Ekspansi belum terpikirkan lagi karena Bakrie Telecom sendiri baru saja menjadi pelanggan kategori CDMA dan WCDMA dari perusahaan asal Swedia ini tahun lalu.
"Apa yang kami lakukan yahin ini adalah bekerja sama dengan mereka untuk menjangkau lebih banyak pelanggan, membuat lebih banyak keuntungan, mengembangkan mobile broadband mereka, memperbaiki kualitas jaringan mereka serta service area coverage," ujar President and Country Manager Ericsson Indonesia Arun Bansal di sela acara Media Workshop Ericsson dan Gathering di Hotel Sheraton Bandung, Sabtu (6/3/2010).
Arun mengatakan bergabungnya Bakrie Telecom dalam daftar pelanggannya merupakan dampak dari pembelian Northell oleh Ericsson tahun lalu. Dengan demikian, Vice President Marketing and Communications Ericsson Indonesia Hardyana Syintawati menegaskan Bakrie yang sebelumnya menjadi pelanggan Northell diambil alih oleh Ericsson.
"Karena ada barang-barang based-nya Northell jadi bisa langsung kita ambil alih," tutur Hardyana. Selain lima operator itu, Bakrie juga masih menjalin kerja sama dengan Telkom Indonesia. Tahun ini, Ericsson juga akan terus menjajaki tren Long Term Evolution (LTE) atau 4G dengan para operator dan pemerintah sendiri.

HTC EVO 4G, Smartphone Android Pertama dengan Wimax

WASHINGTON, KOMPAS.com - Pabrikan ponsel Taiwan HTC menjadi vendor pertama yang akan merilis smartphone berbasis Android yang dilengkapi Wimax, koneksi internet kecepatan tinggi generasi keempat. Smartphone tersebut bakal diberi nama HTC EVO 4G, bukan HTC Supersonic seperti yang dirumorkan sebelumnya.

Adalah Sprint, operator seluler berbasis CDMA di AS, yang membocorkan rencana tersebut seperti dilansir Engadget. Sprint menjadi mitra eksklusif yang akan digandeng HTC untuk mengeluarkan perangkat ini ke pasaran untuk pertama kali. HTC EVO 4G rencananya dirilis pada musim panas tahun ini atau sekitar Juni-Juli 2010 mendatang.

Secara teknis, spesifikasi HTC EVO 4G termasuk paling unggul dibandingkan smartphone Android yang sudah beredar saat ini. Untuk menjalankan aplikasi bakal sangat nyaman karena sistemomputasinya didukung prosesor Snapdragon 1GHz, memori internal 1GB, dan memori RAM 512 MB. Sayang, memori eksternal bawaannya hanya 8 GB.

Layarnya TFT LCD 4,3 inci dengan resolusi 480 x 800. Kualitas grafiknya mendukung hingga video high definition 720p. HP Slate Resmi Menantang iPad

WASHINGTON, KOMPAS.com - Kemunculan iklan iPad buatan Apple dalam perhelatan Academy Award (Oscar) langsung disambut video HP Slate di YouTube. Hewlett Packard tersebut untuk pertama kalinya memberi penjelasan lebih banyak soal perangkat tablet terbarunya itu setelah dipamerkan CEO Microsoft Steve Ballber pada CES 2010 lalu.

"Dengan produk slate ini, Anda bisa merasakan pengalaman mengakses web sepenuhnya di genggaman tangan. Tidak ada yang dikurangi, tidak ada yang dikorbankan," ujar Phil McKinney, vice president dan chief technology officer HP Personal System Group dalam blog resmi perusahaan, Senin (8/3/2010).

HP Slate menggunakan sistem operasi Windows 7 dan mendukung penuh konten berbasis Flash, tidak seperti iPad yang sampai saat ini belum bisa menjalankan konten Flash. Hp Slate juga bisa berfungsi sebagai e-reader meski tidak dijelaskan khusus adanya aplikasi pembaca e-book. Dalam demonstrasinya, HP Slate menjalankan video di MTV.com, memainkan game Spongebob Squarepants, mengedit foto dengan Photoshop.com, serat membaca versi digital New York Times.

Video tersebut tidak mengungkap spesifikasi rinci perangkat tersebut dan berapa harganya. Namun, sepintas HP Slate menggunakan layar yang lebarnya sekitar 10 inci. HP Slate kemungkinan juga dirilis tahun ini. HP telah menyediakan halaman khusus di hp.com/slate yang sementara berisi formulir bagi konsumen yang ingin mendapatkan informasi terkini soal perangkat ini.

Nokia Bikin "Smartphone" Murah

ESPOO, KOMPAS.com — Tak ingin pasarnya terus tergerus, Nokia membuat produk baru. Produsen handphone terbesar sejagat ini bakal mengenalkan ponsel pintar murah untuk bersaing dengan produk serupa milik Samsung Electronics Co dan LG Electronics Inc.

Ponsel baru tersebut bernama C5. Ponsel ini seri pertama dari "keluarga" baru ponsel Nokia, C-Series. "Fokus handphone ini menjalin interaksi sosial antara keluarga dan pertemanan," kata Juru Bicara Nokia Doug Dawson.

Desain C5 memang menunjang akses ke jejaring sosial. Nokia ingin ponsel yang masih memasang keypad tradisional ini menjadi pilihan kaum muda yang gemar mengirim pesan pendek dan mengakses situs jejaring sosial.

Makanya, Nokia memasang harga jual C5 yang tergolong murah. Tiap unit C5 berbanderol 135 euro, setara 183 dollar AS atau Rp 1,7 juta, sebelum pajak dan subsidi. C5 akan membanjiri pasaran Eropa, Asia, dan Afrika pada kuartal kedua 2010.

C5 berukuran cukup kecil. Panjangnya 112 milimeter (mm), lebar 46 mm, dan ketebalan 12 mm. Baterai C5 tahan untuk berbicara hingga 12 jam dan standby selama 26 hari. Berat ponsel ini 89,3 gram.

C5 memasang sistem operasi Symbian generasi terbaru, S60 edisi ketiga. C5 sudah dipasangi fitur jejaring sosial secara built in. Jadi, konsumen bisa langsung melihat status temannya di Facebook. Fitur chatting, e-mail, dan browsing juga ada di ponsel ini. Nokia C5 menyediakan koneksi data berkecepatan tinggi HSDPA/HSUPA untuk meng-upload foto dan video.

Ponsel ini memiliki layar 2,2 inci dan kamera 3,2 megapixel. Setiap ponsel C5 sudah terpasang kartu memori 2 gigabyte dan bisa diperbesar hingga 16 gigabyte. C5 juga memiliki FM stereo.

Asyiknya, C5 juga berisi versi terbaru Ovi Maps. Peranti ini bisa membuat konsumen berbagi lokasi keberadaannya melalui situs jejaring sosial.

Nokia memang berusaha melawan gempuran dua produsen ponsel dari Korea. C5 bakal menjadi pesaing kuat Samsung Corby, Samsung Star, dan LG Cookie.

Tekanan buat Nokia di bisnis ponsel memang sangat keras. Tahun lalu, penjualan bersih mereka turun dari 50,7 miliar euro menjadi 40,9 miliar euro. Sudah pasti, angka ini menggerus laba perusahaan yang memiliki 123.553 pekerja ini. Laba Nokia turun dari 4,9 miliar euro menjadi 1,1 miliar euro pada tahun 2009.

Duarr!! Ledakan iPod Bikin Panik Anak SMA

Ledakan iPod kembali terjadi. Peristiwa ini dialami oleh salah seorang siswa di Pentucket Regional High School di Massachusetts, Amerika Serikat.

Ketika sedang duduk di kelas sains, ia tak menyangka akan dapat kejutan yang tak menyenangkan. Pemutar musik kesayangannya ini tiba-tiba saja meledak.

Alhasil, seisi kelas dibuat kaget dan lari berhamburan. Petugas pemadam kebakaran pun dipanggil seketika untuk memadamkan api yang menjalar di ruang kelas tersebut. Beruntung, tak ada yang terluka dalam kejadian ini.

Kasus meledaknya pemutar musik keluaran Apple ini, merupakan kasus kesekian yang terjadi. Sebelumnya, iPod milik seorang remaja di Ohio juga meledak, bahkan mengakibatkan kaki sang korban terbakar.

Sejauh ini, seperti detikINET kutip dari AfterDwan, Senin (1/3/2010), perusahaan Steve Jobs ini belum mengakui adanya kerentanan pada pemutar musik ternama itu.

Namun menurut Consumer Product Safety Commission, penyebab ledakan-ledakan tersebut bisa saja disebabkan karena faktor baterai lithium yang bukan merupakan hardware keluaran Apple.

Kok bisa ya, bukannya baterai di dalam produk iPod sudah menyatu dengan hardware lainnya?

Sony Ericsson W995, Sentuhan Cybershot pada Walkman

Ada hape yang didesain secara minimalis untuk memikat orang dengan citra modern. Sebagian orang mengamini tawaran itu. Namun sebagian lain merasa lebih mantap dengan hape seperti Sony Ericsson W995 ini.

Sebelum dibuka slidingnya saja, bodi sudah langsung berasa ramai dengan segala macam tombol menu, colokan, sombol, dan aksen. Macam anak-anak punk yang penuh pernik di sekujur tubuhnya saja. Namun ini sah saja. Kehadiran semua pernik itu justru membuat semacam jaminan bahwa banyak yang bisa dieksplorasi dalam hape ini.

Di sisi samping kanan, terdapat tombol-tombol musik yang bertugas memerkuat citra bahwa hape ini adalah seri W (Walkman) dari Sony Ericsson. Selain itu di deretan yang sama juga terdapat tombol rana kamera yang kapasitas resolusinya juga tak tanggung-tanggung: 8 megapixel.

Beruntung sisi samping kiri sepi tombol, digantikan oleh slot colokan charger atau kabel data dan slot memori M2 yang tertutup oleh casing baterai. Meski begitu, masih tersisa satu tombol pintas Walkman pada sisi ini, seakan ingin menunjukkan bahwa fitur musik sangat kaya dan tak ada habisnya.

Tombol-tombol setengah lingkaran dan ukuran dan layout tombol keypad membuat hape ini langsung ketahuan Sony Ericsson banget. Sentuhan baru dilakukan dengan memberi sebuah kickstand alias penyangga di bodi belakang, agar hape ini bisa menjelma sebagai peranti multimedia, terutama agar nyaman ketika digunakan untuk menonton film.

Musik
Predikat Walkman adalah jaminan mutu bagi hape musik. Meski begitu, tak semua seri Walkman bisa memenuhi harapan. Nah, W995 ini termasuk yang akan sangat memuaskan kebutuhan dengaran bagi pelanggan.

Untuk kelas speaker bawaan hape, maka W995 mengendong speaker terbaik. Ketika memainkan sumber musik yang baik, noise sangat minimal. Reproduksi audiojernih bin bening. Detail nada rendah dan (terutama yang) tinggi bisa tersaji dengan utuh, tidak pecah.

Meski speakernya kecil, namun efek stereo hadir dengan lugas, tidak malu-malu. Pintar-pintarlah memaksimalkan prioritas nada agar mendapatkan dengaran yang sesuai selera atau jenis musiknya dengan memanfaatkan equalizer dengan banyak pilihan genre musik.

Ke-walkman-an Sony Ericsson sempat dipertanyakan karena tidak juga mau mendukung kenyamanan bermusik dengan menyediakan colokan standar 3,5mm pada hape Walkman-nya. Namun seakan insyaf, Sony Ericsson menyediakan colokan tersebut pada W995. Nyaman!
Di luar pemutar musik, banyak fitur yang berkaitan dengan musik bisa dieksplorasi. Misalnya ada fitur SensMe. Fitur yang menyenangkan ini bisa menggolongkan musik berdasarkan mood kita. Lagu-lagu digolongkan berdasarkan empat kuadran tempo dan perasaan. Ingin lagu lambat dan ”yellow-mellow”, cepat tapi tetap ”yellow-mellow”, lambat tapi gembira, atau cepat sekaligus gembira? Tinggal pilih variasinya berdasarkan kuadran dan koordinatnya, yang disajikan dengan visualisasi yang menarik.

Ada pula MusicDJ, yang memungkinkan kita mengaransemen musik dengan mudah, tinggal masukkan unsur-unsur musik ke dalam kanal yang tersedia. Lantas ada fitur TrackID untuk mendapatkan potongan lagu-lagu lewat Internet. Kelengkapan bermusik juga diperkaya dengan kehadiran radio FM.

Kamera
Keberadaan kamera dengan resolusi tinggi, 8 megapixel, memberi ”tendangan” yang keren untuk W995 yang sudah ber-Walkman ini. Sentuhan Cybershot pada Walkman. Dengan begitu, penggunanya memiliki peranti dengan kemampuan-kemampuan yang maksimal dalam bidangnya, musik dan foto. Bikin ngiler nggak sih?

Untuk kamera sekualitas 8 megapixel, hasil fotonya tidak memalukan cenderung memuaskan untuk mengabadikan momen dan monumen indah. Namun untuk menjadikannya foto yang memenuhi standar artistik, butuh perlakuan khusus, baik sebelum memotret maupun setelahnya.

Perlakuan khusus sebelum memotret adalah pengondisian objek untuk kecukupan cahaya. Dengan cahaya yang cukup, tidak berlebih dan tidak kurang, baru foto bisa tampil tanpa noise.

Sedang perlakuan khusus agar foto tampil menawan setelah memotret bisa dilakukan di komputer atau langsung di W995 sendiri. Ada fitur PhotoFix untuk membaguskan foto. Ada fitur PhotoDJ yang selain bisa juga untuk menyunting foto agar lebih bagus juga bisa untuk memberi hiasan atau efek pada foto.

Tampilan berbagai kontrol pada layar bidik cukup membantu. Masih banyak fitur pengendali lainnya yang tersembunyi untuk dapat menghasilkan foto yang sesuai dengan idaman. Fitur-fitur yang menarik misalnya adalah: deteksi wajah, geotagging untuk foto, metering untuk exposure, stabilizer foto dan video, BestPic, autirotation, macro mode.

Rekaman video yang dihasilkan layak direkomendasikan, baik untuk disimpan dalam ponsel maupum dipindahkan ke komputer untuk diputar di sana. Ada fitur video stabilizer untuk mengurangi kekaburan akibat gerakan pada waktu merekam.

Antarmuka
Melihat sekilas antarmuka layarnya W995 didedikasikan untuk gaya hidup modern. Desain-desain menu dan ikonnya fresh dan artistik, ditingkah dengan animasi yang menjadikannya terkesan dinamis senantiasa. Home screen, alias layar utama, misalnya, seperti anak yang hiperaktif tak mau berhenti untuk menampilkan animasi dengan sentuhan artistik technomodern.

Animasi berikut permainan warna mencolok untuk menu yang sedang aktif di atas nuansa monokromatis menu-menu non-aktif lainnya, selain memberikan sentuhan seni, juga memudahkan penggunaan. Keindahan tampilan antarmuka ini berlanjut terutama pada menu multimedia, sehingga warna dan nuansa techno terasa sekali. Meskipun, pada beberapa folder menu, pada level kedalaman menu ketiga, Sony Ericsson kembali dengan menu tradisionalnya yang sudah banyak kita kenal.

Konektivitas
Selain kamera dan musikalitas, satu hal menonjol lain dari W995 adalah WiFi. Koneksi ini tersedia pada hape dan mudah dikoneksikan. Hanya sayang, keunggulan ini, dan sekaligus keunggulan konektivitas lainnya tidak cukup diwadahi secara memadai agar terasa lebih menonjol dan mudah, misalnya dengan membuat folder menu khusus untuk Connectivity. Pada W995, menu Connectivity ini sekadar dicemplungkan pada menu Setting.

Justru fitur GPS dan peta mendapat perlakuan khusus. Ya, ada GPS yang bekerja dengan sangat baik dan cepat dalam mengakuisisi satelit pada W995. Koordinat hasil pencariannya kemudian bisa dimanfaatkan dalam beberapa aplikasi yang dikemas pada menu Location Service: Google Maps, Navigation, dan Tracker. GPS juga diperkuat dengan Assisted GPS untuk memercepat pencarian koordinat.

Soal menu dan antarmuka, menurut Sinyal, juga kurang mendapat sentuhan ”baru” megikuti tren berkembangnya aplikasi-aplikasi yang berkaitan dengan jejaring sosial dan Internet pada umumnya. Boro-boro mendapatkan aplikasi chatting dan jejaring sosial alias Web 2.0, dalam antarmuka W995 hanya terdapat kelompok menu Internet yang hanya berisi browser bawaan Sony Ericsson.

Browser-nya sendiri tampil dengan memuaskan. Enteng namun powerful, mampu menyaingi browser sekelas Opera Mini, yang sedang berjaya di pasar browser global.

Pendapat Kami:
Musik dan narsistik sekarang ini banyak ditemukan dalam satu paket pada banyak orang. Jadi tak ada salahnya menawarkan dua kemewahan itu sekaligus pada hape seperti W995 ini. Meski musik dan kamera sama-sama tingkat tinggi, namun unsur musik dalam paduan ini masih tampil lebih berkualitas. Ya, namanya juga seri W.

BenQ Joybook S35: Telah Berbekal Windows 7

Secara fisik, BenQ Joybook S35 ini seperti versi besar dari netbook BenQ, Joybook S101. Ini bisa dilihat dari penggunaan bahan piano glossy berwarna biru dengan tulisan BenQ Joybook di bagian punggungnya. Penggunaan material glossy tersebut membuat penampilan notebook ini terlihat modern, meski harus dikompensasi dengan mudahnya sidik jari menempel di permukaan ini.

Sebagai notebook, fisik Joybook S35 terlihat sedikit lebih lebar. Tebal notebook ini sendiri berkisar di angka 1,3cm (di sisi depan) sampai 2,9cm (di sisi belakang). Jadi secara tebal, notebook ini tidak berhasil mencapai angka “keramat” 1 inci. Namun hitung-hitungan itu sejujurnya tidak bisa melunturkan citra Joybook S35 sebagai notebook tipis, karena sekilas ia terlihat sangat ramping. Apalagi, bobotnya cuma 1,6kg.

Seluruh fasilitas BenQ S35 disusun di sisi kiri dan kanan, meliputi slot memori, VGA-Out, USB (3 buah), HDMI, dan eSATA. Fasilitas terakhir ini layak digarisbawahi karena tidak ada di notebook tipis lain. Namun seperti notebook tipis umumnya, tidak ada perangkat optik maupun slot ekspansi PCMCIA/Express Card. Notebook ini juga tidak memiliki Bluetooth.

Di sisi interior, BenQ tidak banyak melakukan perombakan. Tombol keyboard-nya praktis sama seperti notebook BenQ pada umumnya, tidak mengikuti bergaya chiclet yang sedang trendi itu. Namun InfoKomputer menyukai touchpad-nya yang dibuat bertekstur sehingga terasa responsif.

Seperti notebook tipis lain, notebook berlayar 13,3” menggunakan prosesor Intel Core 2 Solo SU 3500 dan chipset Intel Mobile GS45. Kapasitas memorinya besar (4GB), namun kapasitas harddisknya terbilang kecil (250GB) jika dibanding Asus maupun Acer. Hasil pengujian Joybook S35 terlihat bersaing dengan Asus UX30 sebagai yang terbaik, namun perlu dicatat kalau notebook ini menggunakan Windows 7 sehingga tidak pas jika dibandingkan secara apple-to-apple.

Kami belum mendapat harga resmi BenQ Joybook S35 dengan spesifikasi uji kami, sehingga agak sulit menilai kinerja notebook ini secara keseluruhan. Namun menurut Galva Techologies sebagai distributor BenQ, Joybook S35 akan dijual mulai harga US$ 699 lengkap dengan Windows 7 Starter Edition. Dari hitung-hitungan di atas kertas tersebut, BenQ S35 adalah pilihan yang sangat layak dilirik.

Nokia X6 dan N97 Mini "Comes with Music"

BANGKOK, KOMPAS.com - Dua handset baru Nokia yang segera tersedia di Indonesia akan dilengkapi bonus download jutaan lagu dari Nokia Music Store secara gratis. Handset tersebut akan tersedia dengan edisi khusus dengan label "Comes with Music".

"Comes with Music tersedia di Indonesia segera di kuartal kedua tahun ini," Chris Carr, Vice President Sales Southeast Asia Pacific (SEAP) Nokia dalam Showcase Nokia 2010 di Bangkok, Thailand, Senin (22/2/2010) malam. Ia tak menyebut tanggal pastinya, namun dipastikan Nokia N97 Mini dan X6 edisi khusus itu hadir antara April-Juni 2010.

Indonesia merupakan negara keempat di wilayah SEAP yang akan menghadirkan Comes with Music. Sebelumnya, layanan ini sudah dapat dinikmati para pengguna Nokia di Australia, Malaysia, dan Singapura. Di seluruh dunia sudah 27 negara yang merilis Comes with Music dengan pilihan handset berbeda-beda.

"Handset yang dilengkapi Comes with Music kemungkinan N97 Mini dan X6," kata Carr, usai acara. N97 mini merupakan versi mungil N97, smartphone berlayar sentuh dan keyboard QWERTY dengan harga yang juga lebih terjangkau. Sementara X6 memang didesain dengan fitur musik sebagai tema utama.

Carr optimistis hal tersebut akan disambut baik karena menurutnya musik sangat digemari konsumne di Indonesia. Apalagi dengan jumlah penduduk lebih dari 200 juta, menurut Carr, merupakan potensi pasar yang sangat besar. "Pengalaman kami di Singapura, ada 10 juta download dalam tiga minggu sejak layanan ini diluncurkan," ujar Carr.

Sayangnya, Comes with Music hanya tersedia untuk handset baru. Setiap pembeli handset edisi khusus itu bebas mengunduh jutaan lagu dari Nokia Music Store selama setahun. Jutaan lagu tersebut bisa diunduh, disimpan di komputer, dan dimainkan sampai kapanpun. Untuk handset lama tersedia layanan download lagu dengan skema biaya per download lagu.

iPhone Masih Kalah Bersaing dengan BlackBerry

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jumlah pengguna iPhone, smartphone buatan Apple, di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan yang pesat. Sejak diluncurkan setahun lalu, puluhan ribu pengguna layanan seluler memilih perangkat tersebut.

"Sekitar 30.000-an yang sudah pakai sejak peluncuran pertama Maret 2009 lalu," ujar Gideon Edie Purnomo, VP Channel Management Telkomsel saat jumpa pers peluncuran iPhone 3GS di Jakarta, Jumat (19/2/2010).

Untuk iPhone 3GS, Telkomsel telah menyiapkan 5000 unit pada tahap awal untuk satu bulan pertama. Gideon enggan menyebut berapa target penjualannya, namun hanya mengatakan siap menambah berapa pun jika kurang dan akan melakukan evaluasi setiap bulan.

Gideon mengakui, jumlah pengguna iPhone memang tak sebesar BlackBerry yang kini sudah mencapai hampir 200.000 pengguna di Telkomsel. Meski demikina, ia mengatakan animo masyarakat terhadap iPhone cukup bagus. Karenanya, Telkomsel pun terus mendukung pengembangan konten aplikasi yang menjadi kekuatan iPhone.

Sebelum meluncurkan iPhone untuk pertama kali Maret lalu, Telkomsel sempat berharap iPhone bisa melebihi BlackBerry. Saat itu jumlah pengguna BlackBerry telah mencapai sekitar 50.000. Namun, BlackBerry mengalami pertumbuhan yang sangat tinggi jauh meninggalkan iPhone setahun terakhir.

HP Pavilion dm3, Laptop 'Hangat' dengan Grafis Oke

Jakarta ,Detik.com- Hewlett-Packard (HP) kembali hadir dengan laptop Ultra Low-Voltage (ULV) terbaru. Tak seperti HP Envy 13 yang ditujukan bagi pembeli berkantong tebal, laptop tipis ini sepertinya menyasar pengguna rumahan atau pelaku UKM.

Laptop ini memang memiliki ketipisan kurang dari 1 inch dan sepertinya adalah lawan sepadan bagi ThinkPad Edge milik Lenovo. Dengan bentuk dan ukuran layar yang hampir sama, kedua produk tersebut juga menyasar pasar yang sama.

Bedanya, HP Pavilion dm3 ini berbalut cover aluminium dengan corak brushed metal pekat. Alhasil bahan tersebut nampak lebih berkelas dan tidak mudah kotor, jika dibandingkan ThinkPad Edge. Produk ini juga cocok disandingkan dengan orang yang berkarakter rapi.

Desain: Pesona Brushed Metal

Berbalut cover alumunium dengan desain brushed metal peraknya, laptop tipis ini langsung menggoda detikINET untuk merasakan sensasi keindahan khas HP Pavilion.

DetikINET memang harus mengakui bahwa HP Pavilion dm3 termasuk salah satu laptop tipis yang sangat bersih. Terlebih untuk desain keyboard tickletnya. Sangat nyaman -- sayang masih kalah empuk dibanding ThinkPad -- saat jemari berukuran besar menari di atas papan ketik tersebut.

Ada satu hal yang membuat laptop ini kurang nyaman. Saat menggunakan adaptor, telapak tangan akan terasa sedikit 'kesetrum'. Tentu saja ini karena bahan cover aluminiumnya. Bagi beberapa orang yang belum terbiasa, hal ini terasa sangat menggangu.

Saat ini tren tombol 'function (Fn) terbalik' telah melanda ranah laptop tipis. Sama seperti seri ThinkPad Edge, HP Pavilion dm3 juga memiliki tombol Fn terbalik. Walau belum terbiasa, desain semacam ini justru lebih nyaman. Secara keseluruhan desain keyboard pada Pavilion dm3 memang sangat rapi.

Touchpad atau Cermin?

HP Pavilion dm3 juga dilengkapi dengan touchpad berbahan stainless-stell perak. Kesan pertama, touchpad ini memang indah dan mengkilap. Bahkan saking mengkilapnya, touchpad ini bisa digunakan layaknya kaca untuk bercermin.

Namun keindahannya berbanding terbalik dengan fungsinya. Saat digunakan untuk menggerakan cursor, touchpad ini terasa berat, tidak nyaman, dan kurang responsif. Selain itu, bahan tersebut cepat kotor dengan cap-cap jemari pengguna yang kadang berminyak atau kurang bersih.

Dari sisi bobot, Pavilion dm3 tergolong ringan. Saat produk ini dimasukan tas laptop, punggung pun tak terasa sakit. Karena tak berbekal DVD ROM, laptop ini jadi terasa ringan.

Untuk urusan port, HP memberi 4 buah colokan USB di sisi kiri dan kanan body laptop. Selain itu masih ada port HDMI, VGA, LAN, card reader, serta 2 jack audio earphone dan mic yang tersusun rapi di sisi kanan dan kiri laptop tipis ini. Untuk menjaga kesan rapi, HP pun tidak membubuhkan port di bagian belakang laptop.

Secara keseluruhan body HP Pavilion dm3 terasa solid dan elegan. Sayang hal tersebut sedikit tak berlaku pada baterai yang ada di bagian bawah. Saat detikINET mengangkatnya, entah mengapa rasanya baterai terasa kurang menempel. Padahal semua sekrup sudah terpasang rapi.

Performa: Grafis Ciamik, Sayang Cepat Panas.

Dari posisi kosong, HP Pavilion dm3 membutuhkan waktu pengisian baterai sekitar 2,5 jam. Kemudian untuk pemakaian normal, laptop tipis ini sanggup bertahan sekitar 4,5 jam sebelum benar-benar mati total.

Dalam pengujian baterai, detikINET mengetesnya dengan membuka browser Firefox (3 tab dengan auto refresh tiap 15 menit) serta Wi-Fi dalam keadaan terus menyala. Sementara untuk setting display, laptop ini diset dalam posisi normal (default), dengan screen saver dalam keadaan off.

HP Pavilion dm3 hadir dengan prosesor AMD Neo X2 Dual-Core yang dilengkapi grafis ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330, dengan RAM sebesar 4 GB. Grafis yang dimiliki laptop ini termasuk lumayan saat digunakan untuk kebutuhan multimedia. DetikINET pun cukup terpukau dengan dukungan grafis ini, dalam sebuah ULV laptop.

Saat dijajal detikINET untuk menyaksikan video Transformer 2 full HD 1080p, nyaris tidak ada suara ataupun gambar patah-patah. Laptop tipis ini sanggup mengeksekusinya dengan sempurna. Suara yang dihasilkan dari speaker Altec Lansing pun tergolong cukup baik.

Karena rasa penasaran, detikINET nekat menjajal menginstall game sekelas Mass Effect 2. Di luar dugaan, HP Pavilion dm3 mampu mengeksekusi game ini dengan sempurna -- semua efek menyala-- pada resolusi 800x600. Saat resolusi dimaksimalkan menjadi 1366x768, gambarnya sedikit patah-patah (fps menunjukan angka 10-20).

Dengan patokan tersebut, HP Pavilion dm3 bisa digunakan untuk keperluan grafis kelas menengah seperti foto editing, project video ataupun animasi ringan dengan software sekelas After Effect. Jika diposisikan untuk UKM, laptop ini terasa pas untuk keperluan mobilitas kerja. Apalagi didukung dengan optical drive eksternal yang sudah terdapat dalam box HP Pavilion dm3.

Dengan segala kelebihannya di bidang grafis ringan, HP Pavilion dm3 ini terasa cepat panas. Belum sampai 2 jam detikINET menjajal game dan sebuah project ringan dengan Adobe After Effect, hawa panas begitu terasa saat telapak tangan menempel di body aluminium laptop ini.

Sepertinya, HP Pavilion dm3 memiliki sirkulasi udara yang kurang baik. Sebagai saran, calon pengguna harus mempersiapkan sistem pendingin yang baik untuk produk ini.

Kesimpulan:

Jika boleh dilukiskan dengan kata-kata, HP Pavilion dm3 adalah sebuah laptop tipis berdesain rapi, serta berkemampuan grafis yang lumayan. Kelemahannya hanyalah sirkulasi udara yang kurang merata. Alhasil HP Pavilion dm3 memiliki sifat 'hangat' di tangan.

Produk ini cocok digunakan bagi pengguna rumahan serta UKM. Terlebih bagi mereka yang menginginkan ULV laptop berharga terjangkau, namun berkemampuan lumayan. Calon pembeli dapat merogoh kocek sekitar Rp. 7,3 juta, termasuk eksternal optical drive di dalamnya.

Telkomsel Bidik 25 Ribu Peminat iPhone 3GS

iPhone 3GS ditargetkan Telkomsel mampu terjual 25 ribu unit hingga akhir tahun. Untuk tahap awal, mitra operator ekslusif Apple di Indonesia ini telah menyiapkan pasokan 5000 unit.

"Sudah lebih dari 200 unit yang terjual saat peluncuran akhir pekan kemarin," ujar Gideon Edie Purnomo, VP Channel Management Telkomsel kepada detikINET, Senin (22/2/2010).

Ribuan unit ponsel layar sentuh buatan Apple ini telah dipasok ke 31 gerai Grapari dan gerai Halo Telkomsel serta mitra penjualannya seperti Sarindo, Oke Shop, dan Telesindo Shop.

Sebagai versi upgrade, iPhone 3GS telah memiliki sejumlah perbaikan yang membuat ponsel ini jadi lebih cepat dalam mengakses data, baterai yang lebih tahan lama, memiliki kamera autofokus dengan resolusi 3 megapixel, lebih mudah merekam video, ada pengatur suara handsfree, dan tentunya sudah bisa copy paste teks.

iPhone 3GS sendiri tersedia dalam dua model dengan kapasitas masing-masing 16 GB dan 32 GB. Untuk versi ritel tanpa perlu kontrak berlangganan setahun, iPhone 3GS 16 GB yang dibundel dengan kartu Simpati akan dibanderol Rp 7.099.000. Sementara untuk iPhone 3GS 32 GB banderolnya Rp 8.299.000.

Harganya memang sedikit lebih turun jika dibanding versi iPhone 3G sebelumnya yang sempat menyentuh banderol Rp 11-12 juta untuk kapasitas 16 GB. Sementara versi 8 GB iPhone 3G versi sebelumnya kini 'hanya' dibanderol Rp 5.909.000.

Bagi pelanggan kartu pascabayar Halo, harga ponsel ini bisa didapat lebih murah jika sejumlah persyaratan dipenuhi. iPhone 3GS 16GB dibanderol harga mulai Rp 3.125.000 dan 32GB Rp 4.180.000. Ponsel ini juga bisa dicicil mulai Rp 275.500 per bulan selama setahun.

Maret 2010, Nokia N900 Masuk Indonesia

BANGKOK, KOMPAS.com — Kabar gembira buat Anda para pencinta gadget yang sudah tak sabar untuk menjajal kemampuan Nokia N900. Smartphone pertama di dunia yang menggunakan Linux Maemo 5 itu akan segera tersedia di pasar Indonesia.

Demikian disampaikan Chris Carr, Vice President Sales Southeast Asia Pacific, dalam Nokia Showcase 2010 di Bangkok, Thailand. Ia mengatakan, wilayah SEAP (South East Asia-Pacific)—negara-negara ASEAN plus Australia, Selandia Baru, dan Banglades—menjadi tujuan pemasaran N900 setelah Eropa dan negara besar lainnya.

"Mulai Maret, Nokia N900 akan tersedia di wilayah tersebut," ujar Chris Carr dalam acara yang digelar di Warehouse Thai River Marina Bangkok, Thailand, Senin (22/2/2010) malam.

Ia mengatakan, kehadiran N900 dengan platform terbuka Maemo memberikan kesempatan bagi para pengembang aplikasi untuk bekerja sama. Nokia, lanjut Carr, berkomitmen merangkul para pengembang di seluruh dunia, termasuk para pengembang lokal di setiap negara. Saat ini, lebih dari ratusan aplikasi telah dibuat untuk N900 dan masih terus bertambah. Aplikasi tersebut tersedia melalui bursa online yang dikembangkan Nokia OVI Store maupun komunitas pengembang Maemo.

N900 berlayar sentuh 3,5 inci dan dilengkapi keyborad QWERTY. Kinerja komputasinya didukung prosesor ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz, sistem operasi Linux Maemo 5, dan memori internal 32 GB. Kemampuan multitasking untuk membuka sebanyak mungkin aplikasi secara bersamaan merupakan daya tarik utamanya. Fitur utama lainnya, kamera 5 megapiksel, GPS, koneksi HSPA, dan WiFi 802.11 b/g. Nokia N900 juga menjadi handset pertama di dunia yang telah dilengkapi browser internet Firefox for Mobile buatan Mozilla.

Soal harga jualnya, Corporate Communication Manager Nokia Regina Hutama Poli belum dapat memastikan. Sebagai gambaran saja, di pasar AS, Nokia N900 dibanderol sekitar Rp 6 juta saat tersedia mulai November 2009.

Inilah Kejutan Apple: iPhone 3GS

SAN FRANSISCO, KOMPAS.com - Tanpa menyia-nyiakan waktu, Apple langsung mengumumkan semua kejutannya di hari pertama Apple's World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) di San Fransisco, Senin (8/6). Yang paling ditunggu-tunggu pun akhirnya muncul yakni model baru iPhone.

Model terbaru iPhone disebut iPhone 3GS. Kehadirannya menambah jajaran iPhone sebelumnya yakni iPhone classic, dan iPhone 3G. iPhone 3GS sudah menggunakan sistem operasi iPhone 3.0 yang juga diumumkan di ajang ini. Salah satu fitur tambahan pada sistem operasi baru ini adalah kemampuan cut, copy, dan paste yang belum bisa dilakukan pada versi sistem operasi sebelumnya.

Fitur baru lainnya voice control yang dapat dipakai untuk melakukan panggilan atau mengetahui judul lagu yang sedang dimainkan. Saat pengguna menyebutkan nama kontak atau nomor telepon, voice control akan melakukan verifikasi untuk melakukan dial otomatis. Untuk mengetahui judul lagu, katakan dan iPhone akan menjawab.

Dibandingkan iPhone versi sebelumnya, iPhone 3GS dilengkapi hardware baru. Misalnya prosesor lebih cepat dan pilihan kapasitas memori dua kali lipat. Daya tahan baterainya juga lebih lama. iPhone 3GS juga dilengkapi kamera 3 megapixel yang dapat dipakai untuk melakukan rekaman video dan langsung mengeditnya di perangkat tersebut.

Bahkan Apple mengklaim bahwa kemampuan membuka aplikasi dan membuka halaman web pada iPhone 3GS mencapai dua kali lipat daripada iPhone 3G. Selain itu, kemampuan grafisnya mendukung mode 3D sehingga memberi pengalaman bermain game lebih memuaskan.

Selain itu juga ada fitur-fitur interaktif seperti Nike + iPod yang memberikan tools untuk mendukung training fisik. Juga kompas digital yang dapat memberikan langsung informasi arah.

iPhone 3GS tersedia dalam dua model dengan pilihan memori 16 GB dan 32 GB dan warna hitam atau putih. Untuk versi 16 GB dijual mulai seharga 199 dollar AS dengan kontrak langganan AT&T selama dua tahun. Sedangkan versi 32 GB dijual mulai harga 299 dollar AS dengan kontrak serupa. iPhone 3GS mulai tersedia 19 Juni di pasar AS. Di luar AS, tunggu saja.

Android Hadir Sebagai Pilihan bagi BlackBerry

VIVAnews - Di Indonesia, pengguna dua ponsel dual-phone komposisinya mencapai 30 persen dari total pengguna. Tak hanya GSM dan CDMA, tetapi termasuk juga dual phone-GSM dan GSM.

“Artinya, ponsel-ponsel Android seperti Hero, Milestone, Galaxy Spica, dan lainnya bisa menjadi pilihan para pengguna BlackBerry sebagai personal guide device,” kata Teguh Prasetya, Group Head VAS Marketing Indosat, pada VIVAnews di Jakarta, 22 Februari 2010.

Teguh menyebutkan, ini bisa menjadi simbiosis mutualisme. “Ketika BlackBerry datang dengan kemampuan kompres e-mail yang luar biasa, ponsel berbasis Android hadir sebagai personal guide karena keduanya sama-sama mempunyai segmen mid-hi end,” ucapnya.

“Bagi kami, layanan berbasis Android cukup menjanjikan. Ini bisa men-generate revenue dari layanan data, sehingga kita tak cuma mengandalkan data plain, tetapi juga memetik hasil dari aplikasi dan konten,” kata Teguh. “Layanan nilai tambah ini dimaksudkan untuk meretensi pelanggan supaya tetap loyal sama kita,” ucapnya.

Dari keenam ponsel yang dibundel, Teguh menyebutkan, target Indosat adalah mampu mendapatkan sekitar 50.000 pelanggan baru.

Untuk melengkapi layanan Android di Indonesia, Indosat telah menggabungkan kios aplikasi Android App Store milik Google dengan Indosat Market Store. Dengan demikian, pelanggan Android Indosat bisa menikmati konten Android sekaigus konten lokal Android dalam satu perangkat.
