and more.. though I have tried every ISP provider in India (almost) I decided why leave Tikona?

The next thing I ask the sales guy is do you offer static ip address? He looked stunned and out of words, maybe like I asked him is Tikona Broadband available in Mars! He takes his time and finally concludes its best to talk to his senior executive. He repeats my question 4 times to his guy and finally hands me the phone since the guy on the other end wasn’t able to understand what I am asking.

I ask him about static ip address, he tells me yes sir your connection will be good and the speeds will be as promised. I repeat; he says yes sir all connections have ip.

I say thanks and ask the sales guy to contact me after 1 month as I will be out of town.

If you (Tikona) don’t understand what is static ip, how are you going to serve me in future? Senior guys too have no idea about static ip!

I drop the idea to use Tikona Broadband… anyways gives me an idea to blog about my experience!

Image search is probably one of the most important aspects of Google search engine.

Recently Google introduced a system wherein a user who is searching an image doesn’t really need to browse across the website and the image loads in a frame, undoubtedly its a great feature for a user (searcher) but is a big traffic loss for the webmaster.

All webmasters know how important is legitimate traffic but losing that traffic just because your website is in background of that image frame doesn’t really make sense.

A lot of webmasters have implemented a simple script wherein you can break out of frames.

Break-Out-Of-Frames is a WordPress plugin that adds a small piece of javascript code to the head of each web page, so that it can break out of foreign frames.

You can download Break Out Of Frames from here.

For those who aren’t wordpress users or blogger can use the following simple code for the websites to break out of frames ie., redirect image search from google to your post;

<script type=”text/javascript”>
<!--
if (parent.frames.length > 0) { parent.location.href = location.href; }
-->
</script>

Code inclusion needs to be between your <head> </head> section of your website code.

It maybe noted that above method also helps you redirect users to your site from those websites too which use your content in a frame in their websites.
